Wow. I was truly a hot mess throughout this story. My heart was on my sleeve for both Logan and Bella and I really hoped and prayed for a happily-ever-after for them. I just didn’t know if they could each get over the hurdles that has been put in front of them.

I don’t even want to summarize this wonderful story. I hope you will indulge me and understand that there is a lot going on, a lot of secrets, a set of parents that could be called protective but I would call over-bearing. There were friends who knew everything, stood alongside them as events unfolded but, at Logan’s instance, kept quiet about it all. There was a man who was truly in love with a woman and a woman who didn’t know if he could accept her as she was now. There was some talk about the past but it was just enough for you to understand exactly what they went through to find each other again. I was a little sad, a little happy and a little bit in love. There were times I wanted to hit Logan over the head and times that I wanted to wake Bella to open her eyes to everything around her. They were a perfect match that the fates threw together again and it was up to them to either embrace it or defy the fates.

Amy Andrews is a new-to-me-author and I am so happy that I found her. I am looking forward to more from her Hot Aussie Knights series. She wove a wonderful tale that incorporated just enough of the past with the present, just enough of the fire department and a whole lot of love. Her writing was interesting and fluid. She didn’t drag the story on but let it flow off the pages. You understood where each of the characters were coming from and where they hoped they were going. As I said, I didn’t know if they would have been able to find an HEA but they did and she wrote it in such a way that you knew it was the perfect ending to the perfect story.

Hot Mess by Amy Andrews

How do you forget the one you love?

Logan Knight is a firefighter who is just treading water in life. He loves his job but it is his personal life where he is dependent upon family and friends after his relationship broke down. They were too young. It was too hot. It was too fast. Then one day out the window of the fire station he sees her again. But it may not be her. He races out the door and it is her but she doesn’t remember him. The love of his life does not remember him.

Arabella Tucker had an accident. She has a form of amnesia that may never recover. Her memory loss covers the last nine years of her life, the time she spent with Logan. Logan is determined to help her remember them but despite his desire and his methods, she doesn’t remember their time. Logan is keeping one part from her and she is devastated when she finds out what he has been hiding.

This story is about a return to love. This couple separated during a very difficult time and, as they were young, were not prepared to fight for them. It is a traumatic event that may also tear them apart as adults. Fortunately, they are willing and wanting to be together despite some of the odds. And there is the chemistry between the couple. The desire is too strong, or maybe it is fate, that makes them reconnect. As Logan and Bella sort through their issues, the sex is great.

Logan Knight was back in Brisbane fire station after couple years and faces his love of life Bella Tucker right outside of the window. When he rushes by her side but she doesn’t remember who he was. They were madly in love when they were barely 20 years old but Bella walked out on them.
Bella doesn’t remember Logan because 5 years ago, she was in horrible bicycle accident that caused amnesia and erased all the memories from when she was 19 to 23 years old. When she meets him again but for her it is first time all over again.
Now Logan gets another chance with Bella but when he talked to Bella’s father, he promised to keep some of their past from Bella. Even though Logan feels Bella will eventually need to know and it will cause more damage later on if she finds out from someone other than Logan, He decided to reveal later.
Everything starting all over for them at least but Logan keeps wishing and hoping Bella will remember some of the memories and it is tear him apart and secret that he is keeping from Bella worries him.
Bella accepted the fact that she will never regain those memories again and enjoying her time with Logan. However everything will be changed when she finds about why Logan and Bella called it quits 8 years ago. Will second chance at their love will last this time??

I enjoyed reading this one. I really liked the fact that Bella’s condition was accepted and nothing really changed in the storyline. It was more of Logan and Bella’s story than him being a firefighter. I can’t wait to read about all the firefighters in his family.

I wasn't expecting this to be so emotional and heartbreaking. A very beautiful read about a young couple who dived in head first only to be ripped apart by tragedy. Years later and the hits keep coming and yet they have another chance. It's such a delicate line they walk but also a beautiful story told. If you're looking for a more emotional story that shows the depth of a love that beats all odds, this is the perfect book! ARC provided by NetGalley.

