This was my introduction to Zanetti and her Dark Protectors Series. I really enjoyed this novella and am planning to go back to the beginning and read this series from the start. Thanks for the introduction.

I loved the Dark Protectors series and any chance to get one more story from that world was good enough to get me excited.

Now, Talen, is technically not a new release. It was originally a bonus novella in the back of one of the spin-off Realm Enforcers series. Talen is a bridge story between the two series and reads best after the end of Dark Protectors and fits just as the other series is getting under way.

I got so excited to see this was a fun Talen and Cara story. Twenty-five years after they become a mated couple, they are still a fun pair to read about. Talen is still a dominant, pushy vampire and Cara is still doing her level best to teach him a thing or two about strong, spirited females. They are supposed to be headed out on their first vacation alone since the war and Cara’s illness is over, but nothing is ever simple or easy for the Kayrs family.

Loved this exciting peek-in with Talen and Cara and a few other series regulars for a great cross-over story that may be novella length, but its developed and complete. If you’re a fan of action-packed passionate paranormal romance, but haven’t read the Dark Protectors, take a gander at those and prepare for a good time.

I rec’d this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first time reading Rebecca Zanetti and while this story ties to a couple of her series (Dark Protectors to the Realm Enforcers), I felt I could follow the couple's journey from where they started to where they are now. Fast paced, well written and most enjoyable. I am now off to start reading both of these series

This is a great book; this book is part of the Dark Protectors series written by Rebecca Zanetti. The war is over. Danger has passed. Cara Kayrs is healed after decades of illness and ready for a break.Too bad her brooding, alpha vampire husband can’t seem to change gears. In their twenty-five years together Talen Kayrs has learned to sense every shiver of her body, to ignite her desire with a word or a look. She would think he could learn she’s not some fragile damsel in distress. But Talen is on edge, watching their backs, treating her like she’s made of glass. Like there’s something following them, a deadly threat that somehow none of their intelligence has uncovered. It’s enough to drive a woman crazy, and Talen has plenty of those tendencies already. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Action packed and sexy. I love Rebecca Zanetti and I love novellas about past characters, so I pretty much loved getting an update on one of the most popular couple in the Dark Protectors series.

After decades of being sick, Cara Kayrs wants to take advantage of her newfound health and the fact that the war is now over, but her worrying vampire mate feels she’ll be exposing herself and that they still can’t be too careful. Can she convince him that she’s fine now and that after twenty-five years of being together, they should take some time to just relax?

Vampires love once and forever, and for Talen Kayrs keeping his mate safe is his first and most important priority. Especially when his senses tell him that there’s still a threat to them that no one else has picked up on. Can he protect his beloved even when she’s incapable of following orders and still be able to give her the freedom she craves?

Isn’t it great that we get an update on couple who’ve been together for 25 years and are still very much in love? That also means we get to see their children in action, in particular Garrett and his best friend Logan (demon), as well as lots of fast paced action sequences to go along with the all the sexy times.

Talen is novella #7.9 in the Dark Protectors series by Rebecca Zanetti. It is a paranormal romantic suspense that links together the Dark Protectors and the Realm Enforcers. Told from both points of view.

Talen by Rebecca Zanetti is like a visit with friends since Talen and Cara started the Dark Protectors Series off. The time frame between the first book and this novella which is 25 years with so much happening during those years. I see this as a bonus story for die-hard fans of the series but not a stand-alone book.

Talen is still the over the top alpha male that he has always been. Cara just as strong-willed as ever. This marriage will also have confrontations between the partners. It is front and center her as the story begins. However, it is not long before you realize that world peace in the Dark Protectors realm is as hard to achieve as it is in the human world. Great novella to tie the Realm Enforcers and Dark protectors together.

Catching up with Cara and Talen Kayrs.. 4.5 stars!

A novella to tie in the Dark Protectors and Realm Enforcers series, Ms Zanetti brings back a most endearing and beloved couple whose story started the whole thing from the first book, Fated. After twenty years together and having survived a war between vampires, demons, and shifters, Talen and Cara Kayrs are more in love than ever, and their bond stronger.

