I liked the curious tale of Gabrielle was a good time travel novel with a switching body experience but I felt that it should have been one or the other. In terms of the time travel aspect I felt that Ruby Red did it much better.

I quite enjoyed this read. I'll likely read future installments.

Just not a writing style I can get behind. It feels as if it was written for middle grade or lower, yet the main character is 13. I also had a difficult time understanding the setting. I thought she was running down a dirt road-- maybe in an older time in a different place, then she mentioned she moved from Texas which flipped my understanding upside down.

I don't understand why she was running and bumping into people just to finally psych herself up to go into a store -- a store that DOESN'T sell anything.... weird. Wait you don't need money? I'm hoping that is answered later, but I couldn't convince myself to keep going.

So, I'm giving up. Still two stars because I'm sure someone else may enjoy it, and the story itself may not be bad, but it for sure is not for me.

had a hard time getting into this because the beginning felt kinda slow and I had to drag myself back to it from time to time, but once the pacing picked up it was a good read but I do hope that it's easier to get into the second volume.

On Gabrielle's thirteenth birthday, she walks into town into an antique store that she feels mysteriously drawn to. When she goes inside, she doesn't see anyone until after she finds a silver bracelet inside of a drawer in a piece of furniture. She then meets the store's mysterious owner, who gives her the bracelet as a gift. She soon finds out that the bracelet allows her to experience the lives of it's various owners as if she, herself were those people. The story is rather dark, and intriguing.

Gabrielle puts on a bracelet and finds herself thrown into someone else's life. At first she thinks she is dreaming but everything is so realistic and the emotions she feels are so strong that she starts to wonder if her old life was really the dream. The bracelet is telling her a story of the past and in the end she has an almost impossible decision to make.

*I received a free copy in exchange of an honest review*

I'm going to be honest. Lately I've been choosing books based on the cover.(I know I shouldn't), so I was lucky that this book was beautiful both inside and out.
At first I was like, 'I don't understand anything, what's happenning?!' But then everything made sense and it was marvelous. I'm just dying to know what happens to Gabrielle! I just connected with her curious and fierce nature hidden by her shyness.

This is great historic YA with a weirdly entrancing fantastic turn featuring an extremely curious young lady.

This book was a little slow for the most part. There was the element of mystery that kept me reading it, trying to figure out what was going on with Gabrielle and why and how she was being taken to another time. That being said, it was an interesting story regarding the time travel and I do intend to read the other books to see where else she goes.

On her thirteenth birthday Gabrielle determined that she was going to finally complete the exploration of her new town-- that meant being brave and entering the strange shop filled with curious objects.Once she has entered and made her way through part of the store she is introduced to a unique woman who owns the shop. Having also found a bracelet that the woman claimed had been lost for quite sometime her brief adventure, unknowingly, becomes something of a life changing event. With the bracelet in her possession, once she falls into a fitful sleep, she is transported into another time and into another body.

As time passes and she comes to love the people in the place she is at she begins to question if her life before might have been the dream. If only she could find out why she hears that clicking sound and what keeps inhabiting the people around her, those red eyed somethings.

In the end Gabrielle must decide on continuing the adventure and learning more about the bracelet and it's story or returning home. I'll let you find out what she chooses, but it is going to be interesting.

Something to note, though the protagonist is thirteen the story line can sometimes veer into the violent.

Oh I loved this book. Absolutely everything about it. The characters, the plot . . . you get the idea.

The author certainly has a way with words. His descriptions were amazing and so interesting.

an unexpected and interesting read. A lot shorter than I would usually pick up but having started books 2 I suspect it could have made a single book rather than three singular ones, we shall see.

A positive for the shortness was the pace at which the story moved, never a dull moment and I'm intrigued to read more.

Ooohhh this book was amazing! I loved the plot and the settings and the characters. I enjoyed how there were so many questions to be answered, but we learned them along the way instead of right away.

YA tale of fantasy and adventure. Recommended for younger YA readers.

The Curious Tale Of Gabrielle by Zachary Paul Chopchinski.
Thirteen-year-old Gabrielle was given a mysterious bracelet for her birthday. She went to bed as a normal teen but woke up in another time, as another person.
When demons appear, Gabrielle's dream adventure turns into anightmare. But is a nightmare adventure better than just existing in your mundane life?
A good read with good characters. Little slow in places. Netgalley and weaponry co-op.
