It was fun watching Iain and Mairi reconnect. The bantering between them had me laughing out loud! This was a great conclusion to the Fallen series!
The Seduction of Viscount Vice book 3
Wow!!!! What a sensual sexy read, you got everything in a short one hundred something pages. Deceit, betrayal and redemption for a second chance at love, let's not forget all the hot steamy I need a tall glass of ice water to cool all the raging emotions down! I loved it!!!
Nicola Davidson really has one great sexy read, if you like the spicer type than this the author for you. You get a well written story with just the perfect hotness!
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley for my honest opinion
This was just tooooo cliche for me. Thank you to the Publisher for the review copy though.
Why do authors insist on writing historical fiction if they don't want to be, I dunno, historical? The reader is left to suspend belief and everything she might know about the Regency period in England whilst reading this novel. Which is really hard to do!
If this book were reimagined as a modern book in which separated lovers were involved in competing sex clubs this book would have been more enjoyable. Unfortunately the complete disconnect from reality was not my cup of tea at all.
Passion, heat, and one hell of love story in this romance.
For Lord Iain ‘Vice’ Vissen, Lady Mairi MacNair was the women who got away. Iain had been in love with Mairi since they were very young, and after one afternoon together, she ran away to the continent and supposedly died. But one night Vice runs into Mairi in his pleasure club disguised as a footman....
This short romance was well written, and the author has you emotionally engaged with the characters very quickly. Most people can relate to the idea of having regrets, or thoughts of what could have been in the past, and this story fulfills the fantasy of what could happen if you had a second chance at that lost love. If you don't mind your romances with a little spice, this book is for you.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
After reading the first books in this serious I could not wait to see the arrogant highlander meet his match and Nicola Davidson delivered in spades! Hot and Steamy! Funny and Romantic! Who could ask for more...besides 20 more chapters or so of the same goodness.
Readers looking for a hot regency with a sexy Scot will love this romantic erotica. Iain can't believe he found his first love disguised Mairi as staff in his BDSM club and it is not long before they remember the heat they enjoyed in the past. The Club in this series is an imaginative fantasy, and the pirate scene in this story is especially memorable. This title is perfect for readers looking for second chance historicals that lean more towards erotica than typical Regencies. A fun romp. (This is scheduled to be on my FB hot reads booktube channel (under a pseudonym) in May 2017.)
Wickedly delicious, fun and sexy
This is my first time reading from this author and so glad I took a chance because I was pleasantly surprised. I love erotic historical romance and Nicola Davidson does not disappoint in The Seduction of Viscount Vice. This novella-length story is a second chance at love, a fun plot rich in characterization, wit, and dialogue. And I also found it to be titillating and deliciously wicked.
Lady Mairi MacNair was rumored to have died in Paris ten years ago when she escaped Scotland with her loyal manservant. All this to avoid an unwanted betrothal. So it goes without saying how surprised Lord Iain Vissen, “Vice”, is when he confronts a counterfeit footman on the ballroom floor of his pleasure club, revealing none other than Mairi MacNair. Her tight breeches hardly hiding how tall and graceful she is, a figure he could never forget. Iain and Mairi are childhood friends. Iain was smitten by Mairi when he was seventeen, and both lost their innocence and their hearts to each other. But Vice felt betrayed afterwards when Mairi never arrived for their planned tryst. He would not know the real truth behind the hasty departure, until now.
Mairi never forgot Iain, the man she loved but couldn’t have. In the ten years she had lived in Paris, her work as seamstress and designer in a brothel helped pay a debt to Madame Yvette. Along with her trusty servant and his lover, Ramsey and Olivier worked for the brothel. Their recent relocation to London involved a little competitive spying on Iain’s pleasure club in readiness for opening Madame’s new club.
The Seduction of Viscount Vice is pure entertainment and imagination. There is an element of kinky in this story as we learn Vice, as well as Mairi, are quite the exhibitionists. The thrill of performing on stage is the ultimate sexual exhilaration, and these two compliment each other perfectly. Ms. Davidson did a great job, and I recommend this book for fans of historical romance who like their stories plenty steamy.
A copy was provided by Entangled Publishing via NetGalley. I received and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
The Seduction of Viscount Vice by Nicola Davidson is the third steamy historical romance novella in the Fallen series, set in a London pleasure club. It is a lusty second chance story, with themes of exhibitionism and playacting taking center stage. Iain 'Vice' Vissen has seen his two club co-owners 'Sin' and 'Devil' find true love, but the woman whom he gave his heart (and body) to as a young man fled an arranged marriage with another man and broke Iain's heart in the process. Thinking her dead (as her parents had announced), he's startled beyond words to discover Mairi MacNair in his club, posing as a footman!
