Holland O'Dell is a woman in a "man's world" at Cody Technology. She takes an entry level sales job in an effort to get an opportunity for her to have a shot at her ideal role. Holland is in the process of trying to update an existing software with a new application, all while keep it hush hush, as the men in the sales department were always taking advantage of others. Holland works a lot of late nights in an effort to make her dreams a reality.

Oliver Cody founded Cody Technology while in college with the help of his father, Adam. A freak accident killing both his mother and father causes Oliver to learn that his parents were not his biological parents, and he was adopted. This broke Oliver and caused him to spiral into a great despair. He took off for several months, spending time away drinking and not feeling. When he returns to Cody Technology, he is drunk and upset and acting out. Oliver doesn't know if he can step back into the CEO role.

A chance run in with Holland sparks something in Oliver, as she doesn't recognize him as CEO. Together, they help fine tune the software changes Holland wants to make and Oliver starts to remember the feelings he had when the company began. Their journey together and separate was rocky, but it ends on a good note.

3.5 out of 4 stars.

MR. BIG - Delancey Stewart

HOT and FUN! - 4 stars

Plot - 4 stars - When Oliver's parents are killed in an accident, he comes back to be CEO at his family's business, much to his dismay. But as he's struggling with some unexpected revelations and his complicated feelings, he is attracted to and meets Holland, one of his employees. When she asks for his help with redesigning one of the company's original products, they are drawn closer to each other despite their better judgment.

Writing - 4 stars - The writing was light and easy to read and very entertaining. It was easy to be pulled right into the story because the characters are attractive and relatable. They have a comfortable relationship that makes sense, and the reader is able to understand their feelings and motivations.

Characters - 4 stars - Oliver is a good hero--not the typical overly confident alpha male, but a strong man who is floundering, questioning his life. Holland is very appealing. She's seemingly self-confident, but having been part of the foster care system as a child, she also has some doubts and overcompensates as a result.
Their connection is immediate, but it's not overwhelming, just a slow and steady buildup. They worked well together, and the misdirection about his identity is fun and, of course, ultimately ends up causing some problems. Although they are not equals, I liked the respect they showed for each other.

Title - 4 stars - This is obviously an abbreviation for Holland's nickname for Oliver--Mr. Big Dick CEO. I appreciate the restraint in the title and the cleverness of phrase.

Cover - 4 stars - HOT! 'Nuff said.

Overall - 4 stars - This was a very entertaining and enjoyable book. In many ways it's a typical contemporary romance--we know who the main characters are right from the beginning, we know there will be a happy ending. But the semi-office environment is a little different. And Oliver's situation is unique and provided a bit of mystery to keep me interested. I liked their easy-going relationship right from the beginning and was certainly rooting for their success. This is a new-to-me author, and I will definitely look for more from her.

"Mr. Big" had an interesting premise and I was looking forward to read this book.

Overall the story was enjoyable and I also liked the characters although they were a little bit clishée. My problem with the book was mainly that there was too much up and down in the drama between Holland and Oliver. Once something was sorted out, there was the next fight or problem on the way. This was a little bit too much for me and had me annoyed by the end. The relationship also developed a little bit too quickly.

This book was an entertaining read but remained mostly average to me.

Oliver and Holland are totally made for each, they just have no idea. Oliver is sorting out his own life, when he has to unexpected come back to run the family business. Holland is wicked smart and tries to land her dream job at Cody Tech - but gender inequality in the workplace isn't going to allow that to happen. She takes accepts a job there in the hopes of eventually moving up, but before she can do that, she needs to deal with Oliver - or he needs to deal with Holland. They both have aspirations, and drama in their past that could mire that.

It's a quick fun read. It took a little time for me to get to like Oliver, but I got over it pretty quickly. The are totally combustible together. Throw in a little bit of drama from the past, a little bit of current drama, and a lot of steam.

