Hot, sexy, sweet and passionate.

Kiss My Boots is the second installment in the amazing Coming Home series. This is a second chance romance, a trope that I absolutely love, aside from the enemy-to-lovers theme. I truly love when characters are given a chance to re-do their lives, mend their broken hearts, correct the mistakes of their youth by choosing a different path in life, a better one, and embrace a happy ending that should have been theirs in the first place.

The story follows Quinn Davis (Maverick’s sister from book one) and Tate Montgomery. These two met when they were eleven years old and became inseparable until the age of eighteen. Every summer when Tate was there in the little town of Pine Oaks, Texas to visit his grandparents, he was the one who filled a void in Quinn’s life. While they could not have come from more completely different lives, their friendship naturally evolved into a romantic attachment that only grew in intensity as they became older. They were each other’s firsts and their love was all consuming and unbreakable. Forever promises were made, but one day, with no explanation and no goodbye, Tate left and broke Quinn’s heart in the process leaving her devastated.

"The foundation we built was meant to be everlasting—even if his promises hadn’t been. He taught me trust. He showed me love. Then he gave me pain."

Nine years, that’s how long it has been since Quinn and Tate have seen one another. Quinn moved on with her life and thought she was finally over it. She is now a mechanic and the owner of a car shop. Quinn is this strong, independent, and feisty woman that has taken some hits but keeps going. She enjoys her simple life and loves taking care of her cars and spending time with her two overprotective brothers, Clayton and Maverick and her best friend Leighton. That is until Tate Montgomery returns and tugs on her heart strings all over again. The intense feelings she had buried deep inside rise up and refuse to go away.

Blackmailed, forced to stay away and to cut off contact with Quinn, Tate had no choice then, but to sacrifice his happiness by leaving the woman he loved behind. He finished school, started his career and became a successful gynecologist, and went through the motions of his life. But now things have changed, Tate doesn’t have anything standing in his way. He wants Quinn back. He wants to give them back what was stolen from them all those years ago.

"It’s time to end this farce I’m stuck living and take back my life—and the woman who has always held my goddamn heart."

But will the truth cause Quinn to hate him more for not fighting for their chance then, or will it change everything and make her look at the whole situation and Tate in a different light?

"Rest of my days, I’ll feel the same desperate need for you, Quinn. One day I’m gonna fill you up until my seed takes root and I’ll do it again and again after that. Gonna give you that family we always talked about, but first, I’m beggin’ you to give it all to me, Quinn. Give me this body I crave, but give me the heart inside it I need.”

Loved Quinn and Tate! Both great characters and they had so much chemistry, history, love, passion and friendship. They were perfectly matched in every possible way and I truly enjoyed the way they loved one another. In the style that I have come to expect and love, Harper Sloan has once again written a story full of depth, emotion, humour, and her trademark, awesome secondary characters that give an ever-greater dimension to the story. The bottom line is that with this author you always get the real deal. Can’t wait to read Clayton’s story. He's been my favorite from the start and I just know it’s gonna be worth the wait!

If you have read Lost Rider you would have met Quinn, Maverick's sister.
Quinn is just country. Pure country. I loved her! She let a man break her heart....and 9 years later he waltzes back into town....and Tate wants to win her back.
This series is fabulous. Let me tell you why.
I feel everything written in these books. I feel everything these characters go through.
Now give me Clay!

"The Ghost of Heartbreak Past apparently is back in Pine Oak.
Tatum Montgomery.
Jesus Jones."

Oh, my heart!!!
Friends to lovers.
First love lost.
This book had so much that captures my heart and attention!

Quinn has lived many years never really getting over her first love, first heartbreak. But with the notification that he's coming back for good, she has a hard time facing him once again.
But he doesn't exactly make it easier for her either.

Tate is now able to claim what's always been his...Quinn. After years of sacrifice, he's ready to get the one girl that's always owned his heart back for good. When the truth behind his years away coming out in the open, will he be able to get her back?

"I think it's time I stop lettin' what happened years ago stand in the way of me livin'."
"What I did marked you."
"Marked you too, honey."

This book was full of emotion, laughter, family, and friendship.
The flashbacks made my heart flutter, and the way they worked through their pasts is something wonderful.

