I haven't read a Rachel Harris book in a while and for the life of me, I can't figure out why. But when I received the chance for an ARC of The Nanny Arrangement, I jumped at it. And I was not disappointed.

It's incredible how even with adult contemporary romance, you don't really need the explicit love scenes to be touched to your very core by a love story.

Hannah and Deacon have always been very close. Since the moment Hannah approached Deacon when they were teens, something was there. They were best friends, they cared deeply for each other. They were both complete idiots. Well, kind of.

Deacon, always protecting Hannah at school when she was the social pariah for her stutter, became superman. Naturally. And Hannah was always there for Deacon, supporting him and encouraging him to chase his dreams. She was therewhen his ex (and Hannah's friend) left him at the hospital with their newborn. And she stepped in, cared for and loved Max as if he were her own. Forming this pseudo-family unit of their own, only without the romance.

But now that Deacon is Blue's fiddler/keyboardist and is going on tour with the band, fulfilling his life's dream, Hannah will be joining the group as the band's nanny. After a year in Paris, distancing herself from her feelings for Deacon, her goal is to find her happy.

The dynamics of this story is nothing short of adorable. I enjoyed every part, even the annoying ones where Deacon is being a complete idiot. Men. I loved the glimpses of the other couple's lives, the kids scenes were cute as hell and the F2B is, as always, perfect and on point with Rachel Harris's style.

But most of all I loved how deeply I felt everything Harris tried carrying through.

While I didn't read the first book, I assumed this could have been read without it. I'm not sure if that's true, or not. The story mentions a lot about the past but doesn't actually offer up much of what exactly happened, and I can't know if that is mentioned in book 1. Why I assume it wasn't is because I think it's a different couple from this couple here.

Another aspect I didn't like of this book was that many times I kept going "how did we get here?". Indeed, how did we get there, one moment we are going to a hotel with Hannah and Deacon and then next its like a different day and an entirely different scene and while the chapter broke it up I had this happen in the chapters as well. We would be reading about Deacon and his feelings and then suddenly he's at a fan meet and greet signing. How did we get there? Was he reflecting back to his time with Hannah in the previous day? It wasn't clear at all.

Hannah and Deacon's love doesn't completely shine through especially with their long long internal monologues. They both have feelings for each other but both are held back by different things, a sense of duty, a sense of self worth, a sense of pride, and a sense of hurt. This gets annoying and could have been cut down in half. I personally don't enjoy books with tons and tons of internalizing, I prefer a lot of dialogue to break it up.

While the story is mildly engaging I found myself board, wandering and not wanting to finish it but I knew I also did want to finish it. The story isn't bad, it just could be tightened up a bit.

Hannah is a woman who as a child struggled with a stutter, homemade clothing, older parents and constantly being bullied. Deacon has absent parents who enjoy the bottle more than him. But we never experience these feelings with him, we never feel these things with him or understand quite how they impact him. One day Hannah decides to go outside and talk to Deacon. They become fast friends BFFs who have always loved each other. It's alluded to there being a reason that Hannah fled to Paris, but it is never exactly expanded on what just happened, as though we are just supposed to know unless of course this is mentioned in book 1. Either way a refresh would have been nice. Eventually Deacon gets signed on to a country band named Blue and Hannah is asked to be a nanny for the band. One of the band members has a daughter and another one on the way and Deacon, well Deacon has a son named Max. And so Hannah becomes their nanny while the band is on tour. This allows Deacon and Hannah to possibly go beyond the friend zone.

Anyways, while the book has book parts and bad parts I just wished it was cleaned up a little bit more. There is definitely potential here for sure.

This is a sweet but rather slow story. Hannah and Deacon have been best friends for years, always the other's rock and support. Deacon doesn't know his own heart and after a stint away in Paris, Hannah decides if she doesn't push to get Deacon to see her as a woman she'll always regret it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

This is a fun contemporary romance that I just loved. It grabbed my attention from the very first page and kept it until the very last page. I loved Hannah, the wounded duckling from school - the girl with a stutter and that only wore thrift store and hand made clothes. As we all remember, kids can be cruel and they were horrible to Hannah when she was younger which left her as a very insecure woman.

Deacon was her only true friend through school, but he's only ever seen her as a friend. Now he is the fiddler for a very popular country group and a single dad. When the band goes on tour, he recommends Hannah be hired as their nanny. Once there, Hannah is determined to seize her happy.

This is an entertaining and enjoyable read following this unlikely pair of friends. I particularly loved how Hannah, despite being insecure, is willing to take a chance and reach for what she wants most. Fans of the genre will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.

I enjoyed Hannah and Deacon. Boy was he fighting the feelings that were so obvious to everyone who saw the two of them together. This was a fun read and I loved the fact that the kids had voice throughout the story. I may have to go back and read the first book to see how that transpired.

This was truly a contemporary romance that had the doubt, back and forth on worth and desire.

Great first by this author. I enjoyed this keep denying his feelings love story. Hannah & Deacon have been best friends forever, he's been her superman....her hero, who stood up to the bullies teasing her through life. She's his calm, his rock, always there helping him. Now back from a yr away in Paris, Hannah has decided to finally go after what she wants & that's Deacon & his young son Max. Becoming the nanny for the famous country band Deacon now plays with is the first step. But somethings never change & Deacon is still denying his feelings until the day he really hurts Hannah & things then change. Very well written & kept me wanting to keep reading until finished. Will be looking for more by this author. Definitely recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Nanny Arrangement. It is well written. I had not read book one and that did not pose a problem.

