Well, I read this book in one day. What does that say? First, I couldn’t put it down. Second, I was enthralled with both Mila and Thomas and just couldn’t get my fill of them. Third, Lexxie Couper knows how to pen a story, keep her readers engaged and on the edge of their seats.

I adored both of these characters and loved that the story was about them. Yes, there were a few supporting characters who were important to the book but weren’t truly highlighted until they were needed to help push the plotline ahead. Mila was smart, funny, serious and knew just how to make sure Thomas St. Clair kept his ego in check. He may have mistaken her for someone else, she may have let him think she was someone else and carried on the charade but, in the end, her conscious got the better of her and she knew what she had to do. She also realized just what and who she gave up with she did it.

Thomas St. Claim, renowned author was in a writing slump. Until his Muse walked through the front door with Reaper in her arms and a scowl on her face. There was something familiar about her but, what caught him by surprise is how all the words came flooding back into his head when she looked at him. Yes, he knew he was a jackass and could hold everyone at arm’s length but, there was something about Mila that had him wanting to open up, tell her about the real him and give her the heart he swore he would never relinquish to anyone.

As time goes on, as dates that aren’t dates happen, when they finally act on their lust and they get to know one another, you know that something will have to give. When it does, you don’t know who to feel sorry for the most. Both Mila and Thomas were hurt in one way or another. Both of them had to live up to and face their mistakes in the past and in the present. Neither one of them had a reason to truly hate the other as the truth came out … about both of them.

Seriously – I. Loved. This. Book! I could not put it down. I had no idea how the truth was going to come out or how either of them was going to take it. I couldn’t see how Lexxie Couper was going to resolve the situations. It’s funny, the sex actually took a back-seat in this story. It happened just the way it should have and when it should have … it wasn’t forced, it wasn’t unnatural. It was in the perfect place at the perfect time. But, this is what I expect from Lexxie Couper … a story that is a true romance; a story that holds you captive; a story that has you wanting to go back and read it over and over again.

Lexxie Couper makes me happy LOL

The Mistaken Billionaire was a terrific. The case of mistaken identity gone awry! Lemme just tell you the fun this book was … so Thomas has writer’s block and is ridiculously frustrated but one look at Mila and poof block no more. He also is under the impression that Mila is his hired escort for the charity event he is attending the evening he meets her. …. Now Mila, okay, she is just a woman holding a lost dog at Thomas’ front door. She’s not an escort. But she doesn’t tell him that. Why you ask? Because they’ve actually met before and it was …. not so good LOL She’s not looking for revenge, just a little fun at his expense … Let the games begin 🙂

As I already mentioned, this story was fun! It was also flirty and sexy and captivating and a really good time. I was so captivated by the shenanigans that I read this in one sitting! Do yourselves a favor … read this book 🙂

I love the Mistaken Billionaire! It's sexy, emotionally satisfying and the chemistry between Thomas and Mila jumps off the pages. Mila is a teacher, a good teacher who's happy with her job. But, long ago, she wanted to be, and was on her way to becoming, a writer for the New York Times. She was an intern who knew if she wanted to land that permanent job, she had to do a bang up job of writing her assigned article: a story about Thomas St. Clair, the new horror writer whose book was rocketing up the best seller lists. So Mila did everything she could do, all the research she could, before her interview. Only, Thomas kept putting her off, never showing up for assigned meetings, brushing off her emails, basically ghosting her, so she did the only thing she could do, wrote the article without his input. And that article, as good as it was, upset poor Thomas, and he had her fired, threatened to sue her if she ever came near him in the future, and changed the course of her life.

Now, 8 years later, Mila is in her car on her way to meet her sister at her sister's wrap party, when an adorable Boston Terrier runs in front of her. So Mila to the rescue. And just who ends up owning that adorable Boston Terrier? None other than Thomas St. Clair, only of course he doesn't recognize the beautiful redheaded woman on his doorstep holding his dog, Reaper, because he never actually met her back when she was assigned to do an article about him, and she doesn't look the same anyway. When Thomas assumes she's the escort his agent hired to accompany him to a tribute dinner at his high school, she decides to go along with it. Why? Well, she can't help but be attracted to the gorgeous guy, never mind that he "was a bastard billionaire who'd cared so little about her career, about professional commitments, he'd brushed her off and brought out the worst in her. Not the best. The worst." Never mind that he obviously doesn't know who she is.