They say you can't go home again, but Tate does, and it's a ride of a lifetime.
Quinn gives him hell and he gives it right back.
The bickering mixed with their deep love is perfection to me.

"You finally know the man I am now?"
"I'd know him anywhere."
"You givin' him your forever?"
"God, yes."
"Never, Quinn. I'll never spend another day without you in it. You hear me? I'll spend every day makin' up for the time we lost. That pain will never touch you again."

Can I just live inside this story? I could picture every single detail.
From their reunion, the auto shop Quinn works, the farm, Homer and Bertha (you'll see;)), and every single word spoken. Yes I could picture their faces saying everything. That's vivid this book is!

Harper Sloan is one of my favorites for a reason!
The stories she writes and the words she weaves are perfection to me!!

Now that I've had Maverick and Quinn Davis...I need me some Clay!! Because I have a feeling the oldest Davis sibling will have the greatest story of all<3

Wonderful read!!

"It's our time now, Tate. And anyone dumb enough to try and stand in our way can just Kiss My Boots."

Whew!  This book isn’t what I expected at all.  Those Texan (at least in the book) have a very colorful vernacular, using four-letter words like raspberries on cereal!  So ladies, do not read this book with the mindset of a Regency read or any historical romance.  I wouldn’t even go for a contemporary romance.  This one borders on the edge of erotica.  It sizzles in its intensity. I did what any reader does who wants to experience another world—I cowgirled up and read it!

The story is written in first person in two points of view.  Some scenes are seen through Quinn’s, others through Tate’s.  In both cases, these two have been hurt from the past.  Quinn’s hurt lies in after years of friendship with Tate as young children, she gives herself to him.  She was 18.  Tate, too, gave himself to her, the first for both, with promises of a future together.  He was off to medical school. She never heard from him again. What do you think that did to her over-protective brothers Clay and Maverick, let alone Quinn? Take that and think Texan!

Tate loved Quinn from afar.  He had no choice but to break the relationship.  His reasons are heroic and I’ll leave that for the read.

For Quinn it was simple. “He taught me trust. He showed me love. Then he gave me pain.”

Quinn speaking to herself. “I don’t deny I have issues, but I would be hard-pressed to find a single soul in the whole big-ass world who doesn’t. I’ve come a long damn way in working past those dang issues, too; then all it takes is one gusty blast from the past to kick up dust as a harsh reminder that you can polish the past until the wood shines, but the grime always settles back in.”

When Quinn finds out Tate is coming back to Pine Oak: “It’s out of my system, thankfully before Tate returned, because the last thing I plan on showing him is how deeply I still feel the emptiness his departure left behind. Nope. He won’t get that. Quinn, the hell-raisin’ badass is back, and Tate Montgomery can kiss my boots.”

After nine long years, Tate has his chance to return to Pine Oak, to continue in his grandfather’s medical clinic.  He knows he’ll have to eat dirt with Quinn. He’ll grovel if he needs to.  He’s hurt Quinn badly.  How can a love be rekindled after that?

The plot is a good one, damaged people learning to trust again.  Texas drawls off the pages.  Characters are straight talkers, with dear Quinn and her friend Leighton talking straighter than most.  They shock me, at the same time get a giggle.  They both share in a wicked, twisted sense of humor.  Quinn takes on a challenge as if her life depends on winning. Leighton is the kind of forever friend who’ll support you whatever you decide.  She is the support Quinn needs so badly to weather the past, which also includes her mother walking away from the family when she was young.

The characters, in essence, begin mattering to you. Quinn’s attraction to Tate, Quinn’s relationship with her beloved brothers, Leighton’s supportive role getting Quinn to cowgirl up and show her stuff. (Don’t use stuff, change it to sh*t)  The story is littered with it. LOL!

I enjoyed the small-town feel, meeting some employees from the clinic, and the hysterically older Jana who works at the PieHole with Leighton, saying things one doesn’t even think!

Kiss My Boots is the second book in Harper Sloan’s Coming Home series and I thoroughly enjoyed being back in Pine Oak, Texas with the Davis family. Getting over the past is never easy and for Quinn Davis and Tate Montgomery who want from friends to lovers to nothing for the last nine years, forgiveness and acceptance begin their road to their happily ever after.

