My mistake of requesting all three of the books in this series. I should have just kept with reading the first book. DNF this series. I just couldn't get into it.
no review will be posted for this as we couldn't finish reading the book
Mix a little bit of Star Trek with a lot of naughty daydreams, and you'll get this steamy serial about sexy pirates, space conspiracies, alien abductions and spying missions to save the world.
Written in a very light tone, this first episode introduces a sweet but resilient young woman from Earth who faces the choice of a lifetime: becoming a heroine.
I had a lot of fun because it feels like a Han Solo adventure through a lens of lust and humorous levity. Dark themes such as slavery, trafficking and torture make for a harsh background perfect for space quests and heroism. Ruby gives herself to her mission while encountering aliens, pirates and lots of new, kinky experiences. As it should, it ends up with Ruby in danger, so I imagine that the next episode will be full of all kinds of action. Can't wait :-D
A crazy hot adventure story, with some pretty kookie characters and quite a few unbelievably jaw dropping, eye popping encounters. Your mind will be reeling and a number of expletives and "what the hells" will leave your mouth as you read through this series of 3 fast-paced, action-packed novellas.
I received an Advanced Reader's Copy from the Publisher via NetGalley for voluntary review consideration.

Rescued by the Space Pirate is a cute, fast and fun read. The characters are entertaining, the storyline intriguing and the sex...STEAMY! To tell the truth, when I first read the blurb I didn't expect a story that would run on the humorous side. It's not one of those laugh out loud stories but one that doesn't take itself to seriously.
In one day Ruby loses her job and her boyfriend. OUCH! Turns out there is a reason when she is asked to help find a missing woman...IN SPACE! She's been dreaming of space and jumped on the chance to go. Of course, things are not all rosy when she wakes up to find herself naked and on a slaver ship. Killian is a space pirate and takes on an assignment from an anonymous employer to retrieve Ruby from the slaver ship. Easy money, right? He finds how wrong he is when he gets her on his ship.
Like I stated earlier, this is a story that doesn't take itself too seriously. Ruby is sweet, funny, stubborn...and a flake! Who in their right mind agrees to go on an alien slaver ship. I bet she regretted that decision one the tentacle came out to play. Yuckies! Normally, that would be my do not pass go point and I would throw the book in the DNF pile but I persevered. Thankfully, Killian appears into the story shortly thereafter and things really get fun. Fun as in a nice ménage. Killian is my favorite character thus far and I'm curious to learn more about him. Once Killian finds out her story on why she's in space, he caves (Oh no!) goes along with her plan (It's a bad plan!) and then...
CLIFFHANGER!
Thankfully, I have all three books in the series so it wasn't much of a wait for me. Consider that when you decide to read the series. To be continued with the next book.

3.5 Stars
Part one of three of an erotic tale with aliens.
Think menage, steamy shower scene with sexy aliens.
I think that the characters could use a bit more development by with this type of story a 3.5 star rating is not bad.
And YES.....I will be reading the next two parts to get the whole story and see where this is all going to lead.
Rescued by the Space Pirate is the first part in a three part serial written by Nina Croft. If you don't like cliffhangers, you should hold off until the third part is published - which is in about two weeks. I have long been a fan of Ms. Croft and was excited to see her enter the alien romance sphere.
It is made rather clear what influences Ms. Croft drew upon for both her male hero and the space environs her heroine found herself within. If the numerous references to Princess Leia and Han Solo don't make it clear, the introduction to Killian, our hero, surely does. Killian is a space pirate, who has a bounty on his head, a blue alien second named Zak, and a space ship meant for speed, rather than fighting. I found Killian to be an interesting character and enjoyed his scenes.
