I really just couldn't get into this one either. I ended up DNFing it. I have read some of her brazen books and loved those.
Loved the finale and hope for other books by this author soon
Heroics, sexy, angry aliens and space adventure. This serial is so much fun that I already miss the characters.
Epic finale for a wonderfully funny and action-filled story. Killian and Ruby are fantastic together, they make a heroic team that faces huge odds that lead them to saving the world through love and determination.
From the fiery pits from Hell to dashing rescues to selfless sacrifices, this motley couple dance their way out of multiple dangers and never lose their true love connection. I loved their naughty lovemaking, the light-hearted tone of the writing, the little plot twists with the other characters and the Federation, and the development of Killian from self-centered ex-slave to a man who can brave anything and see the good in himself.
I enjoyed myself very much, not only with the adventure, the fights, the sexy times and the humorous tone, but also with the more emotional moments. I can totally see this serial expanding into more space quests with Zak and his Groth Empire, or with Ruby and Killian's descendants. Why not? :-D
The third - and last - part of this serial continues with Ruby's mission coming to an end. The only question is whether she and Killian can both make it out alive before the end of the mission. Ruby remains determined to not only save the Earth but also to end slavery on Groth. Her attraction to Killian remains strong and the space pirate finds himself helping Ruby on her mission. When everything seems to go wrong, the only question is what they will sacrifice.
Saving the Space Pirate wraps up this serial while providing tons of action, and yes, tons of sex. Ruby continues to be frustratingly naive and her belief in the Federation seems odd when one considers she literally just learned of the Federation - the space government - a little while ago. Plus, it is not like the Federation has been kind to Killian, the guy she is falling for. Meanwhile, Killian's attachment to Ruby appears to go beyond the hot sex they constantly engage in, as he continues to aid her in her quest. The twists and turns of the plot - some predictable - intersperse the sex scenes to the inevitable conclusion.
While the style of the serial wanted to evoke the sense of the old Flash Gordon serials, the tonal whiplash left me struggling to enjoy a sci fi romp that was not to be taken seriously. I found Ruby to be a frustrating character and I continuously questioned the reasons for her conviction. While I generally enjoy Ms. Croft's work, this was not one of them.
This is the 3rd in the series of Saving the Space Pirate and I do recommend reading them in order. The story is fun and entertaining with lots of drama and suspense. The chemistry between Ruby and Killian is hot. This fast paced, steamy read, held my interest throughout and the sex is HOT. I really liked it!
The final book in this trilogy.
In this book Ruby and Killian fight to save the slaves as well as their friends.
Don't worry about sex....there is still plenty of that along with menage.
For me this was a quick read series. Not the best I read yet I'm glad I had the opportunity to read it.
Saving the Space Pirate is the third and last installment in this serial by Nina Croft. This is by far the best of the three with more plot development this time. The biggest problem is that to understand the story-line this must be read after the first two.
The plot still has plenty of action of the unclothed kind for Ruby and Killian but actual story action too. There is a twist in the story that helps it too. Still the characters are not as developed as I expect from this author that I usually find her books to be a pleasure to read. This serial missed the target for me but I’m hoping it is only a one story miss.
I was so excited to dig into Saving the Space Pirate after reading the other two books in the series so when I got an ARC of it I was thrilled and I dived into this book as soon as I could and I loved it . Saving The Space Pirate was an such a perfect conclusion to this serial . I felt like we really got to see Killian and Ruby become closer In this book and I loved that ,seeing there relationship develop from where they met in part 1 one of this story to now was amazing and Iam so happy with where we leave them . I also felt like all the questions that we had from the previous parts of this story were answered and This story was a sexy (seriously the heat gets turned up in this book ) dark , fast paced , unique, scifi romance .I enjoyed every word of it ,I am sad to see this serial end but at the same time I am very eager to see what Nina Croft will write next. If you love all these things in your stories or if you have read the other two part of this serial already you should definitely pick up this one.
SAVING THE SPACE PIRATE is the third and final instalment in Nina Croft's adult Ruby Robbins Sexy Space Odyssey erotic, sci-fi serialized story line. This is the continuing story of space pirate Killian Sharpe and Ruby Robbins.
