Where do I begin with this completely addicting romance?
I was hooked right from the start! And I had butterflies in my stomach from start to end.
The chemistry Red and Caleb have is brimming from the start. This romance had this amazing ability to feel like a slow burn romance but give you all the passion you expect in an already established romance. I loved watching these two explore their connection and building a relationship together. Besides physical attraction, they had that deeper bond. It was such a joy to watch them fall for each other.
And I couldn't help but fall for all the characters in this novel. Red/Veronica is such an endearing heroine. You really get a great grasp on who she is and why so I never got annoyed with her actions. I fully understood everything she did because I knew her that well. And Caleb--swoon! He knows all the right things to say but he is also so genuine about it as well. What a fantastic compliment his character is to Veronica.
I also loved all of their friends and I truly hope we learn more about them in the sequel to this novel OR they each get their own story because I would love to read it.
I can't wait to see what happens next! One of the best New Adult romances I've read this year, hands down!

I have only myself to blame — I requested this based on the gorgeous cover and the tagline: They said she was going to be my ruin...then let her ruin me.
I made myself get to 20% before I DNF'd.
If I'd had a sample of this, I wouldn't have bought the book. The book opens from Caleb's point of view. He's bored of just randomly picking up girls and when his friend asks him what's wrong with him, his reply is:
"If you ate the same shit every day, you'd get bored of it too."
Which is then immediately followed by his friend spotting a girl, pointing her out, and Caleb's thought:
"In the middle of the dance floor, a girl was dancing–no, scratch that–gyrating so sensuously that I couldn't help but stare. She moved like...sex comes to mind. Her short, tight dress covered her hourglass body like a second skin, seducing the dozens of eyes turned on her. [...] And it was in make-me-sin red."
Hardly a jump later, she's saving him from another girl coming on to him, says he can buy her a drink to help her forget, and he offers to help her forget somewhere else (wink-wink-nudge-nudge). And instead of taking him up on the offer she calls him an asshole and walks off.
So let's recap: we're in a club, he doesn't just want to randomly pick someone up (except they're at a club), then he spots a really hot girl dancing and wants to pick her up (wait what?), she makes an offer that sounds a lot like she wants to be picked up, he makes said offer, she gets pissed and walks off. With me so far? Okay.
Apparently Caleb isn't really in the mood anymore so he starts heading for his car. Within the span of a few minutes, he sees "Red" (so dubbed from her dress color) leaning against a wall in the parking lot thinking she's had too much to drink, spots a guy leering from a few feet away head for her, and decides to be her knight in shining armor. He tells the guy to leave, takes her to his car and is determined to drive her home when he finds out she's homeless because she's been kicked out of her place. Oooooooookay.
On the way to bringing her to his place she pukes in his brand spankin' new car. Twice. Double ooooooookay.
Let's recap again: renowned playboy saves hot drunk girl, finds out she's homeless, decides to bring her home, she pukes in his pretty car (twice) and doesn't dump her on the side of the road. Either this guy is a saint or something is really fishy.
We're at 3%.
I'd like to say it was only up from here but I'd be lying.
Let me sum up the next 17%:
• Red wakes up, discovers she's in Caleb Lockhart's apartment – the campus man whore – who happens to be loaded
• Caleb offers to let her stay in the spare bedroom until she finds an apartment to which she soundly rejects him and tells him she's not going to be his "prostitute"
• Lots of unnecessary drama/angst blah blah with the differences in the monetary situations until Red eventually agrees to cook for him in exchange for the free room and board until she can get on her feet
• Caleb can't get Red off his mind and acts like an spoiled adolescent, constantly acting out and saying stupid things in an effort to get her attention
• Red's headspace is the usual not-right-for-you-don't-fall-for-him-but-omg-hes-hot-and-maybe-not-bad-but-no-wait-no
Caleb is the campus pretty boy that likes to get laid. Red is the blue collar girl trying to make her way in a tough world.
What should have happened? Red dumped him on his pretty boy ass and Caleb wanted her enough to grow up and get her.
I am just thoroughly disgusted.

I read this on Wattpad and loved it. I was so captivated by the characters. The author did such a great job making them lovable and relate-able. I am so excited for the author to get it published so the world can read it.

Just finished "Chasing Red" and I'm already frantic to find out what happens between Red and Caleb! I don't know which I want to do first--hug or strangle Red! Loved this book so much!