I really enjoyed reading Mr. Big; as a reader and book blogger I have a thing for fictional angsty, brooding men. Although they can be real jerks, there is always a reason why they act the way they do. It might not be right or likable at first but I like to read about characters like that for some reason. Especially when there is redemption involved and usually 9/10 there is. I really loved the story between Holland and Oliver, two lost souls but connected with similar pasts under different circumstances.

Their chemistry was amazing and the will they or won’t they scenario wrecked me in every good way possible when I was reading Mr. Big. They had their problems within themselves and with each other but what I really loved and admired Holland and Oliver was how they helped one another grow. Mr. Big will probably make the list of my favorite standalone of 2017. Definitely a must read!

I really like this story.

Ollie started a company but wanted a break. He spent his days surfing and bumming around. But tragedy strikes and he is called back to the real world. Only hes angry, and kind of an asshole.

Holland gets her foot in the door of Oliver's company, but she is trying to find a way to break out of her marketing role. She starts working on revamping a an old project. But she's stuck and needs help. In comes a man who just happens to know how to tweak the program. She doesn't realize that hes none other than the CEO.

The relationship grows. So what happens when Holland finds out that he's the CEO?

--------
When Oliver's parents died and left him with control of the company and the knowledge that his life was a lie, he sounds out of control. He stopped going to work and dropped out of life.

Holland is in the wrong position at the right company. Stuck in sales, she works on a plan to get her where she belongs. There's only one problem: she needs a developer to help her where she is stuck.

A chance meeting in a coffeeshop gives Holland the career push she needs and Oliver the person he needs to help him work through his issues. Not only that, he wants Holland bad!

Can Holland accept the help? Can Oliver open up and regain control of his life?

This book has everything you want. Not only is it steamy, and oh is it steamy, but it has a compelling story. You want these people to have everything work out!

I enjoyed the story line and premise of this novel as well as how the characters were developed. The Story was moving and enjoyable from beginning to end. It was well written and the characters were realistic. Who doesn't love an office romance story?

Oliver Cody is a CEO who has ran from his job to find himself. Holland has had to work her behind off to prove she is just as good in a male dominated field. After a run in the company coffee shop, they join sides to tackle a problem to save the company. Holland had no plans to fall in love with the CEO or have to deal with his life spiral that he is currently on.

The characters emotional depth and issues were done so well by Stewart. Great plot twist and hope to see more from this world building.

Delancey Stewart is brand new to me but I've heard some buzz around her books and decided to give this a read. And let's face it, the cover of Mr. Big really grabs your attention!

I liked the premise, the girl with the plan meets the guy who has none. And rightfully so. Everything Oliver thought he knew was ripped away from him in one tragic accident. He was spiraling out of control, throwing away everything he had built over some anger he didn't know how to handle. That is until a firecracker of a woman sets him straight. I loved Holland's take no prisoners attitude. She had been dealt a crap hand all her life but was determined to prove her worth. To earn her way to the top of the mans world she found herself working in.

This unlikely duo form a quasi friendship that is based in jokes and analytics; until Holland decides to take it to another level. Everything is coming together for Holland. She's got her dream guy and things at work are looking up too. That is until an unexpected but not so unwelcome surprise throws all of her plans off track.

For me, this is where things get a bit wonky. From here on out there is a lot of back and forth between Oliver and Holland and I lost the connection that they had built so soundly and thoroughly in the first two thirds of the book. Overall, I found Mr. Big to be ok. Though they do eventually get their HEA, thanks in part to a super sweet gesture from Oliver, it felt a little forced. I just wanted a little something more to bring it all together.

When I read the synopsis on Netgalley, this sounded like an interesting romance read, and since the author is new to me, I requested an advance reader copy of this novel, but I'm sorry to say that this novel just wasn't for me, and while the writing was good, I can't honestly say that I liked or enjoyed reading this book--for me, it was simply okay, and I'm giving it 2 stars for that reason.

