The Irredeemable Prince by Alyssa J Montgomery

Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and author for sending this digital book for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.

When life gets a bit crazy it’s nice to destress by reading a nice easy romance. This book managed to sneak into a little digital corner of kindle and hide away until I’ve recently tweaked a few settings and realised I should have read and reviewed this book a couple!! of years ago. Oh well, better late than never.

Even though this is the second book Alyssa Montgomery’s Royal Affairs series, I read it as a standalone and didn’t feel that I had missed key information. Reading this has piqued my interest to look out for the others and give them a read.

Devereaux (Dev) is out every night, a different blonde in his arms and the paparazzi always get their next day’s front page shots. Gabriel, The King of Santaliana, has had enough and hires an image consultant to improve his brother’s public image.
Mackenzie is brought in and she gets to work on a very reluctant Dev. She’s good at her job and doesn’t buy his public persona and does a little digging; his private persona is at odds with his public image – and he’s got good acting skills!

I honestly thought this would be something along the line of a much used trope (royal meets commoner and falls in love with a HEA). And to some extent it was. The plot twists meant my poor dog had to wait an extra hour until I’d finished the book before she got to go on her morning walk). The last part of the book went way too fast; it could have benefited from another 50 pages to round it off.

Sometimes I just need to read an easy romance. Especially when life gets really busy and crazy. So it seemed the perfect time for me to read ‘The Irredeemable Prince’. And who doesn’t love a romance story involving a prince? Although this is the second book in the Royal Affairs series, it can be read as a standalone.

In ‘The Irredeemable Prince’ we meet Mackenzie, a young woman who is really good in creating the perfect image for people. And a new image is definitely what Prince Devereaux of Santaliana needs. At the moment he has the image of a night-club fanatic and a player who has a new girl every night. And his brother, King Gabriel has had enough. Mackenzie is one of the best in her work, but there is definitely more to Prince Dev than meets the eye. And the attraction between the two of them is definitely coming of the pages.

‘The Irredeemable Prince’ was definitely a very nice romance. It was easy to read, but this book also has lots of twists and turns that I didn’t expect at all. Especially in the beginning of this book I loved the chemistry between Mackenzie and Dev. I really couldn’t stop reading, and I just wanted to know more about these characters.

Although the twists and turns kept going throughout the book, I did found the last part of the book going way to fast. It felt like things were a little rushed and I really wished the last part was a little slower and more detailed. The chemistry in the beginning in the book was great, but I missed that in the ending of the story.

Overall, ‘The Irredeemable Prince’ is a fun read. And it definitely sparked my interest for reading the rest of this series.

Deveraux needs to learn a thing or two about being a proper prince, and so he has to give up all this bad boy shenanigans..

But he never imagined his proper training would be something even better than what he had to give up.

I was super excited about this book!
But it ended up not being the type of book I usually read.
It had more suspense and a little bit more of a twist then I am use to.
But over all it was an alright read. :)

This was the first novel I have read from this author, I really liked it. This novel was fun to read. There was a great story, who doesn't love a Prince. This novel had lots of twists and turns, I loved it. I loved Mackenzie the heroine. I loved that she was smart and was strong. Dev the hero, was more than just spare heir. I loved that he was so much more than he appeared to be. I loved his huge heart. I loved the two of them together.

King Gabriel stormed that his brother's behavior had to stop -Prince Devereaux /Dev. King Gabriel had trade dealings with Middle Eastern nations in two weeks . the leaders of these nations placed the utmost importance on strong family values. The trade deals will have a far reaching impact on employment and wealth of their kingdom. Since Eden their older sister had been murdered Dev had gone from reprehensible to almost irredeemable. Gabe had never got over the death of his pregnant wife Angelique and swore never to marry again. He told his brother Dev he would have to produce the next heir to be king or queen of their country. Then Gabe told Dev he had hired an image consultant for Dev. MacKenzie/ Mac was to be Dev’s consultant and he didn’t want anything to do with changing his image but he did MacKenzie and even though she said no her body said she wanted him too. But Mac had fallen for a playboy just like Dev when she was eighteen they had been engaged and he was like Dev a playboy and she had caught Dev cheating on her.
I liked this story a lot. I was glad that Dev wasn’t the playboy he portrayed himself to take down a drug selling family . But it sure played havoc with Mac. I loved Mac’s little girl Eliza she definitely added to this. story and I chuckled a lot over her escapades. I was happy when Mac found out the truth about Grayson. All and all a good read i loved the plot. I also loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I recommend.