First off I want to say that I loved both Quinn and Tate and I was extremely happy that over time they were able to find their way back to one another. Quinn was a multi faceted character; strong, sassy, and I loved that she was a mechanic and good at it, she was fiercely loyal to her brothers and her best friend, Leighton, and she loved with her whole heart. So it wasn’t a surprise that she still felt deeply about her mother abandoning their family when she was a baby, her father’s verbal abuse and physical abuse of one of her brothers, and the young man who left her and broke her heart in a million pieces, but I was thrilled that despite that hurt, she was willing to listen to him, let him explain, and admit to herself that even though almost a decade has gone by that no one else has ever come close to making her feel the way he does. Tate was sweet, charming, and selfless in that he was willing to sacrifice his happiness to make sure the people he loved were protected. I admired the fact that he made sure to meet with Quinn’s brothers and explain what happened in the past, to let them see he was in it for the long haul, and that their sister meant more to him than anything. He wasn’t afraid of showing his feelings, of admitting his failings, or of the love he felt for Quinn even during their time apart. I loved that they didn’t hide their pasts from one another, they didn’t apologize for being with other people, nor did they obsess over it; the fact that they could be mature about that part of their lives impressed me greatly.

This book was repetitive on numerous occasions and the “conflict” towards the end honestly felt contrived and I expected it while reading the third chapter so I was disappointed that in came to pass. I was glad that Quinn was able to confront and lay her past to rest, letting her feel free to move on with her life once and for all.

With each book in this series I get more enamored with these characters and their lives, I feel their pain, I celebrate their joy, and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Sloan has in store for big brother Clay. Sentimental, sassy, and sexy Kiss My Boots was a fun and enjoyable story.

This was just ok for me. I honestly didn't like the reasons why Tate left Quinn and I also didn't like that he was a female doctor / OB/GYN (personal preference).

The book was lacking a few thing for me to love it and the characters weren't my favorite either but I also didn't hate them.

Sloan has knocked it out of the park again. This may be my favorite series from her. It has the wonderful characters and the even better small town family.

FINALLY we get Quinn’s story. I was DYING to read this and it lived up to everything that I wanted and more. We got the truths and we really got to see the Quinn that she hides behind her hell raiser mask. Then we got Tate.

Now for Tate, I have two words. Yes, Please. He was everything I loved about Maverick and yet so much different. I love that he is coming back to fight for the girl he wants. It endears me to him that much more. I am a big sucker for second chance love and even more so when that second chance love was meant to be.

Throw in a lot of baggage to be worked out and some very hilarious doctor’s appointments and this book was a riot on wheels.

I can’t wait for Clay’s book, because we ALL KNOW IT’S GOING TO BE AMAZING. That boy needs a good loving. He fights for everyone else to be happy and now it is his turn.

5 Kiss My Boots Stars

Wow just wow I LOVED Quinn's story. It was a "I can't put this book down" kind of book and I flew through it. This is a second chance book and normally there not my favourite type of books but yeah this was the bomb!

Quinn is a sassy not afraid to tell you how it is leading lady and I'm a sucker for these. Tate is a Hot, sexy doctor who knows what he wants and it’s time to get it. Like the first in the series The Lost Rider this book has great secondary characters that make the story so great!

Kiss My Books is a must read, you won’t regret it!

Quinn Davis and Tate Montgomery were childhood friends. Each summer they spend together made their feelings grow and they became each other's first love. Nine years ago Tate left Quinn with the promise to continue their relationship and keep in contact with her. But that was the last time Quinn heard from him. Now he's back and wants Quinn back. Will Quinn accept why Tate stayed away for so many years?

I loved Kiss My Boots! This second chance romance hooked me from the first page. The story is captivating and full of emotion. It took me in a crazy ride of emotions.

Quinn Davis is a sassy, fierce, smart, and independent woman. She's a tomboy and she's proud of it. She's very loyal to her family and friends and will do anything for them. She has a lot of demons because of her past and with Tate coming back she's even more confused. Her head and her heart are at war and she doesn't know what to do.
Tate Montgomery is a sweet and charming doctor. But he can also be very protective and possessive. Nine years ago he made a decision that broke his heart: he left Quinn. But now he's back and knows he has a lot of explanations to make and a lot of groveling to do if he wants to show Quinn he wants her back and always loved her.

