Mason is a friend of Nicole's brother, he saved Mason's life, and asked him to check on his sister Nicole. He decided to stay and help her fix up her house and get to know her. It was also helping Mason because he needed a break from LA and everything that went with being in a rock band. The more time they spent together the more their chemistry sizzled and couldn't be denied. Mason is everything Nicole doesn't want in a significant other, but it doesn't seem to matter because she is drawn to him like sparks to a flame. But in the end they end up being everything that they need to each other.

I loved Mason and Nicole's story and they made me remember what I loved about this author and this series. These characters made me cry, laugh, made me want to shake them a few times, but most of all they made me keep hoping they were able to get back to each other and find their HEA. I am so glad they got that and that we were able to see them a little ways into the future and how happy everyone was. I will miss these characters!

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Stina Lindenblatt’s Pushing Limits series and was excited to read I Need You Tonight, what appears to be the third and final book in this series. I felt like this romance had two faces; one was sweet and endearing and the other was hard and painful and while I made it through to the end there were a few times I almost gave up on it. This author wrote a tangled story with many layers and I appreciated the fact it wasn’t an easy romance, but I also hated that despite the level of intimacy this couple had and the depth of their feelings that there were lies and deceit between them.

Mason Dell loves his life; the tattooed bad boy drummer of Pushing Limits is enjoying his rock and roll lifestyle and knows his band is about to break out big time. So when the man that saved his life a few years back calls and asks him for a favor he has no problems dropping everything to run and check on that man’s sister, he just never expects for her to change his life forever.

After a really bad relationship Nicole McCormick made a list of requirements for her perfect man, but several dates with men who bit the bill have left her uninspired. When her brother’s best friend shows up on her doorstep to check up on her, she knows instantly that Mason is the complete opposite of her “perfect man,” too bad her body doesn’t understand.

I loved the first part of this book when Mason shows up on Nicole’s doorstep and he ends up staying for awhile. I liked that they became friends and they were comfortable with one another from the start and while I appreciated that they agreed to what was basically a “friends with benefits” arrangement, I hated that as their feelings changed they never discussed what they were feeling. This led them both to feeling unwanted; Mason because he wasn’t anything like Nicole’s “perfect man” and Nicole because she couldn’t offer Mason the variety he claimed he needed. To top it off Mason was harboring some really big secrets that he should have shared with Nicole especially after his father passed away. It bothered me that he claimed he loved her, but she didn’t really know him at all and he let her fall in love with just the pieces he was willing to show her.

As Pushing Limits popularity increases so does the expectations and stress that comes from being a much sought after opening act. It was fun seeing the rest of the band members and their significant others and getting glimpse into their lives once again. I enjoyed the camaraderie between the guys and how they brought Nicole into their fold, but I was also a bit disappointed in the fact that despite Mason’s problems in the past none of his band mates, the men he called his brothers, took action when he was slipping away from them.

While I was thrilled with the outcome of I Need You Tonight, I can’t say that I loved this book as much as the others in this series. There were a few unanswered questions that still plague me and the lies and deceit made it hard for me to accept this relationship fully. That being said, this book was complicated and entertaining with both a sweet and a sexy side.

I loved this series a lot, and I NEED YOU TONIGHT wasn't different. Mason, the lead character, is the drummer of a band (and if you've read the previous books, then you know what band I'm talking about), and he's sent to check on his best friend’s sister to make sure she is fine since she hadn’t been answering her phone.

But she's more than OK, and quickly the two of them feel a pull, an energy, that goes between them. The question is how much they are going to fight the attraction that attraction.

Mason and Nicole have pasts touched by gambling, he as an addict, and she as the daughter of one, so this book offers to the readers something more than a steamy romance, it offers a little bit of reality. But don't worry, there were scorching hot moments, as well as tender ones, while the author did her magic in the story.

Mason is a very nice guy underneath the bad boy façade, and Nicole was a wonderful character as well. I loved this book and I loved their story. This has been an amazing series to read, and I'm looking forward for more books by this author.

Closer to 3.5 stars, but still an enjoyable read.

This is the third book of the Pushing Limits series, but you don't have to read them in order to know what is going on. It was helpful to have read Book #2, but not necessary.

This one didn't quite hit the mark for me as I just didn't relate and connect with the characters like I did in the previous book.

Mason is a rock god as the drummer of Pushing Limits - he's also a little too unbelievable as he's handy around the house; every woman's dream of a gorgeous body; good with kids; and a rock star. His one vice (which to be fair is a big one) is a recovering gambling addict.

Nicole is the sweet girl next door (or good friend's little sister) and she is a businesswoman running her own business with a friend. Mason shows up unexpectedly to check on her and then stays for awhile.