Meeting Mila awakens Thomas' previously blocked mind. All the sudden, he can write again. The words are pouring out of his mind. So, he asks, no begs, Mila to be his muse. Of course she says no, but when he offers to pay her hourly, she thinks about it and knows this will be the way she can get her laptop for students initiative off the ground for the students at the inner city school where she teaches. She didn't expect to fall in love with him as the weeks wound by, didn't expect to actually like the man who blew up her life. Didn't expect to find he wasn't at all the man she had thought all these years since. And when the blowup inevitably happens, it is brutal. But, in Lexxie Couper's deft hands, the story is wound up in a rather thoughtful, emotional way. Behold, the billionaire does some serious character growth, some maturing. And it's glorious!

About the only thing that could have made The Mistaken Billionaire better is if it had an epilogue, and it's the reason I couldn't give this a 5 star review. The whole of the story up to that point, though, deserved 5 stars, because it's sexy, sweet and Thomas and Mila are fully realized, fully fleshed out characters with a beautiful connection, both physical and emotional. I'm looking forward to more from Lexxie Couper, and hoping that Sebastian gets a story next!

The Mistaken Billionaire is book two in the Muse series and it is just a good as the first. All the books in this series are standalones so you don’t need to read the first one before reading book two. Thomas St. Clair is an author and in the middle of book that is on a deadline but dealing with some serious writer’s block. Mila finds a dog in the street so when she sees the address is close by she decides to deliver the dog personally. Mila is shocked when Thomas opens the door because eight years ago she had a promising future as a full-time journalist until she had to interview him but he refused to answer her questions. So she wrote her own article that he didn’t like and in turn had her fired. Now Mila is a teacher but still has some residuals animosity toward him for ruining her dream job. Thomas doesn’t remember her when he opens the door, but what he does know is she inspires words he thought he would never get. Thomas needs Mila to keep him inspired so he can finish this book so he asks her to stick around and spend time with him. I enjoyed reading this book because it had interesting characters with a strong storyline. I would give this novel 4.5 stars.

I reviewed an ARC from Netgalley.

I almost gave up on this book. NOT because the story was bad, but because the editing was atrocious. Actually, this was really a kick ass book and I'm glad I kept with it. The characters were awesome, the story was really good. But, OH MY, the editing or rather the lack of. IF you can get past that, I think you'll really enjoy this book. It was so good, in fact, that I think I'll try another of Lexxie Couper's books and hope that someone got the message.....

One thwarted would be journalist, an author suffering from writers block and a big secret make for a great love story!
Out of school and looking to prove herself Mila is given the job to interview Thomas St Clair, master horror story author. He however makes excuse after excuse to miss the interview. So Mila does some research and writes a very well written expose on the Author, it does not go over well and she is terminated before her career gets off the ground. Fast forward to eight years later.
Mila is on her way to her sister's wrap up party and gets the directions wrong. she almost hits a small dog and finds out his owner is none other than The Thomas St Clair. She returns the dog and he thinks that she is the escort his agent set him up with. So begins a great romance full of laughter, fun, loving and of course drama!!
Read the Mistaken Billionaire by Lexxie Cooper. It is a fast paced love story that will suck you in and keep you interested until the last page! So be prepared for a great rollercoaster ride!!

I have a confession.  I may or may not overlook a book if it has the word billionaires in the title. (Insert blushing emoji hiding behind hands) I can’t help it. Since the book market has been flooded with independent titles, I have found myself disappointed with several of the billionaire insta-lust romances.

BUT I was intrigued by The Mistaken Billionaire’s plot – it looked like a fun read. BUT I let it sit in my library forever. Honestly, I had wicked high hopes and I was terrified that I was going to be let down by another storyline or set of characters.

BUT here’s what makes me love finding new authors and taking chances with books. Some times they exceed all of your expectations and blow you out of the water. The Mistaken Billionaire was one of those books for me – I freaking LOVED this romance.

Thomas and Mila shared the most incredible chemistry. I wanted to reach into the story and rip their clothes off for them. Sweet Jesus!! These two!! Every moment together was exciting and passionate. Fun. I absolutely adored my time with this duo.

Mila and Thomas share a history – unknowingly to Thomas – and it taints the budding relationship for Mila. She knows that once Thomas learns the truth, it will be all over for them and she isn’t willing to give him up.  This should have made for a predictable read, right?!? Lies always blow up in the face of the liar and eventually they work it all out.  Blah, blah, blah.

