Broken Bay is something very different from what I normally read. I've read another book by Andrea Dunlop and I was intrigued about this one. The book is that: intriguing. It is a very interesting novella where you get to know different characters with different stories and you get to see another side of marriages. These girls are all in a big house in Broken Bay for a Bachelorette weekend, then the bride goes missing and some weird stuff is happening in the house. I can't say more about the story but I can say that it's written in a very interesting way and you can read it very easily and fast. I liked it and liked the ending and everything it meant. I'd like to read more of the author's work for sure.
This is a great suspenseful novella following a group of women friends who get together for a bachelorette weekend on a secluded island. No cell phone coverage. Their house might be haunted. Did I mention a storm is on its way? What could go wrong, right? The story is realistic and a real page turner, I was most impressed by how Dunlop distinguishes between the women so the reader doesn't get them mixed up. There's a lovey sense of setting as well.
To Note: It is a chick-lit with a bit of thrill and a hint of paranormal.

I generally, find short stories quite underdeveloped and the plot changes in there, abrupt. But this novella was well build and very well written. It had everything covered by the end. The story ran smooth and was so compact and compelling.
I utterly enjoyed the converation between the bridesmaid which ran from marriage, infidelity and feminism.
This story has many layers and was quite fast paced and easy read. I'm very satisfied with this novella.
It is hardly 100 pages and I read it in one sitting. A perfect(and must) read for summer
I felt that this book lacked substance, character and plot. The character dialogue was especially ineffective, and should be edited to reflect the age of the characters. 1/5 stars.
This novella had me hooked from the beginning as it was fast-paced and the characters felt like old friends. So many great lines about being a woman in your thirties. I don't think I see the "Lost" reference, but there is a supernatural element to the story which made me sit on the edge of my seat. Highly recommend!
