This story takes place in New York at a law firm where Jane Larson is asked to take on a case for child support and a divorce. She soon discovers that something is not a normal about this case and finds herself drawn into a dangerous situation involving a very shady deadbeat dad, and someone who will stop at nothing, even murder, to find an incriminating file. Jane wonders who she can really trust as the people involved all seem to be hiding something, and she must find out what before she becomes the next victim. The story is fast paced and each character falls under suspicion. Who can she trust when she seems to be looking over her shoulder as each new piece of information is found.