The Iredeemable Prince is not what I was expecting. There were surprises that threw me, but in a good way. Prince Devereaux de la Croix is the spare heir, the second born Prince, brother to King Gabriel. And the King has had enough of Dev's antics, antics that are constantly written about in the gossip rags, making the family name, the whole kingdom, look bad. So Gabriel does what any good King (and older brother) would do, and tells Dev he better straighten up or he'll be cut off from his royal allowance. He even hires an image consultant to fix Dev's image.

When Mackenzie meets Dev for the first time, she's mistaken for a maid, and Dev makes no effort to conceal how attracted he is to her. Mac's no simpering female who throws herself at royalty, though. She sets him straight, even if her body is urging her to throw herself at his feet and make her way into his bed. But, she's there to do a job, and it looks like it will be a difficult job, because Dev is just as bad as he appears in all the newspapers and gossip sites.

But, The Iredeemable Prince is unique, and twists and turns that Alyssa throws in will surprise even the most astute reader. I certainly wasn't expecting the suspense to happen, but I have to say that they lifted this story from what otherwise would have been standard issue royal fluff of naughty Prince meets girl, charms girl into bed, and makes her fall in love with him even though he has a horrible reputation for sleeping with all the women in his kingdom. Dev is so much more than he has appeared to be. He's much more three dimensional, has a huge heart, and not nearly the playboy he's made out to be at first. Mackenzie is a solid character, with a backbone and brains. She's the perfect match for Dev.

The Iredeemable Prince is well written with solid, likable characters, good pacing, and a unique, surprise filled premise. I am hoping there's more to come about this world, a story about King Gabriel, perhaps?

Prince Dev is a playboy out enjoying life to the fullest. Mackenzie Roberts is an image consultant hired by Devs brother, King Gabe, to help with his public image. Dev mistakes Mackenzie for a maid, and immediately puts the moves on her. Having been burned before, Mackenzie rebuffs his attentions... initially. I liked the story line quite a bit. It had a bit of humor, mostly thanks to Eliza, that I appreciated having mixed in. In a way, it went in a totally different direction than I anticipated. I liked the resolution to Mackenzie's past. I did think the characters could be a bit long winded at times, but I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Alyssa J. Montgomery novel “The Irredeemable Prince” was quite a surprise for me as I never felt that the story was going to take the twists and turns that it did. The characters are well developed and the storyline fast paced. King Gabriel has had enough of Prince Dev and his antics and so he hires a consultant to improve his image, in the hope to find him a wife. Mackenzie Roberts is called in and what follows kept me very entertained, such that I finished this in one sitting.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This was a very enjoyable read. I maintained my curiosity as well as my interest through out the story. It is a unique perspective as well as tale of royalty and life. A romance that has such a pull that you want to understand the different nuances so it keeps you reading until you get the entire background. I must say the characters in this were very interesting as well as imaginative! I am delighted to have been able to read the ARC of this one. I think I would like to have more from this author so shall be following her to see what is next. I was given this ARC in return for an honest review. Anna

First book I've read from this author. And I am now curious about the rest of her work.

The irredeemable prince meets a woman that makes him think twice, thrice about his reputation. Chemistry between then and a slightly unexpected twist adds a nice spice to a popular storyline. Things are not always what they seem.

Went through this book in two hours...with breaks. It made me curious enough to want to finish it. :)

A truly surprising and electrifying contemporary romance, it had all the classical characters of a contemporary but yet there is something undefined that captivates you and binds you until you have reached the end. This book is how should I say it, I’m going to come straight out and say it, it’s hot, this book is practical steaming with romance, the excitement is palpable you can almost literally feel it. Well after taking a glass of cold iced water I have to say the storyline is well-defined and the book is well written, Mackenzie and Devereaux are a combustible couple, in all this has been a most enjoyable read.

Although I enjoyed this book I wasn't drawn into it 100%. The plot seemed a bit of a stretch, especially where Prince Devereaux was working undercover for MI5 and Mackenzie Robert's past fiance was one as well. The two characters were likable however.

Devereaux has the world at his fingertips. He enjoys all life has to offer and until he is given a royal mandate by his King to change his image from the philandering play boy to a productive member of society. Securing an heir is all he was asked to do but what woman would find him redeemable? Max Harper is an image consultant who had difficulty not saying what was on her mind. Dev makes her question her ability to change his image and become a beloved member of the royal family. Can he actually leave his past behind and become the person who his brother sees glimpses of? The chemistry between Mac and Dev is off the charts and they complete one another in every way possible no matter how hard they fought the attraction to one another.
