Enjoyable installation of the Gravediggers series. Loved watching Elias and Miller work things out. The ending felt a little rushed - but it was still good.
Book 2 of the Gravediggers Series was freggin’ amazing. I think it was better than the first book. I loved it! This one tells the story of Miller the writer and Elias. Elias is out for revenge and doesn’t have time to love. Miller is on the hunt for her brother. Since Miller is Tess’s bestie, Deacon won’t let her go alone on the hunt. With the help of the team she and Elias go in search for her brother. As they are in a dangerous place Elias opens up more and the relationship unfolds. I enjoyed the snarky banter between these two characters.
This book was action packed from the beginning. And the sex scenes, let’s just say oh la la! That Elias is one sexy man! In this book you learn a little more about the background of the Gravedigger operation. The characters in this book are very unique. I love reading their story as it unfolds and develops.
Ms. Hart has out done herself with this series. It is a roller coaster of thrill, fun, danger and excitement. I can’t wait to see what happens with the other team members. This is going to be a great journey. This series could definitely make a great movie. I highly recommend this for any one like’s action packed sexy adventures. #happyreader
This is book two in the Gravedigger series and is a must read.
Miller is on deadline for the current romance novel she is writing ,when UPS dares to interrupt her to deliver a package. Her world tilts upside down when she discovers what is inside. Miller grabs the contents and heads to her best friend Tess for help. While there she runs into the one man she is trying to forget, Elias.
After a foiled kidnapping attempt, Tess lets Miller in on the secret of the Gravediggers. Tess takes the news in stride. Much to Elias chagrin she is filing all the sights and information away to use later in one of her books.
Elias doesn't want to take Miller with him to try and find her brother and possibly lost treasure. Miller isn't letting him leave without her. I really enjoyed the way she uses movie references and her sense of adventure.
This book has it all, sexy men, strong women, intrigue, witty dialogue , suspense.
I have mad love for this book and for this lady, she weaves a world you can instantly get lost into and I have to say that I am so glad I read her words.
LOVED! This is book two in the series, and, while I wouldn't have thought it was possible, is even better than the first! This novel opens with Miller on a deadline with just a week to finish her current work in progress. That should have been enough time, but the UPS man interrupted her with a package that stuns her and drops her to her knees.
Before long, her favorite gravedigger has assigned himself to help her....too bad she can't stand to be in the same room with him after he very painfully rejected her.
This is a fast moving book that kept me turning pages just as quickly as possible. I love the premise of the gravediggers and loved learning more about one of them while also learning Miller's story.
Fans of the genre will love this book and you'll want to put it at the very top of your TBR. It's a stand alone novel, however you'll enjoy it so much more if you've read the first book in the series. The author is on my must read authors' list.
Elias Cole and Miller Darling have a recent and unhappy history, and it’s mostly a funny one of unfulfilled sexual tension where Elias left Miller, well, wanting. They’re brought closer together by circumstances that are odd but befitting the life of a romance author who lives inside her head when she receives a finger with a ring that says her equally oddball and irresponsible brother has gone missing.
Elias is literally forced to go with Miller as she goes after her brother and the journey is a hilarious one, peppered mostly by Miller’s fanciful imaginings that started to feel a lot like a parody of romance authors whose heads stay mostly in the clouds. I loved every minute of the banter, especially how often Miller makes Elias speechless with her overactive imagination.
At the same time, Elias’s own reasons for wanting revenge lends gravity to his purpose for being a Gravedigger and I was eagerly waiting for his backstory, as I do for the rest of the motley crew. Sadly, not too much of it is given and his purpose in seeking revenge is somewhat dimmed by the end of the book, proving a disappointment as I half-expected that goal to be fulfilled.
But as far as pairings go, I loved how Elias/Miller both surprised me at every turn, both with their conversations and actions that were as non-stereotypical as they could be in this genre. That they made me laugh most of the way was a fantastic bonus that helped make this book a standout.
Like the first book, this one made me sit up and take note, not just because of the intrigue that’s presented here—I’ve not forgotten that the funeral parlour in an ugly town in Texas houses the world’s deadliest operatives—but also because of the direction that the story took. I’d been expecting more counterterrorist-type scenarios as it did in Deacon’s case, but that was hardly the case this time around.
‘Gone to Dust’ has a heavy focus instead on the journey that Elias and Miller took and the development of their relationship, but eschewed the details about the treasure, the myth and Justin’s ultimate fate in favour of banter and steamy sex. In fact, the story ended very soon after they yanked Justin out of his hiding place and got the bad guy, making me feel as though I was left hanging when Elias and Miller finally decided that they loved each other enough to stay together after a very brief meltdown on Elias’s side.
I think I would have enjoyed it more if the ending had been less abrupt and if I’d seen more of the Gravediggers in action—there were admittedly fewer scenes with them here than in the first book—mostly because their strange relationships and quirky interactions were the highlight of this series so far. The rushed epilogue felt like a HFN without a definite plan for the future (that itself is briefly explained) but still, it would have been nicer to have ‘Gone to Dust’ more conclusively wrapped up without me feeling stunned and wondering if some pages had been missing after all.
Still, it’s a memorable read and as a series that’s only just beginning to gather steam, I’m eager to see what Hart has in store next for this group of unlikely brothers.