Kiss My Books is a brilliant book, beautifully written. The characters and the story are very relatable and hook the reader from the first page. Prepare yourself to cry, laugh and swoon with the second book in the Coming Home series by the awesome Harper Sloan!
I can't wait to read Clay's story in Cowboy Up!

Oh My Gosh, Love Love Love...LOVE this book. Quinn is the book Heroine, we should all have inside us. Harper Sloan is such a master with words, and she just take me away. The one liners and sparks between Quinn and Tate about blew my kindle up, never mind the sexy times...Lord love a duck. I think I actually like this book even better than the first, and I didn't think that was possible. I cannot wait for Clay's book, I might have a coronary.LOL The characters are so rich, and I love the secondary characters too! This is a total must read. I know Harper said this was stepping out of her comfort zone, but she friggin nailed it. and props to her for stepping out to begin with, so many authors don't have the courage to do that, but Harper became a master at yet another sub genre of Romance. This book is told in alternating views.

I love Harper Sloan and her writing style so it is not a big surprise that I immensely enjoyed Kiss My Boots. But to be fair, the book is simply so good that there is no way a bookworm like me won't like it. I laughed, I cried, I swooned and I even got hot and bothered few times :D The characters are well developed and so real, I felt like I know them. Like they are real people, I meet every day. As you would expect from an author as amazing as Harper is, the story line is intriguing and entertaining. I can guarantee that you will be sucked in from the very start and root for the characters as if they are your own friends.

I fell in love with Quinn from the very start. I loved her flippant behaviour and smart mouth, her independence and craziness :D But one of the things that really endeared her to my heart was that she is that good in a job that's usually dominated by men. Her "take no prisoners" behaviour just makes her so much fun to be around and at the same time shows that she is strong enough to overcome any curve ball life trows at her. Or at least nearly any. Tate is one curved ball that she has difficulties dealing with. Quinn and Tate's past is quite heartbreaking but once all the misunderstandings are cleared out and the secrets are revealed, the pain is easily healed. Because Tate and Quinn are simply meant to be together and no one and nothing can change that. Even if there are people who've been trying.

So yes, Tate and Quinn's story is not an easy one. It is in a way a second chance one. And it is one of the best second chance stories I've read. So, if you haven't picked your copy yet, be sure to do so. This book is a must read ;) I can't wait for the next one to come out so I can find out what will happen with Clay.

I need to send a huge thank you to Galley books for sending out an ARC of this book.
I can't thank y'all enough for all that you do for us bloggers *hugs

So let's get I to this book.

I really loved this story.
much the way I enjoyed book one. it brought me back to those country roots I rarely ever see anymore.
not just in wearing my cowboy boots and pair of cutoff jeans. but in my love for a good cowboy book.

And KISS MY BOOTS delivered exactly that.
Harper gave us an great story that had all the right amounts of cute, sexy, sweet, and that little bit of heart break.

the characters were so lovable. and I felt myself pulling for their HEA. wanting to see them come out stronger together in the end.

both of the characters were just ones that you fall for. Quinn was so fiesty and fun, and I actually for once can say I liked a female character (I feel like I'm doing this a lot lately. maybe my opinion of female protagonist is finally on the mend. that'd be nice haha)
but I loved how tough Quinn could be. but then also be this unsure vulnerable girl. she didn't let it show very often. but it was there just enough to give her that bit of dimension any good character needs. that little bit that could make them seem like a real living person. and not just a character in a book.

And then there's Tate.
I loved the guy so much.
he's funny and adorable. and a freaking rock of support.
And man has the guy been through some stuff.
talk about a character who didn't have an easy home life.
but man did he make something of it all. and put himself on the path he wanted no matter what he had to do.
And I loved that about him. that he kept working at what he wanted. and finally decided to stop letting anyone stand in his way of that.

Plus him and Quinn together was just adorable too.
the two make such a great pair.

the story line for this book drew me in to.
it was just such an overall good read.

And if you read book one, don't worry. all you're favorite people are back too. and we get some fun little glimpses of baby brother and his woman haha

I give KISS MY BOOTS
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟5 STARS🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Kiss My Boots is a small town, second chance romance and the second title in the Coming Home series.