Mairi fled her home with her manservant Ramsey (a gay man), both of them escaping a hideous future. She'd always kept a piece of Iain in her heart but had no choice but to head to France, where they became indebted to their eventual employer Yvette who had a pleasure club of her own. Yvette has moved them all to London, in hopes of starting a new club there. Mairi's dream is to be on stage, so playing the role of male footman to spy on Fallen is all part of her acting practice, though discovering that her ex-lover Iain is one of the owners is a shock to the system. If Yvette's plan succeeds, her club will be in direct competition with Iain's, making Mairi and Iain rivals. Discovering their long lost passion is easy – but will Mairi's secrets ruin their second chance?
This is a fun, and very sexy read, which is not surprising since the setting is a regency sex club! It's not particularly in-depth historically speaking, but the time period is accurately portrayed in terms of dress and culture. Vice is responsible for the erotic plays that are carried out at Fallen and takes much pleasure (in more ways than one) in developing and acting in them. (Pirate themed seductions are particularly well liked by the crowd). As it turns out, his long lost love Mairi also has a penchant for exhibitionism and costumes so they are well matched in that department. Their reunion at Fallen leads to several scenes between them where they explore these kinks. But Iain is wary of giing his heart away again for good reason. Plus these two are both stubborn Scots! The conflict in the story leads to some rocky times but those quickly give way to a very happy ending for the couple. I enjoyed the scenes with Devil and Sin and their partners, as well as Iain's younger sister Helena (whom I hope to see get a book of her own!). If you haven't picked up the series yet, the first two are equally enjoyable reads, and I recommend the series for historical romance readers who like to spice things up!

If you like your historical romances on the hot and steamy side, then the Seduction of Viscount Vice is for you. Although this is the third in a series of books, I don't think it really mattered if you hadn't read any of the earlier ones. I hadn't and I enjoyed the book just the same.
Compared to a lot of other books in the genre, this is definitely on the sexier side, with the main characters not only being really turned on by each other, and wanting lots of sex. But they both also want to perform in front of an audience.
This is a second chance book, Iain and Mairi were lovers once, a long time ago. They both wanted more, but it wasn't to be. Now, thrown back into one another's paths by chance, they have the opportunity to try again.
While this might not be a book that sticks slavishly to the period, it is a lot of fun. So if you're looking for quick, hot and steamy read, then you won't go far wrong with The Seduction of Viscount Vice.
I found this series originally while poking around on netgalley while in the mood for a new historical romance series. The cover for each of the books has been stunning and eye-catching – with rich colors and sensual positions. I received a copy of this book, third book in the series, in exchange for an honest review and I can, once again, say Nicola Davidson does NOT disappoint
The books in this series each takes what could otherwise be a boring plot line and turns it on its ear. In this book, it is childhood sweethearts that spent the last decade apart through apparent lies and betrayal suddenly reconnect and the passion between them sparks. We’ve all read that plot line 100 times. But, this series takes that familiar plotline and takes a rather hawt and steamy turn into the dark and spicy world of historical erotica. The various scenes in this book include (but are not limited to) a pleasure club, voyeurism and exhibitionism, toys, nude female/clothed male, body paint, and a whole lot more!
While the writing was, at times, a bit anachronistic (clit$, cocks, c*nts, and p*ssys abound), it is overall very well done and wasn’t so cringe-worthy that it distracted the reader in the moment. I normally have a problem with novellas, and this book is very short (easily read in a single night), but you get enough plot for the schmexy time to make sense, and by the end, you feel like you really get to know everyone, including secondary characters. As a reader, you are really rooting for the main couple’s happily ever after, the villain to get their just rewards, and you can’t help but want to read the series again and again!
I would happily recommend this book and this entire series to others and look forward to reading more works by Nicola Davidson in the future!
Review Final Score - 4 Stars!
I was eagerly anticipating the release of this book ... as I needed to learn more about Lord Iain 'Vice' Vissen. He's a proud Scot and Fallen co-owner, but he’s also dedicated to performing in and producing the pleasure club's hedonistic shows. He also has a keen eye for the details.
The story starts off slow, as a production has ended but one detail is not being fulfilled, to Vice's displeasure. As he's trying to right this wrong, he spies someone who isn't supposed to be there.
Then he apprehends a rogue footman only to discover the spy is Lady Mairi MacNair, the woman who ten years ago broke his heart.
