This was a good read for me. I liked the characters, although Oliver could be annoying at times. But the chemistry is good. The story has plenty of drama and the sex is steamy. An entertaining read.

I have mixed feelings about this title - it wasn't totally what I was expecting based on the description and the cover, but that was a good thing! When I started reading I was intrigued by Oliver/Hale, and that continued. He is a wild CEO and needed to find something or someone to ground him. That came in the form of his business and employee Holland. While I realize that not everyone will enjoy the technical bits of the story (they dragged in some parts)I actually enjoyed them - I felt like it kept the book from being a wham bam happy ending kind of novel. Three stars!

Mr Big by Delancey Stewart was an interesting read!!

When I first started reading, I realized that the novel was going to be like nothing I expected it to be. It was so much better!!

I completely fell in love with the cast of characters, and the entire plot line. It was sexy and sweet all at the same time. It was witty and humorous, while also maintaining elements of emotion and heartfelt sentiments.

4/5 Stars!!

** spoiler alert ** Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Okay, this is gonna get a little spoilery because it actually features one of my most annoying moments ever which is why I docked a star.

I cannot stand it when men have to take some time before they can deal with the fact that they're going to be a father. I get that it wasn't planned, but I think it's super shitty for them to run away even if you know they're going to come back in the end. It's not like the woman can run away from the child growing inside of her.

Okay, rant over. I really liked Oliver and Holland together. They made sense to me. Even if Oliver was a super-whiney man child who couldn't get over the fact that his parents lied to him about being adopted. That said, Holland brought out the best in him. She actually made him face facts and grow up, something that he forgot how to do. Holland was taking no prisoners and I liked that about her.

It's funny, I kind of expected this to be much more sexy time heavy based on the cover. Overall, a good read, but it does have some annoying elements, so if those are issues for you, you've been warned.

Oliver Cody left everything he knew behind in search of himself, but after a devastating blow, he is more lost than ever.

Holland O’Dell has a plan. She has a list to check off and she needs to stick to it to feel in control of her life.

I thought this book was charming. The characters drew me in and I was hooked until the very last page. Did I want to junk punch Ollie at times? Yep. Did I want to slap some sense into Holland? Yep, I wanted to do that too. I loved that Holland, for the most part, was a strong, independent woman. She was in charge of her own destiny and she was going to take the world by storm. Ollie was a sad, lost man. He needed a kick to the head and Holland was just the girl to deliver that blow.

Overall, I thought the storyline was a great concept. Ms. Stewart put a smart, driven heroine together with a CEO with the need to feel like he makes a difference and it worked.

When I first met Mr. Big, I thought it would be the typical super sexy story of an employee-boss romance. I was wrong…totally wrong. Delancey Stewart wrote SO MUCH MORE! Mr. Big is a love story of TRAGEDY and TENACITY, FEELS and FATE, and DREAMS and DESTINY. This romance wholeheartedly CAPTIVATED ME, calling to my heart and soul, CONSUMING ME from beginning to end. Mr. Big is a fierce fusion of smolder, sweetness, sass, sadness, strength, and swoon.

The hot and heartbreaking hero, Oliver Cody, is one you’ll both love and hate. Arrogant, brooding, kind, and temperamental, Oliver is a high-profile sports company CEO. This talented executive is battling demons in and out of the office. Oliver is one walking storm, a mix of dark and light.

Until light eclipsed his shade known as beautiful Holland O’Dell, a name and woman as stunning as the country….

Holland O’Dell was the first spot of color I’d seen in two months.

Beautiful Holland is out to prove she has what it takes to be a smart and powerful woman in a typical man’s world of sports. Though part of her plans don’t involve falling for her hot boss. I loved this heroine, admiring her drive and resilience.

“You saw me.” He stares into my eyes for a second. “Even when you hated me, you saw me.”

I MELTED from these sad and swoon-filled words where I FELT ALL THE FEELS!