This was the first novel of Amy Andrews that I have read, but I really enjoyed Hot Mess. This novel dealt with the two main characters meeting again after 8 years. Bella the heroine does not remember Logan. I have to say this story of the heroine having amnesia and not remembering Logan after they have both gone through some horrible times. I did not want to put this novel down, this novel took me on quite the journey. There were times I wanted to knock Logan on the head and other times I wanted to shake Bella. I was really rooting for them both to get the happy ending they both deserves. This novel was written in dual point of views which I really enjoyed. I look forward to see what this author has in store next.

What a dramatic, emotive story this proved to be! It features Logan Knight who spots Arabella Tucker, the love of his life who left him nine years ago, sitting, eating her lunch outside the fire station where he is based. He goes up to her and is amazed to discover she doesn’t know who he is and has no memory of their relationship, but also that the chemistry between them is still as volatile as ever. She’s only in Brisbane for a few months but the two can’t resist rekindling their relationship. However, their past contains other events which she is unaware of, tragedy which drove them apart. Should he reveal all or concede to her parents’ requests not to tell her? As the two grow closer together, secrets from the past still have the power to push them apart . . . . can she cope with her own past history and the tragic events now?

This is a very moving story, packed with angst and turmoil as Bella and Logan succumb to their mutual attraction but she can’t recall their past. The problems of living with memory loss and the attitudes of others to this are sensitively explored as part of this heart warming story. This author has a brilliant way of describing emotions, events and scenarios that bring them to life in the reader’s imagination and this is very true of this story which runs the full gamut of emotions from grief to joy and everything in between. It is a very different second chance romance and a brilliant start to a new series which I have no hesitation in highly recommending.

I requested and was given a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.

at about 86% Amy had torn my heart out and I was a bawling mess as I felt the pain from these 2 characters. A pain and an anger that was totally understandable but still made me want to shake them both and make sure they do not push away the love that Amy made me feel coming off the pages!
but in true Amy Andrews fashion she saved me! and her characters! and gave us all the HEA that we demand!

I have chosen to DNF this title, which is a surprise to me as I usually love this author. But, there was something about the characters in this one...they never felt real to me and I never felt like I was reading about people. Instead of a low rating, I have decided not to finish the book.

I appreciate the opportunity to read and review and I look forward to the next title by Ms. Andrews, as I am sure this was a one time issue and I will love her next one!

This is my first read by Amy Andrews and the story kept me intrigued and glued to the edge of my seat in hopes of a HEA.

What I got, was a wonderfully written, yet often gut-wrenching story of lovers torn apart, only to be reunited nearly a decade later and one party unware of their previous life. Many tears flowed throughout the reading of Logan and Bella’s tale, but the gripping intensity kept me there till the end.

I’ll definitely be looking for more stories by this author.

Hot Mess is a unique second chance at romance which literally makes a reader think about what ifs.
Both Logan and Bella shared a past, nine years ago, a very intense one at that. When they meet again, it literally feels like the first time because of what Bella had gone through. Now as both Logan and Bella embark on their new relationship, can memories of the past make them stronger or break them apart.
Hot Mess is poignant, hopeful and intense. The relationship between Bella and Logan makes you really believe in fate.

A second chance romance between Logan and Arabella, but the only problem is Arabella does not remember the first the time . A scorching hot chemistry between the two but can they go forward with out Arabella remembering the past. Her parents want the past to remain history but Logan wants to move forward.

Loved this story of a rekindled romance. Great job with the amnesia of Arabella. Very likable characters, Once the truth came out, I was just rooting for Logan and Arabella to succeed in their relationship.

Looking forward to reading the rest of this series. I highly recommend this book by Amy Andrews.

Hot Mess is book 1 of the Hot Aussie Knights series and brings us Arabella 'Bella' Tucker and Logan Knight. A second chance romance with a secret that could tear it apart. This story has a bit of everything angst, twists and a love that was meant to be. I really enjoyed this series the characters interaction was well written and developed and I look forward to reading the next book in this series ‘Burning Both Ends’ by Sinclair Jayne to see what happens next.

Uff what a heartbreaker of a second chance at love story. My insides twisted and turned as Bella scrolled through Logan's phone. I guess I too was hoping she's get jolted into remembering. But yay Amy Andrews for this wonderful gut clenching, tear-jerking romance.

