I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.
This Bay Area CA progressiveness is interesting but over-the-top at times. Like this "hetereonormative" crap after they had sex. This isn't a same-sex novel and I dont think anyone is judging it for not discussing same-sex relationships...
Otherwise, I have been enjoying this. It is a novella, so very fast-paced and skips around a bunch, but that is fine.
I do wish there was a bit less of the other couples though. I get that the prior two books featured them, but they sure are talked about a lot considering this is a novella.
Huh. I enjoyed that but it was a bit deep for something so fluffy.
The progression of their friendship was sweet, the Ravi thing mostly just a contrivance (He couldn't have been more involved??), and the phone sex was a bit abrupt but it worked. Except they didn't talk about it and that is a bit weird.

Noah is a classics student sent to extra credit for staging a protest sit in. Extra credit is a pilot class that students go to in penance for bad behavior. Noah lives his life like a eighty year old man. References to latin and greek are all he knows. Holly is his complete opposite - a computer science student. She is in Extra Credit for hacking into the school computer. Noah is tongue tied and quiet around Holly and Holly has no filter and is fiesty. Their solution to their issues is to live a little in each other’s world and live more n the physical world.. Holly has a boyfriend and is in a long distance romance. But she is not sure all is great between her and her boyfriend. Noah is already half in love with Holly. Noah and holly can talk about anything with each other but their feelings. Rachel and their friends encourage Noah and Holly to go further with their relationship. Holly is totally unaware of the effect she has on Noah. But Noah is good at hiding his feelings especially since he doesn’t want to lose his friendship with Holly.
I had mixed feelings on this novella. But I did like Holly was the computer nerd and Noah was the quiet shy one. I advise you to read the other books in this series in order so you know the other students involved in this book. I did like how Noah and Holly interacted with each other. I did enjoy watching Noah and holly’s relationship grow.I did however feel like this was lacking something. I felt this geared toward the younger teens. I think Noah was just a little too passive for me. This dragged at times for me. As I said I had mixed feelings on this.
This was such a fun read! I loved the chemistry between Noah and Holly because it felt so real. A perfect friends-to-lovers for any romance fan!
The Lesson Plan is one of those books for me. When I requested it I did it because the blurb sound interesting but in the end that's not what I got at all because this book ended up being kind of "meh". It was so "meh" that I even forgot about it... I'm not joking. I read this a month ago and I just realized I didn't review it because I just forgot about it. As you can see I was kind of indifferent about it.
Here's the thing, I didn't hate this book and I didn't hate the characters but I also didn't love them. To be honest, I didn't connect with the characters at all. Both Holly and Noah could have been awesome but in the end nothing really happened. There was barely any grow even if there was so much that could have had happened. I also didn't love their relationship. I really liked them as friends and I was liking where their relationship was heading but it became kind of weird. They still had a cool chemistry and that's always good.
Now here's my main problem. There was barely any plot on this book. Nothing happened. Basically this was about them meeting and the building up to their relationship. I just would have liked something else to have happened.
Overall, while this was a fast read I still think that there was something missing that didn't allow me to connect with the story and the characters. I still think some people might like it even if I wouldn't recommend it.
I really enjoyed the book, it has everything I love in a novel from start to finish. I can’t wait to read what the author has planned next!
This was a quick romantic read. However, some of the story line felt forced and rushed. I totally understand that the premise of these romance books is the idea of a quick romance ... but I've ultimately read better. If you just need an escape, it would be a great book but I didn't feel any real connection to the characters.
Cute! A good conclusion for the third couple of this series. Sweet romance and good friendships.
So… this book… I’m not even sure how to review it, to be honest. Let me start by saying that I wasn’t blown away by it, not at all, but it wasn’t a bad book. It was just very meh.
The writing was ok, but the author overused exclamations, which for me to be saying that means something, because I use exclamations a lot. Still, the writing was funny, the book was told in dual POV and the voices were distinct.
My main issue with this book was that I truly didn’t connect with the characters. I thought they both had some serious potential, but they fell a bit too short. Still, I liked Noah enough, he was cute and such a great person and an amazing friend. I wish he had stood up for himself a bit better. And Holly… I don’t know, I liked her, she was hilarious, but she was so clueless… and I’m still not sure why she did some of the stuff she did, and her indecisions.