This kiss wasn’t gentle and soft, it didn’t ask for permission. It felt like he was staking a claim, as if he sought to possess me.

This kiss POSSESSED ME, blazing and burning, lighting me on fire. I felt the passion and promise permeate the pages.

“No one ever chose me.” Her eyes shut and the tears squeezed past her lashes.

“I do,” I whispered into her hair. “I choose you.”

The excitement had me ON EDGE, biting my nails in both angst and anticipation. The push and pull was HEADY, a force that made my head spin. The torment was the perfect mix of sweet and sexy. The sexual tension lit me on fire. I wanted to shove this heroine and hero together so many times!

ENCHANTING and EMOTIONALLY-CHARGED, Mr. Big makes your head spin and soul soar in one heart-pounding whirlwind of an employee-boss romance. You’ll adore the heroine, and both love and loathe the hero in one spellbinding story of surprises. A slow burn of a romance, Mr. Big is PASSION MEETS PROMISE, a push-and-pull of angst-ridden goodness. Mr. Big is BEAUTIFULLY BROKEN, a tale that can’t help but twist around your heart.

“Sometimes we’re ready for things when we don’t think we are.”

💋💋💋💋 big and beautifully broken kisses

I found Mr. Big by Delancey Stewart to be a delightful and sexy story of two lost people who found something in each other. Their journey is not easy, but the story will intrigue you.

Holland O’Dell is ready to take on the world. The business world that is. She is determined to show everyone she can do this and get the job she wants. She may just need a little help to get there. What she does not know is the man that is helping her has a secret.

I loved Holland’s determination. She was strong and very driven. She had so little for so long in her life, but she never gave up. On the other side, Oliver Cody had it all. But he was unprepared for the changes in his life after he leaves to find himself, until he gets the urgent call to come home. But as we got to know him, I found him to be sexy, sweet and caring.

Even with so much contrast between them, they were also very similar in other ways. Both being a bit lost and trying to find their way. One driven and one ready to give up. There were many frustrating moments as well. Holland and Oliver had a lot of back and forth and issues they had to work through.

This story is nothing new, a CEO and the average girl, but overall it was a good story that will keep you drawn in. Holland and Oliver feel an instant attraction, but their journey is not an easy one.

There’s nothing quite like being in the right place at the wrong time. Delancey Stewart’s Mr. Big is a story about just that, a romance between two people who find each other at the absolutely wrong time in their lives and, while they fall in love easily, their journey to happily ever after is a difficult one.

Holland may be one of my favorite heroines this year. I loved her strength, the way she went after the things she wanted, and how she faced adversity head-on. Raised in foster care after being abandoned shortly after birth, she’s worked to shrug off her feelings of abandonment. With a carefully constructed plan, she finished graduate school and found her almost-dream job. Her life is about control after having none as a child, yet she’s not closed off. She just has a plan. While working on a project that she’s sure will help her move into a position she deserves in a male-dominated company, she falls in love with her boss. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to shake her for starting a relationship with Oliver or yell at her to quit second guessing herself professionally (though I understood why she would). Her situation was a perfect case of not being able to control what happens in life.

Oliver is probably one of my least favorite heroes this year, though I easily sympathized with him. He’s a guy who found success while still very young and suddenly found himself questioning what he was doing with his life while still in his mid-20s. He bails on his family and company to take a “sabbatical” and while gone his parents die suddenly, leaving him with the company and a secret he’s not prepared to handle. I wanted to shake Oliver. I wanted to kick Oliver. I wanted… clearly Oliver brought out some violent impulses in me. Without giving away too many spoilers, it was clear to me that becoming a successful person so young left him ill-equipped to handle anything that remotely shook his foundation. With his parents gone, he’s without any support and with the secret they kept from him, his anger at them masks his grief at their deaths. When he meets Holland, she shines a light into the darkness he’s been living in, but their relationship ends up being another way he puts off grieving.