My rating 2.5 stars
Chasing Red was a book I finished in a day! Most of it in fact in just one sitting. I liked Veronica she was a hard working young woman who was just trying to protect herself from the mistakes her parents had made. She was afraid of love and for understandable reasons. She also didn't want charity, but also liked feeling safe which is something we all should be able to feel.
Caleb was a player at first in my opinion, but the more we got to know him and actually see his real personality and not this persona he has created with his friends I actually started to like him.
As for the romance, I'm glad it was mostly taken and slow and that Caleb after awhile realized he needed to chill and just let things happen slowly instead of straight to bed like he's used to. The fact that he was willing to wait and actually noticed things about Veronica was something that I did like about him.
Having said that though, he is also extremely possessive of her to a point that it was actually scary at times. Which is why this is getting such a low rating for me. Without the possessiveness this would have been a three star book for me (means I enjoyed it). Also the unnecessary drama of Beatrice was just annoying, and that one other guy was super creepy too and just no..
However I still kind of want to read the next one to see if Caleb starts chilling on the possessiveness and realizes that it isn't okay to do that.

Couldn't get past first page the profanity very strong.

Chasing Red is the first installment of Veronica (Red) and Caleb's story. The New Adult Romance follows the ebb and flow of the college students' intense attraction for one another. Caleb is the campus playboy and Veronica is seriously down on her luck. After rescuing her from a night of bad, drunken decisions, Caleb offers Veronica a place to stay until she gets back on her feet. The months of cohabitation that follow find their attraction and obsession with each other growing, however, Veronica can't bring herself to trust Caleb enough to truly tie herself to him.
While I did not enjoy this book, I was hoping the Hero and heroine could work out their differences and have a happy ending. Unfortunately, this book ends in a cliff hanger.
Firstly, the circumstances that bring the characters together seemed too contrived to be believable. Things felt awkward and unnatural through the beginning of the book. Once both characters were settled and interacting as part of each others' space, their actions and thoughts seemed slightly more organic and less forced.
That said, Caleb becomes pretty obsessed with Veronica. It was reminiscent of Christian Grey, minus all of the kink. That aspect generated a lot of angst which works in some books, however, readers are no longer as tolerant of anything that they deem to be an "unhealthy" relationship between young people and the circumstances in this book are questionable. Veronica is placed in a position that makes her livelihood dependent upon Caleb's generosity and then Caleb expresses his obsessive need for Veronica, in an 'I can't live without you' sort of way. The 'feels' are very intense and I was affected, but as an older reader, I find their story very concerning.
Unfortunately, I was not as attracted to this story as those who followed its progression on Wattpad.

This book was not for me. I found it too dramatic for my taste. However, I can see how people would like it. I can see some of my friends enjoying this. After all, it is quite popular on wattpad.

Well, well, well! This book was a crazy whirlwind and I loved every moment of it! CHASING RED is described as addictive and that's so incredibly fitting—I couldn't put it down!!
I know not everyone enjoys romances with dual POVs, but I've always been loved them. I love getting to see both sides of the romance and I love knowing what's going on in both characters' heads. In this case, I thought that the dual POV worked perfectly! I loved seeing what Caleb was thinking and I loved getting to see Veronica/Red's thoughts, too! I loved both characters so much, and Caleb is definitely on my ever-growing list of book boyfriends. ;)
As I said, I loved getting to see Caleb's POV, too. He's a bit of an open book so he wasn't as hard to read as Red was, but I loved seeing him work through his feelings for her. I pretty much loved everything about Caleb though, he was charismatic, generous, and funny and goofy--he was constantly making me smile. He wasn't experienced when it came to relationships, but he was honest and so adorable when he was trying to show Red how much he cared...seriously my feelings were constantly on high alert and I said "Awww Caleb" more times than I can count. :p
Now that I've gushed about Caleb, I have to let you know that I loved Red, too. I don't want to get into too much detail about her though because I'm trying to avoid any spoilers, but she does have trust issues and I admired her for how she tried to move away from her past. I still feel like she's a bit of a mystery, but I loved her sense of humour and I loved how she interacted with Caleb and her friends. I loved her friends Kara and Beth and Caleb's best friend, Cameron, too. I'm most looking forward to seeing more of Red and Caleb in the sequel, but I'm thrilled to get more of their friends, too.
So I've gushed about the characters, but now, you're wondering about the story right? The story was definitely dramatic, which I'm not always a fan of, but I liked it here. It kept me on my toes and I couldn't stop reading because I NEEDED to know what would happen next. It seems to be a bit of a trend that romances that are broken up into duets or series like this end on crazy cliffhangers and this one wasn't an exception to that. The ending hit me right in the feels. It left me desperate for the sequel and now I'm just going to be sitting her waiting for ALWAYS RED because I need to know what happens next for Caleb and Red...I need to know you guys!
If you can't tell...I loved CHASING RED! It wasn't perfect (what book is really?), but it was exactly what I wanted in a slow-burning new adult romance! It was intense, full of drama, and it gave me so many feelings. It made me gush and grin when it was sweet and it tore at my heartstrings when the drama was in full-swing! I loved every single moment of this book and if you love slow-burn, sweet yet sexy romances full of drama, I think you'll love this one too! ;)

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Loved the interaction and chemistry between Caleb and Red, although there were times that Red came across whiny. But I guess that's to be expected, the majority of human society has whined or griped about something at some point in their lives. The secondary characters each brought something to the story, although there's one that seems to be nothing more than a jealous d-bag and another whose mental faculties might be a tad bit skewed.

