Romancing the Bachelor by Diane Alberts was a very entertaining read.

The storyline held my interest, both Eric and Shelby were likable, believable characters that I easily connected with and watching them fall in love filled my heart with happy feels.
These two were going to have a wonderful life together.

Romancing the Bachelor is another great read by the talented Diana Alberts and I highly recommend it.

Eric Hamilton is struck dumb in the courtroom when he notices the court reporter. He wants to know her name immediately because he has big plans for this beautiful woman. Unfortunately for him, Shelby Jefferson has seen Eric’s love ’em and leave ’em behavior for the past six months so she is not falling for it. Shelby has been working in the courts with Eric for six months and if that isn’t the worst thing, they also happened to be living in the same apartment complex and he has never said one thing to her before. Suddenly, a shorter skirt and her hair down means he is ready to notice her. Shelby isn’t having any of it.

But Eric is persistent. The more he gets to know Shelby, the more he just plain likes her. She is funny, blunt, smart, and not at all afraid to put him in his place. But Shelby wants no part of even dating Eric. She has plans to get out of Atlanta. She is searching for a new job in any small town willing to hire her. After moving to Atlanta for a guy, and getting her heartbroken and being left broke and down on her luck, Shelby is all about making her own future and that future she wants is not in Atlanta. For Eric, this is tough because he wants to make partner at his law firm. But he also really, really likes Shelby and though he is hesitant to use the R word (RELATIONSHIP!), he is starting to think the potential for something between them is too strong to resist.

Diane Alberts really charmed me with Romancing the Bachelor. I loved the chemistry between Eric and Shelby. I also really liked that Shelby wasn’t going to put up with any guff from Eric. She’s seen his playbook play out as it were and she is not impressed (or so she tells herself). But the more she gets to know him, past the facade of the playboy lawyer, the more she realizes that Eric is worth fighting for and that frightens her. She does not want to become dependent on a man again, not for her happiness or comfort. And I can definitely understand Shelby’s feelings on this topic but I was really hoping she would realize that maybe she could have the best of both worlds: Eric and her independent spirit.

I appreciated that these two did not change their minds on their perspective futures overnight. Eric especially took some time because he never really thought he wanted to be part of a long-lasting relationship. I’m glad he came to his senses! I really appreciated the big gesture at the end to prove to Shelby that she is what he wants more than anything in the world.

Romancing the Bachelor is a fun and sparkling romance story. Eric and Shelby had some walls to break down to make their new relationship a go, but it was well worth it. Diane Alberts definitely has written a super sweet romance perfect for any fan of the genre!

"Romancing the Bachelor" by Diane Alberts. What an enjoyable read! Ms. Alberts takes us through the journey of Eric and Shelby, two souls that truly don't believe they want a relationship with anyone, but, oh, true love doesn't always listen. I liked both characters and the chemistry was terrific. Eric is certainly a swoon-worthy hero and Shelby, I connected with her and understood her wanting to protect her heart. The pace of the story was a slow build which had me squirming at times, so I can only imagine how Eric and Shelby felt. This is a new author for me and I was pleased by Ms. Alberts writing style, the storyline, the characters and the pace. I eagerly await the next story written by her. Overall, it's a feel good story that had me smiling and rooting for the lovely couple all the way! (received copy for honest review)

Reading a Diane Alberts story is like being caught in a Riptide. It's easy to become entangled and hard to find the way out. I love reading Ms. Alberts. She can maneuver from light and entertaining to emotionally frustrating, but she always manages to grab hold of her readers and never let go. The Hamiltons are my favorite series because, each story has little more heart, alot more mischief and that dynamic only a family gave make. Romancing the Bachelor is Eric's moment to shine. The man with the five year plan meets his match in Shelby. She's vibrantly frustrating, stubborn, and determined to live by her own rules. Sound familiar. Eric and Shelby are two peas in a pod. Which makes for a volatile relationship, but an exciting romance. There were times the story felt rushed but these characters are as lovable as the series is sizzling.