What makes Mr. Big such a wonderful book is how readers get to watch these two unsure and somewhat broken people learn to deal with all that life is throwing at them. It’s never an issue of whether they love each other, but whether or not it’s the right time for them to love each other. When something happens that links them together in a way they can’t ever forget, both have to make decisions, personally and professionally, about how they’ll live the rest of their lives. Holland steps up in a way that had me cheering her on. Oliver takes a little longer, and I’ll admit there were times I wanted Holland to have her own personal HEA without Oliver in it. But, like in real life and with real couples, things don’t always happen on a schedule.

While I thought the ending was a bit rushed and Holland a little too forgiving, Mr. Big is a truly entertaining read with lots of chemistry between the characters, but more importantly, true affection. There are great secondary characters, people who provide support and friendship for both Holland and Oliver. As a big sports fan, I really appreciated the business part of the book, especially as Holland and Oliver worked to land a big client. And, I liked how Stewart addressed the lack of equality in the business of professional sports without getting preachy.

4 stars for Mr. Big. Heat level: 4

I really enjoyed this instalove but wait story. Both Oliver and Holland have committing to a relationship problems, Holland stems from growing as a foster child and the feeling that no one choosing her while Oliver's comes from a big emotional upheaval following his parents death. All the push/pull of their relationship had me giving this book 4 out of 5 stars otherwise I found it to be a sweet story.

Mr. Big or Mr. Dick?

I'm not gonna lie, I requested this book because of the abs.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

The cover is ridiculously hot, but the funny thing is that... it doesn't have anything to do with the book.

Also, that cover fooled me big time. It made me think I was going to get a cocky, arrogant hero, instead, I got a broken, lost one. I liked Oliver, till he fucked up. And right now, I just want to hunt him down and kick his ass.

I liked Holland, Powerpuff Girls notebook and all. She was a bit annoying with her tiny little list and that stuff but I like her better than Oliver. He didn't deserve her.

The first half was great but the second one fell flat and repetitive. The author did tie up all the loose ends at the end of the book, but still, I felt like something was missing. And that something kept me from fully enjoying the story. Also, I felt like the author was heavy on the corporative sport, leaving the romance to the side. So I wish she would have given the romance a little bit more.

Even though I didn't love this story, I can't say I completely dislike it. It had its moments, thus the reason why I gave it 3 stars. And as I have said before, just because I had these issues, doesn't mean you will. So if you want to give it a go, do it and judge for yourself.

I had difficulty getting into the story. It felt fragmented and disjointed. I could not connect with the characters not the story.

Mr. Big is a great book to read, Holland and Oliver have one thing in common the Oliver didn't find out until recently. Oliver was the CEO of his father's company but he resigned to find he self and Holland is working at the company. A must read book. I give this book 4 stars. I voluntarily reviewed this NetGallery Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review.

You know it's not every day your parents pass away and every single thing about your life you thought turns out to be a lie.  Oliver was shaken to the core to find out his parents secret.  It affected him so much he couldn't deal with the ramifications of the news.

Once he returned to the company him and his father built he pretty much lost it.  Oliver has lots of things to work on.  But first - he meets Holland O'Dell.  She doesn't recognize him as the company's CEO.  Which works in his favor to be able to talk to her and gain her insight on what she thinks about his company.

As the trust builds so do the romantic feelings.  They definitely have something going there.  Holland doesn't want to have anything to do with it though.  She wants to work hard to hit her career goals.  They're all that matters to her at the time.  It's time to let her hair down, though.  Holland's goals are important though and Oliver offers to help her complete the part of her task she's struggling with.

This story was a joy to read.  I laughed and shook my head a lot.  Oliver is a really great character and Holland compliments him quite well.  This is the first book I've read by this author.  I will definitely be looking for more by her.