The Nanny Arrangement by Rachel Harris is the second book in Country Blues Series and is scheduled to be release on May 22, 2017 by Entangled Publishing, LLC. I really enjoyed this women’s fiction romance novel. I found that I got lost in the story very easy. The writing style Rachel Harris as gives you such a clear picture and you feel like you are there. The story starts with Hannah and her best friend Deacon as childhood friends. While this is the only chapter and backstory for them, I feel the story could have evolved more if there was more detail of their childhood together. The author likes to set up the stage for you with character build-up and narrative writing. Hannah is the nanny for Deacon’s son while he is on tour with his band. The book takes you chapter by chapter through their love story and includes Deacon’s son Max. Overall, I found this book a very sweet romantic read that I highly recommend.

I didn't read the first book in this series but I found that this book offered all of the back story required.

Hannah and Deacon's relationship is one of BFF to Lovers. Yet there is an additional adorable complication in the form of a toddler. All of the what ifs would not only affects them but affects the child as well.

The story has a push and pull throughout. Lack of confidence on both sides amplified by fear of regret and fear of failing. I found that I was on the fence with liking Deacon. he seemed to have a huge chip on his shoulder and I didn't understand. his layers were not revealed soon enough for me to be cheering for him. Hannah on the other hand was sweet, shy, and you wanted her to find her happiness without the heartache. I found myself laughing at her antics, cheering her on just like her friends in the book. I enjoyed the supporting characters as much as the main ones. They brought an additional depth to the story line.

Genre: Romance, Women's Fiction
I saw the Rock star connection and clicked, well its an Entangled book and I know from past experience I enjoy those. What missed me was its a Bliss imprint, and though I enjoy those, I do find them a little sweet, cute, and short on the drama.
That's how this book worked for me, great characters, interesting story but very low key, muted dramatics. I was hoping Krista might throw some fireworks in but....
Hannah's lovely, a very genuine person with a great heart. Like any kid who's a bit different she was bullied at school, and as I know from experience kids can be cruel and that does affect confidence long term. That's how it was for Hannah, outwardly she's fine but inside always waiting for the drop.
She's been a great friend to Deacon, wanted for a long time to be more but he seems to have her firmly in the friendship zone. Now she's determined to have one good try at getting his attention instead of always waiting and living with regrets.
Its a fun read, the toddlers are cute, the other band members great and Deke and Hannah? Well its clear they both feel for each other but neither really thinks the other is attracted, there's lots of inward musings about what if, maybe, can I? etc. Deke's worried about Max too, his little son who adores Hannah, and concerned that if he makes a move and it goes wrong Max will lose Hannah, and he doesn't want to risk that. there's times when I just wanted to shriek at each of them "go for it, can't you see what he/she wants?" but of course that would end the book a lot sooner.
Its an enjoyable read, well written and perfect if you like a sweet, simple romance with a decent backstory. Me? I really like more fireworks, sparks, drama, and sadness I can wallow in. I enjoyed this but as a one off read, but of course as always what I want isn't necessarily what you want.

Stars: Three, good story, well written but a bit light for me.

I have always enjoyed the stories that Rachel creates and I was pretty excited for this one. Especially since it was a BFF to more story.

I loved Hannah and Deacon. She's sweet and he's stoic and it works. They have such a history and it was fun reading them navigate this new portion to their relationship. And one of the best parts was seeing the characters from the previous books.

My only complaint {if you could call it that} is that I wanted more of them together. They were adorable in their scenes, but it felt like we got more of each of them thinking about the other instead of actually being with them.

Of course there was the push away and the grand gesture and thankfully, the angsty times didn't last too long. The epilogue was perfect and left me wanting more. I can't wait to see who the next book is about.

I enjoyed this cleaner type of music tour romance book. Meaning, most times it's drugs, drinking, partying and sex. The Nanny Arrangement seemed to be more about the family side of what can happen while on your.
Hannah is determined to find her happy. She knows where to find it, she just has to get Deacon to realize that it's her that he's needed all along. And more than just friends. What better time to show him that she's changed then while on your with his band and having to share the same tour bus.

Before diving into this one I decided to read the first book, and I enjoyed it very much. Hannah and Deacon were mentioned in that book when the band needs a nanny during their next tour and Hannah offers.

Hannah and Deacon have been best friends for years and it broke her heart when Deacon never saw her as more than his friend. She was always there for him and also his little son when his girlfriend ran off. But now she has decided to put it all on the line to 'find her happy' and find if there can ever be more between them.

I really liked Hannah and it was great how the heroines of the first book and from an earlier book (Ella and Sherry) teamed up with her to give Deacon that push needed to open his eyes. The writing is good and even without stesmy scenes it is a full out romance. A story with heart.

I received an ARC via Netgalley and this is my honest review.

The books in this series have been awesome, and I'm happy to have helped with one! I loved these two a lot, because unrequited second chance, nanny...just some great tropes! The story is sweet, romantic, and yes, I might have shed a tear or two! Just LOVED it!

And yes, there's a character named after me, but I'd have loved it anyway!