What made this such a good book was that I knew what was coming and yet, I totally wasn’t prepared when it happened. I was so entrenched in their lives that I stopped thinking and was just experiencing the story as it happened.  It was awesome.

It’s what make The Mistaken Billionaire a must read recommendation from me.  You need to meet this couple and experience their journey.  It’s spectacular storytelling from Lexxie Couper.

St. Claire is a self made billionaire through the novels that he has written. However, he's been suffering from writer's block. But when Mila shows up he's completely taken with her. She's a mystery he needs to solve. And if she is his muse in the duration, so much the better.

After the first half hour of reading I knew where this novel was going. It's a light and interesting read which is perfect for a lazy day.

Mila is on the way to her sister’s party when a dog comes running out and she almost hits him. She sees the god’s tag and goes to return him to his owner. The dog’s name was Reaper. Thomas opens the door and thinks she is an hired escort that his assistant had hired for a charity event he must attend. Mil decides to let Thomas believe that. Somehow Mila seems to help Thomas overcome his writer's block and hires her just to be around him. She seems to look familiar to Thomas. Eight years ago Mila was an intern and promised a full time journalist job if she got an interview with the up and coming author Thomas St. Claire. Thomas was a horror writer and had been very young and had a book on the New York Times bestseller list. But Thomas avoided Mila and she wrote something about his bad childhood and Thomas got her fired. Now Mila was a teacher in NYC for underprivileged children. She had never forgotten how Thomas had ruined her chance to be a journalist. There was something about Mila that made Thomas want to open up and tell her about the real him. Mila’s conscious i was getting the better of her and she wanted to tell Thomas the truth.
I liked this book a lot. It had a good plot and well paced. I didn’t want to put this down once I started reading it. I loved Reaper and felt he added to the book. I also loved how oddly enough Thomas felt Mila was his muse. I loved the twists and turns in this book. But it was a little predictable and I am also a little tired of the insta/love- lust. But I did enjoy it a lot and loved the characters and I recommend.

This book was a hoot to read! What happens when Mila gets turned around and ends up across town from where she is supposed to be and almost hits a dog running into the road in front of her? Who does the dog belong to? What is his name? When she finds the dog and takes him back to his home, what happens is completely unexpected and a blast to read. It's like two trains heading on the fast track to a massive wreck. When Mila becomes his muse, what happens? How does she recognize the name? Why? What happened to her because of him years ago? Why does she not tell him who she is? Does she ever? If so, what happens? This was a completely fun read and I thoroughly enjoyed myself reading it!

Enemies who have never met? A muse with a secret? The Mistaken Billionaire is the story of an author with writers block and a woman whose life he ruined years ago.

Thomas St. Clair skyrocketed to literary fame early in his life. Mila wanted to be a reporter for the New York Times more than anything. Writing an article about St. Clair was going to be her ticket. Except, he never met with her, gave her any info, or participated in the interview in any way. So, she became and investigator and found the info to write a less than flattering article. After its publication, Thomas threatened to sue NYT if they didn't fire her. Mila is now a teacher and while she is passionate about what she does, she does still harbor a lot of resentment towards Thomas. Their chance meeting sets off a chain of events that neither can seem to stop!

Thomas falls in love at first sight with Mila. Her presence cures his writers block, and as he gets to know her, he is genuinely captivated by her. She challenges him and she can hold her own with his massive ego. He knows she is 'the one' but is willing to do anything just to keep her around him, including paying her for her time. Mila is desperate for money to help her students, and deep down, she still wants revenge on Thomas. As they get to know each other more, Mila is slowly being crushed by the weight of the secret she kept from Thomas because she has feelings for him.

I enjoyed the story and thought it was a nice balance between witty and light hearted. It is predictable for sure, but in a story like this, I don't think that is necessary tragic. I found Thomas a bit narcissistic (okay, a lot narcissistic) which made me struggle to really like him. I actually sided with Mila a great deal and while she didn't tell him her secret right away, I didn't find that to be a HORRIBLE character flaw or anything. He was really horrible to her when he torched her career because she hurt his feelings. Nothing she wrote in the article was slanderous or libidenous so she didn't break the law, only hurt his feelings. So, I struggled with Thomas for a lot of the book. He is charming for sure, and that is probably what save him in my book.