I can't figure out, on the other hand, whether Ruby - our heroine - is just incredibly naive and lives in a fantasy world, or is just too stupid to live. Apparently, aliens have been visiting Earth for years, even though Earth is technically a 'closed' planet. Her boss is Earth's representative to the Federation. When his daughter, Yolanda, is kidnapped, he creates a situation for Ruby to volunteer to find her. This situation results in Ruby being fired from her job and her boyfriend breaking up with her once he is given a career opportunity too good to pass up. It is only then that he presents his proposal: she gets captured by slavers, finds his daughter, and then they are both rescued. After doing this, she will be given her dream job with his company. Ruby, who has longed to travel into space, sees no problem with agreeing and does so even though her former boss didn't bother to ask her if she wanted to do this before being fired for no cause. Apparently space is too big a lure for her to ignore.
Ms. Croft does not shy from exploring kinky alien sex - there is a scene with tentacles, as well as a menage scene - and her aliens are not necessarily humanoid in shape. I can't tell if Ms. Croft is subtly parodying the recent trend of alien erotica, or if she just wants to see how far she can push the envelope. Despite her recent break up, Ruby demonstrates little sorrow at it.
Ruby's dedication to her goal is puzzling. As far as the reader knows, she has no undercover experience or training and absolutely no connection to Yolanda (who is an adult and not a child). Despite this, she is determined to find and save Yolanda for reasons that are never really explained.
For all that I can't connect to Ruby, I am interested enough in the plot to read further. There a clearly a conspiracy afoot and that intrigues me.
3 Stars
Ruby Robbins is a woman on a mission. From clerk to sexy space spy, Ruby has gone undercover to infiltrate a space slave operation that is kidnapping young women for alien pleasures. Now she must get herself caught and figure out a way to save the day and the virtues of those imprisoned with her. Little did she know she would be rescued by a swashbuckling space pirate and his trusty sidekick only to discover that sex among the stars is definitely an out-of- this-world experience.
Nina Croft has taken a spacewalk on the wild side with RESCUED BY THE SPACE PIRATE in a short, erotic tale of sex trafficking and sexual pleasures with one or more partners as Ruby is rescued by Killian Sharpe, space pirate and his alien buddy Zak. Our Ruby is not a professional spy, but she puts her all into her job, and she was a pretty good character! Killian wears the façade of tough guy pirate well, until his feelings get in the way, not that he won’t share Ruby with Zak, because that’s what friends do, right? ;)
Definitely erotic, definitely not for those who are shy about sharing sex with an alien, but a quick read that has a potential to be a great tale if fleshed out with less flesh and more action!

If you enjoy stories with erotic sex scenes and Alien Space Pirates this book is for you .
Ruby loses her job (not her fault) and her boyfriend all within a morning BUT is immediately offered the job of dreams literally !!
She has always dreamt of being swept off her feet by a Space Pirate/Alien and living an adventurous life.......... but , most Humans don't know that there are aliens out there kidnapping young unattached women and selling them as sex slaves .
Ruby agrees to go undercover as a sex slave in order to find her boss's daughter but everything is not quite as it seems .
Ex human slave , cybernautically enhanced Space Pirate Killian Sharpe owes money left right and center - in order to stop his spaceship from being taken he agrees , through the Guild, to buy/rescue a slave - whose picture just happens to be of Ruby .
Who wants to rescue her and why ?
Killian rescues Ruby - who is not at all grateful , she wants to go back to the slavers to continue with her mission .
This is the first novella in this trilogy and I wish I could give it more than 2 stars . There was too much alien sex and not enough story line to make her actions believable ( I know that I should suspend my beliefs when reading this style of book , but in this case I could not ).
I hope that the next two novellas will be more story driven
This was about a 3.5 for me. I've read the author's previous work and might have expected to be sucked into this series, but after reading the first installment, I have to say I was pretty entertained, but not completely sold on devouring this with a lot of fanatical love. I liked the idea, the bigger picture that Ruby has to endure and do what she has to do, and I mean come on: alien sex. It started off interesting enough, and Killian's intro made it even more curious, but after she was rescued, the story pretty much turned into erotica. I like the guilty pleasure books, but the story aspect of it really just disappeared for me. I am, however, an advocate for poly relationships so anytime it's the more the merrier for me and feelings are being introduced, I'm all in. So, while the story kind of faded, the hot kinda-not-really-romantic part of it saved it for me. If you like alien abduction/erotica stories, definitely check this out, because it's got a bit more promise with a story than just naughty pages.
