This is the first book I've ever read of Traci Douglass' and I must say I was rather impressed. While I did feel like I was missing a few things, what else can you really expect when it's book 3? However, despite not having read the first 2 books I wasn't too lost (though I would recommend reading the books in order). I loved Rev and Claire, and they worked really well together.

This book is an interesting mix of biker gang and the entirety of the supernatural world. It has your normal erotica along with action and a love story. It also has villains who are on another level of evil. This book is Rev and Claire's.

Rev is a vampire who is the security chief for the Blood Ravagers and a former assassin for the Council. He is being held prisoner after sacrificing himself to keep his friends safe. He is currently in the dungeon being tortured by the Council.

Claire is a Drygarian who were thought to be extinct. She is also in the dungeon bring held as prisoner.

It's when she speaks to Rev that he immediately knows something isn't right. He can't decide if she is a spy or an angel.

With a long life ahead of them in captivity or death to come they have no choice but to make a deal. The question is whether that deal will hold when she finds out who he is or if she'll kill him.

I really enjoyed the storyline and will go back and read books one and two to catch up.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 3rd book in the Blood Ravagers series. In this story we have Reverend "Rev" Walker and he is captured by the Council. He has evaded their grasp for many years. Once he is thrown in a cell he realizes that there is another cell mate Claire Devereaux. Rev realizes what Claire is but doesn't say anything to her about it. Claire is a Dygarian, a shadow-drifter, enslaved and hated hated by the Council her whole life. The council have hunted her kind to extinction She is planning an escape and knows that Rev is her mate. She has a means of escape and if she can convince Rev to join her, who seems reluctant at first, they can both escape. I really liked this one. Claire and Rev seemed to work well together. Great action and hilarious moments. Loved It!

A paranormal delight! Blood Vowed just WOWED me. I love how dark, deadly, sexy, and how edgy this story...heck even this series is. The Characters are complicated and secretive and the plot thickens wonderfully. I felt like I was standing at the edge of a cliff at times and the adrenaline rush I got was AWESOME! This book is both sexy and deadly...a wonderful book that just keeps you well entertained.

This is the third book in Traci Douglass' Blood Ravagers series and as such cannot be completely read as a standalone since the overarching plot is finalized in Blood Vowed. However, Claire and Rev's developing relationship is pretty much the core of the book so if you happen to pick this one up first, the romance will still make sense. Blood Vowed is engaging, action-filled and very much erotic as well. It has interesting characters in Claire and Rev. Claire is pretty much child like when they manage to escape from their captors and is exposed to modern living. Rev, on the other hand, does brooding alpha male with a big guilt trip well! When they do give in to their sexual attraction they do combust. The series overall has great world building and Blood Vowed was a nice ending for the trilogy.

This is a great fast pact adventure story with humor. The heroine is a bad-ass and I enjoyed every moment. I believe all the woman were hardcore.

The story began with the main character, Reverend (Rev) Walker imprisoned by the Council. The Council is an evil organisation made up of supernatural beings whose main intent is to gain absolute power. To achieve their goal they enslave and imprison supernatural beings who they feel are inferior to them but have powers they can utilise in their quest for power. Reverend a vampire and former assassin for the council, turned leader of the Blood Ravagers gang, was one such supernatural. He is determined to destroy the Council and put an end to their tyranny; however, capture and imprisonment were not a part of his plan.

Claire Devereux is a Dygarian (Shadow Shifter) and the last of her race. She has been a slave to the Council since childhood. Circumstances have led to her being imprisoned, but her determination to escape and take revenge on the Council and the assassin who had destroyed her family gave her the will to survive. To achieve her goal, she sought the help of the vampire Reverend Walker. What she did not know, however, was the man whose help she sought was the one she wanted to destroy.

One thing I noticed that is common to most paranormal romances is the speed in which the main characters falling in love. Blood Vowed was no exception. The moment Claire and Rev their desire for each other was evident. Initially, Rev tried to fight his attraction to Claire because of the guilt and secrets he harboured as it relates to responsibility for her race's extinction. However, this battle would prove his hardest.

