This is a little treat; especially for those into the menage type erotica. There was also plenty of twists and turns to the plot. I do think there could have been a bit more character development. .
Dean and Jack, married male contractors are very attracted to Paige, the owner of the B&B they are currently working on. Paige shares this attraction, but feels guilt over lusting after married men, assuming they are gay and not bisexual. It was fun reading about the sexual tension between these three. In addition to lust, this book offers genuine love and devotion in this threesome. Both sides face adversity requiring patience from the other.
Paige Richards is starting her life over after a divorce from a cheating husband. She's purchased a B & B on a touristy island. It needs lots of work so it great that she has some new friends, Dean and Jack, to do the renovations. They are married but after knowing them for a year, she has the hots for both of them. They were both attractive, kind, and her best friends. She knows she can't have them, but what's the hurt in fantasizing about them?? Life on this island is very conservative. Gays are barely tolerated yet along a threesome so what is she thinking? Plus her parents are just as bad! Very unsupportive! They loaned her some money for the renovations, but it is laden with strings! What she doesn't know is that Dean and Jack have been wanting her just as much-and for much more than just a few nights. They believe Paige is the one to make their lives complete. They don't want to hurt the success of the B&B or their friendship though, so they want Paige to come to them.
I liked this book for the most part. It started out gangbusters and I thought it was going to be a super sexy read. And the sexy scenes were pretty good. I liked Dean and Paige right away, but Jack...he was a jerk. Some of the stuff that came out of his mouth was awful. Things that you do not say to your girlfriend and chalk it up to being a guy-I don't buy it! One minute he is 100% in love with Paige and in the next he's cavorting with an ex. I also didn't care for the drama with the ex. Seemed like something just thrown in to put a monkey wrench in their pursuit of Paige. As if her parents and her hovering ex issues weren't enough, this wrinkle didn't help the flow of the story. In fact it pretty much stopped it quick. The other issue is the ending. The ex stuff is just kinda glossed over and then everything is peachy-keen with Paige again. Wha-What?? Paige is a strong girl, I give her that, but the back n forth was taxing. I thought she deserved a more solid ending than we got. I guess I just needed a little more convincing that Paige was the one for them. Maybe an epilogue with a fantastical celebration??
Overall I still liked the book and if you are looking for a spicy quick read, The Handy Men fits the bill nicely.

Well…
*coughs*
Wowzer.
Umm…
That was…
*coughs* *taps chin* How shall I put this?
Totally freaking HAWT!
Whoa, mama – cue hot flash *fans face*
I am a sucker for a good ménage story, and for me, this was a great one. Published under Entangled’s Scorched titles, this story was indeed combustible, but was so much more. My emotions became all entangled (see what I did there? *winks*) with these characters.
Having been burned before, trust doesn’t come easy to Paige Richards. Trying to take control of her life and forge a future for herself, she has put everything into the opening of her B&B. Failure is not an option. Especially not with the kind of parents she has. Talk about making me feel stabby!
“Love hurts. It’s sacrifice and pain. That’s how you know it’s real.”
Dean and Jack have all but given up on their dream of finding a woman to complete their tripod relationship. The last woman left them feeling slightly bruised but more committed than ever to each other. All that changes when Paige employs them to renovate the B&B. They know immediately they have found their one. Now they just have to convince her to take a chance, and entrust them with not just her body, but her heart. Easier said than done, right?
I loved how Dean and Jack were complete opposites. Jack is the joker of the two, with his dirty-blond hair and tattoos. Yet, I felt behind the smiles he was the one most vulnerable emotionally after their last attempt to find the one. He had me ranting at my kindle at some of the decisions he made – ugh!
Dean – tall, dark, and you’ve guessed it, handsome – exudes an intensity which could melt the panties right off you with just one look. He knows what he wants and directs all of that focus into getting the HEA he wants for all three of them.
With the aforementioned meddling parents, deluded exes and well-meaning islanders their path is not a smooth one, but some things are just meant to be!
This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. A good story with some super steamy scenes.