ROMANCING THE BACHELOR, the second book in Diane Alberts' new Hamilton Family series starts off great. Shelby's sass and dismissal wasn't what Eric was used to from women. He was hooked and so was I.

Once Eric convinces Shelby to give him a chance to be her "friend" (since neither wants a relationship), after promising her he absolutely will not fall in love with her or ask her to stay in Atlanta with him rather than going for her dream job in a small town. Shelby isn't about to let another man derail her from her dreams. Likewise, Shelby promises Eric she will not be a threat to his beloved bachelor state by falling in love with him.

The book continues in a slow romantic build with plenty of humor and sexy times. The pace really picks up toward the end has Eric and Shelby are torn between their promises to each other, some miscommunication, and the realization that they have indeed fallen in love.

I really enjoyed Romancing the Bachelor and am hoping Wyatt Hamilton's story will be next! 4 stars.

Another author who makes me just forget about all my other problems or things to do when im reading there books and just fall right into them so easily and just stay there. It's just fantastic for me that these authors and there books can do that for me and I just love them and there for it. After having read the first book of this series, and absolutely loving it due to the Hamilton brothers and the way they were so protective of their sister, I couldn't wait to discover the women that would win the hearts of the gorgeous brothers, and I've got to say that Shelby is a wonderful match for Eric; a man determined to stay focused on his five-year plan, and yet, loves a challenge. The way this story started had me liking the hero immediately, as he's a good lawyer determined to do anything to help his clients win their cases. Except it seems he doesn't need to work his magic much for the case he's in court for, and instead, needs all his suave and persuasiveness to convince the heroine that he's not a spoilt, rich playboy capable of winning over any woman wants.

Both the main characters entertained me from start to finish and the dialogue was a delightful combination of intense due to the main characters back stories, especially the heroine; and playful banter between Eric and Shelby that had me smiling or laughing. Certainly, Shelby's lucky to have caught Eric's attention, and I liked that he kept proving her original assessment of him wrong with everything he does or things he tells her about. Moreover, he's smart, charming and I loved the tight bonds he has with his family. They're always there for each other when one needs advice or just needs someone to listen to their problems, and there are times when Eric needs the support of his brothers or sister. While the heroine, it's understandable why she fears giving another man a chance after what the last guy she was with did. Seriously, she's strong and brave in giving Eric a chance; and the way she was able to pick up the pieces of her life after what her jerk of an ex did, instead of running home to the support her family would gladly offer. I also liked her plans for her future and how she was torn between leaving for the small town life she wanted and staying to be with Eric. Would he want her to stay?

Overall, Ms. Alberts has delivered a fun and delightful read in this book where the romance was hot and Eric made Shelby feel beautiful. The way this story ended had me crying happy tears, as Eric proved how much he wanted Shelby in his life by what he does to be with her. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story perfectly, because of this couple's surprise and how it's revealed to Eric's family. That moment had me smiling. I would recommend Romancing the Bachelor by Diane Alberts, if you enjoy second chance romances, the friends to lovers trope or books by authors Avery Flynn, Naima Simone, Victoria Davies or Sarah Ballance.

This was a fun and lighthearted romantic comedy that would definitely drive you crazy since the main leads are just too funny and sometimes frustrating with the way their relationship develops. We meet Eric and Shelby as if the former was suddenly and instantly attracted to the latter. Turns out that Shelby has been court stenographer for the last six months and it's only now that Eric, a lawyer, has noticed her. But that's not the clincher. Apparently, they live in the same building and often times have come across one another. But Eric doesn't remember and Shelby thinks he's just basically too aloof and a playboy. What follows is a romance that develops slowly and carefully catching both of them unawares. But they both have plans and it doesn't include falling in love.
Again, this was really a fun read, although the main leads reasoning for not pursuing something lasting between them seems silly, the reasoning behind it isn't a stretch. It's a light and very sexy romance worth reading.

