This book is book three of the Shadow Creek, Montana series and while it could stand alone, one should REALLY read the first two books of the series for maximum impact. You should also read them because they are fabulous. All sex happens off-screen, and there is very minimal cursing and no f-bombs, so if you avoid books with those things in them you do not have to worry with this one.

I am fairly new to Ms. James' books but now that I have read a couple, I want to go back and consume everything she has ever written. After reading The Baby Bombshell, I was very anxiously awaiting this book and I am so glad to say that it not only didn't disappoint, it exceeded my expectations. I very stupidly started reading this one at 11:30pm, figuring to read for a half hour and get to sleep by midnight. Yeah, that didn't happen. At 1:30am I finally *forced* myself close my Kindle and go to bed, even though it killed me to stop reading. I was pretty sure that I knew who The Muffin Man was when I read Baby Bombshell, so I was excited to read this book and find out that I was right, but I'll be honest and admit that I did not even begin to consider what TMM's background story would be. That revelation dragged me into this book to the point where I finished it in 3 hours because I just couldn't stop reading until I got to the end of the story.

The Muffin Man/TTM (whose real name is Luke) and Gwen were perfect together. They had a mutual attraction to each other from the start, but while Gwen started to put herself out there to try and gain his attention, Luke kept his attraction to her firmly under wraps. Despite his outer cool shell, Luke's unexpected and uncharitable inner thoughts about Gwen's dear friend Ben made me snort-laugh and just reaffirmed his feelings for her. The crux of this story was the undeniable attraction and affection between Gwen and Luke. I couldn't get enough of the two of them together, and I found myself just wanting to hug them both. Gwen has lower self esteem (I LOVED the speech she got in the dressing room, oh my gosh) but she didn't stop trying and she was the kind of character that I love and could totally see myself being friends with.

This book made me tear up more than once. Luke trying to cope with his past was gut-wrenching, but it was also incredible and made me like him more than I already did. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a story that is incredibly well-written and surprisingly emotional but that isn't too heavy and has a beautiful, well-deserved happily ever after. Five stars.

I requested and was generously granted an ARC of this book via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to write this review, I did so because the book was wonderful.

this was a nice story. Knowing he felt so guilty was distracting.

Wow, this was definitely a sole searching and emotional story. This is my first book from this author, I loved Gwen's sassiness and the way she cared about others while running her bakery in the small town in Montana. Luke (aka TMM) was a hot doctor working in the small hospital, who ends up falling head over heels in love with Gwen, even though he carried a huge burden that he knew would tear the two of them apart. This story was heart wrenching in places, but what you end up with at the end is life goes on, and the power of forgiveness is everything in life so you can move on. Loved the humor that theses two characters had between them, and when they do finally get together, wow! Little Maggie was adorable, loved the Bailey family. Definitely worth the read, I didn't realize this was the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone, but I will go back and read the first two to get the background of the other characters. Very quick read, I did it in one sitting.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc copy of this book.

I've loved Victoria James' Shadow Creek series, so to be taken back so soon after the last visit was a treat.

"...from her first encounter with her Muffin Man, she’d known he was special."

At the end of The Baby Bombshell, we were given a fair hint on Gwen Bailey's potential love interest and, already knowing that Victoria can write a very fine doctor, I was excited to discover Gwen's mystery customer, The Muffin Man, was Dr. Luke Thompson.

"She made him feel like there was hope. She made him believe in redemption."

Once again Victoria brings her reader a lovely story with heart, humour, characters who feel like family and a journey to lose yourself in. The link between Gwen and Luke was one I didn't see coming and, as always, they were wonderful together despite potential heartache simmering away in the background.

"Not one minute goes by where I don’t want you."

However, as much as I enjoyed The Doctor's Redemption, I can't help but feel that this couple were sold a bit short: in comparison to the previous books, it was on the shorter side and whilst there's no denying it held feeling, it just wasn't with the same emotional impact and felt a little condensed. Nevertheless, I still loved Luke and Gwen, Victoria once again has created a couple you would love to have in your life and I'm looking forward to seeing if Luke's sister, Haley will be the next to find love.

Luke and Gwen's story grabs a hold of your heart. Luke, a man that can't get over the guilt with an event in his past. Gwen, a woman who is finally ready to start living following the loss of her brother and nephew.

When the two meet they have no idea who the other is. Luke finds out first and can't bring himself to tell her the truth because she makes him feel alive again. But when the truth comes to light. Will their relationship last or will it be torn apart?

There are some amazing moments in this book. The push and pull with in Luke is strong. You just want to grab him and shake some sense into him. His kind heart leaps off the pages. Gwen has always been the one to care for others and Luke takes care of her. A nice change. Luke's sister and Gwen's family are well written supporting characters. The storyline is well thought out.

