This book was entertaining for me to read at the time I requested it but at its core it is your typical player/single mother romance/erotic novel which are a dime a dozen today but it has some merit.

Marcus and Joanne are good in this contemporary romance that has an interesting spin on the meet cute -- Marcus' company is responsible for Joanne's lawn service. I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters and watching them interact and it was fun to see the changes along the way. If you are looking for a quick, fun romance, you won't go wrong with this one. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book provided by NetGalley.

This is an interesting story about a wealthy man and business owner Marcus Holt who one day is working at a home for one of his employees. When he is introduced to the woman’s children. The woman Joanne Michaels, she is working and trying to make the best of things after losing her husband two years ago. Trying to make her paycheck last week to week, Marcus is attracted to this blond beauty and how in just a brief meeting she has a positive attitude. Not knowing that he is actually the owner of the business she offers him a beer and lets him know that she will no longer be needing there services. He of course takes care of the bill and decides to see what else he can do for her and the two children. He wants to date her and she is wanting to take everything slow because she does not understand why a man like him would want to be with a women with two children, especially with him with no children and speaking like he does not want any. What he wants is first to be with her in the bed and when he is able to do that she is open to a whole new world. She slowly allows him in theirs life’s little by little. The one thing that is a problem for him is that every time that there is a problem he thinks it can be fixed with either money, or sex. She shows him that those are not the answers as they are getting closer and he is working at getting closer to both of the children she breaks up with him after a dinner date with some of his friends. This takes him a while to figure out but will he finally grow up and put everything together? Read this fun but at times serious story that has some very hot sex scenes. Overall a very good book.

Marcus Holt owns Australia’s largest home maintenance franchise. When someone in his PR department says it would be a good idea for him to connect with his clients, he sets out to mow lawns. He becomes infatuated by Joanne “Honey” Michaels when he is working in her yard. He doesn’t know her name at first and calls her Honey because of her hair color. But Honey is not like the other women he has been with. For starters, Honey is a widow raising her two children on her own. She is also struggling to make ends meet. Marc decides he wants Honey and he will do anything to have her. But he didn’t plan on falling in love with her.

I enjoyed this book. Marc’s infatuation with Honey seemed a bit over the top at first, but it soon turned fun. Who wouldn’t want a man who showered them with gifts, paid their bills and filled their nights with intimate moments too hot for me to mention here? It was an interesting book. I liked the characters and how the author wrote their stories. They seemed real; flawed but willing to go the extra mile to get what they wanted.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Loved Marcus, he was only use to passion until he met Jo, single mom down on her luck. Marcus does not only want Jo but wants to help her with her children and make life better in general. Marcus is use to the perfect woman and Jo is far from it.

Great sexual chemistry between these two. Hot bedroom scenes!! Loved how Marcus would not give up on this family!

Honey is a sizzling good story. Overall good writing.

I tried to get into the story, I really did. The characters were likable enough. The writing was decent, I just couldn't get into it. The story wasn't too original but it wasn't bad. It was just a standard rich guy finds damsel in distress and saves her.

In this version of the tried and true Hero that saves Heroine Marcus Holt owns Marc's Home Maintenance. Normally, Marcus doesn't bother doing any of the manual work, but due to a new ad campaign he's out in the fields working. On one such assignment he meets single mom, Joanne Michaels. There's an instant connection.

My biggest complaint in this book is that it was very predictable and all happened so fast. While normally endless drama in books can get monotonous, this story was too perfect. Marc rushed in and saved Jo at every turn. All I could imagine is the home maintenance business sure is booming because Marc had endless money to pay off mortgages, bills, and buy enough clothes for Jo and her children, Darcy and Georgia.

It wasn't a bad book at all but it certainly wasn't original and just fell flat for me.

I'm an Aussie, so I could really appreciate this story. I really enjoyed it. It's something different and refreshing.