The writing pulled me in. The story flowed, and the pacing perfect. The intense action and the gripping suspense made for an exciting read. I enjoyed the banter between Rev and Claire, which I found funny, endearing and sweet. Watching this powerful and deadly vampire brought to his knees by love was a remarkable sight. She brought out feelings in him he thought dead and buried. I found his remorse for his past actions genuine, which, is evident in his attempts tried to make amends with Claire.

I loved Claire. She is self-conscious when it comes to her appearance. This was expected in light of her confinement since childhood. Then if you had green skin and red hair, you may have a reason to be insecure. Anyway, on a serious note, she is not a woman to sit back and wait for things to happen. She will go toe to toe with her enemies. She is a determined woman and once she puts her mind to doing something there is no stopping her as Rev soon discovers.

I liked how the situation between her and Rev was resolved. I loved how the battle scenes unfolded, and I found the outcome epic.

Verdict:
Blood Vowed is a story that I read quickly and with lots of enthusiasm. I cannot wait to see what next the author has in store for her readers.

Like that the woman was not a pushover and was a hero in her own right. The battle seemed lackluster, same with the council pulling a very delayed yo-yo recall on Claire some time after they first escape then do so as quick as she can escape. This kind of gang brotherhood is not usually my thing, (I’ve given up on Black dagger brotherhood by book 8/9) but this has enough intriguing suspense. I will have to take a gander at the earlier books. Think I have heard of Dygarian in another book by a different author, think they also left to their own plane to avoid bloodshed?

Good read, loved Rev he was my kinda hero and I guess the bigger they are the harder they fall. I had a harder time connecting with the heroine in the beginning but I was all in by the end.

Blood Vowed is book three in the Blood Ravagers series by Traci Douglass. It’s an adventure that’s full of suspense.

Rev has been in hiding from the Council for centuries. He has come a long away from being the Council’s Assassin. He wants to destroyed the Council and save and protect his friends in the Blood Ravagers gang. He was not looking, nor did he expect, especially with his sins, to find his true mate. Clair has been imprisoned with the Council her whole life. She is also a Dygarian, the last of her kind. All she wants is vengeance against the Council and the one who helped them destroy her people.

We finally get to see the elusive and evil Council. These three men have been using their powers not to uphold the supernatural world, but to control it and subjugate the supernaturals. Those that don’t get on their side soon learn the consequences.

Blood Vowed moved fast from the first to the last page. Rev and Clair have nice chemistry and their banter was enjoyable. There were secrets and pasts to overcome.

Just a few issues:
- The battle scene was lackluster. I was expecting more. Especially since we have been building up to this confrontation.

- I felt that one of the scenes, where the Council members parish, was taken from “The Darkest Seduction by Gena Showalter.” It was so close in similarities to when Krones dies in The Darkest Seduction.

- I found it odd that one of the Council members can just pull Clair anytime anywhere back to the Council headquarters. It didn’t make since this part; because she would permanently be trapped. Yet she escapes and they don’t pull her back until she has time with Rev. Then they keep pulling her back each time she escapes. My issue is if they can do this, then why did they wait the first time? It just felt silly and not thought out.

Blood Vowed was an enjoyable read. We get to finally meet the evil Council, change the future, and find love.

Blood Vowed is the 3rd book in Traci Douglass’ Blood Ravagers series. Before this book debut, I advise you to read Blood Bound & Blood Freed to get the full history on this club of misfits.
Keeping a secret from the one that you claim to be falling in love with is never a good idea, even if that secret will save them from hurting even further.
Reverend “Rev” Walker will learn this soon enough. After the last book, we find that not everything is going well with Rev. After letting himself be captured he is held in a dank cell the last place he wanted to be or see again. But that is not all, he finds himself not the only one that the Council has deemed fit to be held in their cell far away from other beings.
Claire Deveraux the last of the Dygarian a race of shadow-shifter wants revenge against the council and the person who slaughter her entire family. But before she could take revenge, she must escape from captivity. In order to do so, she must team up with the other prison.
Blood Vowed is the best of this series by far. It was a far more intriguing story and full of suspense than its predecessors. If you read the others in this series you will see what I mean. Rev and Clair were more engaging as a couple. They just click better for me faster than the twin’s storyline.
The banter between Rev and Claire was hilarious and the chemistry was golden. The only disappointing thing about the book was the battle. But then again that is just my opinion. But I would certainly recommend this book, heck the entire series for the gripping storyline alone.
