Wasn't sure what I would find with this book, but since I like the author I decided to take a chance. Hard to put this one down! I really liked Gear (or Harrison) and Sadie together, and both of their families were a hoot. Gear had been on a reality show about motorcycles, and his fiance and best friend were cheating on him, both sexually and trying to push him out of the show. Sadie and her siblings, had a catering service, and the two met at an early Halloween party. Sparks flew, and the two became inseparable. I liked the honest and no holds they had with each other, and with others around them. I don't understand the stupid games some people play, so this was refreshing. Highly recommend this book and author. Fun read, just wish the author would have included the recipe for the molasses cupcakes. They sounded delicious.

Normally I love a Marie Harte book but this one just didn't live up to my expectations. The supporting characters were the best part. Their parents were a hoot, and I'm actually quite looking forward to the Next couple books that were set up in this one

I am a big fan of series and I like to revisit protagonists from previous books, learn how their partnership developped.

This book is a spin off from the “Donnigans” and some family members made an appearance.

But let´s start with this book:
While I like the cover, in my opinion it did not fit what I envisioned with the person described as Sadie. Maybe this is just me for myself, but this may raise wrong expectations.

Unfortunately - the book itself did not fullfill my expectations. I am a big fan of Marie Hartes books and I was absolutely happy to receive this book. While I enjoyed the “Donnigans” a lot I never got addicted to Sadie and Gears story. Until the end of the book I never felt like they loved each other – more like they had a casual hook up, something like this was a wham bam thank you ma'am kind of thing.
Sadie was interested in 3 things – baking, gym and sex. Gear was interested in motorbikes, gym and sex – oh – suprise – maybe thats enough for a marriage – this is a match of 2 out of 3....

Than – language. It is difficult to explain. I am absolute not prudish, I have no problem with cursing or explicit sex – but I missed some kind of verbal foreplay. There was nothing. It was „meeting, having sex like rabbits, that´s it.
Maybe the description „it lacked passion“ is the best I can give.

When Sadie is forced to go to a Halloween party by her brother, she is determined that she is not going to have a good time. However, the handsome man in the devil she meets has other plans for her. After the party, she learns that her Devil was actually Gear Blackstone, a fallen reality TV star from the show Motorcycle Madnezzz. Sadie tries to keep her emotional distance, but soon the two are falling for each other in a way they never expected.

At first, I was prepared to not like this book, mainly because I hate Halloween and I thought the premise of the fallen reality TV show had the possibility to come off at hokey. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Gear and Sadie have amazing chemistry in the books and I really enjoyed seeing their personalities and relationship develop together. At first, I wasn't sure if Sadie would be likeable, but soon I found myself cheering for her and enjoying her cranky ways. This was a fun read, even though it involved Halloween and I am excited for the library copy to come in and for my patrons to be able to read this fun Halloween romance.

I love Halloween. Most holiday romance books are centered around Christmas or Thanksgiving. Where, All I Want for Halloween, is definitely just that. I might have had a couple Pumpkin Spiced Lattes while reading it too.

Ready for Halloween? If you want to get in the mood in October, I recommend this book. It will get you in the mood for Halloween and give you a funny, sassy, somewhat reality-tv based contemporary romance. It seems to be a stand alone book, which is nice if you are not looking for a new series.

The two main characters Sadie Liberato and your (soon to be) book boyfriend, Gear Blackstone are a treat to read about. They are not perfect and both have some emotional baggage to overcome before committing to a new relationship. The author makes it fun throughout the book by throwing out tidbits about what Gear's real name is and what Sadie's family is like. I liked all the nuances of stable family lives from both of the main characters. Those details really add to the fun of the story.

I think it's a bit refreshing that Sadie is a woman who knows what she wants. There is no shame in the story (nor should their be), but after the first few chapters will know what I mean. I like that Sadie is a successful business woman who is doing what she enjoys. It's not quite what her dad had in mind for her, but it makes her happy. That is a message we can all take away from the story. It also throws in a new perspective about staring in a reality-tv series. Since I have no experience in that area, I can only assume that Harte did her research because it all seemed plausible to me. So, the sign of good fiction writing?

I think this is my first book that I read by Marie Harte and I really enjoyed it. A perfect fall read!

When Sadie Liberato is cajoled by her brother to attend a costume party a month before Halloween, she had no idea she'd fall for a handsome devil in a mask. Or that she'd have one hellishly fine encounter in the dark. But when her masked devil turns out to be Gear Blackstone, fallen TV reality star of the super popular show, Motorcycle Madnezz, she wonders if this is a match made in heaven or hell...

Gear Blackstone started his own motorcycle business with his best friend. It turned into a reality TV show and all was well until his fiancé and best friend slept together then trashed Gear on national TV. They cut him off the show and out of the business he’s worked so hard for. It’s been two months and Gear is a bit lost as to what he wants to do now.