I received this ARC copy of this book from NetGallery for an honest review. I give this book 5 stars. The storyline between Shelby and Eric was well written and start as they first make eye contact across the courtroom. She hate him because the work in the same building and live in the same building and floor. He never noticed her before. This book has love, betrayal, brotherly love, steamy sences, no abuse, no cheating, some secrets and a HEA ending. This book is a must read.

eric hamilton is an up-and-coming lawyer who just made partner at his firm, while shelby jefferson has been the court reporter for several years without registering on his radar. and on a day where he gets an easy win in court, he's distracted by the sight of her. and then he sees her outside his building. and they go up in the same elevator and get off on the same floor.

shelby is used to being ignored by eric. so when he does notice her she views it with great suspicion. she's been fooled by a guy's attention before. she moved out to atlanta only to get dumped and stuck in a dead-end job that she doesn't really love. she wants a small town life. she wants something meaningful and something more. and eric is a determined bachelor and a city boy to boot. there is no chance of anything worthwhile ever happening.

in romancing the bachelor, both eric and shelby spend a lot of time denying that their connection, once it has sparked, is something more. shelby makes eric work for her friendship and for her trust. they both try to resist hooking up as long as they possibly can, especially given that the chemistry is right between them from the start. but by waiting the promise of commitment is there, tantalizingly out of reach due to their capacity for denying what is so obviously true.

their abundance of caution and inability to make the jump to commitment almost derails their entire relationship. because even then they are ready, neither of them admits it. believing, mistakenly, that freedom is what the other wants. and only by getting their heads out of the sand will they be able to find happiness. a happiness that depends on being together.

this was a quick, enjoyable read. eric and shelby not only have great chemistry as romantic partners, but as friends. and i love stories like that.

Romancing the Bachelor, by Diane Alberts is an enjoyable contemporary romance.

Shelby Jefferson is ready leave Atlanta and move to a small town, yet she's simply waiting for an official job offer. As a court reporter, she constantly sees lawyer Eric Hamilton throughout the week, especially since they have lived in the same building for past six months. However, Eric never noticed Shelby, until she raced in late to work one day.

After Eric instantly fell for Shelby, he pursues her, even though she seems to despise him, despite their obvious attraction. As the story unfolds, they're forced to deal with their growing friendship developing into an unofficial relationship, as well as her job situation, family complications, and issues from the past affecting their future.

Since it's the second book in the Hamilton Family series, it's recommended to start with the first book, The CEO's Seduction, yet it's not necessary to read the books in order.

Romancing the Bachelor is a captivating story with intriguing characters, and it's geared towards those who enjoy reading modern romances.

So very good! I really enjoyed reading this one. It's fun, sexy, and completely entertaining. Eric Hamilton is a hardworking dedicated attorney working on his five year plan. No where in that plan is there time for a woman. Yet when he meets Shelby, a beautiful court reporter, he knows he needs to make time for this woman. Too bad she wants nothing to do with him or any other man.

This is one I recommend to everyone.

This is the second book in the Hamilton Family series, although it can very well be read as a standalone and I have to say it was another great story by Diane Alberts, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Eric is a lawyer, he has a plan for the next five years of his life and he wants to stick by it but his world is turned upside down when he meets Shelby, who seems to just hate him, as it happens they live on the same floor but Eric hadn't realized it and she has this image of him as a player, having seen several different women enter his apartment; she also hates Atlanta and longs to return to her small town roots. But Eric is captivated by her, and he's patient and constant in his intentions, and this was not done in a creepy way, he was actually very gentle and persevering; it's really hard not to swoon over him.

With Shelby having been hurt by guys before you can understand her reticence to accept Eric's attentions, but when they're together, wow! they have a great chemistry and to read how their relationship starts to grow and develop was great, I loved it. Of course everything doesn't come easy and when the climax comes you really wonder what's going to happen, I wanted to shake them both and make them see reason, but I will also say I really respected Shelby because even if she was hurting, she was willing to stand up for herself.
As for the ending, even if you're suffering, it's all worth it.

Congrats to Diane Alberts on another great story! The story remained interesting and enjoyable at all times, you could see the character development, couldn't ask for more. Looking forward reading the next book in the series.