3.5 Stars.

Holland O’Dell is an algorithms expert who’s hired in the only suitable position (for a woman) at her dream company Cody Tech: in sales. It’s disheartening, but Holland’s a fighter. She survived three foster homes after being abandoned shortly after birth and has cobbled together a small nucleus of friends that she considers family. She’s also got a great idea for restructuring one of Cody Tech’s earliest device designs, and an in with a contact at Major League Baseball. Id she can refine and sell the product, she might garner enough support to get hired into her dream position in project development.

Oliver “Hale” Cody is a young man adrift. He’d struggled with his posh life for just over a year, and went on an adventure to “find himself” when he thought the need for him at his own company was overblown. Cody Tech was started by his father, and everyone assumed he’d just take the reins once he finished schooling, but Oliver didn’t feel like he’d earned his position as CEO. While on his journey towards himself, Oliver’s parents were killed in a car wreck, and Oliver’s idyll was at an end. The truth of his adoption was revealed by the attorneys of the estate, and Oliver’s reeling from a sense of complete loss. Who was his true family? Not only didn’t he know this big secret about himself, how could he trust his parents’ decisions? His shenanigans and drunken rages have destabilized the company, and caused a major shake-up. While Oliver is mostly too distraught to care, he notices a woman, Holland, working late at the company, and admires how she doesn’t take his crap. Seeing that she’s working on a product he’d developed with his dad, he’s intrigued, and wants to help her fine-tune it.

Through his repeated attempts at connecting with Holland, Oliver learns a lot about himself and his company. He learns about her childhood and feels a kinship for lost familial connections. He learns his company has a long way to go to overcome the ingrained misogyny and sexism. His attraction to Holland is a welcome advent into his broken emotional state, and Holland returns his interest–until she learns he’s the CEO. By then, however, they’ve already gotten physical, and hooked MLB for the project Holland developed and Oliver tweaked.

Then, there’s drama. It’s all really rational and reasonable: Holland not wanting people to believe she climbed the corporate ladder using sex with Oliver, not her creativity and hard work. Oh, and there’s a couple break ups/make ups that cause each of them to really consider the meaning of family, and merit-based rewards, and feminism, and equality. I don’t want to give too much away, but the plot has a few turns I wasn’t expecting. That said, I think I mostly didn’t expect them because they were 99.9% unlikely to happen anywhere in real life, and I’m not an unrealistic person when reading realistic fiction. So, yeah, I kind of rolled my eyes on those things, and kept reading on anyway. The relationship-building between Oliver and Holland is hard work, they are young people for all their career accomplishments: both 26. Yeah, that was unrealistic, too. And, Oliver came off as sullen and spoiled for a good part of the book. Granted, I liked when he was happy, but a lot of the time he felt whiny to me. I liked Holland a lot, and wanted to assure her–like her good friends did–that she didn’t have to be so very independent. It’s really not how the corporate world works, but I could appreciate that level of naivete because of her age.

There’s a happy ending for all, and some steamy bits, too. It’s not a terribly long book, and will likely appeal to people who enjoy romances featuring smart-pants gals and a CEO that’s not too pushy. I received a review copy via NetGalley.

4 The Stats Don't Lie Stars!!

This was my first book by this author and I loved reading the story of Oliver and Holland. This truly is the story of opposites attract. Oliver had what he thought was the perfect life, being raised by parents that loved him, starting a business that does gangbusters and being richer beyond his wildest dreams until it all comes crashing down one day and his life turns on a dime and it's left him very angry and belligerent Holland on the other hand grew up in the system and has had to work for everything she's ever wanted.

You'd think these two wouldn't have any opportunity to meet, but that's where this story becomes so interesting. Holland wants to move up in Cody Technology and she's onto an idea that could change the sports world, and this is where Oliver comes to the rescue so to speak.

I absolutely love how Holland doesn't let Oliver get away with anything. She stands up to him and pushes back when necessary even to her detriment. But once these two hit the sheets, the heat they generate is truly combustible! He truly can sweep her off her feet with his smooth moves. Because if there's one thing about Oliver that stuck with me, when he sets his eyes on the prize, he doesn't give up until he has what he wants.