Mairi has returned to London to help open Worldly, a superior pleasure club to Fallen, and finally realize her dream of being the seductive leading lady despite having been born an earl's daughter. Then she discovers her main rival is Iain (Vice), the boy now a man who she loved beyond reason and was forced to abandon years ago. However, Mairi is soon caught in a web of lies, secrets pertaining to her position as seamstress to Worldly and the raw, scorching passion that time hasn't dimmed with Vice.
This book was well paced but I had a bit trouble reading it in one sitting as I normally do. I felt as if something was missing. I also would have liked it to be longer than just 6 chapters and an epilogue.
This is a fast paced read with plenty of steam. Lord Vissen aka Vice loves running his pleasure club, when he catches a spy trying to learn Fallen’s secrets to success. When he discovers that the spy is the women he once loved and left him, he plans to get his revenge. I liked the chemistry between Vice and Mari, the story has plenty of drama and held my interest throughout. I looking forward to more in the series.
Rated 3.5 stars!
Lord Iain "Vice" Vissen loves his life's work... running his pleasure club, Fallen. He works daily to make Fallen the success it has become. When Vice catches a spy inside Fallen's walls, he confronts them head on. One thing Vice is not prepared for is a blast from his past, in the very delectable form of none other than past love/lover, Lady Mairi MacNair.
Lady Mairi MacNair is in London for one reason only. She is helping her employer open a new pleasure club and her employer is emphatic about taking out her competition, Fallen. That is where Mairi enters... she is sent over to spy on them in order to improve upon "steal" ideas in order to get their club the most business. Imagine her shock and delight when she discovers one of the three owners is Vice. Suddenly, an old flame is re-lit and Mairi may not just make it out without getting burned.
THE SEDUCTION OF VISCOUNT VICE held a lot of potential for me. The storyline, the characters, the setting... all appealed to me greatly. I just wish there had of been a bit more build-up between our hero/heroine, Mairi and Vice. The backstory between them was all I could have hoped for and more and I very much enjoyed witnessing them get their second chance at love. Also, the adventures in Fallen definitely adding a very interesting side to the whole story. All in all, THE SEDUCTION OF VISCOUNT VICE is a captive read. I will certainly be going back to read the first two novels in the FALLEN series by author Nicola Davidson.
This is my first Nicola Davidson novel, and I am an instant fan! This had everything I crave in a Historical romance with all of the delicious naughtiness of erotica. I devoured this in one sitting, because I just couldn't put it down, and it was more than worth the lost sleep! This was a sexy, seductive, satisfying story of second chances. I have GOT to go back and read the first two in the series, now!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book from NetGalley & Entangled Publishing, LLC in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
Lord Iain (Vice) Vissen and his two friends own a pleasure club in London. It is only open to a very select and highly discrete section of society. He is a bit detail oriented over every part of the club even his own performances.
Mairi MacNair ran away from home years ago and now works behind the scenes for a woman who rescued her. That woman wants to open a new club and needs information on the one that is most fashionable.
This is an erotic historical romance, strictly for adults. The story line is great. Our protagonists have a very complicated history, and particular desires that might not be acceptable to some. For them to behave this way in that era was brave and for some of the secondary characters dangerous.
A story that will leave your kindle steaming. Great fun.
The Seduction of Viscount Vice by Nicola Davidson is Book 3 of the Fallen Series.
With a second chance theme, this sultry historical romance will take you on a heart-tugging journey as a dead lover is discovered to be alive. Secrets and lies are brought to the light as their undying love resurfaces and the never-doused flames of passion between Iain and Mairi blaze forth as they attempt to find their way forward. Will they capture their desired future or will all be lost? Sorry, but no spoilers here; you must get this fantastic read and find out for yourself!

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion. I enjoyed the book. It takes place in 1814 and the two main characters are Mairi MacNair and Vice (Iain) Vissen. Vice owns a Pleasure Club with 2 friends and Mairi is spying on them to learn what she can about their club to help her employer with the Pleasure Club they are looking to open called Worldly. In exchange for the information she is supposed to be given her chance at being a performer instead of a seamstress. The only problem is that Mairi knows Iain from her childhood and he thinks she died long ago until she is standing in front of him. The story continues but eventually changes and turns into something more between the two. I don't want to give away the story but have to say I enjoyed it. It's a bit hot and very descriptive. Anyone that enjoys that type of book will enjoy this one.
Loved Vice & Mairi, awesome story. I loved that they finally got together and she realized she paid her debt and walked out.