Told from dual first person points of view ( Killian and Ruby) SAVING THE SPACE PIRATE follows Killian's return to Groth to rescue the woman he loves who has been held prisoner as a sex slave to the planet's princess. Meanwhile Ruby struggles to keep focused as she believes a rescue is imminent. What ensues is a rescue mission that finds Killian reconnecting with his past, and Ruby making plans to save the world.
Nina Croft's RUBY ROBBINS SEXY SPACE ODYSSEY serial is an erotic space adventure that requires the reader to let go of reality, sit back and enjoy the ride accepting the story for what it is worth....an exaggerated piece of 'pulp science fiction'. There are many groan-worthy moments wrapped in an erotic blanket of steam and sex; the action and adventure sequences will be familiar to fans of the Star Wars saga.

This is like a 3.5 for me. I've enjoyed the ride so far and the adventures. It's been a hit or miss for me for a while in this trilogy and though I like this author, the writing I think just wasn't for me this time around. I did like Ruby's personality and her spunk despite what's been happening to her, and this is so totally a hot fun ride through space with sexy aliens and a bit of a comedic romance between a slave and a space pirate. So overall entertaining and despite it not being for me, I'd still recommend it to those who love this kind of thing and enjoy a fun, fast-paced read full of adventure, sexy time and a bit of heart.
A crazy hot adventure story, with some pretty kookie characters and quite a few unbelievably jaw dropping, eye popping encounters. Your mind will be reeling and a number of expletives and "what the hells" will leave your mouth as you read through this series of 3 fast-paced, action-packed novellas.
I received an Advanced Reader's Copy from the Publisher via NetGalley for voluntary review consideration.
Normally I do not do three stories as one review. But this series is done serial style and I felt I would give away far to much doing them one at a time. So Here I go…. All of the stories are written by author Nina Croft.
This one starts off with Rescued by the Space Pirate
Here is the first time we meet Ruby. She is a hard working office girl. Who just lost her job, her boyfriend, and is being shuttled off to the big wigs of the company. The the strange begins.
I had a very hard time with suspending my belief in places in these stories. But I tried very hard.
She is recruited as a spy to get back a very important daughter. She is like yes! I can do that. Well the part she agrees to is to be a sex slave. Cause the girl she is looking for was captured as one.
Well all goes according to plan she is captured, then she gets bought by Killian.
Killian hates slavers. Ohh and there is a whole thing in the cell that happens that just is way over the top also what they do to Ruby to make her more desirable is over the top too. Killian is honorable and is trying to save her. Both he and his first officer Zackary Mer of the Groth Empire both want her. She just wants to go back and do her mission.
This first part is a lot of getting to know each other. Lots of hot sexy moments. Some make sense others are out of left field at times. But over all I was cheering for Kill and Ruby. Not so much Zak at this time.
The first part ends on a cliff hanger.
The second book Stolen by the Space Pirate Kill and Zak are getting their sexy slave girl back. Ruby wants nothing more than to go home. But she is determined to finish what she started.
This too ends on a cliff hanger
Part three is Saving the Space Pirate
These three are working more like a trio now. They have all taken up Ruby's mission. They also are making their way through love. Kill is having the hardest time with it. But don't worry Zak and Ruby wont give up on him any time soon.
Over all I liked this series. Even the parts where I was like wow, really? Cause over all the story makes sense. It has humor, love, and lots of action both in and out of bed. I think for the sake of clean read this should have been one book, however I get why authors write serials. There are readers who love them. Personally I would wait and see if this became a box set then buy it then. But all of these stories are well worth the read.
Five Shooting Stars
Finally, the end of Ruby and Killian's story has come in Saving the Space pirate. No, they don't die but they do have a few near misses along with a whole lot of sex. At this point in the series, it's kind of a gimme.
We left of Killian and Ruby as they dove headfirst into Hell as they were trying to escape their pursuers. Aghhh! While we may have learned a lot about Killian in the previous books, this one is where we truly learn his history as a Helldiver. That and how he escaped. Since everybody thinks their dead, the chill for a while in a cave Killian had found and as to be expected, they go at it like bunnies. While they are hiding out, other slaves find them. However, these slaves are rebelling and agree to help out Killian and Ruby to both survive and to put an end to the slavery.