This was every woman's naughty fantasy right here, or I guess it was at least mine. I really enjoyed the romance and I definitely enjoyed the scorching hot sex scenes. The plot was pretty much predicatble but it was still fantastic with this set of characters. This was the perfect book for snuggling on the sofa and passing the afternoon away for a couple of hours. It was a fast read, but it was very enjoyable. I would recommend it to those who enjoy a unconventional romance with a lot of male on male action and the guys loving their chosen woman deeply.
I’m a sucker for MMF stories. And those with an established gay (well, bi…) couple looking for a female addition to be complete? Hell, yeah, count me in! I expected steam, hotness, passion and countless dirty deeds. And oh boy did I get that! And still … it wasn’t enough. Maybe it’s because I’ve read some really – and I mean REALLY – explicit and very descriptive stories these past weeks – all I know is I immensely enjoyed the hot stuff but wished for more. Lol. Yeah, I’m dirty and corrupted like that. Oops.
But although being novella-sized, THE HANDYMEN also did not lack storyline or substance. The characters were well developed, there was laughter, emotions all over the place, manipulation and drama. Side characters to love and hate and complications that this type of relationship evidently and realistically attracts. A twisty surprise that you won’t see coming.
Only the end seemed a little bit too rushed. Everything was solved too quickly and not at all at once. There was no real closure with one topic and too little time to explore another. A lookout sometime later as a last chapter / epilogue would have been desirable for sure.
What I did love was the dynamic of those three. Loved intense and vigorous, sometimes even aggressive Jack, more sensual and gentle Jack – they were perfect as they were from the beginning. Add Paige to the mix, how she completed them, enjoyed them to the max, and it got downright explosive. Loved their weekly game nights that somehow and suddenly got so much more interesting.
Wonderful stories that with a few pages more would surely have been a 5 star read for me.
Sizzlingly hot and yet also romantic; these guys are not jerks!
Page is a recent divorcee whose ex cheated on her. She is starting over with a new bed and breakfast business on an island off of Connecticut. Paige feels guilty for fantasizing about her two married gay male best friends, Jack and Dean, who also fix things in her hotel. Meanwhile, they have been trying to subtly give her a message that they want her to join their relationship. Jack and Dean feel like she could be the right woman for a long term equal partner.
I really like the fair, equal relationship among this threesome. They are all good people who respect each other. I also approve that Jack and Dean knew Paige as friends for about a year before they asked her to join their relationship and their bed. The author has a fantastic gift for sexual description as well as a talent for writing vivid characters that quickly make me love them. The book has cute banter as well as serious dialogue. This is the first book by Jamie K. Schmidt that I have read, and I can't wait to look up her backlist to see what I have been missing. I cannot imagine a higher quality book about a menage a trois in contemporary romance. I even like it better than Emma Holly's book "The Assassins' Lover", which was my previous favorite MMF romance (a paranormal one).
The multiple love scenes are hot, hot, HOT, with tons of variety too! The sparing use of curse words is right on target. The author also has perfect word choice to keep the scenes' mood and pacing going strong. I really liked the number of love scenes, which was enough for an erotic book but not too much to overtake the relationship development.
There are realistic impediments to the trio's relationship, but nothing in the novella is too gritty for me. There are plenty of moments of humor and coziness. For example, Paige felt so comfortable and protected when they hugged her. The guys, especially Jack, are a little rough around the edges, making them more like real guys while still being as hot as molten lava. The book is really hot but also really romantic. It is a novella length (141 pages), but it feels like a very complete and satisfying story. I love it! What a fantastically talented author.
I received a free advanced reading copy from the author via Netgalley, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
This was a quick steamy read, one that I did enjoy even though I had a hard time connecting with the characters. There were several different issues that the threesome had to overcome in order to get their HEA.
One of the problems the threesome had was her family, the other was a ex-girlfriend of Jack and Dean's. I would have been happy with one of the problems but both of them seemed to much.
