Always enjoy this author's descriptions and scenery as the tale unfolds about Amelia and Royce and their bumpy ride to love. Can visualize the fauna and heat of Australia. Good addition to series
Ebook from Netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

Her Australian Cattle Baron by Margaret Way
The Australians #2

Romance set in Australia starring two sets of siblings – Royce and his half-brother Jimmy AND Amelia and her adopted sister Marigold. The plot was predictable, the depictions of scenery gorgeous, the characters like many I have seen before and for the most part I felt I was reading a book written decades ago – perhaps formulaic is the term I should use to describe this romance. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books – Lyrical Shine for the ARC. This is my honest review.

Ms. Way's love stories set in the Australian outback take me back to my teenage years when I first began to read her stories. Royce Stirling is a cattle baron who runs his cattle station like the feudal kingdom it is. His young half brother has always tried to measure up to him and failing ends up in love with one woman but married to her sister.
Unfortunately for him the moment Amelia meets Royce sparks light up the air between them. It appears to be pretty mutual though her sister's mercenary ways and lies come between them. Can the two of them find their way to a happily ever after?
This is a romance so of course they will but the journey is interesting.

Family Ties and Loyalties
It is some years since I last read a book by this author but I did remember that her descriptions of the Outback (and particularly the wild flowers after rain) were sublime and I was not disappointed. Amelia meets Royce when she travels to his cattle station for the wedding of her younger (adopted) sister, Marigold to Jimmy (Royce's half brother). We are never told Jimmy's age but from various timelines, he can be no older than 19 and whilst I can understand how he got trapped by Marigold (who is around 23) I am surprised that Royce didn't do more to talk him out of the marriage or, at the very least to insist on a prenup. The relationship between Amelia and Royce is very similar to other novels by this author and therefore rather predictable but if you have never read any of her other books you will enjoy it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

Having never been to Australia I could appreciate the very detailed descriptions of landscape and history, although it seemed to take away from the story a bit. I found myself skimming pages for the lessons to move on to the storyline. Two strong and intelligent people find themselves having to deal with the aftermath of the wedding of their siblings. Marigold is a troubled young lady, having been adopted by Amelia's family as a child they made her family. Her husband, Jimmy, is in love with her sister who is in love with Royce, Jimmy's brother. The story is very much a soap opera type with the triangle, psychopath and insanely rich family. However I never really understand the attraction between Royce and Amelia. The conversations were dry, cruel and without feeling yet she's in love with him and him with her. I'm not sure if it was meant to be sarcastic at times or just his alpha personality but Royce did not seem friendly. I received an ARC from Netgalley and my review was written voluntarily.

*** 3/5: Liked it, through and through

A good escapist read, a story as dramatic as the Australian land it is set in.

REVIEW FROM BOOKS FOR HER:

Royston Stirling has wealth, power and a gorgeous ranch in Australia's Channel Country. When his younger brother weds a devious woman, Royce finds her sister by adoption, Amelia, a confusing contradiction. Can the two overcome their siblings' distrust? Set in the sexy, hard ranch lands of Australia - you can't help but fall into a story as dramatic as the land. Margaret Way's latest novel is a quick reading, sexy romance.

Amelia Boyd is accompanying her adopted sister, Marigold, to visit the beautiful Australian manor, Kooralya. Marigold is about to marry Jimmy, the brother of Koolralya's owner, Royston Stirling. Royce is a handsome, brooding man who is eager to meet the two ladies. It soon becomes apparent that there is a problem between the prospective bride and groom. Amelia feels a strong connection to Royce, even with his arrogant personality and rude demeanor. Royce is also attracted to the beautiful Amelia and decides that he must be with her. This is not just a love story! There is a GREAT plot with more turns than a mountain highway! I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it to those who love a good romance and a free tour of Australian cattle country.

Her Australian Cattle Baron by Margaret Way will be available on June 27, 2017 by Lyrical Shine. An egalley of this book was made available by the publisher in exchange for a honest review.

My first book by Margaret Way and I enjoyed it. Great writing, characters and story. I liked the Australian cattle station, outback and history that was included in the book. It was a different kind of love story to what I'm used to reading but enjoyable none the less. It was full of secrets and lies that all come out in the end. I'd like to know what happens to the characters next.

Always enjoy a good Australian romance from the venerable Margaret Way! I started reading her books years ago when my romance obsession started (i.e. Harlequin!).

This book is a sweeping romance that encompasses two families and many characters - one being the Stirling's who are a wealthy Outback station establishment.

This book follows the two Stirling brothers and the two Boyd sisters. Quite a tale and saga but highly entertaining and, as all Ms. Way's books are, a thrilling look and mini history lesson into the beauty of the Australian Outback.

Not a ton in the way of steamy scenes (but did not expect them) but an engaging story all the same.

Don't hesitate to give it a read!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book via NetGalley.

I am a huge Margaret Way fan but this one was a miss for me. It lacked the chemistry and passion between the hero and heroine which Ms. Way usually hits dead on. Little disappointed.