Even after two children and granddaughter, and with the war being over, Talen and Cara are in an unsettled phase. Talen is used to being in protection mode. Cara is healthy and survived the deadly virus that attacked bonded mates, and she’s feeling at loose ends. She hasn’t had the chance to try out her “immortal” thing yet, still unsure what lies in the future for her which the subject brings a bit of tension between her and Talen. Cara is eager to get back to work as a scientist and help humans combat disease, bringing the advanced technology learned from the Realm. But Talen feels there is still an element of danger out there, and he’s not about to loosen his defenses when it comes to his mate. Talen’s instincts prove correct when they are attacked by demons.

I really enjoyed this novella and found the resolution to the threat perfect. I love the intense and sensual chemistry between Talen and Cara, and how he reassures his mate by taking her in hand when she gets snarky and disobedient. Huh, that was fun to read. I like how the author includes a bit of immortal tidbit that, though Talen is centuries old, he doesn’t look any older than 32, and Cara looks 25. This is a great addition to the series.

I received an ARC copy from Kensington Books via NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed this book.

This is a really great book. According to the author, it ties the Dark Protectors to the Realm Enforcers, which are 2 of her series. I’ve not read all of those but I could still figure out most of what was happening and why. This book is a short story about Cara and Talen, as they are getting ready to go on vacation. There’s a lot of exciting things happening as they leave on their trip. This is a fast paced book that has a lot happening in a short time period. But it’s so good. Talen is learning a lot about his mate that he didn’t know! Cara is such a strong woman who is finally learning to stand up for what she wants! I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s short but very good. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book that I received from Netgalley.

I love getting a glimpse into Talen and Cara life after the war. It's time for a vacation but Talen is still on edge and can't quite trust all is well. Cara was sick for so long he also still finds himself treating her as if she is still unable to care for herself, even tho she has been training to defend herself for a while now. Something is off in their marriage and both struggle to regain what is missing. This is a novella, short and action packed. To me it is not a stand alone because I feel if you have not read at least their book in The Dark Protectors series you don't know what they have been through to get to this point.

It was so fun to re-visit with Talen and Cara the first couple in the Dark Protectors Series. It's been 25 years since they met and mated and while they still love each other they have to figure out what happens now that the war is over. Talen is still an alpha and after Cara being sick for so many years his protectiveness is in overdrive and Cara doesn't want to be treated like someone who is fragile. It also turns out just because the war is over doesn't mean all the danger is.

This short book was so much fun and I loved seeing a realistic glimpse of Talen and Cara 25 years later. They still adored each other and the sex scenes were hot but what I really loved was that it was realistic. Everything wasn't perfect and there were things they needed to work through together. I also loved seeing Logan and Garrett who I absolutely adore. The last scene with the boys and Talen and Cara had me laughing out loud. I wouldn't read this as a stand alone but if you're a fan of The Dark Protectors don't miss this little gem.

This is a novella for fans of the Dark Protector series. Talen and Cara have been mated for 25 years but for most of that time Cara was ill. Now she is well and wants Talen to quite babying her. Cara is a great character who is showing many traits and longing common to women everywhere. Taken is just a big old overprotective male. Turns out Cara is in danger and how Talen and Cara handle that danger is at the heart of the story. A nice short read for Zanetti's fans.

A quick, entertaining, and intense jaunt into the Dark Protector world. Just when you really get into Cara's excursion into dangerous world she's been protected from since her mating to Talen ends way to soon for me. I really wished it was longer...what can I say, I eat up every story from the Dark Protector world and TALEN Kayrs story was no different.

It was great to see Cara show what she is made of outside the lab with her son and her husband by her side and boy does Cara and her husband know how to set the pages on fire even after all these years of mating.

Talen by Rebecca Zanetti
Dark Protectors #7.9
Realm Enforcers novella 3.?

