A surreal comedy about a rural US town called Faith, pretentiously declaring itself "hometown of Jesus Christ" and finding itself in legal trouble because of it. In order to support their claims, the inhabitants, until then a peaceful bunch of agnostics who mind their own business, suddenly rediscover faith and turn from faith to fundamentalism, in a crescendo of collective hysteria, until someone dies. But in Faith nothing is as it seems...
An amusing read and a pitiless analysis of a province (American in this case, but comparable to the province of any part of the world) moved more by the belly than by the brain.