This was also my issue with the plot, or the lack of it. While I thought that Holly and Noah were cute together, I hated how indecisive she was about her life, but more than anything, I felt we don’t see any growth at all. By the end, I knew she had grown, but I didn’t see it. And their relationship development just didn’t feel organic to me. Some of the events of the book also didn’t make that much sense in my opinion.
Because of these issues, I wasn’t able to rate this book higher than 3 stars, and I’m honestly not curious at all to read the remaining two books of this series. Still, this was a fast and funny book, and I can see a lot of people having a great time with it.
This is the third book in series and i did enjoy, this is the last couple in there small group. This is Noah and Holly's turn. He is a nerd, and she is a sci fi enthusiast, but opposites do attract. Noah talks about everything, except his feelings for Holly, and to top it off she has a boyfriend, who is not really nice to her. There friends encourage them, but it takes a long time for them to accept that they want more out of their friendship. Of course they finally do. It is nice to read all of the group different POV.

The lesson plan is sweet collage read. Noah and Holly are stuck together as a partner in Extra credit class. They are too stuck in book and computers so they are trying to change that and in the way they fall in love. Sweet romance between nerd and a geek. Holly is soo funny and outgoing girl, with great sense of humor. Noah is shy but smart and guy with great caring personality. Cut love story.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
When I read the blurb, I sort of assumed that the boy (Noah) would be the Nerd and that Holly would be the Geek. But no, it was the other way around. Holly was the computer nerd, suspended for hacking into the school systems. And Noah is the awfully quiet student, who is more comfortable between the dead Romans than around girls.
So yeah, I really liked the concept, and you also get to read some of the adventures of the other student couples from the rest of the series. Noah is absolutely adorable and the way Holly keeps him on edge by blurting everything she thinks into their classroom is just too cute.
Holly is the total opposite of Noah: a self-assured girl with an attitude. The one thing she is not so sure of, is her boyfriend. They have a long distance relationship and Holly is not sure if all is well between them. So she asks Noah for help. However, since Noah is kind of falling for the headstrong Holly gets a bit lip-tied by all of her questions. I mean, what kind of question is: "When is sex actual sex? Does oral sex count? Or sexting or phone sex?" Hilarious. Especially since Holly has helped Noah becoming better with the opposite sex by having phone sex.
In all: a wonderful read. It can be read separately from the other Extra Credit books from Charlotte Penn Clark. But I think I need some extra credits as well, so I'll start on The Partnership or The Do-Over. Four out of five stars from me.
*i received this as an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review*
This book was super adorable. My favorite trope are friends falling for each other! It was done very well. If anything it felt a it rushed so I would've liked it to be a bit longer but I still really enjoyed the book.
This book wasn't what I was expecting at all, that is why I think I didn't care for it. Maybe I will try it again in the future.
Great ending to a sweet but spicy NA series.
And so we turn to our third couple in this series about six college students forced to attend a pilot class called Extra Credit in penance for bad behaviour. The three books each focus on two of the classmates and they run concurrently.
Noah is a Classics student, sent to Extra Credit of staging a protest sit in. He is waaaay too cerebral and lives life like an 80 year old, references to Latin and Greek are all he knows. Holly is his exact opposite, a comp-sci student sent to Extra Credit for making electronic data (eg music and films) from the internet free she lives totally in the here and now. Noah is tongue-tied around Holly, Holly has no filter. Yet, although they are opposites they are also suffering the same issue, living inside their own little bubbles. Their 'solution' to their issues is to live life a little in each other's worlds and to try to exist more in the physical world eg swimming and running, rather than the intellectual one.
Noah was already half in love with Holly before they even met properly and acquaintance just brings them closer, but there's just a leetle problem ... Holly has a boyfriend in Palo Alto.
This a great, sexy novel about two young people too afraid to talk about their feelings, even when they feel free to talk about everything (and I do mean everything) else. Both suffer from self-doubt, Noah because he is a bit of a nerd and Holly because her boyfriend is a bit unkind. Despite the encouragement of their friends and Noah's twin Rachel, it takes them a long time to realise what they have and want they really want.
If you haven't read this series, and you enjoy NA, I thoroughly recommend it. The characters are new and different and the angst is low.