Quinn and Tate are both incredibly endearing and complex characters. Quinn is a fabulous character, sweet, sassy, smart, feisty and a tomboy to boot. Although she is comfortable under the bonnet of a car, she is also undeniably feminine and girly. Although she is quite vulnerable to hurt and abandonment, she is incredibly loving and loyal to those who mean the most. I loved her smart mouth, she has a tendency to say what she thinks, that had me giggling quite often at her one liners.

Tate is a sweet, charming, kind and sexy doctor. I loved the banter and interactions between this pair, and their chemistry and connection is undeniable.

Overall Kiss My Boots is a fun, sexy, emotion filled and heartwarming read. As much as I enjoyed the first title in the Coming Home series, Lost Rider I felt this title was an improvement on that, although I really loved the crossover of characters in both titles. I will be eagerly anticipating the next title in the Coming Home series.

Quinn Davis has had a hard time lately, find out secrets about her families past is hard to swallow. Now her life just got more challenging, her first love, the boy who walked away and didn't look back, is now back in her life and he wants her back.

Tate Montgomery only felt at home when her was visiting her grandparents on the sleepy little town of Pine Oak. He's back now that the reasons for his leaving are not in the way anymore and he wants his first love back. Quinn was Tate's best friend and it killed him to leave her, now he needs to find a way to win her back.

With her past back in her life Quinn leans on her best friend and her older brothers for support, but what happens when they aren't exactly with her in her plan to keep her heart locked away.

Tate is finally getting what he wants, a chance to prove to Quinn that he loved her. But her heart maybe harder to gain when she finds out his reasons for leaving in the first place.

Can Tate win back the love of his life? Will Quinn open her heart to love again? What will become of this amazing family Harper Sloan had written about?

I loved his story so much and I can't wait for book to three!! I want more from this family and waiting for Clay's book will be torture!!

I have heard nothing but amazing things about Harper Sloan books so when I got the chance to read Kiss my boots I was so excited and I dived into the book as soon as I possibly could. It was such a fantastic read. The second chance romance between Quinn and Tate was just wonderful , there love story was sexy , fun and filled with so much cute and heartwarming moments . I loved that we also got to see flash back scenes as well , I feel like flashback scenes always help you understand more about the characters as well as give you a deeper connection with them , which helps you become so much more emotionally invested in there story and that is exactly what happened here, but besides the romance there were so many other things that I just adored about the book that just kept my eyes glued to every word. Kiss My Boots was a sexy , fun , heartwarming contemporary romance and did I mention there was cowboys ? ... really hot cowboys lol. I cannot wait to see what Harper Sloan has in store for us next in the coming home series . If you love all these thing in stories you should definitely pick up a copy of this book .

KISS MY BOOTS is the second installment in Harper Sloan’s contemporary, adult COMING HOME erotic, romance series focusing on the Davis siblings: Maverick, Quinn and Clayton Davis. This is auto mechanic Quinn Davis, and physician Tate Montgomery’s story line. KISS MY BOOTS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person points of view (Quinn and Tate) including some memories of the past, KISS MY BOOTS is a second chance romance between auto mechanic Quinn Davis, and ob-gyn Tate Montgomery. Nine years earlier Tate Montgomery walked out of Quinn’s life leaving a heartbroken woman to struggle with the how and whys. Tate and Quinn were childhood friends, summer lovers and in love; planning a future together as Tate prepared for medical school but within days all traces of Tate disappeared while Quinn struggled to move on with her life. Fast forward to present day wherein Quinn is now the successful owner of the family run garage, and Tate Montgomery has returned to Pine Oak Texas, looking for a new start and a second chance with the woman he has always loved. What ensues is the rekindling romance between Tate and Quinn as our couple come face to face with demons from their past.

Nine years ago Tate Montgomery left Quinn Davis for Atlanta, Georgia on his way to a promising medical career but in doing so left behind his heart and his soul destroying the woman with whom he promised a happily ever after. Tate was not a hometown boy but a young man who spent his summers in Pine Oak, Texas at his grandparents home, where falling in love with Quinn was immediate and fated. Quinn Davis’s life was never the same when the man that she loved refused to acknowledge her existence; refusing to move forward Quinn would never find love knowing that her heart belonged to a man who no longer cared. With issues of abandonment, the fall out of Tate’s disappearance sent Quinn into a darkness that continues to present day.