The Handy Men is a smokin' hot MMF ménage. Jack and Dean are a married couple looking for a woman to share their bed and their lives with. The woman they want is one of their best friends, Paige. Paige is a divorced, 28 year old woman who is opening up a B&B on Hamlet Island, off the coast of Connecticut. Jack and Dean are the contractors she hires to renovate the fixer upper, and in the course of working on the inn, they become good friends.
Paige has been lusting after, fantasizing about, Jack and Dean since she met them, but she figures since they're a happily married couple, they have no interest in women, let alone herself. But, she couldn't be more wrong. They've been plotting ways to get her into their bed, but she hasn't picked up on the fact that they're not only bisexual, but that they want her specifically. Things finally come to a head (he he, see what I did there? ;) one night while there's a storm blowing over the island and the three come together in a hot & steamy encounter. Paige, though, as much as she loves being with Jack and Dean and is halfway in love with them already, has big problems in the form of her controlling, conservative, bigoted parents, who have loaned her money for her inn, and have the ability (and the will) to demand complete repayment if she doesn't conform to their wishes exactly. That means, no associating with a married gay couple, let alone sleeping with both of them. And then there's Stephanie, Jack and Dean's former lover, who has a big secret that has the ability to tear their relationship with Paige apart.
I like Paige, Jack and Dean together, and their connection is both electric and believable. I especially like Dean, he's a sweetheart and really takes Paige's feelings into consideration most of the time. Which is a contrast to Jack, who is pretty impulsive and thoughtless a lot of the time and ends up hurting Paige (and sometimes Dean) because he speaks without thinking first. I didn't like when the three had their breakup, even though I knew it was coming, because it seemed unnecessary and the guys were both thoughtless as to how it would affect Paige. Thankfully it was figured out without too much heartbreak and angst.
I wish there had been an epilogue, because I'd love to know what the three have in store for their relationship further down the line. Are they still together? Do they have kids? Have Paige's horrible parents and horrible ex husband left her alone? Have the busybody islanders stopped gossiping about Jack and Dean, and Paige? I want to know!
3.5 stars for me on this one... I love a good MMF romance but this one got a bit too complicated for me at times and also I had moments where I wanted to reach through the 'pages' and yell at Paige for putting herself in certain situations or doing certain things!
Kind of ended with a HFN ending and left me wanting more - it had started out so well and then after everything that transpires I wanted to know if they truly made it as a trio...

The Handy Men is short, sweet and to the point all wrapped up in some hotness! I’m not gonna lie, at first I thought it was just going to read like a moment in time because of the length of the book. I didn’t think the author could pull off unfolding a menage relationship in such a short amount of pages…but she did 🙂 There were some aspects that could have used some depth, but overall, it turned out well done. There’s not much to say except this is an MMF relationship and not an MFM, so if that’s not your thing, then you should probably not read this story. But if it is 🙂 prepare for serious hotness!!

This was a quick, hot and sexy read! Paige is the owner of a soon to be bed and breakfast. Jack and Dean are happily married to each other but are still missing that special link. They think Paige might be it. But with this town and conservative views is she even interested much less willing to take the risk.

Having read this author before it had been awhile since having done so. I usually will read her in another genre but she can write in any. Wanting a little spice and a bit different I received it in this one. Jack and Dean can get you motivated but when Paige enters the mix you are now down for the duration. Paige has their talents for her inn but they want hers for them. At first I thought it would be all heat but no it has a tale to go with the heat which makes for delightful reading. Along with that there is sprinkled humor to make for a well rounded read. Of course everything is not peaches in cream on the pursuit on their end , wrenches are in there with attitudes along the way. All in all this is a great book to sit for a time like a short vacation at a adorable B& B.
This is a fast-paced ménage read, loved the story as well as the characters. Dean and Jack are already married however they want a woman to complete their trio. Paige is newly divorced and starting over by opening a Bed and Breakfast on Hamlet Island. Jack and Dean are helping her fix the place up. Can they convince Paige that she is the one they are looking for? Entertaining and steamy read, I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it.
I love menages books! And if we are all being honest to ourselves who wouldn’t be thrilled to have all that attention?!