Honey is an odd read. I was uncomfortable reading it. At first I thought it was because a lot of the wording was Australian and I didn't understand some of it, but I've read books before that were set in Australia and I never had a problem reading, understanding or liking them. I guess the main reason I didn't like Honey is that I never really connected with any of the characters. The story centers around Jo (Honey), a 35 year old widow with two young kids who meets Marcus, a rich businessman who owns a successful landscape maintenance company. He's instantly attracted to her and they begin a relationship.

He's controlling and Jo lets him control her to a certain extent. She pushes back some of the time, but most of the time she just goes along with it. The sex scenes were kind of uncomfortable for me to read. I'm not sure why, maybe they were just a little too clinical for my taste. I never really felt their connection was that strong or particularly sexy. Marcus came across at first as sexily dominant, but in the end he was just controlling rather than dominant. Not my thing at all.

I guess I'll just cap off this review by saying that while Honey isn't my cup of tea, it may be someone else's.

Yuk....I have nothing nice to say, so I won't say anything. I thought it would be good, it wasn't. Yuk.

Our introduction to the two mains was very unexpected and a nice change of pace. The H comes to mow her yard as part of a subscription service, only he isn't he regular guy. He actually owns the company and becomes very intrigued by her on sight. She is a struggling single mother faced with too many bills and even more chores. She has two children with no father in sight.
We soon make discoveries about both and come to the realization that money doesn't buy happiness no matter we might think. The author does a great job weaving a beautiful tapestry of the history of the main characters. We feel the same pain, suspicion and excitement as the characters.
The sex happened very quickly and felt a bit slapdash as a result. However, as the story progresses and we get to know them both better it begins to feel more emotional and fulfilling. He definitely dominates the bedroom but she doesn't have any issues with it.
I had slight issues that led to the four stars and not five. One: She lets him throw money around when it suits her. When it doesn't, she gets very upset and has what amounts to a tantrum. She never really had a conversation with him about it until much further in the book. Two: The speed in which this strong, independent woman lets him make all the decisions. Literally all of them. Dinner for her and her kids, her wardrobe, etc. It was disconcerting. She even moves in with him in record time. It was very rushed considering that she had two kids that she needed to take into consideration.
Otherwise, the author does a great job, even accurately portraying the daily struggle of arthritis and gluten intolerance. I would happily encourage friends and family to read Honey.

It's pains me to rate a book this low but honestly I struggled so hard to finish this book. If it wasn't for the fact I'm reviewing it this book would have been a DNF by 40%.

On reading the blurb I was so interested by the book and what it was about. Its made pretty clear in there that Marc is a dominant at least in the bedroom and is looking for a submissive type. So I thought ohh maybe some light BDSM?.. I thought maybe this is about how Marcus's wants and needs change as he spends time with Joanne. I thought the story was very original and the pot was going the be great.

I though a lot of things but I was wrong.

Yes Marcus likes control but it's not sexy it's annoying. Personally he treated Joanne like a child half the time and a sex doll the rest. He was just way to involved way to quick in the most ridicules way. I found him creepy,controlling and just downright unlikeable and what's worse is I can't pinpoint one thing because everything about him made me cringe.

Joanne pissed me off just as much because I wanted to like her. I really enjoyed the hard working independent nature of her character but found her weak and mousy when it came to Marcus. She was feisty for 0.5 seconds of the story then all that disappeared. I found myself frustrated by her lack of speaking up and her acceptance of just being told what when and how.

The sex for me was just uncomfortable to read. The details are strangely written with a terrible use of terminology. I'd definitely say the author tried way to hard to make it sexy and it just came out like a bad porno.

I don't like writting bad reviews but I'm also not hard to please when it comes to books so for me to dislike it has shocked me. I didn't want to not like this book in fact I thought I'd love it going off the blurb but I'm sorry to say this book just isn't for me.
If something from this author come out again I'll give it a try, I'm not put off by this, it's just not a book I'll read again.
