This was a perfectly cute little romance. It had all the expected cliches, it was sexy and cheesy, with all the necessary swoons and angst. It wasn't anything that will stand out as a favorite, but it was easy to read in one sitting, and never left me wanting more, or wanting to put it down.

A cute line up of characters, and a man who was great with the kid. Hello screaming ovaries, I hear you. A few plot areas seemed unnecessary, but didn't really take much away from the overall readability. Just plain cute. Definitely worth the read.

This was a good story. I liked the characters but too much angst. It was too repetitive.

A good story that opens up with a single mom throwing a birthday party for her eight year old son and having a not so nice talk with her ex who really is just bully her. In walks a man dressed in the super hero outfit that she hired, but she knows for sure that the man in tights is not the man she hired, though she would like to meet him(not really). The ex continues to talk unpleasantly Anna Bishop the single mom when super hero punches him in the nose. Now her best friend walks in and says Clark what did you do. Clark is Clark Wainwright, and the brother of Ann’s best friend who has been trying for a few years to set them up. Now she has not only set them up but has set in motion a serial fixer on Anna’s door step. Clark has always tried to fix things and after the party when he realizes what he has put in motion with a possible custody battle between her and her ex, he does what any normal guy would do and that is go talk to the judge. He finds out that he is leaning towards giving custody to the father unless maybe Clark and Anna get married. I won’t go into why the judge would think that they are dating. Clark comes up with a plan that they should get married and both Anna and her son Louie can live with him at his cabin and then once everything settles down they can get a divorce. Of course there is no plan except for the wedding. Of course there is no way they could fall for each other, or that Clark and Louie would one day go out and come back with a dog because every boy needs a dog. I really liked this book and I liked the different other stories going on in the book especially the one about Clark’s best friend Jake. All of the characters are good and overall this is a very good book.

I didn't finish this book because it was crass and vulgar. The picture on the front of the book seemed to indicate that it would be a sweet love story. It started off well. Clark, the brother of Anna's best friend, Taylor, was drafted into dressing up as a super hero for Anna's son, Louie's 7th birthday party. It wasn't normally Clark's thing but he wanted to help. When he arrived at the party, he came on the scene of Anna's ex-husband, George, being physically abusive with Anna. Clark punched George in the face and broke his nose. Because of this incident, George sued Anna for primary custody of their son, Louie.

Clark was a hero and wanted to help Anna not lose custody of her son. The story seemed to be a sweet story. Unfortunately, the crass language ruined the story for me.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was right up my alley....a fake to real romance :) We have Anna, who has a borderline abusive ex husband that is threatening to take her to court to gain custody of their son, and Clark, Anna's best friend's brother who can't resist helping people because he's a "fixer". After an altercation with the ex, Clark realizes the only way for Anna to keep her son is for her to be married, so he steps up and offers to marry her. It's all good and supposed to be merely a business deal, but the three of them just mesh so well! And let's not forget that the chemistry between Anna and Clark is off the charts!

I loved the scenes with Anna, Clark and Louie! I wish Anna and Clark would have attempted to tell each other earlier that they were developing feelings for one another and didn't want their marriage to end. Both of them had issues that kept them from wanting to make the marriage permanent, but they were too stubborn to admit they were wrong about having the marriage end.

Anna Bishop is trying to be a strong single parent in the face of hard times. Her ex, George, is a prince around town with everyone in his back pocket, including the judge who could take her son Louie away. When a scuffle between George and her best friend Taylor's brother, Clark, ensues, Anna's worst nightmare threatens to become reality, In an effort to right the wrong committed by Clark, he formulates a plan that involved marriage of convenience - one that Anna and Clark second guessing their arrangement.

The story of Anna Bishop and Clark Wainwright is a sweet romance that builds up over time. What is just supposed to be a remedy to a problem develops strings that neither wanted. Can a woman who wants nothing more than to be independent and show the world she can survive without a man and a man who meddles make a life together?

The Favor is an engaging romance that is a bit spicy at times. The marriage of convenience between Anna and Clark slow burns into passion beyond either's wildest dreams. The couple is not willing to move beyond the fact that the marriage is temporary even though the chemistry is off the charts.

Anna and Clark are written realistically with clear dialogue. Clark's interactions with both Anna and her son Louie are tender and loving. The world Blaire Edens created is well developed as are the characters. The reader will get to know Anna and Clark and understand what events in the past led them to where they are in the present day. I will definitely keep Ms. Edens on my radar as a must-read author.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of The Favor.

The first thing you should probably know is that I think I'm in a book slump. I am having trouble connecting to stories and characters and this was no exception. I felt like the pacing in this book was extremely fast, like I was shoved into the middle of a storyline and it all felt a little overly dramatic and...cliched. I mean, I loved the idea of the superhero swooping in to save the day, but...it didn't end there. And I felt like the "villain" was a caricature of a villain, with no redeeming qualities. It was just a bit over-the-top for me and, like I said, I wasn't able to connect to it. After giving it a couple of tries, I have chosen not to finish.