The story just didn't ring completely true and the fact that Mason was able to fall off the wagon so quickly - come on guys - you play a concert in Atlantic City without contingency plans for your recovering addict bandmate/brother!! Nicole bails as it brings up haunting memories of her past.

The ending was unexpected although you can kinda guess how it will turn out. It's a little sugary sweet with some heat.

It's a good enough series that I'm sure this is just a blip for me. Looking forward to the rest of the band's stories.

I voluntarily reviewed an uncorrected advance copy via Net Galley from the publisher.

Finally! A romance book that I enjoyed. I really liked Mason as a character. I loved his development in this book, and the relationship with Nicole. It seemed so natural for them to start as friends and progress to love. I loved the writing in this book, and although the ending was somewhat frustrating, it was worth the read.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

As stories go, this one was capable of holding my interest, but only barely. After awhile, the formulaic nature of such stories makes your ability to remain invested in the progression of its characters a lot tougher.

Mason and Nicole were both likable as people, but their journey to each other wasn't believable. As chance encounters go, theirs was straight out of a fairy tale--one of the Hard 'R' variety.

Honestly, after the gazillionth reference to Mason's "hotness", it was like ENOUGH ALREADY. I get it. He's hot. She's always ready when he shows up. Move along.

The above, in a nutshell, may be why it took me two days to finish the book. I just REALLY didn't care how much lusting Nicole was able to do over this man. Furthermore, the central conflict, which kept them apart for a while, could've been so easily remedied with a simple conversation: I mean, if the "love" was so deep, why did they both need to be knocked over the head to act on their feelings.

End of the day, it was a simple story with a couple of simple people.

Loved this super sweet and sexy rock star romance! I read this as a standalone and really enjoyed it but would like to read the other books in this series as well!

I Need You Tonight is the third story in Stina Lindenblatt's Pushing Limits series. This is the story of drummer Mason Dell and Nicole McCormick, his best friend's sister.
Mason is a recovered gambling addict while Nicole's father was a gambler whose gambling destroyed his family.
This story is well structured and deals with issues around gambling and its impact on both the gambler and their family but through an entertaining story. Written in the first person the story is told from both Mason's and Nicole's points of view. Mostly this works and the result is a nicely paced story.
I know this is the last of the three book series, and the epilogue ties up the loose ends for all the couples, but personally I found the epilogue long-winded and unnecessary. Apart from that, I enjoyed this story.

I Need You Tonight is a sweet, sexy rock star romance. It's the the second in this series that I've read, and just as good, if not better than My Song for You, which is the other one I've read.

Mason is the drummer for Pushing Limits. He's a good guy with a past that he doesn't like to tell people about. When his best friend, Zack, asks him for a favor - check on Zack's younger sister, Nicole, Mason can't do it fast enough. After all, Zack is really the only family he has left, aside from his band, and he owes him his life, so he's only happy to go check on Nicole. When he and Nicole meet again, the attraction is instantaneous. But, Mason knows better than to start something with his best friend's little sister. And when Nicole details her perfect guy - one with a good, steady job, and no addictions like her father's gambling addiction - he knows starting something with her would be a really bad idea. But, their chemistry is soon overtaking any good sense and soon the two are engaged in a good ol' FWB situation that extends to Nicole's time with the band as she goes to work for them.

The crash, though, and I knew there would be one, was brutal, and I was feeling for both Mason and Nicole as they dealt with all the emotions that come with things like that. But then there was the ending, I loved it. It was wrapped up so sweetly, and it was good to see a peek into their future. I can't wait for more of this series!

I haven’t realized I have been missing and I was craving the Pushing Limits boys until this one came along. And it came with a bang!

I Need You Tonight is the third installment in the unique music Pushing Limits series. After swimming in the crystal-turquoise depth of Nolan and Jared’s love stories in This One Moment and My Song For You (book 1 & book 2) respectively, now the turn to tell his love story belongs to Mason, the band’s dark skinned drummer.

“My talents go beyond being a drummer extraordinaire.”, I winked at her.

The story goes like this; An old friend of Mason’s calls him asking him to go check on his little sister who has been MIA for quite a few days and she doesn’t pick up her phone. Mason makes the trip and, instead of the petite girl he was remembering, he sets his eyes on the grown up and beautiful woman she has become. After staying with her for a few days to “relax” before their tour begins, he makes her a business proposition to join them and help them with their image. But no one could have guessed the rest.

There are so many many things that I loved about this story. But let me take it from the start otherwise my feelings will take over and then the review will match my mind; a knot. First of all, Logan. My God, that kid. I simply wanted to jump into the book and squeesh his cheeks and hug him to death. Then, there is the use of a different, darker skin type on Mason. I know that there are other books out there whose characters have other skin type, but since I have come across a few of them, each time that I get to read on, I cherish it all the most for this special feature.