The relationship between Quinn and Tate is one of second chances; a love that never waivered in spite of the circumstances and disappearance of Tate from Quinn’s life. Their rekindling romance is met with very little resistance as Tate explains the who, what and why of his years of silence. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Maverick and Leigh (Lost Rider #1), eldest brother Clayton Davis, Tate’s friend Mark Blake; an assortment of office staff and nosey townsfolk. The Davis sibling’s relationship is very close; a tight knit family of brothers and sister whose lives were destroyed by secrets, lies and betrayal, and a father who struggled with his own personal demons.

KISS MY BOOTS is a story of romance and love; of second chances; of one man’s need to atone for sins of the past. The premise is engaging and heartwarming; the romance is edgy and emotional; the characters are animated and passionate. KISS MY BOOTS is a wonderful and energetic addition to Harper Sloan’s romantic, cowboy series COMING HOME.

5 Stars!

Harper...Harper...Harper... I swear this woman puts a spell in each of her books to keep you hooked, addicted, and begging for more. You wanna hear the kicker? Cowboys and the western feel aren't usually my thing but I'm thinking Mrs. Sloan could write a children's book or history textbook and I world devour it like the last spot of bread in the world.

Each book... each release... each character... each journey... each word... unforgettable, sweet, captivating, intense, passionate, steamy, sexy, and full of so much love that my kindle is about to burst at the seams at times. I have been a fan of hers since book the beginning so this series and this book in particular had big expectations to live up too.

Kiss My Boots is the second standalone novel in the Coming Home series and my favorite to date. Packed with heart, heat, and relatable characters, Quinn and Tate were so worth the wait. This book and their story was a nice change of pace and a nice breath of fresh air after coming off of some heavy books.

Sometimes you have to give love a second chance... so that you can get that amazingly perfect happily ever after.

Tate and Quinn... sigh I loved these two. They weren't without flaws and their journey was marred with imperfections along the way but it only made their story that much sweeter. Their engaging banter and sizzling chemistry was totally undeniable in all the right ways from the start. I loved every moment of their beautiful and emotional second chance journey to their forever love.

And in case you were wondering about those expectations and high bar I set for this novel... she smashed all of my expectations and gave me... more.

I highly recommend this book.

I'm not gonna lie: I've been waiting for this release since I read Lost Rider and was introduced to the spitfire that is Quinn Davis. Harper Sloan absolutely won my heart with that book and she proved just how much she deserves it with Kiss My Boots. I already knew that Quinn was my favorite kind of heroine: sassy, strong, independent, able to stand up for herself, but willing to fall for the right man. And Tate... Good GAWD Tate! In books and in real life, I prefer the man to be the pursuer and Tate sure did go after his woman! It was sexy as heck reading their back and forth - Tate's determination to win Quinn back and Quinn's persistence at basically telling him "uh uh honey." I gobbled this book down (just as I did Lost Rider). I can't wait for Cowboy Up! I give Kiss My Boots 4.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

I have been reading Harper Sloan for quite a while. She is one of my favorite one-click authors, so when it was announced that she was writing a new series, I was completely on board.

I first met Quinn in Lost Rider, the first book in the Coming Home series. She was spunky and genuine, smart and sassy, but so easy to love and root for, I couldn't wait to get to her story. Quinn isn't your typical character, preferring to keep her tomboy ways by spending all her time in the auto body shop. Quinn is such a deep charter, and I really enjoyed going along for the ride as Quinn not only finds herself, but deals with her heartbreaking past.

Tate was such a special guy. Strong in who he is, protective of those that matter most and patient enough to confront and work for the things he wants most in his life. I am always a sucker for second chance love stories, but the twist in this story was one I wasn't expecting. Tate is not only able to see beyond Quinn's tomboy, auto body shop loving ways, but he loves her deeply, broken places and all.

I have been so impressed with the deepness of the stories in the Coming Home series and absolutely loving the way these books hook you in early and leaving you begging for more by the end of the book. Harper Sloan has totally hit this one out of the park and I can't want to see what she has in store for Clayton's book!