I was intrigued by the description of The Favor by Blaire Edens; enough to want to read about this friend’s brother who is willing to dress up as a superhero for a child’s birthday party. The story is so much more than that which is only the beginning. Clark is a good man with a hero complex. Anna is a mother in trouble.

Do fake marriages happen in real life like they do in books? I guess so but I have never heard of one. I’m just not sure that this would work. Clark works so hard to made the world right for those he knows. He certainly is likable. Anna follows Clark suggestion, hoping it will help her keep her son. No doubt her ex-husband comes across as the villain.

The story is not too long but has a happy ending. It is a stand-alone book but there is another couple of interest. I would have liked to see the book expanded with more complexity revealed about Anna and Clark. However, it would be a great afternoon by the pool read; easy to follow, not too deep but entertaining.

Love Clark. Love his kindness, loyalty, patience and sense of honor. I love how he tries to write his wrongs and sometimes goes to far. He does get a realization of this and works hard to let of of his fixing tendencies. My favorite is how he bonds to Anna’s son and treats with with such love and patience. He has him become a part of his world and no matter what wishes to keep this going.

anna is kind and hardworking but stubborn as well. Her pride almost costs her a chance at love and man who is kind, patient and supportive. when clark gets her in a bind he extends out a branch that is huge and Anna reluctantly grabs onto it. From here we get to see two people change and a family be created. What I love most about Anna is how she shows her son that love is biggest wealth and treasure you need. I also love what she is willing to do for her son.

the attraction between Anna and Clark isn’t really felt at first. It is reluctant but grows as they do and as they get to know one another. Both have issues to work through. Anna in trusting someone to be her partner and Clark in trying not to fix everything and letting go of guilt. As they do become close the attraction and love is felt more between them. the family that is built is seen from the moment Clark brings Anna and son into his world and that is when clark changes. He shows Anna’s son that mistakes are lessons and not something to fear making. That he can explore what he likes without being told it isn’t good. He is shown love support and patience. Clark becomes a role model for Anna’s son and more.

A sweet fun story of finding love and acceptance. Of family and friendship. A great swoony story. I love Clark’s moment at the end. And how he is with Anna’s son is so precious.

Single mom Anna Bishop doesn’t want help from anyone, but she does need a superhero for the birthday party she’s has planned for her seven-year-old. Luckily, her best friend’s brother agrees to suit up and play the role.

When architect Clark Wainwright agrees to do his sister a favor, he never expects to end up in a pair of tights…not to mention the tight spot he ends up in when he creates trouble for his sister’s best friend. Clark is a fixer, and he’ll do whatever it takes to fix the problem he causes for Anna and help her keep her son…whatever it takes…even of it means proposing.

Anna could do with a little rescuing…but it just might be Clark who gets saved in the end.

Review:

This is one of those stories that just make you go "Awe". It is sweet and sexy and you just want the couple to get over their obstacles and be together.

Clark being a stand-up guy leads to an incident that leads him to trying to fix it. Being a fixer is Clark's Achilles heel, but in this case leads to a marriage of convenience. This marriage of convenience to Anna starts out as strictly business, but soon life and feelings turn it into something more. It was fun to read Clark and Anna's romance. I loved that Clark is not afraid to don a super hero suit (more than once) and goes above and beyond to help others. The fixer part of him puts him at odds with those who don't want to be fixed all the time, including Anna. Anna, single mom dealing with an ex trying to take custody away is doing all she can to get by and make a life for her and her son. Loved Clark and Anna together as a couple and as individuals.

Having read one other book by this Author, I picked up this knowing I liked the other book and the writers style. I was not disappointed. This is a stand alone title and a quick read so good for an afternoon when you want a feel good romance. I am a little curious if Clark's sister, Taylor and his friend Jake might get a story??? I think they should ;)

A wonderful, charming romance!

The Favor is the second book I have read by Blaire Edens. This is a nicely executed marriage of convenience romance, even though the plot lost some of its connectivity from time to time. A determined mother, a meddling but caring new husband, and a cute little boy and his dog, all come together to create the heart of the story.

The only goodness that came out of Anna Bishop's marriage was her seven-year-old son Louie. Her ex is a big bully and his powerful family is quite influential in the community. As a result, Anna does everything she can to keep the peace, so that she will continue to be Louie's primary parent. Anna savors her independence and does not like to accept any help from others. She lives paycheck to paycheck, and making ends meet housecleaning is difficult at times. When her ex decides to sue her for sole custody, she accepts an offer to marry her best friend's brother. In the eyes of the old-fashioned judge presiding over her case, this marriage will ensure that Anna keeps custody of Louie.

