Payback is book 2 in the Viking Bastards MC series. This is Gage, Zach's brother from book 1's story. This can be read as a standalone, but is better read in order. Amelia/Amy Davis/Crane was the daughter of the Enforcer for the Silver Wolves MC, when she was 15 years old her father was murdered by Axle Reynolds of the Viking Bastards MC. When she is presented with an opportunity for revenge against the Bastards she jumps on it, taking a job at Odin's a bar owned by Axle Reynolds son and Bastards member, Gage. Gage has a strict hands off policy when it comes to his employees, but when he meets Amelia, he isn't sure if he will be able to stick to his own policy.
I really enjoyed this book and the premise of this story, but the execution fell a little short. It had a lot of potential to be a 5 star book had the premise been strengthened. Too much of the premise was glossed over and minimized and the end of the story ended rather abruptly, leaving you with a lot of questions. The book was a fast read, was good, but would have been better if the storyline was strengthened up, and the ending wasn't so abrupt. Overall it was a good read, and I would recommend. Happy Reading!!

Book 2 in the Viking Bastards MC and this is Gage and Amelia's story.

Amelia is hell bent on exacting revenge on the people who she thought had a hand in her father's death, she never realised that she may have been lied to and used.

Gage doesn't date his workers, in fact he doesn't date at all, that is until he sees Amelia and all his rules fly out the window, so what happens when he finds out that he's been played.

Can the truth bring them together or will the lies keep them apart?

I loved this and couldn't turn the pages fast enough, I was captivated from the start, I read the first book and I'm looking forward to reading more in the series.

I voluntarily received an advanced readers copy from Netgalley and I choose to leave a review

amelia davis is intent on avenging her father's death at the hands of a rival motorcycle club. and gage reynolds is the key to her plan. the manager of bar where she finagles herself a job, the last thing she expects is to be so attracted to gage that all thoughts of vengeance fall by the wayside.

this revenge plan of hers is a bit full of holes if i'm being honest, but the chemistry between gage and amelia is super hot. even though he kind of knows that there's something slightly off about her reasons for working at the bar, he doesn't care because he's never felt this way about someone. and even though he has rules about mixing business with pleasure there is no way he can stay away.

when gage figures out that things are not all on the up and up with amelia, she ends up caught between rival club business. the chance that she might be in danger terrifies him. for something to worry him over the concerns of the motorcycle club is unprecedented. there are things from the past that tie amelia and gage together beyond their chemistry. and as their relationship deepens they realize that they don't want to be apart.

This is another book that I can add to my list of MC romances that I loved. Gage is one of the Viking Bastards who owns a bar and has a rule about nobody sleeping with the hired help. Well that just goes out the window as soon as Gage sets his eyes on the new girl, Amelia. They both feel that there could be a lot more going on than what’s showing on the outside but Amelia is actually there with ulterior motives. She has been told her whole life that Gage’s dad is the guy who killed her dad while he was in prison…and yes, that does mean that Amelia knew first hand of the biker life. Amelia has been waiting to get revenge for her father’s death and now that she landed a job at Gage’s bar things just got a lot more complicated.

I loved this MC read and the strong woman that Amelia was. The chemistry between Amelia and Gage was pretty intense and had me rooting for them to make this work but realizing that at any moment Gage will find out why Amelia walked in to his bar in the first place. I definitely am looking forward to more books on the Viking Bastards.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley for a freely given and honest review.

I really liked this book! A bit more of the MC side than the prior book but still not a hardcore MC read. It's sexy, rough, and full of twists that keep you turning the page. This is Gage's story. Gage is Zach's brother (Zach from the first book Hooked). While this one can be read and enjoyed without reading the first book, it was nice to have the backstory to this family.

Amelia is looking for revenge at first. She's been told all her life that Gage's MC was responsible for her father's death. With that in mind she applies for a job at Gage's bar. Her plans quickly change once she gets to know Gage. Will the past keep these two apart or will they find a way to have a future together?

Definitely a book I would recommend.

