This is actually a good story, of Lady Katherine, and Brandon Deverill. However, there is too much gratuitous sex, a great story doesn't need this. It's like the writer has to fill in pages, and she can't think of enough good dialogue, truly sad. Too much sex for me! TMSFM! I loved the couple, she had a great story, but filling pages with sexual content means, you have run out of ideas!

A good story set in 1817 England and France. A fun filled adventure as Kate and Deverill dance the dance around loving and being loved. A good read.
Nicole Jordan's latest volume in the 'Legendary Lovers' series was wonderful. The chemistry between the hero and the heroine was palpable. I enjoyed the depth and development of the characters as well, and it was great to see some of the characters from previous novels in the series. I think that Jordan tied up the series nicely. There are no gaping plot holes, but there are a few loose ends that I bet she'll pick up in future works. I'm looking forward to them!
This book was an ok read. It was not a book that I wanted to keep reading. It was the type that I could put down, save for later or just skip pages. It had a decent story line in the beginning and then it just turned to sex. I liked the plot in the beginning to the middle and then the ending was good but there were many pages that I felt did not need to be included because it did not do much for the book, it was just filler.
I really don't think Nicole has written a book I haven't liked. This was great beginning to end. I finished it in one and a half days!
I have eagerly awaited this book in the series of “Legendary Lovers” and it has seemed too long between stories. I have enjoyed everyone and “My Fair Lover” was no different. The ability to match friends and family to their soul mate has been orchestrated by Lady Katherine Wilde, so it appears fitting that this pairing ends with her. Katherine has always loved Brandon Deverill (Baron Valmere) but was spurned by him many years ago before he went to war.
Brandon returns to make Katherine his wife but contrives to do this by asking her to find him a match. Having returned from America and inheriting a title, he seeks out Katherine’s advice. In a story similar to that of Pygmalion, Katherine believes that she can mould Brandon into a gentleman suited to English society, in return for his assistance in finding the remains of her parents, who died when their ship sunk.
The chemistry between the pair is evident from page one. I particularly enjoyed the banter between the pair. Ms Jordan manages to convey the romantic undertones of the novel whilst developing a believable friendship between the two. I also enjoyed Katherine’s family members who still maintain their unique personalities, many stories on.

Matchmaker, Lady Katherine Wilde has matched up her siblings and cousins, with whom she grew up, after both set of parents drowned at sea. Now it is her turn. She thought she was in love with Brandon Deverill, but he spurned her when she was 17, not out of lack of attraction, but because he was off to war. Six years later, he is back and only wants her as his wife, but she still hurts from his earlier rejection, so with the help of relatives and friends, he convinces her to find him the perfect wife, all the while learning what he needs to woo her. Since this is the Wildes, adventure ensues. Another delightful story about the Wilde family. If you read the previous stories, you will definitely want to read this one. but it still could be read as a stand alone.
A steamy love story with adventures. A girls hope to marry and put her family to rest. A mans desires and past help change who he is and helps his "love." It's a good love story but a little on the long side for the content- in my opinion.
A second chance romance with a strong heroine and a hunky hero. I really enjoyed their banter and the history between them. Being turned down by Brandan had really hurt Katherine but she was courageous enough to give them another chance.

After reading the first paragraph, I knew I was hooked. Ms. Jordan is a talented writer with an ability to create unique storylines. I enjoyed My Fair Lover mainly because of the heroine's strength of character. Lady Katharine Wilde was confident in her abilities and seemed satisfied with who she is. Brandon Deverill, our hero, also had a fully developed personality while remaining unpretentious. While some of the back and forth thought process of both hero and heroine became a bit repetitive and confusing, overall I enjoyed their adventure towards a happily ever after. My Fair Lover is book five in the Legendary Lovers series. However, it is not necessary to read the first four to enjoy this tale.
I'm very sorry that I couldn't get into this book, as I'm a longtime fan of NJ's. It just felt too formulaic and 'seen it, read it, been there, before' to me. If she continued her Western series, that I'd snap up. This one feels like it's been dragged out far too long. Thanks, and sorry.
Fans of historical romance will enjoy this book, which can be read as a stand alone or continuing the series. Other characters mentioned are from previous books, but that just helps build the story with some background. The banter between the 2 keep things going and add a nice element to the story.
Oh my, this book was gloriously scandalous and sexy!
The character dynamic between Katherine and Brandon was so great, and the sexual tension between them was steamy. Throw in some adventure, mystery and witty banter, and I'm in love. Such a great, entertaining read!
My Fair Lover is a solid historical romance. It has a second chance feel and a good dose of passion to go along with the intrigue and evolving romance. If you like historical romances with a strong heroine who is neither silly or simpering and a hero who is strong and a bit malleable but not arrogant, this is a perfect choice.