If you like a bit of enemies to lovers, artist/muse, and secret identity tropes, The Mistaken Billionaire will be right up your literary alley!

I absolutely loved this book. Yes, there was an aspect of it that was predictable but it really didn't matter. The way in which it was written allowed you to follow the story and I kept waiting and waiting for the plot to reach its peak and when it did, it didn't disappoint.
The author certainly perfected the art of making you carry on reading... 2 nights up until 1.30am and this morning I was still reading whilst applying my makeup getting ready for work.
I really can't say enough about this book and I'll certainly be looking for other titles from this author.

From the first page I was hooked, I loved Mila's character and loved being in her head.
It was fun watching Thomas and Mila together, they entertained me all throughout the book and loved how their relationship unfolded. From mistake in identity to the steamy lovers, these two were perfect for each other.
And if you're like me and love dogs, you will love Reaper, Thomas's adorable dog. He added to my overall enjoyment and I couldn't get enough of him ;)

What are the chances of accidently coming across someone that you have loathed for eight years? Is it fate? This is exactly what this novel is about.

Thomas hit the headlines with a best selling novel which turned into a film, eight years ago when he was barely seventeen. He is now a billionaire and very much in demand. His childhood upbringing has taught him to keep everything close to his heart. Until now!

Mila's dream of becoming a journalist ended after writing an article which had her fired when she was an intern. She is a teacher who works hard and no play. Deep down she is still resentful of the person and the reasons why, her dream came to an end.

On her way to her sister's party one night, she finds a stranded dog and takes him back to his owner. None other than Thomas! She has the advantage of knowing who he is but he is clueless of her identity. He is rather taken by her and assumes that she is his escort to the dinner party being held in his honour. She plays along, thinking that this is an opportunity to have what she couldn’t all those years ago. An insight into his life!

Upon seeing her, Thomas' writer's block vanishes and he is convinced that she is his muse. He makes an offer that she can't refuse as it will benefit the school. So she tells herself. The thing is that he loses his public persona when he is with her and she is more relaxed too. The chemistry between them is scorching and giving in is inevitable. She becomes more than his muse and, as she gets to know the "real" Thomas, she no longer wants revenge. He opens up to her but she holds on to her secret and when the truth comes out, it creates an emotional turmoil. It would appear that there have been misunderstandings all round.

I like Mila's no nonsense attitude even though she is indecisive at times. Thomas is just lovable, despite his own quirks. The witty banters during their interactions would bring a smile to anyone's face. Their sexual interludes are intense and their feelings are palpable. This romance is well paced and beautifully portrayed. It's easy to read and addictive.

I received a complimentary ecopy and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

I don't even know where to start telling you how wonderful this book is. It's absolute GOLD.

From the moment Mina rescues super-famous horror author Thomas St Clair's dog, she knows she's in trouble. Not least because once upon a time, when she was a budding journalist and he was a barely-out-of-his-teens author with a New York Times bestseller, he blew her off when she was assigned to interview him. Exasperated beyond reason, she wrote a brutal exposé on his awful childhood, and then he got her fired in retaliation.

The Mistaken Billionaire takes those long-ago actions and really twists them around, using them to show how Thomas and Mina both became different people because of them. They are absolutely perfect for each other now, but with a secret like that between them (because Thomas doesn't know Mina is the journalist who once tore his private life apart for the world to see) how can they ever find happiness together?

Well, as you might imagine, that's a road that's got some serious twists and turns in it, and I was more than happy to be along for the ride. I hadn't read anything by Lexxie Couper before but damn, I will be looking out for more now, because this was absolutely fantastic. Although it's the second book in the Muse series, it stands perfectly well alone - the protagonists of the first are only mentioned in passing.

I find myself seriously hoping that Sebastian, Thomas' Aussie film director friend, is the hero of the third. Yes, Lexxie Couper, I got the 'Michael Dundee' inside joke and damn nearly laughed my ass off. Hysterical!

The Mistaken Billionaire was an absolutely fantastic read. I didn't want to put it down. Five well-deserved stars.

Fun and sexy! I loved this book, the chemistry between Thomas and Mila was off the charts instantly. I was rooting for them, found myself worried about the reaction of him discovering who she really was.

I didn't find myself missing anything by not reading the first in the series, but I want to read it now! If you are looking for a read that will make you laugh and has plenty of sexiness - don't wait! Pick it up now!
