How this has sat in my TBR pile for this long is a mystery to me. This short story captured my interest from the very beginning and the story became so intense there was no way I could stop reading until the end. Jeffery Archer is a master and this is definitely worth the read!

Not my favorite of his. I could not get into it and honestly, I skimmed a lot.

Great story, could barely turn the pages fast enough. As someone who lives on the outskirts of London this was brilliantly written. Had no idea how it would turn out and definitely ended up out of breath at the end.
I would recommend this to everyone

Jeffrey Archer could publish a phone book and I would love it. Seriously this man is talent times two.

very fast story, it takes couple of minutes to read , but leave you with great twist. It shows why this writer is one of the best in his field.
P. S his best book was Kane and Abel .

A great little read. What more can I say without spoiling it? It's a short read. Good for fans of Jeffrey or anyone looking for a quality time out.

Great story! I love Jeffrey Archer's writing and this is a gem of a story. It starts out calmly - no drama - then ramps up the suspense with every word right up to the stunning conclusion!

"Never Stop on the Motorway" is included in at least two Jeffrey Archer story collections: The Collected Short Stories and Twelve Red Herrings.

Heavy traffic gives Diana time to think about her failed marriage, but when she can finally reach highway speed, her euphoria is unsettled by a thump after a small animal darts in front of her car. She stops and, soon thereafter, a vehicle begins to tailgate her. She can’t shake the driver and begins to fear that she will be the next victim of the killer who recently cut a woman’s throat on the same road, prompting police to warn motorists not to stop.

This is a fast-moving story with a mildly surprising ending. It creates tension in a predictable way and develops about as much characterization as could be expected in a relatively brief story. I was hoping for an ending that would be even more surprising, but the ending that Jeffrey Archer provides isn’t one I expected.

This is a pretty good re-telling of a well known urban legend. It has good pace and plenty of suspense, if you don't know the legend in question.

3.5 stars. Clever short distraction. I've never read Jeffrey Archer. Not sure this is representative. But it was worth the 15 minutes of my time. Can't say much more about something so short. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an opportunity to read an advance copy.

I'm a big fan of Jeffrey Archer and jump on anything that he writes. I didn't realize this was a short story and don't usually read them because I read really fast and need long novels to keep me interested. I did read this in twenty minutes but found it thrilling, I wish it was longer. Quickies can be nice.

This story is very short, only about 25 pages, so it is a very quick read. Even though short it is complete. There is suspense and Diana is a fully developed character. This story will keep you on the edge of your seat but not for long.

a short story by jeffrey archer, one of the most difficult things to do is write a brilliant short story, and this one is exceptional, it has all the elements that is needed to quickly bring you into the lives of the characters with background information and then to bring the story to ahead in just 25 pages....

diana is a single working mother who has a free weekend and every so often she spends that time with friends on their farm, she is delayed from leaving work but continues on with her journey which because of traffic is stop go stop go
once outside of the city its plain sailing to the farm...but diana never suspected what would happen next...she accidently runs over a cat..and being the good citizen she stops to check if the cat is alive...and so the nightmare begins
a black car follows and intimidates and frightens diana as the driver is much to close and wont lower his beams on his car..what follows is an horrendous car chase right to the farm
i have to admit to having my heart in my throat and at this car chase wondering how it would all finish and i never suspected the ending in the month of sundays
jeffrey archer has written an amazing short story that gets all the emotions going...well worth a read