Sadie is co-owner of Sofa’s Baker with her brother and sister. She loves her work but other than that she really has no life. She’s once caught Gear’s reality show briefly and wasn’t impressed with it or him.

Sadie’s at a Halloween party when she meets a guy dressed as a devil. They hit it off and end up having sex behind some plants. Bold or stupid? I can’t decide. Anyway, Gear figures out who Sadie is and heads to her bakery to see if he can get her on a date. Sadie loved her recklessness at the party but she’s not interested in a relationship and is a bit put out when she finds out it was Gear she had sex with. Despite her misgivings about Gear she ends up having sex regularly with the man. She finds herself getting closer to him and she’s not sure she’s ok with that. She’s been hurt in the past and isn’t interested in getting hurt again.

This was a really cute book. I loved Sadie and Gear because they were so upfront about things. When Gear was irritating her she told him so. When she wanted to have sex, she told him so. No beating around the bush with either of them. Some would say it was crass and too blunt but I found it refreshing. Yes, Sadie hid her feelings for Gear for short time but everything was soon out in the open.

As I said, Sadie was a straight-shooter – well, Gear was as well. He’d been so hurt by his best friend and fiancé – although he knew he didn’t love the fiancé so he wasn’t too torn up about it. It was mostly his best friend. Not only did they screw him over but then they liked about it to make it look like Gear was the bad guy and had cheated on his fiancé first. I wanted to grab them both through the book and slap them silly. It was just so hurtful. Gear managed to get through this all with Sadie’s help an I was happy when he finally went after what he wanted professionally and gave his old friends the finger.

Overall a fun book that I really enjoyed. If you want a sweet romance this isn’t the book for you. IF you like gritty characters that are upfront and plain talking then pick this one up.

It took me a little bit to get into this book because the main characters were a lot to take at the beginning but as I got to know them more and their relationship developed I grew to like them. I really liked the hero and how adorable he was. I'm all for a tough chick but the heroine was almost too much of a caricature of a tough chick. I didn't like all the violence and attitude she had. I loved all the supporting characters, especially how awesome their families were.

“Her dad turned back to Gear, his gaze intense. “So in essence, you’re hot for my daughter’s…sweets?”
Gear opened and closed his mouth. “Um, I guess. Is that a euphemism? Or are we really talking baked goods? God’s honest truth, I’m hot for both. So yeah.”

One of the many moments that had me laughing. I really hated that the story ended. So hoping there will be more about the others. Sadie is a riot. She tells it like it is and isn’t afraid to get in anyone’s face. Gear is a lot like her. He is dealing with the implosion of his personal life, which being on a reality show isn’t all that private. Meeting Sadie is just what he needs. She isn’t impressed by his celebrity status or money. She jumps in and defends him even though it brings her unwanted attention from the press.

More closely connected to The Donnigan series but loosely connected to the Body Shop Bad Boys series (mention of Foley and Cy at the beginning of story).

Sadie’s pushed into going to a Halloween party she and her siblings catered by her brother. While there she meets Gear, a man who was on a reality show that created drama and hate for him that was unfounded. The costars of the show set him up to look like a terrible guy, but Sadie realizes what happened. Both Gear and Sadie are rough around the edges but with hearts of gold underneath their stern exterior. The secondary characters help make this story an unforgettable one, and I can’t wait to read Marie Harte’s next book with the other characters (Hint! Hint!)

All I Want for Halloween is a fun, sexy, hot romance that leaves you wanting more. I immediately fell in love with this book and all of the characters. Gear and Sadie have this combustible romance in and out of the bedroom. Both Gear and Sadie suffered through bad relationships, both of them hurt. They are both apprehensive about starting another relationship with anyone. So when their friendship starts to become more, Gear slowly accepts it while Sadie still fears it due to her past hurts. Gear feels guilty bringing Sadie into his life after a fall out with his reality TV show, but Sadie shows Gear that she is strong enough to defend herself and him which has Gear loving her even more. I absolutely LOVED this book! I didn't want to put it down once I started it. I found myself literally laughing out loud during certain times in the book. I loved each and everyone of the secondary characters in this book as well and I hope their books follow soon. I would highly recommend buying this book, you will not be disappointed!

Usually romance books are based around Christmas. So I totally loved the Halloween theme.

Sadie is forced to go to a Halloween party with her brother Elliott. A party she doesn't want to go to. She loves Halloween but she isn't really a people person. So once she's at the party she finds herself a nice spot to sit and eat while distancing herself from everyone until the masked devil himself invades her space.

Gear Blackstone didn't want to be at the party. But he had no other choice. He didn't want to be anywhere near his ex best friend and ex fiancé. They are the ones who screwed his life up and made him to look like the bad guy. But there he was at a party he could care less about. What he didn't expect to find was a woman who's company he enjoyed and a little something else.