Holland has lived her entire life with a plan and a list and at times I really wanted to just give up the freaking list already and look at what's right in front of you. I can't say as I blame her though given how she grew up. I so admire her tenacity, strength and moxie! She's had a goal on her list and she won't stop until she gets what she wants...but there's a road block in the form of Oliver Cody and together they can be stronger than each of them individually.

There's some secrets that are the source of some angst for Oliver and I was both hurt for him but also angry at him for how he was dealing with it. Trust me you'll understand when you read this book.

Overall, I'm so happy I took the chance on this book because it delivered in giving me a great love story, with a strong woman but an even stronger alpha male, a few lessons about life thrown in, some sizzling chemistry and love scenes and a HEA that left me with a smile on my face.

Holland O'Dell is trying to make her mark in the world, a man's world. She knows she can do it, she just needs to get her foot in the door. Not one to easily trust another, she finds herself leaning more than she's comfortable with on the broody, surfer she met in the company coffee house.

Oliver Cody thought he had things figured out, his life, his career, his identity, then his world crashed around him. He's angry and anyone within a 10 foot radius bears the brunt of it until he meets a very feisty, guarded girl in the coffee house. He can't stay away from her though he knows it is under false pretenses.

This is the first book I've read by this author. I was hooked by the beginning and curious as to where the story was heading. I greatly appreciated Holland's independent streak even when she knew she should rely on another. She wasn't easily swayed. My heart wept for Oliver and his circumstances and I was happy he was able to move past his mental roadblocks to achieve a greater life.

I would recommend this book to a friend and I look forward to reading more by this author.

Oliver is a CEO of a large tech company that he helped found with his father Adam, but has been on a hiatus for the last 8 months. Oliver felt that everything had been given to him and he didn't have to work for anything so he broke up with his fiancé of one month and left to travel to beaches all around the world. Until he gets the call every person dreads getting. He has to leave the beach he is currently lounging on to come back to Cody Tech and take care of everything. With devastation from some news he never expected, he has to figure out who he is within the wake of this news and how he is going to keep his company afloat. Until he meets Holland. He cuts in line in the coffee shop in Cody Tech and she has something to say about him cutting in front of her right before she orders.

Holland sees this guy cut in line and order his coffee right as she is going to order. This does not bode well, so she says something about it to him. But she cant help but feel the chemistry that is between them, he body just hums. The arrogance of this guy who looks like he doesn't belong in Cody Tech is beyond. Holland sees him again and they speak to each other and he introduces himself to her as Hale. Sam the barista vouches that he is a good guy to Holland and she ends up asking him for help with the tech of the new program she is working on for baseball. Which would be a huge game changer not only for her so that she could get out of sales and hopefully into a analytics position, but could possibly save the company.

After Hale helps her with the tech side of the program she starts to fall for him, hard. After getting a drink one day after working with Hale, they end up back at her apartment. But she regrets not knowing him well before sleeping with him, but she doesn't regret how he made her feel. SO she cant help but fall for him even more when he just keeps making her feel so good. Until it comes time to present to MLB, he drops a huge bombshell on her. How could he not tell her this before?

This book was absolutely riveting! I couldn't stop reading long enough to eat my dinner in full. I NEEDED to know how everything was going to work out because it was one huge obstacle after another one for Holland and Oliver.

Holland not only dealt with her adoption and how that made her feel her whole life in and out of foster homes until she lived with Mama Gi with Delia. But there is still the need to earn everything she has. Holland she wants to earn everything on her own so that she doesn't have to depend on anyone but herself, but at times everyone needs help you just have to ask. But she struggles with making sure that people know that she has worked for everything she has, even if that is exactly what happened. But in her eyes perception is everything, and not everyone sees things as she does.

This is my first Delancey Stewart book and it will definitely not be my last by any means!! I am hoping she will continue with a series for these set of characters!! Delancey did not disappoint with this book and I am super excited to read another one of her books!