When I read the premise of this story I really wanted to love it, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I enjoy reading romance novels with a fantastic plot and a dash of love. I don't like books that are centered around/heavy on sex scenes. I like a plot to flow seamlessly and if there is a sex scene it should add to the plot. However, I would classify Chasing Red as erotica and the plot felt a little weak and full of holes. There were so many sex scenes... I actually found myself just skipping over them because they didn't add to the story. I could tell this book was written on Wattpad just based on the unnecessary drama. I couldn't relate to the characters whatsoever, and I actually contemplated putting the story down a few times.
That being said, I will say that this book had great writing and a few scenes that I really enjoyed. Even though this book wasn't particularly my favorite... I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy it. If you are a fan of erotica then you will probably love this story. I look forward to giving this author's work another try again in the future.

This is one of those love it or hate it books. I'm in the don't love camp. This book has it all: insta-love, poor and naive virgin, rich and cocky clueless guy, and lots and lots of angst. I don't mind any of those per se, but all together, sprinkle clichés here and there, and it was all a bit much for me.

I love this book. It feels real. The characters are believable. The emotions are in reach. The only downside was the emotionally wrenching ending being a total cliffhanger--as in, what do you MEAN I can't read the next line? Is that it? Is that all I get for now....?

Finally! I have read this amazing different romance on Wattpad. I have read it a lot of times. And now it is going to be published. I loved that.
The story line is so unique and well written that it caught me from page one. Red and Caleb are just the couple that have all the problems and they have to deal with a lot. But I always cheered for them. They have an amazing chemistry among them that many only dream of. You just fall in love with these two main characters. They are so well described that they feel alive. Red annoys me sometimes but that is a part of her character in the story. I just want to shake her awake and let go of her thoughts.
The story could take place in real life. I was so caught in the book, that I just had to keep on reading.
The book has it all: drama, action, romance, humor, emotions, love, steamy scenes, passion, chemistry and a lot more.
But I would have wished there were not all the unanswered questions in the end. I know there is a second book coming now. The book is written in short chapters and is not that long either but still it is filled to the brim with action, love and drama.
I can only recommend this book to everyone.
*I received a arc copy through Netgalley*

Highly addictive story line, that had me burning right through the pages, I completely devoured it in one sitting! It was full of angst, drama, hope, and some serious sexy times that will have you blushing! Overall I'd say it was a great first read, it had plausible plot, likable characters, a little drama filled backstory and it was all blended together nicely. This was a first read for me, and I think it's safe to say I'll be back for more. Definitely a can't miss read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

One man's journey to be with the one woman he can't live without. Can the wild college boy be with just one woman?
Readers will be on pins and needles as they search for the answer...will they get together?

Veronica "Red" is used to toughing things out on her home. Being homeless is something she will just have to cope with. Tonight, Red is pushing all her worries aside and having some fun. The one thing she wasn't expecting was for a man like Caleb to waltz into her life.
Caleb knows Red is the one for him the minute his eyes land on her. There is just something so captivating about her. Only problem is, Red doesn't seem as interested in him. From that moment on, Caleb lives only to show Red that he is just the guy she needs in her life, but Red is not about to make things easy.
I was hooked from page one of CHASING RED! The attraction between Caleb and Veronica (Red) is instant and explosive. Red fights Caleb at every turn. She is unsure of herself and afraid to be close to someone, especially a man. Caleb is willing to give Red all the time in the world, which is wonderful to see in this day and time. I just love Caleb... he's strong, playful, confidant and sexy. He never fails to make Red laugh with his brash behavior and witty comments. He is just the type of guy Red can use in her life. I cannot wait to see where book two, ALWAYS RED, takes these two.

I have to say, this book was a great surprise!! From the synopsis, I knew Chasing Red was a Wattpad hit --and now I know why!!! Right off the bat, I liked Isabelle Ronin's writing style and knew from 10% into the novel that I was going to enjoy it. Caleb and Veronica (Red) were an unlikely couple from opposite ends of the economic spectrum, but as fate would have it, they were completely meant for each other. When Veronica finds herself in financial dire straits, Caleb (who is basically a stranger), makes her an offer she can't refuse. From that point the chemistry between the two was electric and I thought Isabelle Ronin did a great job of organically developing their friendship/relationship. Chasing Red was well paced and being that it's the first in a two book series, I figured there would be a cliffhanger. The good news is we will be getting the rest of Veronica and Caleb story in Always Red (due out 11/7/17). I NEED THAT BOOK NOW!! Chasing Red is a 4 star book that you will not want to miss!!