Within no time Gear and Sadie end up spending more and more time together. Making there relationship more then either of them planned on.

A fun, breezy spin-off from the Donnigans made cuter with the Halloween theme, making me long for autumn, fall clothes, and a PSL. The book starts with a bang, literally, when Sadie and Gear hook up at a costume party a month before Halloween, and it turns out they are a match made in hookup heaven.

Despite their intense chemistry, Sadie's massive insecurity is a huge obstacle for them. After her last boyfriend cheated on her, Sadie refuses to even entertain the idea of love or a serious relationship, despite Gear telling her and just about everyone how he feels about her. Gear constantly chases after her, but Sadie continues to act blind and deaf to her true feelings. This grew repetitious and painful, and even a bit boring.

Luckily, Sadie and Gear's story was also full of their wickedly irreverent, and off-the-wall family members. Marie Harte has such a knack with funny, supportive family members and the hippie, biker, genius, Mafia accountant, and playboy in the Liberato and Blackstone families are some of her best.

Another pet peeve: what was with the cover? Sadie dressed as a warrior princess the night she met Gear, so it absolutely bugged me that the cover model doesn't remotely resemble a warrior princess.

This was an enjoyable quick read. I liked the motorcycle mechanic/reality TV concept and I got a kick out of Sadie's and Gear's families whose interactions in no way resemble those in my family. All in all, I liked the story line and the heated romance and very much appreciated the variety of supporting characters. This earned about 3.5 stars in my ongoing search for well written romances with decent plots and 3D characters.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Perfect story- I wouldn't change a thing. Marie Harte is a character-creating genius.

Inside this story you will find two characters who have been burned badly by past relationships, but find that they are perfect for each other. Their screwball families only make me want to know more about them. Love this book!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the ARC for my honest review.

I have read many books by Marie Harte and usually enjoy them. I would rate this a 4.5. This one was a winner-I know ti's not for everyone-there is alot of sex and there is violence. I enjoyed the straight forward characters who both had trust issues. They were both strong figures. I won't give any spoilers, but the book made me laugh at myself and the characters and their craziness. I read for many different reasons and this one was just for fun-and I truly enjoyed it. I say if you enjoy spicy romance then give it a go. Enjoy as I certainly did!

This story is part of the Donnigan series. It features Sadie, who is not a Donnigan but is friends with them. It starts very strangely with Saide a reality tv junkie for this motorcycle show with two friends and this guy Gears, girl friend. The show is showing that Gear has discovered that his best friend is sleeping with the girl friend. Meanwhile the friend and ex say he is the one that really cheated. Meanwhile Saidie's brother Eiott wants her to go to a Halloween party.

Then we meet Gear who was cheated and betrayed some two months before and now the show is finally on tv, he is told he must go to a halloween party with them as part of the contract. Well guess who he meets at the party. Yep Sadie and wel she beyond impresses him and it was really fun because she impresses me too.

This was a fun story with a kickass heroine and a little reality tv thrown into the storyline. At some points I found the story was over the top and not 100% believable like Gear's family, sorta a steam punk troupe that travels. It also has lots and lots of HOT sex scenes. But beyond that I really enjoyed the story and Saidie I loved.

‘All I want for Halloween’ starts out fun and gossipy in a way about celebrities that had me laughing at the parody, then made it work by introducing a female lead who seemed to know just what she was doing, and yet was funny and gutsy to boot. And I’d thought there and then, that we had a winner.

After all, who can say that they’ve looked with disdain from afar, then came face to face with the very person you’ve been seeing on screen and been judgemental about? As someone watching from the outside, Sadie Liberato’s own reaction to the whole mess of a cheating ex and Motorcycle Madnezz’s end of an era on tv closely mirrored mine…minus the incidental meeting and the sexy times.

But past Gear’s and Sadie’s first (rather acrobatic) public, masked-sex at the party, it was hard to sustain interest in a pairing because I couldn’t tell just what direction their relationship was going to take. Throw in the sudden influx of characters in the midway point and the copious number of sex scenes—I really did get the point early on that sex between them was hot and stratospheric and got bored when that just went on and on—, it started to fall flat at the quarter-mark of the story, when Gear and Sadie find themselves in a semblance of dating but are convinced that they’re nothing more than that while their actions prove otherwise. Adamant that their ‘relationship’ is casual, much of it felt like lust masquerading as love still, even as both eventually do come to the conclusion that they are already there with their emotions.

Overall, I feel as though I should have liked this better than I did, but throughout it all, I simply found myself impatiently wanting to see the story get somewhere and was disappointed when it didn’t quite. Instead it dragged on and I finally started to skim, almost relieved when Gear/Sadie got it into their heads that they were on the same emotional page because that was where the story also ended.