Hot Mess by Amy Andrews
Hot Aussie Knights #1

Logan Knight, fireman, has just returned to Brisbane. While looking at people passing by outside the fire station his brother Duncan comments on how much one of the women resembles a past love of Logan’s. Logan rushes out, calls Bella Tucker by name and is flabbergasted that she has not a clue who he is. What is a memorable year in his life for him is not even a vague memory to Bella – she has amnesia. The chemistry is still hot between them BUT Logan is coming in with his many wonderful memories of their time together while Bella is meeting Logan as if she had never met him before. His expectations and her reality do not always mesh but they decide to spend time together anyway. It is not easy going and there are obstacles to be overcome if they are to have their Fated HEA…

Well written story that made me think…”what if”. How would I have coped if I had been Bella? How would I have reacted if I had been Bella’s parents? A book that makes me think is a good book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – this is my honest review.

4 - "I promise to fight for you..." Stars!

I am a big fan of Amy Andrews writing, after reading the blurb for Hot Mess, I knew I had to read it.

Amnesia isn’t as fashionable a trope nowadays, but when used well it’s still one I enjoy hugely, and Amy nailed it with Logan and Arabella’s story.

"I can handle the truth…"

"…We weren’t just friends."

Everything happened pretty quickly with this couple, their reconnection after eight years, is slightly different than the norm, in that on first meeting Bella has no idea who Logan is, although it becomes apparent to her very quickly that this is a guy she felt a lot for, from their conversations, him sharing stories from their past, and the hot-as-hell chemistry between them.

Too many it would probably seem fast. But it just felt right.

Secrets and lies always have a habit of catching up with a person, and Logan’s guilt at not sharing the whole truth of their past quickly becomes a problem for him, especially when it becomes obvious that the relationship between them is developing into more than just a quick fling while Arabella is working in town.

She was the fire that lit his soul.

I read this book in one sitting, Amy is fast becoming one of my go-to authors when it comes for a quick fix of sexy-hot, entertaining romance. And Hot Mess fits that category perfectly. Being the first book in the Hot Aussie Knights series, we have a whole lot more to come from the Knight family in the form of further books from the likes of Sinclair Jayne, Victoria Purman and Trish Morey.

Hot Mess by Amy Andrews starts out a new series by Tule Publishing Hot Aussie Knights. It is a fast-paced second chance read that begins with the Knight men attending a funeral. This is the story that builds their background, setting the stage for the rest of the brothers’ stories to come.

Logan has a second chance with Bella who after an accident has completely forgotten when they were together. The amnesia element in stories is hard to make believe in stories but Ms. Andrews does an excellent job of writing a credible with the right amount of anguish without being over dramatic. Secrets come to light while these two characters finds their way back together.

Hot Mess is a strong start to the Knights. I look forward to the next brother’s story.

As I was reading Hot Mess I couldn’t help but place myself in Bella’s and in Logan’s shoes. How would it feel to lose almost a decade of memories? To not remember a man who you’d obviously loved and had a history with. And sharply on the heels of that thought came… How would it feel to be the one forgotten? Knowing it wasn’t a deliberate act, but having your existence wiped from someone’s memories, someone you’d loved, someone who you had a loving and tragic history with. If simply imagining it through my own eyes brought about such an emotional response in me, how much more painful would it be to actually experience it – unimaginable. And yet, it’s what an amnesia victim would have to deal with for the remainder of their life.

Logan and Bella’s story is heartbreaking on some levels, and hopeful, realistic on another level. I completely enjoyed their romance. It’s deeply touching, emotionally charged and so very believable. No one in this story was at fault. Although I certainly didn’t approve of some actions, I did understand the reasoning behind them. We are the sum of our memories. While there are certainly some aspects of past relationships I’d love to forget, knowing of them makes me who I am today.

Hot Mess is a powerful love story, one that I believe any reader of Romance no matter the genre would appreciate and enjoy. I was deeply touched by this couple, their story and the effects that one tragic moment had on their lives. I’d highly recommend this story, you’ll be emotionally touched at the very least – and perhaps hold your own memories, good or bad, even tighter to your heart.
