Great addition to a phenomenal series, I have been waiting for Tao to meet his Mate and he got a great one. I love when a heroine can give as good as she gets, and can stand on her own two feet. There was plenty of action and steamy romance as well as the usual banter with Greta which his hilarious. I highly Recommend this story
Good add to the series. Tao is protective of his family and do not like new people. Riley got under his skin and once he had her, he was determined not to let her go. It does not matter if they are true mates or not, she is his and no one will come between them.
Great characters and it's exciting to be introduced to other species of shifters. While I really liked the main couple of the story, I didn't feel their connection until the very end.
Tao! Oh how I loved that man, and I truly enjoyed his and Rileys story. We get a different group of shifters than we've had before out of the Ravens and I liked the little peeks into the differences between the flock and a pack. For lovers of this series you will not be disappointed. Plenty of what we've come to love from this author laughs, fights and some deliciously hot moments between our leads. I so love the Phoenix pack and I enjoyed the few moments we saw the Mercury pack group too. I did a full series reread before picking this up, as it had been awhile since I visited Bedrock and I highly suggest you do to, just because it's fun. Not because it's necessary. Those who haven't read this series do it!! Go back to Trey and Taryn though, you won't regret it.

Fierce Obsession is yet another winner in the Phoenix Pack series, these stories just keep getting better and better and I never tire of them.
This time it's Tao and Rileys story, we've met Tao before as head enforcer of the Phoenix pack, a serious taciturn individual who was not happy when Riley joined the pack, not trusting her or her reasons for being there.
Everything turns on it's head for Tao when he realises he can't stop the feelings he has for Riley, they get together after both getting completely 'hammered' at a party and fall into bed together, Tao realises the next morning that there is no going back from how he feels. RIley a raven shifter has a trust issues aplenty but also realises how important Tao is to her.
A great tale, we revisit many members of the pack, lots of action and past revelations make for a thoroughly engrossing read
Thanks to net galley and publisher for opportunity to review an ARC of this book and give my honest opinion.
Sigh.
When Suzanne Wright creates an alpha I love, I love him hard. She did it with Nick. She did it with Darren. She did it with Ryan. And she has done it again, my friends. She gave me Tao. How do I explain Tao? Well…he is an alpha. Duh! He starts off being a bit of an ass to Riley (a few books ago, not in this one.) But then again, Riley isn’t pack and she is a raven, not a wolf, hence he doesn’t know her or trust her…all excellent reasons to not be nice to someone, for an alpha at least. For the record, I don’t like assholes so color me pleased when he wakes up with Riley in chapter one and he is all in. Of course, he doesn’t realize it at the time, but whatever. Yes he is stubborn; he is an alpha after all. But he is so sweet to Riley! Sigh. So sweet.
The latest in the Phoenix Pack series is Fierce Obsessions, starring Tao, head enforcer and Riley, new to the pack from the shelter. She came to the pack when Mackenna did, and she brought the two little kid shifters with her, Dexter and Savannah. Riley is their foster mom, for lack of a better description. She is a raven shifter that left her flock a few years before. She wasn’t a lone shifter, she was always welcome back to her flock but she had a past that she wanted a break from.
Fierce Obsessions has a few conflicts going on within its pages and they kept me guessing. They are different conflicts so I wondered if they would cross and who the bad guy was in conflict 2, and that one kept me guessing all through the book. This story was not predictable. I enjoy that. Especially when this shifter world goes 8 books, with crossovers and such, I think that is even more impressive.
Riley and Tao’s relationship was so mature. Never once did I get frustrated with either of them. They talked, and yes they did disagree and fight but they were adults about it and dare I say, compromising? They listened to each other. I gotta say, I really enjoy when grown adults act like grown adults. Maybe it’s because I’m a grown ass adult. Hmmm… Tao’s support of Riley was unwavering. He is so sweet. Every time he called her “baby”, I melted a little bit more. Also, this book starts off with a bang, no pun intended.
If you’ve never read this series, I wouldn’t necessarily just jump right in. The Phoenix Pack is now six books deep and Wright also interweaves The Mercury Pack within and that series is two books. The characters cross over both ways and a lot has happened throughout the lifetime of this world. Just start at book one, you won’t regret it.
I've been in the mood to read about shifters lately and I thought what better book to read than Ms. Wright's Fierce Obsessions! I fell in love with the first book I read in The Phoenix Pack series and I just fall more in love with each new book I read. Fierce Obsessions was just fantastic and I absolutely loved it!
There are some heroines you love right away and that's what happened with Riley! She's a total bada*s, she's tough and strong and she can do some major damage when she wants or has to. Of course, I loved that fierceness, but I also highly appreciated her devious, cunning, evil mind *cue the evil laughing.* There's just never a dull moment with Riley, she's fun and protective, loyal, hard but soft, and she has a good head on her shoulders. She has so much life in her - she's amazing and I positively loved her!
