This book will suit preschooler or early school age kids, who may lack the courage to face new challenges in their life. I love the simple illustrations and the inspirational messages directly sent to readers.

This book has a sweet illustrations, more like children's draw and I believe children would love to read it.

The message delivered nicely, about how it is important to be brave. Kids can read it by themselves or parents can read it to them.

Be Brave Little One is a beautifully illustrated book for children ages four and up. My little one enjoyed the colorful illustrations and rhyme. The theme is one that is so important for little ones. To learn to be brave in all that they do.

The watercolor illustrations show a diverse group of children, which I appreciate. I would have liked to have seen differently-abled children represented as well but it was nice that racial diversity was celebrated.

Overall, I appreciated what the author was trying to accomplish. This book encourages children to have courage when they try something new.d. To have the bravery to be true to their own self. In a world where conformity is the norm, I appreciate a book that encourages a courageous approach to life.

My child's thoughts:
"I like this book."
"I am a very brave girl!"
"I like the pretty pictures."
"Read it again?!"

'Be Brave Little One' by Marianne Richmond is the kind of blessing most of us wish for our children. It is told with warmth and colorful pictures.

The story wishes bravery for the child. Bravery to try new things, and to try again when failures happen. To be friendly to new people and look for new opportunities. To bravely stand up and explore and return home.

It's a cute inspiring story. It wants to rhyme, but seems to misstep, and that always bugs me. The pictures are really cute and the message is a good one for young children.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Sourcebooks Jabberwocky and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

Oh so cute! Love the illustrations. A mother tells her little one, in rhyme, to be brave, to try things, to have courage, to stand up and step out. What better message could she offer???? I really like the theme of this book. As a teacher of Preschool and Elementary aged children I believe this is a very important message for our little ones.

"Be brave to sit down and say hello." Don't be afraid.
"Be brave to keep going when going is tough."

Mostly, "Be brave to BE YOU..."

A very good book!!! All the stars and I highly recommend it. It celebrates the power of courage in every child (this little part is on the back cover). It is recommended for ages 4 and up.

Thank you Sourcebooks and Netgalley for a digital copy to review. Very pleasing for children and adults too!

So inspirational! Love the illustrations! Sure to bring a smile to many little ones faces. This would make a great gift for a child going to preschool or kindergarten, or even 1st grade. Or on a trip alone to visit family elsewhere. First time going to camp or sleep over- great book!

"Be Brave Little One" is a charming, slightly pedantic, ode to being true to yourself and the different ways of being brave. With simple, almost child-like, watercolor style illustrations that perfectly illuminate the rhyming text, "Be Brave Little One" exhorts young children to be brave, take chances, be willing to fail, to try again, to do what is right for you, to think big and think small. It encourages them to listen to their heart as well as their head and that's it's okay to do your own thing. The pictures present boys and girls, white, black, Asian, and Arabic for a fairly decent diverse representation. It's a sweet book, light on story, and a little to heavy on message, but I think most 3, 4, and 5 year olds would enjoy it.

This book is perfect for age 6mos to Kindergarten. Delightful, encouraging and illustrated well.

I wasn't loving the pictures or the typeface. There were also parts of the prose I didn't care for as I felt right out it gave permission for a kid to give up. It's fine if an activity isn't for you, but I think the tennis part showed the girl giving up to early.

How far will I go?

What things can I be?

When I get to choose what brave is to me.

This is an adorable book with an important message for children. Every year I read my class 'Oh the Places you'll go' by Dr Seuss at the beginning and end of the academic year because I think this message is so vital - it is your choices that make you who you are and you can go anywhere you want to go.

That is not to say that everyone is given the same opportunities or that all dreams may achieved as easily others. However, I do think that it is essential for children to believe in themselves and to learn to pick themselves up after failures.

This book is similar in the message it is sending but may be suitable for younger readers the Dr Seuss book has some quite tough language and concepts which can make it a difficult text. I love both these books and will be using them with my class!

A lot of my friends are having babies at the moment so this would make a lovely Baby Shower present too. :)

Be brave to BE YOU on your journey begun.

Let your heart led the way...be brave little one!

What I liked: Style of illustrations, the positive message, the acknowledgement that things will sometimes go wrong and we need to keep trying.

Even better if: It is lovely just as it is - I would pair it with other texts sending similar messages.

How you could use it in your classroom: Read it to children and link it to their personal experiences - what challenges have you faced? How have you overcome them? What is your dream? What could you do today to get a bit closer to that dream?

Such a great book about courage and learning to try new things. The illustrations are fun. Cannot wait to purchase for my picture book collection and read for storytime.

This book reads as a beautiful letter of love from a mother to her child, encouraging the child to give things a go even though it might not be right the first time, be brave to be quiet, loud, to be YOU, and to be scared and say HELLO. It is an encouraging book that is telling you that it is ok to be different, to cry and to smile; all the things a parent wishes for their child.

This book is very positive and puts in perspective how much we change to be accepted by society but as a baby there are so many possibilities ahead. It talks of what a mamma wishes for her baby and how much she loves her and hopes that she can express how she feels in the future.

The illustrations are very simple but do well in not distracting from the beautiful words, and illustrate the message of the book.

A beautiful love story from a mamma to her baby.

This is a sweet book of a parent telling a child to be brave in everything that they do. Whether it be trying something new, exploring the unknown or expressing your feelings. I really enjoyed this book. The illustrations were really well done and there was diversity in the children depicted. This is a good book to teach children to be brave and to be themselves. I will definitely be picking up a physical copy when Be Brave Little One hits stores.

What is bravery? to try something new? to explore the daring unknown or to keep going when the going is tough.? Marianne Richmond describes bravery to children so eloquently with the use of truly magical illustrations. Be Brave Little One is an amazing learning tool that children will love.

This charming book is written in rhyme and would be a perfect choice to share at a graduation ceremony.

A loving mother offers advice to her young daughter as she journeys through life. She encourages her to listen to her heart and the wise little voice inside of her. She tells her to take risks, do the right thing, and never fear to step out of her comfort zone to do something brand new, innovative and out-of-the-box.

The title of Dr. Seuss's book.... "Oh the Places You'll Go" applies as the little girl's aptitudes and dreams are set free. The mother's desire for her daughter is to explore, discover and be empowered. She urges her to follow the desires of her heart wherever they may lead her.

This book has a positive, uplifting message and will inspire a child to reach for the stars and be all that they are created to be. Highly recommended.