From the very first chapter, I found myself disliking the hero, Oliver Cody. I found him more than a little immature, self-absorbed, spoiled, and self-indulgent. He was CEO of the hugely successful company he and his father founded, and one day he simply decided to say, in effect, "the heck with my responsibilities, I'm outta here!" And off he goes, living the life of a rich, bored playboy/beach bum, and giving no thought to the company and no consideration for the many people who depend on him and his company for their livelihood. Who does that?

When Oliver finds out, months later, that both his parents were killed in an auto accident, does he race home immediately? Is he shattered to lose them? Does he rush home to run the company? Does he even respond to the many phone calls he's getting? No to all four questions, and not only that, when he finally shows up at the corporate offices, he's dressed like a bum and takes out his rage at the CFO and secretaries, throwing potted plants against the walls and acting like a spoiled, entitled brat, which is exactly what he is. He wants all the money and lifestyle of a CEO, but doesn't want to work for it.

I liked Holland, the heroine, a bit more than I liked Oliver, but I really hated her "plan". I think all people have hopes and dreams about their future, whether they want to marry, have children, or pursue a career, but her plan was in writing and practically engraved in stone. I did, however, like her backbone, and the way she reacted when Oliver got service at the company coffee shop ahead of everyone else waiting in line. I also understood her feelings about there being a glass ceiling for women who want to pursue a business career, because it's something I've also experienced. That said, I'll admit that team sports bore me to tears, and technology relating to sports and gambling programs are even less interesting to me, and that's what the work of the Cody Corporation is centered around.

Yes, the novel was well-written, the sex between the two leading characters was just okay, and it became more and more clear to me as I continued reading, that I didn't particularly care about these characters or what happened to them and that this simply wasn't the novel for me. I'm seeing higher ratings than mine posted, and I'm not blaming the writer for my failure to connect with this novel or its characters, because it isn't a bad novel, it's just one book that in the long run just didn't appeal to me on any level.

As stated at the outset, I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

I love books by Delancey Stewart, but I was a bit disappointed with how this book ended.

Holland O'Dell is trying to move up in a man's business. She works for Cody Tech, but ended up in the sales department because everyone knows that the company doesn't hire women for a statistician's job. Even if that woman graduated second in her class and is extremely smart.

Holland is trying to prove herself with an new project but she can't trust her co-workers because she's afraid that they will take all the credit. When she's cut in the a coffee shop line at way a surfer type guy, she lets him have it for not having any manners. She's not sure who this guy is, but when he tries to apologize with an invitation to dinner, she declines. When the guy shows up a few days later at the coffee shop and sees what she is working on, he offers his help.

They hit it off, and "Hale" really understands what she is trying to accomplish. They spend a lot of time working on her presentation before her big meeting on Monday. But when Monday morning comes, she meets the real "Hale" he's the Oliver Cody, the CEO who walked away from everything for 8 months. Betrayed doesn't even describe how Holland feels. Now she doesn't know whether she got where she is because the CEO was involved.

When she finds out that she's pregnant, Oliver is happy until he comes to his own conclusion that she was using him. He hurts her with his accusations and walks away from her, leaving her pregnant and raising a child by herself.

Watching Holland from afar pregnant with his baby is making him realize he still loves her and wants another chance with her and the baby. He knows that he did wrong with her. But how many chances does one get to be hurt?

This book had me in a swirl. Toward the end when Oliver was like I love you but... I almost broke my computer. Honestly, dude if you love someone that is it, there needs to be no more bull shit. Majority of people have issues with their parents, like seriously. Despite my mixed feelings about Oliver, Holland was incredible. She is a woman with a plan and when that plan gets skewed out of place, she adapts, which is something that I like to read in female characters at times. She is her own definition of a badass.

Oliver and Holland were just ok together. I could have written most of the plot twists, and it relied heavily on standard tropes to move it along. I enjoyed it enough to finish it, but not enough to read it again.
