I liked this story but it was a fast read and left out a lot of background info. What little there was didn't pull it together

I used to love shifter books but I'm not sure if it's because I've read so many and they've become so similar (I know there's only so much you can do with a shifter) I've become jaded. Every so often I'll see one I like the blurb for and give it a try which is what happened here and in this case I'm glad I did since it's a long while since I've enjoyed a shifter book as much as this one.
Jessa is coping but only just, she's more like a mother than a sister to her siblings and it's a struggle so when the head of the company where she works calls her into his office she fears the worst because she can't afford to lose her job. She didn't need to worry Finnegan Dean has a new job for her but the question is can she hold her attraction for him at bay long enough to complete the six weeks.
Finnegan considers himself cursed and agreed to never have children hoping the curse would die with him and his pack but somehow he now finds himself father to a new born son and he's no idea what to do and so he hires the perfect candidate Jessa. The problem is his wolf likes her a little too much and it's going to be nearly impossible to keep his distance but he must.
While he may have no idea how to look after baby Oscar he does know he's in danger and must protect him at all costs.
Okay, so we know where this book is heading but I liked the characters and the twist on how Finn became a wolf and the ramifications it holds for future books.
It's a long time since I read a shifter book that interested me enough to make me want to continue on with the series and there's certainly enough here for that.
Now the rating.
I'm purposely not generous with my ratings leaving 5* for exceptional books, you know the ones I mean the ones that come along every so often if we're lucky. Which then leaves 4* for really good reads the ones you re-read and keep, now while I enjoyed this and I'll be keeping an eye out for the next book I'm not sure it qualifies but it's very very close.

I'm pretty sure this will be a series and I am super excited for more. It was way darker and more intense than I thought it would be. There was a lot of suspense and danger and I totally enjoyed every minute. I love the characters, the plot is fascinating and I will definitely be waiting for the next one.

I rather enjoyed this, it's a fast paced romance but it works and I loved Finn and Jessa together. I'm quite interested in how this will progress and what's in store for this pack of reluctant wolves. Finn and Jessa's chemistry is palpable and the secondary characters are endearing.

I loved this fun romance with a twist. I've read lots of billionaire books and lots of werewolf books, but not any that combined the two - this made for a unique and entertaining book....especially with the whole will the baby turn or not question.

The characters were very likeable and engaging. The romance between Jessa and Finn started out sweet and became very hot with a capital H - all while fighting for their lives from a crazy pack of werewolves that considers them false wolves that they want eradicated.

If you enjoy romantic suspense with a paranormal twist, you will love this book. I'm hoping this is the beginning of a new series. I've added the author to my must read authors' list.