I Need You Tonight was a gripping, poignant and sexy forbidden romance. I hadn't read the first books but was pulled in right from the start. Mason has a debt to pay to his good friend Zach. So when Zach asks him to check on his sister, Mason doesn't hesitate. Nicole is at home after another bad date in her pj's, watching Die Hard, and eating ice cream. Mason is drawn to the sexy woman, the normal life and the chance to feel useful. He becomes enamored with the town, the people, and even the dog next door. Nicole is intelligent, hard working, fun, and sexy and Mason can't walk away. Nicole has her list of the perfect man to make sure she doesn't fall for someone like her father. Mason doesn't meet any of them, but she can't seem to stop lusting after the kind, handy, sexy tattooed rocker. The more time they spend together, the deeper they fall. They have fun together, challenge each other, and their chemistry is off the charts. But Mason has a past and secrets he's keeping that could destroy it all.
Ms Lindenblatt makes us feel deeply for these characters, caring about what is happening in their lives, and wanting the very best for them. I really loved both Mason and Nicole, the growth of their relationship was so genuine, and believable. Their journey is filled with twists and turns and some huge bumps so when you think it is smooth sailing you hit a fork in the road! That is what made this story so fun, emotional and engaging. If you want to really feel every emotion from love & laughter to sorrow & heartbreak, and everything in between, then you definitely need to read this book!

Kris – ☆☆☆☆
Third book in the Pushing Limits story and this one is Mason's, the drummer for the up and coming rock band Pushing Limits. Mason has had his fair share of issues before his stint as the hottest rock band's drummer. After a gambling addiction left him penniless and desperate, Mason tries to end it all. Thankfully, his best friend saves him from himself and Mason gets his life back on track. When that friend asks Mason to check on his sister for him, well, Mason isn't going to refuse. Doesn't hurt that Nicole is easy on the eyes. The two enjoy each other’s company and Mason is really loving the sedate life while the band is on break from touring. Hanging out with Nicole in a domestic bubble and fixing up her house is really a balm on Mason's soul.

There were some wonderful steamy moments and some tender ones too, but I experienced disconnect from Mason and Nicole. Never really getting too invested in their story. Written well but slightly formulaic. Sweet ending that made me smile, this book was still worth the read.

So – simple premise. Rock star falls for his friend’s little sister, helps her sort out her life, and brings her on the road so she can enjoy the excitement of his celebrity lifestyle. I love a good rock star romance, but Mason and Nicole owe their relationship to a supersize helping of cosmic good fortune and readers will have to consciously suspend all disbelief if they want to believe in this couple’s happily ever after.

By the third or fourth chapter, Mason fulfilled one too many female fantasies and I was struggling to see him as an actual person. He’s a humble rock star who is loyal to an old friend, he’s a handsome shoulder to cry on, he’s handy around the house, he’s good with kids. And Nicole is that rock star novel stalwart – the pure and good girl next door, the opposite of the predatory groupies who stalk Mason. Urgh.

I like Nicole as a small business owner at the start of the book but I hate the way she allows Mason to reshape her identity so he can keep her close. The sex between these two is hot, but their agreed ‘no sex on the road’ limit dials down the heat pretty quickly.

It turns out that Nicole has overcome a difficult childhood and Mason shares the same addiction that ruined her life once before. But again, this storyline resolves itself far too easily. Addictions are never this simple and I’m not sure a rock star has ever been so self-sacrificing.

And honestly – the ending? Cavity inducing. The author crafts a most unlikely suburban picket fence utopia for this band of rock stars. Weddings and babies and lashings of music industry awards... The result is almost emasculating and it’s certainly not how I envisioned this series ending.

Ultimately, this is family friendly, rock-star-light romance. This is romance writing for former high school cheerleaders stuck at home in new subdivisions with whiny toddlers and flailing marriages. Mason is everything their boring and disinterested husbands aren’t and Nicole has the life they once wished they’d have.

...And I’ve realised that I’m being a complete bitch. This wasn’t a story I really enjoyed but I’d advise readers to download a sample and decide for themselves.

This is the third book in the series. Ms. Lindenblatt has covered a variety of plots, so there has been a new story each time, and involving a different band member.

In this installment we start strongly, with Nicole being another interesting female lead. But whilst when she was working and single she was a strong woman, it seems that Mason is her kryptonite, as she sadly loses her backbone far too fast. And when the sweet and sexy goes south, there are some serious twists needed to resolve the situation and make everything right again.

If you like your male leads to be swoon-worthy but also soft, and reality to be bent to fit the romance, then this is definitely a story which will work for you.

This book is good, but I didn't love it like I have the others in the series. There were inconsistencies that kept pulling me out of the story. I still look forward to the next book. I posted a review on Goodreads.