Payback is book 2 in the Viking Bastards MC series. I hadn't read the first book, but this one stood its ground on it own. This story is about Gage & Amelia & how Amelia wants revenge for her fathers death. I'm not going to go into the storyline as I think it's worth a read straight up. It was really well written & from both points of view. I do want to say that, for me personally, it was a little too fluffy for an MC book. I prefer my bikers to be gauge your eyes out, rowdy, sleazy men & the route that Gage took gave me toothache! Finally, this book was in dire need of an epilogue!! For sure worth a read people!! Although this wasn't my usual time of book, I still feel it's worthy of the 4/5* I've given it!

I love Christina's MC reads and this book was no exception! Amelia's dad has died in prison due to the Viking Bastard's president. Wanting payback, she gets a job at the bar the Bastard's hang out at to seek out the new president. As soon as Gage lays eyes on Amelia, he knows he must have her. Gage has never had a woman say NO to him so he has to learn to be patient and Date, something he's not done before. Amelia feels like she's disappointing her father's memory as she dates the "enemy". But she's fallen for Gage and is having a hard time breaking it off. This was an awesome read and I can't wait for the next book in the series!

ARC received for review

The book takes place right after Gage's brothers. Gage and Amelia have a "past". Well actually their fathers do. There's more drama and some MC action in this book than his brothers. Plus there's plenty of hot bedroom scenes, alleys, garages and a "bad guy" to take care of. Along with some emotional angst. This one needs an epilogue too.

Now will the next book be Kat, Gage and Zach's sister, or the silent MC Hawk. My vote is for Hawk.

If you like MC (Motorcycle Club) romance, you'll love Payback. Amelia is looking for payback from the man in a rival MC who killed her father 10 years ago. She goes undercover as a bartender in a bar owned by the man's son, Gage, to see what she can find out. The second she sees Gage she realizes that it is going to be hard to deceive him.. He's the hottest guy she's ever seen and he wants her badly. Gage doesn't date. He's got women waiting in line to do whatever he wants but Amelia is different and that attracts him. Great dialogue and red hot romance make this a great MC read!

Gage surprised me. From the beginning he's so gone on Amelia that he doesn't care what others think. He goes out of his way to take her on normal dates. While he comes off as a bad ass biker, he shows his more gentle side to Amelia everyday.

This story is some how familiar, but it also isn't. Don't want to complicate it. It sounds famimiar but there are twists and turns I didn't see coming. So not really familiar, I hope I didn't confude you.

I loved how sassy and strong Amelia is, she is the perfect match for Gage! Sometimes Gage his thought bothered me, but that's just probably guy thinking. That gift *SWOON* damn for a not knowing what he is doing he did great!

I would've loved a bit more family time and also with the mom. I don't know for me that is important.

Thank you Christina Phillips for writing this fantastic book! I hope you will write an epilogue! That's the thing the book missed

I'm not a big reader of MC books at all, but this book has probably changed that. I loved this story.
Amelia looking to settle a score for her fathers death while in prison. He was part of an MC club, his counterpart of a rival club was also in prison at the time. Her fathers death was blamed on him.
Her mother moved Amelia (Amy) and her two sisters away and they also took her mother's last name.
They were totally isolated and abandoned by the Fathers MC club after his death. Distance.
Amelia is contacted by someone from the past with word that Gage who owns Odin a bar and son of the man who allegedly killed her father is looking for help. He tells her Gage is running all kinds of illegal business and is in need of a bartender. So she applies and is hired. The minute Gage lays eyes on her is lust at first sight. Amelia keeps him at more than arms length for a really long time and I loved her. She was strong and the witty comebacks were as good as Gage's. Not to be outdone though, Gage really wants to get serious with her. He's never dated. They go on a date. He's so benign and almost clueless, but you had to love him. Amelia had long ago told Sloan (bad man) that the deal was off and she wasn't digging any dirt on them because there was no dirt to be had.
There's plenty of steam in this book too once these two finally decide to do the deed. Gage is panty melting, puddle making good.
When things come to a head, lies spill out, truth is buried and the whole picture becomes muddled between the two of them. You have to read the book to really get the full impact of the twists this story takes that Christina has written so well and how things unravel. No one is left innocent in this one.
What a great story this was, it's honestly worth a second read. Great story Christina!! Ready for book 3!