Just like I loved Riley, I loved Tao! He's possessive, protective, determined and the complete alpha male - basically everything I love in one of my heroes. It takes him a little while to realize how much he truly cares for Riley, but even before he did, nothing was going to stop him from having her and when he did realize, that drive increased exponentially. Tao doesn't always say the right things, but boy when he does, oh, he does it so well. Tao is just awesome and he utterly stole my heart!
I haven't read as many of Ms. Wright's book as I would like, but even with my small knowledge, I still know that Fierce Obsessions was another home run for her. It was engaging and entertaining and so enjoyable. It kept my attention, kept me on my toes and kept me guessing. It was full of passion, mystery, action, a little heartache, and a whole lot of life. It was beyond excellent and I can't wait for the next book!
Fierce Obsessions can be read as a standalone, it's told mostly from Riley and Tao's POV, and they do get their happily-ever-after ending.

Outstanding as always. Just how I imagined Tao all along. Love how Suzanne keeps the stories to the main characters. She includes everyone without taking away from the MC's. One of my top favorite couples! Great flow of story from beginning to end and kept me into the story from beginning to end. It's amazing after some many books in all the series combined can still always find a great story line.
4.5 Smoking Possessive Wolf Stars.
MS Wright, you always trip my triggers with your books. I loved this satory of two shifters who have been circling each other for a while. I loved that Tao got his story and that there was resolution to Riley's past.
Tao: I have wanted his story since Feral Sins, and was a little disappointed in his attitude towards Riley when they first met. I liked that they were not an instant thing, that they were more of a slow burn. They sizzled all the more beautifully. Tao is a possessive and territorial wolf who wants Riley but has never before had a fling with a pack member. His upbringing made him shy away from that. He also tends to dislike outsiders and distrusts them at first. However once they are in they are his to protect.
Riley, I loved that she was such a protector and that she was largely unruffled by Tao. She made me laugh and she was incredibly relatable. She was the mother figure for two adorable babies and they are equally protective of her. When faced with her past and danger to the pack her rage knows no bounds. She is fierce and a well rounded character.
Danger stalks the packs again in this installment and members of the pack and Riley's old flock are in danger by enemies that don't easily come to light. Tempers explode and pasts define new relationships. The heat between Riley and Tao is off the charts but Tao will have to be sneaky and hold fast if he wants to keep this Raven to himself.
This is the fifth book in The Phoenix Pack series. While it can be read as a stand alone I would suggest reading the series in order as many of the characters are reoccurring.
In this book we follow Tao, the head enforcer and Riley, a recent addition to the pack. While Riley isn't an official member of the pack she has been staying with them since for a few months. The book starts with Riley waking up with a hangover after drinking too much tequila. It was a funny and surprising way to start the book off with a bang. We meet all our old friends from previous books and meet a few new characters as well.
I really enjoy how each book has a different feel to it. Each couple is different and come together in ways that are unique and special to them. I love the snark and humor that Wright uses in her books. The stories are all full of humor and make for every enjoyable reading.
As always the characters where what really made the book for me but I did really enjoy the storyline as well. It didn't feel like a re-hash of any of her previous plotlines and in fact was different and mostly unconnected to any of the previous books. It was nice to have a break from the human extremists and the Movement. I didn't feel like the plot was the focus of the book. It generally took a backseat to the story of Tao and Riley's relationship which I didn't mind.
As always it was a fun, light read with hilarious and quirky characters that always make me laugh. I am always excited to read any book by this author and I am looking forward to any and all books that she publishes.
4.5 Sexy Shifter Stars!!!!!
I am a huge fan of Suzanne Wright. I just absolutely adore her style of writing and how she always has witty, sarcastic, strong lead female characters and her stubborn, strong, sexy alpha male hero’s. Fierce Obsessions is Tao and Riley’s story which is the 6th book in the Phoenix Series. I feel that Suzanne Wright did a great job explaining the other characters which is great for anyone who is not familiar with this series, they could easily pick this up as a standalone but for better understanding and enjoyment I do recommend reading the entire series- it is one of my all-time favorites.
We were originally introduced to Tao in Feral Sins, he is the Head Enforcer of the Phoenix Pack and one of the original members who formed the pack with Trey as teenagers. Tao is extremely loyal to his pack and not someone who handles any form of change well including accepting new members to the pack. Riley is a raven shifter and a new character who was introduced to us in Savage Urges. Riley was previously living at the Shelter for Loan Shifters protecting the two children Savannah and Dexter who were eventually adopted by the Phoenix pack.
One of my all-time favorite things about a series from Suzanne Wright is the interactions with her other characters that we already know and love. She manages to show us diehard fans the characters we love without taking away from the story we are reading. It’s the perfect combination which always brings me back for more.