The author mentions in a note at the beginning of this novella that she wanted to write a crossover novella linking her Dark Protector and Realm Enforcer series together. After asking her Facebook street gang who they would like to hear about in a novella linked to Wicked Burn two names dominated – Talen & Cara – so this is the story she wrote. Not having rea any of the Dark Protectors series but having read all of the Realm Enforcers series I was curious to find out more about the series I have not read. So, when made available on NetGalley I requested a copy, received one, read it and now will review. I will say that Talen is a heartthrob alpha male for many in the street gang so can see why he and his mate were chosen for a novella.

With peace for all humans and other it is time for a road trip to take lab samples from one location to another. Talen and Cara are in charge and plan to take a vacation to Hawaii once they drop off the cooler with the items being shared. Of course a peaceful journey is not what they get and instead there are demons on their trail that want the samples and seem willing to do just about anything to get the cooler. Friendly werewolves are called in for assistance, children of Talen and Cara’s children make an appearance (as do others in the series I have not read) and eventually the culprits are exposed and dealt with in a positive manner before the trip to Hawaii can occur.

This was fun story and no doubt will be even more fun for those who have read the Dark Protectors series because they can catch up with Talen & Cara, their children and a few others while also being introduced to Rebecca’s new series – if they have not already started to read it.

5 - "Baby, you can bite me anytime." Stars!

Talen Kayrs… just the name gets me a little bit… damp.

IMAGE.

Rebecca Zanetti hit all the right girly parts when she gave her readers the tall, dark and deadly, alpha-vampire at the beginning of the Dark Protectors series, and over the twenty-five years that the series covers to get to this novella, my love for the guy that blossomed from his first introduction in Fated has never waned, I don’t think it ever will.

The Realm is now supposedly at peace, and Talen and Cara decide its high time they take a little sun and relaxation in Hawaii, their journey to sun, sea and sexy-times as you would expect is anything but clear-cut, and this little novella gives the reader a further Kayrs adventure as well as giving you the opportunity to catch up with a few characters from the series.

"You should never run from a Vampire…"
"Why not?"
"We can’t help but chase…"

The chemistry between Talen and Cara is still there between them in spades, and I have to say reading this novella, made me want to go back to the beginning and read the series again.

"My soul is yours..."

If you are a fan of this series, you will not be disappointed, and like me I am pretty sure you will be left desperate for more from the Dark Protectors series as a whole, I don’t think I’ll ever tire of it.

ARC generously provided via Netgalley, and it was my absolute pleasure to provide the above honest review.

I will never get tired of this series. Unfortunately, the vampires, demons and shifters have found peace. Oops, I mean, Yay! The Realm is at peace! So when Talen and Cara run into all kinds of attacks as they attempt to deliver tissue samples that are to be used in the research of unmating vampires, their vacation looks like it’s going to be postponed. There is also the little problem they’re having of finding a happy balance now that their daily lives do not revolve around war anymore.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this novella full of action and adventure even as Talen and Cara communicate through plenty of nonverbal conversations. As always, Talen (my favorite by the way although Max is a close second) is one big, strong, and intense alpha vampire and nothing is going to harm his woman, even the decisions the little lady in question makes herself.

Thank you Ms. Zanetti for an awesome bridge between The Dark Enforcers Series and The Realm Enforcers Series.

I was SOOOOOO excited to read this book. I mean seriously if you have been a fan of the series you want to read about Talen. But then I thought “Didn’t I read Talen’s story already?” And Yep! I have in Wicked Burn.

So that being said I kept reading. Yes I had already read this novella but did that stop me from reading about Talen again? Not on your life!

I am a huge fan of Ms Zanetti, and have read all of the' Dark Protector' series. As a matter of fact it is one of my all time favorite paranormal reads. This book I really enjoyed because Talen and Cara are my favorite characters within this series. It is great novella about how Talen and Cara go on after the war is over. Now that Cara is no longer sick with the virus, she needs for Talen to break his over protective nature and allow her to live a life she feels she needs. It has some of our favorite characters making a brief appearance in this novella. Enjoyed it a great deal.