Another steamy sexy novel from Ms Phillips - Gage and Amelia just smoulder. It had the requisite bad-boy elements, but was surprisingly honest (not much of the biker posturing that you find in most of the genre) and heartfelt. I'm not a huge fan of the "double-crossing" type of storyline (sorry for spoilers!) so I really appreciated the levelheadedness and logic that Gage (eventually) showed - and didn't drag on the miscommunication, making it perfectly dramatic without tipping over into melodrama. Great work by the author!

Another great read in this series. This is Gage's story, and was just as hot as Zach's book. He meets Ameila in his bar Odin's where she started bartending. This book explains some of the history of the club and what happened to there dad when he was killed. Look forward to Kat's book to see more of the brothers and see what happens to Kat. Honest review in exchange for ARC.

"Underneath your good-girl gloss there's a bad girl trying to get out."

Yes, I'm an MC Romance addict, I admit it. I enjoyed the first book in this series and came back for more. While it's on the mild side as far as gritty club business goes, it's still got lots of goodness. It's short and sexy and will give you a few giggles and blushes. And, there's a secret that will keep you on the edge of your seat as you wait for it to be exposed. I had already met Gage, but it was Amelia that won me over this time. She's badass and it was interesting to know that she had a history in the biker lifestyle that she kept hidden. She understood the words and actions of the club members more than someone who hadn't experienced club life. It made her perfect for Gage, but he didn't know that, and she resisted their attraction. She was there for 'payback' and had to keep telling herself that as she lusted over her boss.

I really enjoyed the banter between Gage & Amelia. He's used to having women fall at his feet, but she put up a fight and made him work for it. She pushed all of his buttons and made him want things he's never wanted before. She planned to stick to 'nice boys' and leave the bikers alone. But one look at the sexy bar owner wearing his leather cut changed her blood pressure, if not her mind. Once the passion explodes and their lust is under control, will there be anything left to fight for, or about? Is payback still what she wants? Or does she she want something more?

Fortunately this is not the end of the series, so there will be more Viking Bastards MC to look forward to. The line forms here...

Payback by Christina Phillips is the second book of her Vikings Bastards MC series. I'd give this book 5 stars because even though Amelia wanted payback for her father's death she realized not everything is what she was told by her mother.

Amelia Davis is working two jobs plus working on her fourth romance book and she accepts a bartender job at Odin's which is owned by Gage Reynolds and the Viking Bastards MC. But she's there because her father who was a Silver Wolf's enforcer but killed by Gage's father while in prison. But what she doesn't know is that not everything is as it seems. But when a person from her past shows up with his own agenda against the Vikings what will she tell Gage about what he wants from her?

Gage Reynolds has a rule never date an employee but when he sees Amelia for the first time every rule can be changed right? When his brothers notice someone stalking Amelia and finds out that he is the son of the president of the Silver Wolves can he tell her the truth about both of their father's deaths? Or will both of them suffer because of lies told by both of their families?

I look forward to the next book because even though I've read some of the author's other books, I really love this series.

It has been awhile that I have read an MC biker book, and this one was pretty tame and I did enjoy it. Amelia wants to get revenge on the biker group who killed her dad, so she goes to work at the bar that is owned by them. Gabe is owner of the bar she works in and his dad was killed by Amelia's dad, but he does not know that because her name has been changed. He has a policy of not sleeping with someone he works with, but decides to make an exception with Amelia, because he thinks she is the most beautiful woman he has ever met. Amelia is confused because she is truly attracted to Gabe, but she feels like she is betraying her dads memory. They do get together and fall in love, but then Gabe finds out, that she was there for revenge, and feels betrayed. Amelia had already decided she could not go thru with it, but it ended up being too late. Gabe was truly horrible to her, and they break up. Then the truth comes out, what happens next, well you have to read it.