My Fair Lover by Nicole Jordan is a riveting historical romance. Ms Jordan has delivered a book that is well-written and loaded it with phenomenal characters. I totally adore the characters in this book. Kate and Brandon's story is packed with drama, humor, action and sizzling sexy bits. This story grabbed me at the first paragraph and kept me glued to my kindle until the last word. I loved reading My Fair Lover and look forward to reading more from Nicole Jordan in the future. My Fair Lover is book 5 of the Legendary Lovers Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I received from NetGalley.
This is book #5 in Ms. Jordan's Legendary Lovers series. Despite some references to characters and events from the previous books, it can be read as a stand-alone one.
In this story, finally Katherine Wilde, who played matchmaker to her other "Wilde cousins" in the previous books, gets to meet (or meet again!) her own destiny - Brandon Deverill, the half-American she needs to turn into an English gentleman (this plot is slightly based on Pygmalion, as all the other books in the series, which are based on famous tales). Actually, seven years ago, Deverill had turned Kate down and left for the war, breaking Kate's heart. And now Kate has to help Deverill find a bride!
I think the first half of the book is better, with a nice banter between the two main characters. The second half drags a little and is quite superficial, IMHO, since it seems more an excuse to allow the characters more time away from society (and alone...).
Anyway, in spite of some flaws, I enjoy reading this book and I'm planning to start reading this series.

Rated 3.5!
Lady Katherine Wilde long ago fell in love with Brandon Deverill. She even went so far as to throw herself at him, but when that didn't work, Katherine decided to change her ways. Since then she has become well-known for her calm, collected manner among society. When Brandon reenters her life asking for help, try as she may, Katherine cannot resist. With her skills, Katherine will make Brandon a proper Englishman and find him a well-suited bride.
Brandon has come back to England to finally claim the woman he has wanted for what seems like a lifetime. Long ago, Brandon had to turn down Katherine's advances out of chivalry and duty,. Now he is ready to settle down and begin a new life with Katherine. Brandon just has to convince Katherine that he is still the man she wants.
I have yet to come across a novel by author Nicole Jordan that I have not enjoyed. Her talent for making her characters and stories come to life is awe-inspiring. The latest addition in her LEGENDARY LOVERS series is such fun. MY FAIR LOVER is Katherine and Brandon's story. I am such a sucker for stories that center around a woman putting herself out there, being turned down, and later getting a second chance with that same man. Never fails to tug at my heart strings. Brandon and Katherine are just right for each other and I could not have asked for a better ending to MY FAIR LOVER. I just wish these two hadn't been so stubborn in the beginning.
This was a good story, though if you're a stickler for authenticity in your regency romance, you may be disappointed. The h has known that H for years, and even attempted to seduce him several years earlier without success. He has returned to seek a bride after the war of 1812,during which he served America, and later serving the British home office, go figure. She is now to assist him in his bride search, though he really only wants to marry her. They reach a bargain, involving a pretend (maybe) betrothal and a trip to France. Romance does ensue, and ensue and ensue. Though the story suspends all societal rules, it was entertaining and has a few fun twists.

I was intrigued by this book because it was billed as a "historical fiction" play on "My Fair Lady" which is one of my favorite musicals but other than some minor plot elements this book is it's own. I enjoyed the story overall and the dialogue in the book was a step up from the average romance novel. This book is #5 in a series and while you don't necessarily have to have read books 1-4 is might help because there are a lot of secondary characters mentioned and keeping track of who was who was a bit much. Also, this book is a little heavy on the sex. Don't get me wrong, a love scene here or there is fine and they don't call these "bodice rippers" for nothing but good gracious these characters had sex practically every other chapter. It kind of took over the book a little bit and the scenes became very boring. I actually skipped most of them at the end of the book because they were just uninteresting.
Overall, good book and I'd probably read the other books because who doesn't love a good romance novel here or there but be warned that you'll probably be blushing a lot if you read this in a public place.
I don't really know what to write about this one. I really like the series, and the books so far had been pretty good, but this just didn't do it for me. I think I expected more of the legendary lover for Kate, since she's the one who started this whole thing, but didn't seem to get to me. Said that, it wasn't all bad, but still left me unsatisfied in the end.