And I'm going to put a pin on it right there. Honestly, there is so much that happens in this book, so much excitement, you as a reader need to discover it for yourself. I will say this, this last book was by far the best of the three. This one has a more serious side, lots of things finally get explained, of course, Ruby and Killian get their HEA. Now you would think with an HEA the story would be complete, however, I feel there were still quite a few loose ends that were fuzzy in their answering.
So we have come to the end of the series, and frankly, I am relieved. There were a few subject matters (of the sexual variety) in these books that I really rather not have to read. Call them my hard limits of what I will put up with in my stories. I have read Nina Croft before and did enjoy her other books, however, they were more on the less humorous serious side. For fans of erotic Sci-Fi romance, this will probably be right up their alley.

Ruby’s mission is coming to an end and all she and Killian have to do is to stay alive long enough to complete it. Has the determined Ruby found a hero in Killian, the former bad guy with a rep to uphold? Will these two find their HEA or will fate step in once again and threaten to extinguish the flames these two ignite together? Ruby may have to perform one more act of mercy to save a friend in need, is she up to the challenge after her slavery ordeals?
Nina Croft has found her passion niche and her two main characters provide all the sex anyone could want in the blink of an eye. Are they celebrating the joy of life or grabbing one more toss in the hay because the action can wait? SAVING THE SPACE PIRATE combines the bare bones of what could be a fabulous plot with the bare bones of the main characters, along with every other part of their anatomy. For me, it missed the mark of a better than just okay when the sex failed to draw me in and I couldn’t wait for it to be over in hopes of getting some plot tossed in.
I am always intrigued when an author flexes their creative muscles by walking on the wild side, but I am a little worried that Nina Croft may have gone a little over the edge of Planet Thriller with this series.
I received an ARC edition from Entangled in exchange for my honest review.

totally enjoyed it. I so love a good Sci-Rom and this was exactly that. Great ending!!!
In this third and final part of the series, Ruby and Killian fight to save Zak and their friends as well as the slaves of the planet Groth where Killian grew up in the mines. This installment is an improvement over the previous one which I seriously did not like because of the sexual abuse.
There's pletny of action and adventure with lots of sex including menage. I recommend skipping part two, it goes beyond the pale with forced sex and rape.
The final conclusion and the best out of the three parts. This felt like we got to focus more on the story of saving sex slaves instead of the act itself. Don't worry, the alien erotica is still very much present in the story. She does have sex with Zak so he could be calm and sane enough to escape his prison, while Killian looks on, after all. ARC provided by NetGalley.
Conclusion of the three book novellas. A little twists there at the end of the storyline. All and all a quick read from beginning of the series to the end. Nothing deep, but a fun quickie.
Saving the Space Pirate is the conclusion to the Ruby Robbins' serial series and the story provides some surprising twists to a fun, sexy space adventure.
As always, since this is a serial series, I am telling you it's part of a serial. This is part three of three of the serial.
This story takes a serious turn as Ms Croft shows us what she's been hinting at in part one and two - the plight of the slaves and the evils of slavery. It also reinforces Ruby's desire to save the world but in addition to that, it brings about a change in attitude for Killian. Where he was one out for having fun and not wanting any responsibility, he is seeing the world through Ruby's eyes and thinks it's time for him to grow up and take on some of these serious issues that is plaguing the universe he lives in. He wants better for the people who have been enslaved and for them to find freedom as he has.
Of course, there is still the matter of getting back to Earth and delivering a very important message with which the fate of the planet rests on. Getting off the planet Groth is fraught with mishaps and more adventure, and some sexy shenanigans with Zak, but through it all Ruby shows a surprising courage and tenacity.
I enjoyed this series. It started off a little silly and fun, but Ruby developed well as a character, from someone who wanted adventure but was willful and stubborn, to brave and tenacious with an outlook and world view that developed into something bigger than herself. I also enjoyed Killian's character development as he turned from a fun-loving space pirate to someone who cared about the fate of others who have been born or forced into slavery, and wanting to abolish it.
For someone who wants a fun, sexy adventure story with a little bit of seriousness thrown in to make you think, this is a good series to spend a few hours of your time on.
ARC received for review
Ruby has lots more sex and saves the galaxy....okay just Earth...and her space pirate. Lots of loose ends left laying around.