Jack, dean and Paige’s story was just was I needed, the fact that the guys where in a M/M relationship just made things hotter, I did enjoy their solo scenes and little moments.
I find it hard to explain what I love about this type of books, their connection was just perfect and the sex scenes where Hotter that hell.
The characters where developed just enough for us to get to know them and enjoy their little quirks.
Paige got stronger as the story kept developing, mostly because she let go of her inhibitions, but she also found herself again after her ex's betrayal and became the woman she was always supposed to be. She was done taking crap from people.
I received this ARC copy of this book from NetGallery for an honest review. I give this book 5 stars. I whole heartedly recommend this book. I couldn't put it down and it was "Hot". The storyline between Paige, Dean and Jack was well written. The best part is that they started out as best friend's first. This is the first book a have read by this Author and will continue reading them.
Let me start by saying this book is more a 3.5 star review.
There were a few issues with the plotline that annoyed me. It jumped between things too quickly. It was like the author was too interested in just writing a dirty book. Stephane and the baby shouldn't have run that smoothly. The issues the boys had with the small place didn't get answered or even shown. I think three people in total said something. I would have loved the author to write more to explain these issues.
The book was focused on the sex and nothing else which was a huge disappointment. I don't think I will pick anything up from this author again.
I will admit when I saw that this was a shorter story and a menage, I was thinking it would be filled with a lot of sexy times and not too much of a story, but I was pleasantly surprised! I found myself actually tearing up for Paige and the crap hand she'd been dealt. I loved how protective Jack and Dean were of her and they tried to do the right thing even though it hurt Paige. Paige's strength and determination to not let her past rule her made me love her. She wasn't a weak person and she proved herself over and over again in this story. My heart broke for her and then when the three of them ended up together, I was so happy. I'd love to see more to this story as the small town accepts this non-traditional family. It was really a great read!
Paige's life hasn't turned out the way she expected, she's twenty-eight divorced and now the owner of a Bed and Breakfast on Hamlet Island.
She spent 10 years married to Fred most of it as a glorified maid and unpaid administrative assistant, while he was out banging Barbie.
Paige has now sold her house, bought the bed and breakfast and is starting again this is helped by the two amazing handy men she has working for her Jack and Dean.
Jack and Dean are married and totally in love with each other but they'd like a woman to share, a mrs to their mr's and Paige is that woman, they're both agreed now they just have to convince Paige.
This started out so well. Jack and Dean are hot and Paige is desperately missing sex so she's not going to be able to hold off for long.
Firstly I really liked Paige she stood up for what she believed and refused to change to please the gossips and even under extreme pressure she handled herself well.
I loved that Dean and Jack were so solid together and that they wanted Paige and went all out to get her and that Paige was so into both of them. The story was moving along well and this combined with her ex and his surprising nice fiancé (yes I found it impossible to dislike Barbie despite the fact that she was the other woman)
There's also Paige's parents but the less said about these the better.
This was set to be an enjoyable little read but then it all started to fall apart.
Paige hears that Jack and Dean used to both share a woman, Stephanie who wanted to marry Dean and keep Jack on the side. But she left town pregnant when Dean married Jack and not her.
#### SPOILERS ####
Stephanie returns and wants to pick up where she left off although she's happy for Paige to be part of the mix.
And this is the part I didn't like.
Jack is up for this and while you could argue this is the natural response after all Stephanie is a very attraction woman who fits well with them sexually but it's not the response I wanted.
They have Paige, they know her history and yet they've pushed and she's finally onboard why risk it?
Plus this is a romance and I want the romance.
So Jack has a meeting with Stephanie and Dean lies to Paige about where Jack is. Now this was wrong on so many levels especially considering her husband had lied and cheated for years I expected these two to be more sensitive than that.
And then after everything
“Paige, Jack and I have been talking.”......
“We should take a break.”
WTH?
I also felt the ending should have had some form of ceremony or party I felt Paige deserved more.
####
Despite the spoilers this is still an enjoyable little read.