Clark Wainwright is a talented architect and superhero. Filling in at Louie's birthday party for the no-show Redhawk is a success, however, breaking Anna's ex's nose is not. Clark blames himself for the eventual outcome of the incident, and marries Anna to ensure that she keeps Louie. Anna and Louie move into Clark's cabin, get a dog, and they all begin to form a family. Very quickly, Clark and Anna fall in lust and love.

I liked this story. Clark is a very good person, and he goes overboard at times to fix situations that he feels guilty about. Anna only wants what is best for Louie, however, her pride sometimes gets in the way of her happiness. Anna and Clark are a hot couple both in and out of the bedroom. Overall, this is a great read, and I am looking forward to reading the author's next book.

With The Favor, Ms. Edens showed how one act of kindness can impact more than one life. Anna finds herself in a bind and her friend suggests a solution that proceeds to turn this single mom's world upside down. Clark, the uptight architect needs to lighten up. Never did he think a favor for his sister would involve a super hero costume, a bunch of seven year olds and him losing his heart. If laughter is the best medicine, The Favor is the perfect remedy. Sweetly humorous romance. Definitely one - click material.

The Favor is a sweet story with a lot of potential. While I wish I got a better feel for the characters and what made them who they are I did find myself enjoying the story overall. The premise is a great one and is bound to attract many readers. In fact, this is why I chose to read this one in the first place. In addition to this, the book flows nicely. I never felt like I was missing anything (well, except for more character detail, I suppose) and I liked how everything wrapped up in the end. However, there are still lingering questions on my mind and I hope to see another book after this one. (Don't worry, there is no cliffhanger).

Anna Bishop is a determined single mom trying to find her way in the world without the help of anyone, after having to depend on her jerk of an ex-husband for everything, she wants to prove to herself that she can do things on her own. But every time she makes a little progress something happens and she finds herself struggling all over again, for instance, she scrimped and saved to put a birthday party on for her son, only to find that the man she hired to play Redhawk the superhero was a no show. But have no fear her best friend has things under control, she just so happens to have a brother that can save the day! And the minute he strolls through Anna's door she finds herself with a little superhero crush... and an intense desire to see what he has hidden under his costume!!

As soon as Clark Wainwright hears that Anna is desperate need of a superhero for her son's party, he jumps at the chance to save the day, and help make Louie's party special. But shortly after arriving he witnesses something that he just can't ignore, and winds up causing a little trouble between Anna and her ex-husband. He has known for years that the guy is a self-centered jerk, and that accompanied with the way he is treating Anna, gets under Clark's skin, no woman should have to deal with that... so he intervenes. Anna is certain that her ex will retaliate at her expense, so Clark promises her that he will handle the fall back from his actions... no matter the cost!!

This sweet and sexy story captured my attention from the first chapter, and held it intently until the last page was swiped, it was such a good read!! I thoroughly enjoyed my time with these characters, they charmed their way into my heart from the get-go and had me rooting them on the whole way through! Ms.Edens has created quite the literary treat for readers with this one, I highly recommend you add this one to your reading list, it is sure to warm your heart and leave you with a smile!

This book stands alone (although it foreshadows a possible second book in the series) and does not end on a cliffhanger. This one contains both on-screen sex and cursing including multiple f-bombs, so if those things turn you off, you probably won't enjoy this one.

While the author shows a lot of potential and I liked the premise of this book – this is exactly the kind of plot that I am drawn to - but sadly, I wasn't a fan of the writing style. There was way too much telling and not enough showing, and because of that, the story did not reach its full potential, which is a shame because I really wanted to love this one.

As a reader, I love experiencing things when I read a book, immersing myself in the settings and connecting with the characters. Unfortunately, in this book everything just happens. There literally is no build up or story-weaving so there was no chance to connect with the characters at all. This book is not a novella, it is a substantial length, but I never felt like I really “got to know” Clark or Anna which is a darned shame because both of them are the kinds of characters I would love if they were actually developed. Even once they married and Anna moved in with him, there was literally zero build up or character/couple development. The one and only time that they do take Louie out for the day and there was the *perfect* chance at a family bonding scene, it was instead just used as an excuse for a make out scene while Louie wandered the woods totally unsupervised. While we got a handful of sex scenes (which I am a fan of, don't get me wrong), months of out-of-bed bonding that would have made me actually care about this couple were totally skipped over in favor of the ever-frustrating “a few weeks later” phrase. That happened enough that the passage of time was hard to follow. I honestly still have no idea exactly how much time Anna and Louie actually lived at the cabin.

Another thing that bothered me as a reader was the amount of short sentences which I assume were meant to show emphasis. But instead, it quite felt to me. As if every other sentence. Was a short sentence. When a comma would have made more sense. I do realize that something like that is a personal preference but it drove me crazy to the point where I almost quit reading after four chapters.

If you like a quick, easy read that comes to a sweet little happy ending but that doesn't require a lot of thought or focus to read, this book fits that bill.

I requested and was generously granted an ARC of this book via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to write this review.