I really enjoyed Tao and Riley’s story, and loved watching how they evolved from a mutual dislike to having so much more. Tao doesn’t like change and was very weary of Riley, Savannah and Dexter from the very first. He was concerned due to the reputation of loan shifters and worried for his pack members. Riley while extremely attracted to Tao didn’t care for his dislike of her. And while both Riley and Tao continued to argue the sexual tension between them was off the charts.
I really enjoyed learning about Riley’s past with her flock and uncles, along with more about what makes Tao tick. I don’t want to give too much away but seeing another relationship between an inter-species couple was really fun to read about and I can’t wait to see what happens if or when one of these couples has their first child. I really enjoyed that the mating between Riley and Tao was completely different than all the other couples in both the Phoenix and Mercury Pack Books.
I would defiantly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good shifter romance with a strong female heroine and sexy growly alpha male hero. In fact I highly recommend the entire series.

I have almost all of Suzanne Wright's books, and I liked them. But I really loved this one.
This is her best story yet! I love when with every book, the author just keeps getting better and better with the story, the characters, the setting, etc.
As always, I'm looking forward to the next one!
Fierce Obsessions is a quick, fun, enjoyable read. Anyone who is already a fan of Suzanne will definitely like it.
Suzzane Wright never disappoints. I just loved this book from start to finish. Her books are such a pleasure to read and I always get lost in the world she creates. That's what I call an amazing author. I won't go into the story, that's what the blurb is for. All I'm going to say is that I loved both main characters (plus the kids) :) If you like good story with lots of "heat" and love you'll love this one.
Please do yourself a favor and read this book you won't regret it, I promise!
I wanted to like this book, but I just felt meh about it. I was not connected to the characters. I'm not sure if it's a case of its me not you or if there really wasn't chemistry between Tao and Riley.
The book begins with Tao and Riley having had what she thinks is a one night stand. I think this intro to the story bugged me the most. Tao was already acting couple-y, so I felt like I didn't get that slow yearn for them to be together. It was them all at once and Tao demanding a relationship straight away.
To be honest I didn't really remember Riley much and, again, I'm not sure if its because it's been a while since I last read the books, or if it's because Riley didn't stand out too much. Either way I kept going WHO? There are also a lot of characters to remember and since they continue to expand occasionally reminding readers who the person is, aside from the Alphas, would be helpful, at least for me.
Riley and Tao weren't bad together, it's just that their relationship is kind of established early on, even with all Riley's internalizing that there wasn't much to enjoy. Not the new fluttery feelings, or much romance. It just didn't come through for me. I wanted it too, I also kept finding myself wandering and kind of being annoyed and board.
But once the conflict started showing up, I was slightly more engaged. I kept trying to figure out who might the shooter be as I had no idea or clue. Which is something I enjoy guessing. And there is a secondary conflict as well that I also found kind of annoying, actually I kind of wondered if we <spoiler> met this character before at the Shelter. Ramon is a mob type guy who wants Taryn to heal his brother's brain tumor. At risk to herself. *eye roll* But I thought we met him before, but the book makes it seem he's new so *shrugs* I guess he's new. (Ryan's book might hold the answer) </spoiler>
Anyways I still enjoyed seeing the gang and all that, it was interesting about Raven shifters and I enjoy the new species aspect. I can't wait for Dom to get a mate. That is going to be hilarious.
<i>This book was given to me for free by the publishers via Netgalley, all views expressed in this review are mine and mine alone. </i>
So another book that did not quite fit to my taste. I love SW and I know there is enough you can write before all the stories start blurring together and I feel she is at that point. The last book I read from her was Force of Temptation and I had issues with it's repetitiveness and this did nothing to help that. It was the same cycle all over again.
The introduction of a new specie in the series is a good one but we aren't given much info on ravens except the fact that they sleep when they are wounded. The issue with Riley and her pack was another thing. The search for the culprit behind the attacks was almost lackadaisical, considering that Trey and Taryn are both mental, I figured there would be no stone un-turned to find out who was responsible, instead they went on their way and then got angry when something happened.
The bit with Greta, I get it, she's a bitch that likes ruffling feathers but if there is someone like that that always causes trouble, and she has for the past 6 books if i'm not mistaken, then I would expect the alpha to have a sit-down with her even if she raised him or whatnot. It just gets tedious to read about her creating trouble without any repercussions.
Riley is a raven staying with the Phoenix pack. She wakes up from a hangover and naked in bed with Tao. Tao is a wolf shifter and a Guardian for the Phoenix pack. She is invited back to her flock for her uncles anniversary party. Tao goes with her and can't keep their hands off each other.
Someone is shooting at Riley and her flock. They believe it's because of an incident that happened several years ago and they blame her. Tao wants to go back home but she doesn't want to leave her uncles. But he talks her into it so whoever was after her would follow them and they'd catch them.
Now he'll do anything to keep her safe and his.
Funny, suspenseful, smoking hot, and of course the crazy Greta. I love Mrs Wright's books, they always make me laugh and need a cigarette ( if I smoked ).
