Jane is a lawyer representing an author Maggie who wrote a successful book that is now being copied in real life. This is the second book I have read by this author and I am not a fan. This story has way too many characters to keep track of and many are not likeable. There are graphic descriptions of rape and violence against men and women. The story had quite a few holes and some story lines were not resolved. I read Mind Me Milady first which is a later book and I was dismayed to read that a major plot point in that book was rewritten. Jane has very questionable taste in men and does not seem to learn from her mistakes. The mystery was no mystery and the ending did not hold any surprises.

Very fast paced and very intriguing. I enjoyed how it kept me hooked and it was an original story. Nowadays so many books read the same. Highly recommend

A very powerful book, one I highly recommend. A unique look at different views on feminism and battered women, and just what would happen if women suddenly fought back meeting violence with violence after all these years. Who is Diana? Perhaps in one sense, she is a piece of all of us, unspoiled by hands of another.
