Riveting story with strong, intriguing characters. This book reminded me of how much I love romantic suspense. Sure, I enjoy getting lost in a light, even angsty romance novel, but you can't beat a good romantic suspense novel. And this certainly fit the bill. Both lead characters are strong and likeable, and they had page-melting chemistry, which made their journey to love all the more satisfying. The plot is riveting...I stayed up late to finish this one, which is something I rarely do, but I could not stop reading. The main characters have a satisfying resolution to their story, but I hope there is a follow-up book for Santos and Gyselle; even though they were secondary characters, I was mesmerized by them and am dying to see how their story gets resolved. My only complaint is that there were quite a few distracting grammar errors, and they seemed get worse toward the end of the book; a proofread is definitely needed. This is the first book I've read by this author, and I'm really glad I found her.
I have really enjoyed author Shae Ross' books in the past- but this one was a little different. It had a more suspenseful storyline and was a little dark with the whole mobster/crime family vibe.
This is an enemies to lovers book with two really strong characters. I liked both characters a lot by the end of the book and felt like they had a great connection.
I can't wait to read more from this author!
