Lily, Jane, and Henry had grown up together. As Lily and Henry got older, they developed feelings for each other and Jane "married" them as teenagers in an impromptu ceremony. Unfortunately, not long after that, Henry withdraws from Lily's life and becomes a virtual stranger and someone unlike the boy she fell in love with.
Seven years, Lily is being courted by a handsome gentleman; unfortunately, he drinks and gambles. Her heart isn't interested as she still pines for Henry. Henry, unfortunately, has brought his rumored paramour to a house party thrown by his sister, Jane, which breaks Lily's heart even more. She wants to leave, but has promised Jane that she would help her pursue Henry's friend, Mr Waverley.
What happens when you have two people determined to stay apart, a sleepy chaperone, a matchmaker, and a house full of guests? You'll have to read the story to find out.
As this was a novella, the story isn't as fully developed as a full length novel would be. I wish that the author had included a prologue of growing up together and the "wedding ceremony" before they grew apart. This was definitely a clean read.
This book was a sweet read, I enjoyed reading it and will probably read it again even though it is not one of those books that kept me hooked ot my reader. I read it and I didn't put it aside but there was something about the characters that made me want for more. More time with them, more about them.
The hero and the heroine both remember very well that there was "something" when they were younger, one of them doesn't know what happened to tear them apart. When those two meet again at a house party, will those remnant sparks, that seems to light up every time they meet, be enough for them to find their way back to each other?
A simple but heart-warming story with very likeable characters - I liked it.
Mine: Forever and Always by Tammy L. Bailey is a short light hearted historical romance that was a fun and delightful read. My first time reading this author.
Quick, but very thought-out with fun, witty characters and an interesting plot. A clean read with charcaters who will charm the reader and steal their hearts.
At times a bit teenager type story, but an enjoy just the same. I would read more from Ms. Bailey in the future.

Just read it if you are into romance. This is a lovely story about the love of two people which has to pass the test of time and society. Life forced them to go on their separate ways regardless of what their harts wanted. And, now, they meet each other again. There is angst and there is tension. Question is: Does the love between them still exists? Or is it just a beautiful memory of the past?
What can I say? The feelings... are so overwhelming. I do not have enough words to praise this novella. Despite it's length, we get a lot of content about the main characters and the other players in the story. It is a torturous, genuine love. Your heart will melt, ache, get butterflies, mushy, and - finally - teary. I do not want to say too much about the plot cause... spoilers. Obviously! The author has a beautiful writing because everything floated nicely. No boring part. No excessive descriptions. Right words were used to ensure the reader that there are a solid background to the narrative and well rounded characters which are not just flat instruments of yielding a romance. I wished this was a full novel because there is so much room for expanding and exploring; although, I am afraid it might cut the beauty of the novella in some parts.
Sometimes the short length might give a writing work a feel of unresolved or anticlimactic endings. Like, there has to be more to it than what's already published. Thus, I understand why some readers may give this one a lower rating. But for me, a strong impression on my mood while reading it's enough sometimes. Not every good piece has to be lengthy. The information is there only not in so many words as you may like it to be.
Now, I am waiting patiently for the next story in the series. The author promised a new story in the future regarding other characters who were introduced in the book. She said that time is of the essence for her inspiration to come and the final product be good.
This was definitely my cup of tea. And, it might be yours too. Do not get mislead by the cover.
Ah... Just read it!
This is my sole opinion. ^_^
I would like to say thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A lovely read for me. Really enjoyed the story line that involved some misunderstandings, lovely conversations and unrequited love.
I received an ARC of this book, via Net Galley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.
A great story to read in one sitting to get your Regency Romance dose in. It's a nice beezy read without major issues but with a lot of misunderstandings. Worth the read.
This light story made me laugh at times. If you don't care about the characters behaving like teens sometimes, you'll enjoy this book.
I found the historical romance to be short but good. Solid writing.
Jane Dalton likes parlour games & always has done six years earlier when Jane & her friend Lily Scott were just shy of fifteen years old, she held a fake and impromptu wedding ceremony, between Lily her brother, Henry Dalton. It seemed harmless enough until he leaned in and whispered to her his true feelings, amorous words she has been unable to forget: Now you're mine, forever and always.
Unfortunately, growing up pulls them apart and transforms Henry into a pompous scoundrel who barely seems to remember Lily’s name. They meet again at a house party hosted by Jane where notes fall into the wrong hands.
A quick, easy, clean & enjoyable read, that was a nice way to pass a rainy afternoon. The characters are well developed & likeable. Henry & Lily have both formed differing opinions of each other but when they are paired with other party members jealousy rears it’s head. There are also misunderstandings to be rectified. The pace of the book is good. The lively conversations keep you smiling. I look forward to reading more from the author
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
The story “Mine: Forever and Always” by Tammy L. Bailey caught my attention when Henry Dalton, whispers these words to Lily Scott, his sister’s best friend. She remembers these words several years later when a house party forces the two together again. However, Henry appears to forgotten her name, and Lily is determined to move on from her feelings for Henry. Throw into the mix, Henry’s sister, Jane, who appears to be trying to garner the affection of another, but is really playing matchmaker.
The main characters are well developed which is an accomplishment given that this is a novella. Henry’s reasons for keeping Lily at a distance, is quickly explained and Lily’s feeling are not easily dismissed. I particularly enjoyed the character of Jane, who manages to innocently weave events to her liking. I hope that she appears in a future novel by Ms Bailey. This novel had me smiling the whole way through with the banter between all the characters. The only disappointing aspect to this book was that it ended too soon. Definitely, a must read!

This novella was a fun and juicy drama to read. I enjoyed the overall story and the characters' struggles or manipulations in Jane's case. I am a big fan of childhood sweethearts meeting again after a long separation to find that they still share feelings for one another. Overall, this story was entertaining, romantic and sweet but not something I will remember and think back on months from now.

Lily is twenty-one years old and about to become engaged to the handsome Mr Gibbons.
Sounds like a dream come true?
While John Gibbons may be handsome he has a quick temper and likes to drink. A lot.
Plus Lily has been in love with her best friends brother Henry for as long as she can remember. Her life has been full of dreams of them together or at least it used to be before Henry changed to the point where he couldn't even remember her name and now she's set to marry someone she doesn't love.
Henry did have feelings for Lily when they were younger and imagined their life together but he's an only son and heir and as such he needs to marry well and that unfortunately didn't include Lily.
But Lily's best friend and Henry's sister Jane is a born matchmaker and she has something up her sleeve.
This is a cute little romance which revolves around a house party, the characters are all nice enough and it's a quick easy read.
There's a couple of embarrassing moments, some funny ones and yes I even cried a little at one point.
This is a short sweet little historical romance.
