I have read Ms. Schmidt before and she never disappoints as long as you like bad rich boys!! Terri is a barista and Mick comes in everyday at 8:57 to get his coffee all attude......the chemistry between the two is electric......it's a fun and fast read thanks in part to the characters honesty and humor. The twists and turns make it a page turner that will not disappoint

Stud by Jamie K. Schmidt is a standalone contemporary romance that is very steamy with some funny moments spread throughout, however there was just something missing. Now add in all the drama and craziness of Mick’s family that made the story so far from relatable and realistic, not to mention the ending that just came to a quick end in a poorly executed manner and you’ve got a middle-of-the-road for me; it wasn’t horrible, but at the same time I wasn’t wowed though either.

Stud was an okay read for me. The characters were likable but Simon and his brother Mick has the worst parents ever! Terri is a real straight-shooter and says exactly what she wants but she has a heart of gold. She loved, protected and adored her brother Billy even though he was older. I enjoyed a few laughs while reading this book. I really wanted to enjoy this story but something fell short for me. The ending was wrapped up a little too nicely or too perfect, especially with Laila, Janet and Simon. I think readers who are looking for a great erotic read that has a bit of humor, family problems, scandals and love might enjoy this book so I'd say give it a try.

First, the cover doesn't depict the lead male character at all. Just print that out there.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. We have a down on her luck woman, Terri Cooke, whose just trying to make enough to cover expenses for her suddenly seriously ill brother. She's snarky and gives back to the hunky man who is abrupt with his order, Mick Wentworth. The tides turn when Mick needs Terri's help keeping a new client. And Terri opens up Mick's world to more than he can possibly imagine. While Mick's dealing with family drama and Terri's brothers unknown illness they are pulled in many directions. But what hurdles can you overcome when you realize more than sex is involved?

I absolutely enjoyed this book. It had all the ingredients i like: Witty heroine, rich-arrogant-alpha hero and enough sexual tension to feel on your toes..
I just loved it!!!

4.5stars
Stud is a great love hate story. The story about the person that you really want to hate but it is a problem because there is so strong attraction between you that you cant make it to the bed. I loved the story and the characters in it. Both great develop and likable. Although sweet hot and funny the story has it sensible side and carry’s a message. I loved Terri, hers geeky clever funny way of thinking. Mick turns out to be complete different person that is presented at first and I like the whole picture of him. With Terri they make a great couple.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

I really enjoyed the lead characters in this book, Terri and Mick. The chemistry between them was sizzling! Hot, steamy love scenes. I loved the geek in her as well as the sexy, siren.

Terri works as a barista at the local coffee shop and Mick comes in everyday at the same time to get coffee. Mick usually doesn't say anything to her, but she is very attracted to him. What Terri doesn't realize is Mick is just as attracted to her. When Terri applies for a job at Mick's company as a marketing assistant he tries to keep their relationship strictly business, but that doesn't last very long.
This was a great read filled with a lot of lust and great sex scenes. I loved the friendly banter Terri and Mick have, and was pleased they were able to overcome some of the obstacles in their way.

A bit of a different twist from the SOB series which I am loving, but this was a great story also, in it's own right.
Terri is the barista that takes no crap especially from the businessman who snapped his fingers in her face her first day on the job. It was a while before she even knew his name, but her boss made it clear he was a VIP and she needed to avail herself to him. Every morning at 8:57 his drink was ready and after getting a good long hard look at her chest, he'd leave. Terri is feisty as hell and I loved that about her so two can play that game, so thus begins the eye f***ing routine, then a date/ non date.
She tells him it's a one night only, the girl works three jobs and is caregiver to her brother who has a disease similar to ALS. She takes him to his appts. and is there for him. They get along well and have always looked out for each other.
Unlike Mick's family who totally take the fun out of dysfunctional, he caught his father embezzling from the company they own so he has him arrested, fires his mother and he and his brother Simon do not get along. Simon likes to boink his secretaries. His latest in now 8 months pregnant, oops! And is Mick's secretary. Too much melodrama for this girl but the story goes on. Mick has just landed a multimillion dollar contract for a gaming company and is over the top ecstatic. Problem is he knows nothing about games and Terri happens to play along with her brother and Terri is at the top of her level. So while catering this business meeting with the owners of the company she talks to one of the owners and has a few ideas and next thing you know, Mick now has to hire her. Which means to him, he can no longer sleep with her and aww geee the guy only had two endurance runs with her. Geeeez!!
More drama with the family, things get tense and I'm not giving another thing away. Gotta read the book to see what happens. I really liked Terri, totally relatable and speaks her mind. Mick was harder to warm up too, but I think being around Terri softened him up a little and made him a little more human. The book is light reading. I still like the series better, but this was ok as it stood.

I really enjoyed the story because it is different than the zillions of other books out there.
However, it felt like part of the story was missing. I don't want to give anything away but how the story wrapped up didn't match up to the rest of the book.