Shelby and Eric's relationship was a refreshing story that started off different. She didn't like him and he couldn't resist her. But I had the same question Shelby had, Why now?

The growth of the relationship is steady, the plot of the story is well written, I wanted to shake Eric, and wanted to hide for Shelby. But the twists and turns are what these two needed.

I can't wait to see what she has in store for Wyatt....

Romancing the Bachelor by Diane Alberts is extremely charming. Eric is super hot and sexy. Overall the story was great although I wish one of these tropes would have the heroine be looking for a honest relationship instead of insisting they just want a no strings relationship like the typical bachelor. When honestly it's just not realistic nor very romantic. I appreciate the opportunity to read the book and Thank Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.

These Hamilton men, good Lord deliver me. This gem from Diane is about Eric, the attorney who is a stand alone, closed off, one night stand kinda guy who's living out his 5 year plan. He's just made junior partner. Good for him.
The book opens with Eric waiting in court for his opposing counsel (he hates to wait) when the door opens and in walks a woman he can't take his eyes off of. We meet Shelby. She takes he seat at the steno table, he's still staring lost in his own head about her and has trouble paying attention in court. As soon as court is over she's gone. Arriving home that day, he's in the elevator to his apartment, never turns around despite Shelby standing behind him until he senses someone there. Eric starts in his usual that works with most women and man it doesn't work for Shelby and she's mad. I loved her. She's feisty and independent. She hates Atlanta and has no intention of staying there and has no time for yet another man who she's watched bring a different woman home every weekend. Eric is so lame he doesn't even realize they live on the same floor, a few doors from each other. Try as he may it takes him a while to get Shelby to agree to even go out with him. Dinner is all she agrees to. And she does her best to hot every peeve he has. He's got a laundry list. With her, he's patient.
So they decide to be friends, Eric realizes what he's been missing and how happy he's been. Shelby realizes that not all men are like the one who burned her so badly before. They burn up the sheets.
Diane can write some steam and this book is no exception. Shelby still wants to move to a small town.
When the bottom drops out, Eric's serious asshat side comes blazing out front and center, despite his brother Wyatt's warnings... and he gives Shelby the royal kiss off. I was furious. Damn good thing I finished reading it on my iPad because I would have thrown my kindle. What a fool. I felt bad for Shelby, but damn if she doesn't put her big girl pants on and... well... read the book.
I loved this story. It sounds like you're typical bachelor meets girl trope but its not, it's much more.
The character development is full and we get introspective thought from both Shelby and Eric. It focuses on the relationship between these two, who manage to tip the scales on both ends. That was the interesting part. I'd read it again. It's worth the second read.
I love Diane's books and this one is another winner.

Loved this book! Sexy and fun, this is another winning romance by the author. It begins when a hot attorney can't take his mind off of the sexy court reporter. She can't understand why the attorney player has set his sights on her, so she shuts him down....except he won't go away. She finally agrees to be his friend, but that leads to something more.

No one can tell a contemporary romance like this author - she creates characters that make you fall in love and feel invested in. This book is no exception - it had me turning pages just as quickly as possible, anxious to see what happened next, but not wanting it to end. I didn't think the author could improve on the first book in the series, but this novel is every bit as good as the first, if not better.

Fans of the genre will love this book. It's a must read for romance fans. While its part of a series, this is a stand alone novel. The author is on my must read authors' list.

A better name for this book would have been, Romanced By the Bachelor. Shelby was content with passing Eric daily not only in her job but in the hallway of the apartment building where they live. After all it's been happening for six months. Then one day Eric notices Shelby and would stop at almost nothing to get to know her better. Gotta say, he was pretty convincing. But boy did he totally almost screw up their happily ever after. I think that I would have made him sweat a little more.

Eric and Shelby were likeable characters in the second instalment of the Hamilton Family series from author Diane Alberts. Eric and Shelby portrayed some heartfelt and steamy moments in what was another good read in the series.