Rescued by the Space Pirate by Nina Croft is book number one in the Ruby Robbins’ Sexy Space Odyssey series. This is a cliffhanger and there are other books to follow in this series.
I didn't really know what to expect from this book. The story pulls you in but you do have to have an open mind and just be ready for anything. So, if you like Alien erotica then this book is for you.
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I'm hooked already. Cliffhanger but handled great so I'm left needing more but not upset it's over... Fun and yet hot as hell. I'm intrigued who hired Killian. And what's to happen next to Yolanda and Ruby
This is a fast-paced sexy and fun read. The first installment of the series has Ruby being sent to space as a spy and being rescued by space pirates. Steamy and entertaining. Looking forward to more in the series. I really liked it.
RESCUED BY THE SPACE PIRATE is the first of three installments in Nina Croft’s serialized adult Ruby Robbins Sexy Space Odyssey erotic, sci-fi series focusing on human female Ruby Robbins, and space pirate Killian Sharpe.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Killian and Ruby) RESCUED BY THE SPACE PIRATE is a story line focusing on the search for slavers in space. Ruby Robbins lived a normal life on Earth but one day everything she thought she was and had was gone. Losing her job and her boyfriend within a matter of minutes found Ruby considering an offer in outer space-her boss’s daughter was missing and Ruby was tasked with locating the woman in question by getting herself captured by the slavers. But things don’t go according to plan as Ruby finds herself being rescued by a sexy, space pirate and his sidekick Zak. Enter Killian Sharpe who begins to fall for our story line heroine.
I had no idea what to expect when I was offered the chance to read RESCUED BY THE SPACE PIRATE. I had previously read the author’s amazing Dark Desires paranormal/sci-fi series and was hoping for something in the same style but the author has travelled a different path, and for anyone interested in reading I recommend going into the story (and series) prepared for anything including alien $ex and tongue in cheek virtual imagery. Our heroine is a woman determined to rescue a number of slaves from outer space but first she takes times to feed her sexual desires. I can only compare the story line to Han Solo and Chewbacca going to rescue the Princess Leia with an erotic twist, or the old Saturday afternoon Flash Gordon serials (or Flesh Gordon for those who were so inclined) .

I am a Huge fan of Nina Croft books so when I heard about Rescued By the Space Pirate I was thrilled and I dived into this novella as soon as I could. This book is the first part of a serial and we spend a lot of this book getting an introduction to the characters and the world. In this book we mainly follow Ruby and Killian , Ruby is in a very dangerous situation, she is under cover on a Alien Slaver Ship Killian is sent to collect Ruby off the ship and lets just say Ruby is not to thrilled about it seeing as it messes with her mission but the chemistry between these two was just undeniable . This is a first part of serial so its not a very long but I felt so many things while reading this story, the way Nina Croft is able to balance heavier topics , humor and romance was just amazing and I think that just speaks to what a great writer Nina Croft is . Rescued by The Space Pirate is a sexy , unique sci-fi novel and I cannot wait to get my hands on Stolen by the Space Pirate!!.If you love all these things in your books you should definitely pick up a copy of Rescued by the Space Pirate as soon as you can.
I usually enjoy anything that Nina Croft writes; contemporary, paranormal or science fiction but this time Rescued by the Space Pirate just did not work for me. I can sum the reason up in one sentence. The lack of a strong plot and developed characterization is missing which I count on this author to deliver. There is gratuitous sex with some unusual alien body parts.
This is part 1 of a three-part serial, which I requested all three at the same time from Netgalley. I can only hope that the next installment is better. This is not up to Nina Croft’s writing standard.
a superb start to the series. Enjoyed it. love a good sci-fi rom and this is surely one.
A super quick read. First book in series ends in cliffy, I'm assuming the books run into one another more like a serial than stand alone novels.