Stud by Jamie K. Schmidt was a really surprisingly good story with charming characters and a captivating story line. This was the first book I've read by this author but definitely will not be my last because it really was a cute but gritty erotica novel. Fast paced and good dialog. Thanks to Netgalley and Loveswept for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.

This book started off really well. It looked like a fun and snappy read. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations set and towards the middle I just flipped through

I enjoyed this story about a business and an underemployed barista. Terri’s working in a coffee shop for beans (pun intended) despite being educated because the job offers flexibility required to care for her sick older brother. Mick comes into said coffee shop daily to pick up a ridiculous girly drink. Sparks fly, and the two fit nicely together. The story was fleshed out with Mick’s family drama and Terri’s struggle to care for her brother. Nice read. Thanks to netgalley and publisher for ARC.

Stud is the steamy(very) story of Mick and Terri. Terri previously highly qualified in marketing has had to take a job as a barista as she needs to look after her invalided brother and cover his medical bills and work hours that suit to enable her to take him to all his medical appointments. Mick a high powered business man turns up every morning at the same time for his coffee, he is usually rude arrogant and demanding.
They have to work together when Mick has to put a pitch to obtain a gaming companies business, he knows nothing of the gaming world whereas Terri is well versed in playing computer games and marketing so she agrees to help him.
So starts a highly charged erotic relationship, throw in Micks evil parents and philandering brother and off you go.
An easy read and entertaining enough but little depth, the story involving brother and parents is more a sideline and forgive me for saying this about an erotic romance, too much sex that seemed to be used to pad out the pages.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest and independent review.
Mick is the perfect hero - gorgeous, sexy, rich and a bad boy with a dysfunctional family. Terri is sweet and loving and a real family person. From their initial meeting there is lots of sexual chemistry.
This a steamy romance, predictable but an easy read. Perhaps a little bit too much computer gaming references for my liking.

What happens when your supposedly one night stand turns into more but then it becomes your boss and an office romance is a no no?
Life for Terri Cooke is busy working two jobs trying to keep things a float while her brother health is declining. She gives up her dream job in advertising so she can take care of her brother. Gaming in between the jobs is
her only thing she has time for.
Mick Wentworth runs an advertising agency. He meets her where she works at a coffee shop where they clash. It’s a battle of the sexes as they find themselves attract to each other and eventually giving in. But one night is not enough for the both of them.
He orders a spread for his new client where she serves food and coffee. The client is interested in her ideas. Mick ends up hiring her since he does not really know anything about the gaming community. This puts whatever sexual feelings on the back burner between them.
Opposites attract and so is the family background of these two characters.

Mick has quite a bit on his plate with his family and work life in dysfunction he gives off an air of "don't mess with me".
Terri is trying to keep her and her brother's heads above water after tackling a medical issue with no known cure.
When these two get together it's a bit comical, explosive, but a whole lot of sexual tension.

Terri works at a coffee place and can't help but notice the sexy guy that comes in every morning. Mick can't take his eyes of her either but his arrogant attitude irritates her. He comes in to get coffee and check out the cleavage baring Terri. She has a mouth on her that offends and intrigues him. ,Eventually, they hook up and the sparks fly. Between her taking care of her sick brother and his dysfunctional family, they have an uphill battle if they plan to stay together. If you like red hot erotic romance, this is the book for you!

2.5 uneven stars. This was a great example of when the sample is fantastic but the rest of the book fails to live up to those first pages.
A great beginning with barista Terri and businessman Mick locked in a silent war of fierce sexual tension. Every day, Mick picks up his coffee order from Terri and the two engage in wordless eye-banging that escalates with each sighting. Terri and Mick are from two totally different worlds and should never have met: Mick is a high-flying marketing exec from a wealthy, pedigreed family while Terri is frantically juggling jobs to take care of her sick brother.
Somehow, Mick and Terri's worlds collide and suddenly there's office sex, parents in jail, sibling rivalry, cyber sex, blackmail, medical emergencies, and Vegas. This should have been a recipe for an exciting, volatile drama, but I was mostly left cold by Mick. Terri is a firecracker - a sexually confident gamer girl with tremendous loyalty to her older brother Billy. But Mick comes across as a cocky, cold, self-absorbed and whiny - his Poor Rich Boy Who Got No Love from His Family shtick rings hollow. I also didn't buy his purported altruism for Billy, his secretary, or Elaine for a minute. The only thing Mick cares about is besting his parents and brother in order to keep his marketing agency. He treats Terri more like a booty call and his last-minute turn around to committed boyfriend felt fairly insincere.
Pet peeve: it drives me a little batty when the cover doesn't match the story. What's with the cigar-smoking dude?
4 stars for Terri + 2 stars for Mick + bonus for Terri's brother Billy = 2.5 stars
