Peace in the Valley was a satisfying conclusion to this trilogy about 3 brothers. The themes of forgiveness and faith in God run through all three books. I enjoyed the story of Trey and Lucy and life on the Double S Ranch even though I think the first book was my favorite. I would love to see more books about this family... perhaps of the children when they’re grown.
I’m definitely interested in reading more books by Ruth Logan Herne.
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I've been following along though all three books and have been loving this trilogy and loving each book. I managed to read the books out of order but I made sure to get ahold of each and just felt the need to see what each brother gone through and seeing how they found themselves a life partner. If you like a good clean christian romance novels then I really believe that this trilogy will appeal to you.
When it came to this story it was about Trey who is a well known singer who is back in his home town because his adoptive father needs a transplant and he might be just the person to help him. Trey had a bad history when it comes to drugs, his parents, his late wife and its just something hes not willing to deal with again. Treys father got a lot to atone for and Trey wants to help out. When Trey ends up in a accident causes the lovely single mother who isn't a fan of Treys family he is willing to do everything and more to help this beautiful women out.
Just like the others I found plenty of things to love about this book. I loved getting to know more about the characters in this book. I loved getting the brief appearances of the previous books characters seeing a bit of what they are doing even if they aren't the main character. I loving getting to konw more about Trey and why he was a bit stand offish about having a relationship, especially with Lucy at this point of time. I loving seeing to see his point of view when its came to the whole issues of helping his father and seeing outside opinions on what he was going to do for his father, some trying to sway his opinions and hes conflicted to doing whats right. Overall this was a really enjoyable book I really enjoyed reading it.
I can't even choose between which book is my favorite between this series all the books were different and so dang enjoyable that I'd recommend you readers to check out all three if you can.
The last in the Double S Ranch series by Ruth Logan Herne follows Trey Walker Stafford, the youngest of the Stafford boys. Trey was orphaned at a young age when is parents overdosed on drugs. He was adopted by his uncle Sam Stafford, patriarch of the family and owner of the Double S Ranch. Trey is a successful country music star returning home to help his dad, Sam, during a time of illness.
All his life Trey has been a straight shooter, trying to prove to the world, himself, Sam, and his deceased parents that you can be in the spotlight and not succumb to drugs and alcohol. While Trey never struggled with addiction, his late wife did and she died from an overdose. Trey carries this guilt with him. He hates what drugs and alcohol do to people so much so that he has a hard time trusting anyone with a history of drug use. There is too much pain in his past from the effects of it.
Lucy Carlton is a struggling single mother who lives next door to the Stafford's. She had made many mistakes in her young adult life, and now she feels that she can't get ahead. Lucy doesn't like or trust the Stafford's due to Sam Stafford's dealing with her little farm and water rights from long ago that did much damage. Because of this Lucy's deceased husband blamed the Stafford's for all of their hardships.
To helps his father begin to right wrongs, Trey helps Lucy out at her farm and she reluctantly allows him to be there. Trey begins to fall in love with Lucy and her children. Lucy's heart begins to soften towards the Stafford family.
