Cute stories that children can relate to, and that make great springboards for further discussion!

I like this book it is simple and delightful, teaching us, yes I said us as in adults and kids, sound moral values, such as being honest and not deceiving and hurtful to others by playing tricks. These moral teachings would aid our kids in building solid and stable character foundations. The stories are vibrant and amusing, I love how the author used the animals and insects to tell the story, this book is quite memorable and filled with rich characters.

This is a charming book of fables for those who like to consider the deeper meanings of the stories they read. Fables for Wisdom Seekers Young and Old is a fantastic resource for teachers as each fable has a collection of discussion points and extended writing activities to accompany it. Some fables are more challenging that others but whether this is used for simple storytelling or as inspiration for further class work there is a great deal to be gained from the content of the stories.

This is not just a book for educators, however, I think the talking points would be very useful to extend understanding and encourage interpretative thinking skills at home. There are lots of interesting and thought provoking conversations to be had here and this collection is suitable for the whole family.

I well chosen collection that I would happily recommend.

I enjoyed this book and sharing it with my preschool students. My only word of caution to educators is, as always, is to proofread first. Some of the fables, while I had no issue with either morally or developmentally, were either too complex for my students to follow or parts to scary. Like the one about being different and the spider who died. I have some students who would have cried at that point.. This is honestly not a criticism of the book -- just a reminder that kiddos process differently. Thanks!