Absolutely adorable story, I loved it! Gwen and Luke are a perfect match. I enjoyed reading their story. It was both happy and sad at the same time, it made me laugh, and it made me cry, that's why I loved it so much. It's a must read if you enjoy contemporary romance.
Gwen hasn't been able to find her perfect man. But she is ready. And TMM is handsome in a roguish way, now all she needs to do is get his attention. She is prepared to take the first step. He has been coming to her shop for quite some time now. May be he hasn't noticed her because she is always dressed in lose, baggy clothes, so with the help of her sister-in-law she tries to pay attention to her looks. Now he won't be able to ignore her charm.
Luke has been admiring Gwen from afar. He is too afraid to talk to her even though there is so much he needs to say. So when she takes initiative he is confused. He can't be involved with her but now that she has made her intentions clear he is having even harder time resisting. Soon they're spending time together and falling in love every day... but what will happen when the truth finally comes out?
It's a beautifully written story. I loved all the characters, and enjoyed reading it a lot. I'd definitely be recommending it to my friends. <3

A heartwarming tale that will have readers caught from the very beginning. Sorrow, heartache, loss, and grief are emotions that Doctor Luke Thomson has learned to live with. One emotion he isn't prepared for when he meets chocolatier, Gwen Bailey, is hope. He has lived a half a life for years and he is thrown off guard when he first walks into Gwen's shop. Gwen is suffering with her own sense of loss and her self worth and she isn't any more prepared for Luke as he is for her. Readers will be swept up in their story and will laugh, cheer, cry, and fall along with the characters. Definitely recommend.

received an ARC of the The Doctor’s Redemption by Victoria James from NetGalley for my honest review. I had never read this author before, and I really enjoyed it. I finished the book in one day it kept me hooked until the end. This is the story of Doctor Luke James and Gwen Bailey. She is always taking care of everyone else and hasn’t followed her dreams because her family needed her. Tragedy struck years ago and ever since her family leans on her. Now with her Chocolaterie open she can work on her dream of finding someone to spend her life with. Doctor Luke Thomson is filled with guilt for something that happened five years ago. He came to Shadow Creek in hopes of making amends. He promised himself he would stay away from Gwen because once she knows his secret she will never be able to look at him as the same man. He couldn’t resist Gwen and this is the story of Luke and Gwen and I really recommend it. It is a fast read and I absolutely loved it. I will be checking out the authors other works after reading this. I give this book five stars. Read this book so you can see if Luke finds the redemption that he is looking for.

"You can't tell me what or who I need. You can't tell me who I can fall in love with. All I know is that life passes by and if you're too afraid to take a risk, one day it'll be all over and there'll be nothing to show for our time here. If you don't want me, that's one thing. But to not even try because you're afraid? I don't think so."

The Doctor's Redemption is the third book in the Shadow Creek, Montana Series, but can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. Told from dual points of view, The Doctor's Redemption follows the story of Gwen and Luke. After a terrible tragedy tore her family apart, Gwen has spent her time taking care of everyone and everything around her; even if that means putting her wants and dreams aside. Flash to the present, Gwen's life is finally on track and she's starting to live her dream. The last thing she ever planned on was meeting Luke....5 years ago, Luke's life was hit with a major tragedy. To this day, he still harbors guilt. He wants to make amends for his past. What he never planned on was Gwen. He knows he should stay away, but he can't deny the pull that he feels towards her. Will Luke and Gwen take a chance on what could be an amazing HEA? What will happen when Gwen learns of Luke's past? You'll just have to pick up this book and see for yourself.

The Doctor's Redemption might be a novella, but this book packs a punch. It is fast paced and grabs you from the very beginning. The Doctor's Redemption is a wonderful story about second chances, forgiving oneself and redemption. I think this story was sweet and had a lot of heart. It does deal with some rather tough subject matter, but I believe that it was handled and written well.

Overall, I thought The Doctor's Redemption was a quick and easy read. I was able to finish it in just a few short hours and thought it had just the right amount of romance with a dash of drama. Overall, an enjoyable read.

The Doctor’s Redemption by Victoria James is the third book in the Shadow Creek, Montana Series which is scheduled to be released on May 22, 2017 by Entangled Publishing, LLC and is a romance, women’s fiction novel. This book is a fun romantic read set in Shadow Creek, Montana. Luke was in an accident five years ago that killed five people. He returns to Shadow Creek to try to find a way to apologize for the accident and make amends to the people he hurt. Upon his return he begins to stop at Gwen and Lily’s chocolate shop after work each morning. Luke sees Gwen every morning without having any idea who she is. This begins a perfect setup for an ill fated romance. The author uses the characters past to cause issues with their current relationship. The way the writer writes the setting and characters attraction makes this a fun romantic read. I look forward to the next book in this series.

This is a fun romance in the Shadow Creek, Montana, series that I just loved. Five years ago, Luke was driving in an accident that killed five people. He returns to Shadow Creek to try to find a way to apologize and make amends to the people he hurt. Somewhere, along the way he began stopping in Gwen and Lily's chocolate shop after work each morning. He sees Gwen every morning without having any idea who she is. Thus begins a perfect setup for an ill fated romance.

The Doctor's Redemption made me smile, even as the characters dealt with difficult things, their inherent goodness came through. I loved how they found a way to overcome their pasts and find a way to their futures. This is a feel good romance.

Fans of the genre will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Another heart felt book in the Shadow Creek series. Not as sad as the others so I think that I liked it better.
