Staci McLaughlin's Blossom Valley Mystery series is getting better and better. As Dana is in the final stages of planning for her wedding to Jason Forrester she unwittingly becomes a suspect in the murder of her bridal florist. Soon suspects abound, and I was kept guessing until the suspenseful end. Dana's surrounding cast of characters are getting more likeable with time and I can wholeheartedly recommend 'Marriage is Pure Murder'.
Cute book, points I found it boring. Once the murder happened the book picked up, an easy read with hints of humor! You will love Wilbur the pig! Super cute ending !!
This is book 6 in the Blossom Valley Mystery series and it's always nice to return to such a pleasant setting and visit old friends. Dana and Jason's wedding is just days away when Dana's appointment with her florist turns into a murder investigation. The police think Dana was unhappy with the flowers and killed Bethany in an argument. It's discovered that Bethany is blackmailing half the town so the list of suspects is long. A well written mystery with characters that could live next door. You don't need to read the previous books in the series but you gain some insight and background if you have. I enjoyed the farm and spa tips as well as some good recipes.
This is a fun cozy mystery!
The sixth installment of the Blossom Valley series finds our protagonist and sleuth, Dana, preparing to marry Jason, a reporter for the local newspaper. However, her wedding plans take a bake seat when Dana finds her florist murdered in the flower shop. As one of the few people who spoke to Bethany, the florist, on the day of her murder, Dana becomes a suspect and undertakes her own investigation to get to the bottom of the mystery.
This is a fun read – perfect for a weekend on the farm, at the beach or at the cottage. The organic farm and spa that Dana works at was the perfect escape for me from my busy work schedule. The setting is fantastic, the characters are easy to follow, and the pace of the mystery and its resolution was absolutely perfect. I really enjoyed the relationship between Dana and her sister, Ashlee, as well as Dana and her mom. As well, McLaughlin has possibly created the best animal character in a cozy ever- Wilbur the pig! I LOVE Wilbur – he is awesome, and I loved his role in the novel. It was cute without becoming overbearing.
This reads perfectly well as a standalone, but I will certainly be picking up more Blossom Valley books to read. Perfect for the cozy fan who is craving a light mystery! And well, Wilbur – enough said!

I enjoyed Marriage is Pure Murder. It's a fun cozy mystery. Dana Lewis works at an organic farm and spa in California and is getting married to Jason, a reporter in the town of Blossom Valley where they both live. Her florist, Bethany, is working with her on her flowers for the wedding, but Dana finds her dead in the back of her store. It turns out that Bethany might not have been the good citizen everyone thought she was, and the list of suspects for her murder gets longer and longer the more Dana investigates.
I liked the setting of the book, and the writing was good. I felt that Dana was a scattered sometimes, and never really figured out her motivation for solving the murders. The ending was funny and overall the book was a good read. I recommend it.
Marriage Is Pure Murder is the sixth book in Staci McLaughlin’s Blossom Valley Mystery series. Ms. McLaughlin provides great background information, which allows this book to be read as a standalone. This book is a well-plotted murder mystery with a cast of well-rounded and realistic characters. The writing style flows smoothly at an even pace and the book is an easy read, with no graphic violence or adult situations. There are enough suspects, twists, and turns to make it difficult to figure out whom the killer is and keep the reader engaged. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading cozy mysteries.
Dana Lewis is a marketer for O’Connell Organic Farm and Spa in Blossom Valley, California and when time permits, she helps wherever needed. She’s preparing for her nuptials with Jason Forrester, who is the lead reporter for the Blossom Valley Herald. The venue for their wedding and reception is the farm because that’s where they met. There’s a problem with the bridal bouquets order and Dana has to meet with her florist, Bethany Lancaster of Don’t Dilly-Dahlia Flower Shop for the second time that day, but when she gets there, the shop is closed and the front door locked. When she goes around to the back, she finds the door unlocked, and sees Bethany lying on the floor and knows she’s dead. Detective Palmer views Dana as a suspect and even though she knows she should stay out of the investigation, she can’t stop herself and is determined to clear her name and figure out who killed Bethany. Dana’s mother, who always tells her not to investigate because it’s dangerous, also gets involved. Dana’s investigation reveals Bethany is a blackmailer and she uncovers secrets others are desperate to keep undisclosed.

Blossom Valley, California is the setting for this incredible mystery by Staci McLaughlin.
Preparing for her wedding to Jason, Dana is busy organizing her big day and working as the marketing director for the O’Connell Organic Farm and Spa.
Having the wedding at the farm makes sense and the lovely, quiet setting couldn't be more perfect.
The last thing she has to do is finalize her flower order and prepare for her magical day.
Stepping into the Don't Dilly-Dahlia flower shop should be easy, however, what Dana finds will soon rock the small town and make everyone look suspicious.
Blossom Valley is full of secrets and someone loves to delve into people's lives, dragging their secrets out little by little, until they reveal all. Is this the reason for the murder? Did this person dog to deep?
Find out May 30, 2017 when Kensington Books releases this fantastic story.