I've been a big fan of Lindenblatt's Pushing Limits series so I was excited to read Mason's story. While it's part of a series, it can absolutely be read as a standalone. Mason is a bad boy rockstar who has a dark past yet he has a softer side that I loved--he's humble and he's loyal which is why he and Nicole cross paths. Nicole is looking for the perfect man and Mason is the opposite of what she wants. What begins as a friendship quickly turns into a friends with benefits type of deal. Mason and Nicole are seriously hot together! Secrets are revealed and emotions run high but Lindenblatt wraps the series up in a way that will satisfy readers.

3.5 Stars

Mason Dell owes his life to his best friend Zack, who is in the navy, so when he gets an urgent request to check in on his friend's little sister who is MIA he does so without question. Nicole McCormick is all about making sure her flower shop/boutique is a success and answering her personal phone is not always a priority. When Mason and Nicole have an instant connection can their desire to pursue it overcome individual troubled past that linger?

Stina Lindenblatt's third book in her Pushing Limits series, I Need You Tonight, takes on Mason Dell, the band's drummer and resident prankster. Mason put on a happy, carefree front but underneath there was a world of pain. Ms. Lindenblatt did a good job of showing Mason's inner conflicts with his various addictions as well as his longing to move past them and reach for happiness with Nicole. Triggers were scattered throughout this plot culminating in a major relapse for Mason. This couple grew on a solid foundation that enabled Nicole to try and be supportive, rather than flee, when Mason collapsed despite her own history with an addict. There were lots of intense moments and extreme behaviors throughout this story but as a whole it worked. Strong writing carried this book and it's characters to a hard earned good place and a solid conclusion for Pushing Limits, making it a series to explore!

At the time I’m writing this, I literally just finished reading it last night. At 12:30am. Which may not be late by reader-trying-to-finish-book standards, but it was pretty late for me on that particular day.
I Need You Tonight was something I picked up on a whim after it was pitched to me. It sounded like a fun, entertaining read. And lets be honest, I haven’t read about too many rock stars lately, so you could say I was in need of some troubled musicians.
I Need You Tonight was everything I thought it would be – fun, entertaining, light-hearted and perfect for sitting pool-side, with the sun shining on your face.
You could say that I have quite the fascination with rock star heroes. In fact, I’m in the midst of outlining a post about my favorite rock stars… and I’m only now realizing just how much I love them Although rock stars are lovely creatures that always have a great story (Nalini Singh’s Rock Kiss series is a shining example of this), there does tend to be a repetition to them.
Usually, the male is a womanizer. Adored by thousands – millions.
Heroine has trouble coping with that.
But after he meets heroine, there is no more groupies for him.
She still has trouble coping with the number of panties thrown at his head.
But he just wants to play music, right? Sure, at first he loves the women throwing themselves at him. But he’s in it for the music.
The female often pretends to be part of the crew so she can tour with him.
Something happens. Usually a scandal or a groupie misunderstanding or something of the sort.
She runs.
He chases.
The life’s not for her – but she refuses to make him choose between his music and her.
He tries to convince  her otherwise.
Sometimes it works
Most of the time it doesn’t, and they part ways for awhile.
But they can’t live without each other anymore.
She realizes that she is in love with him *gasp*
A grand gesture is made. Perhaps she goes to one of his touring stops, or he does something romantic.
They are together forever and make cute little rock star babies.
This does tend to be the general formula for rock star romances, and I was pleasantly surprised when this book took a little turn from the normal formula – it was completely unexpected, shocking, and it worked. But maybe it was a little unnecessary? No, that’s just my bias. I liked the ending. I just struggle with it. The ending was the right thing for the characters – just not for this fangirl.
Nicole and Mason were an adorable couple, and I was really pleased with the way their romance played out. They got time together in the beginning, doing the domestic-and-adorable thing in the beginning, before the craziness of touring hit. The way it was set up really allowed the reader to get invested in their romance, and made the changes in touring all the more stark.
The only thing I wish was different about this book was the band camaraderie. This is the third book in the Pushing the Limits series, and I haven’t read the first two because I was assured you could read this as a standalone. And, you can. However, the band was a huge part of Mason’s life, and I feel we didn’t get a lot of that aspect in this book. Maybe that’s because that connection was already built up in previous books and because I haven’t read them, I didn’t get it. But Mason has toured with those three guys for years – lived, breathed and slept in the same rooms together for months at a time. They were in a band. They were non-blood brothers, and I didn’t really get that from their interactions. I got that they were close, yeah, but I wish the book had centered less around Mason-and-Nicole, and more on Mason-and-Nicole-and-also-three-other-guys-living-in-the-same-damn-bus-and-bonding-and-ribbing. There should have been more interactions and less obliviousness towards each other. I had a hard time believing the other three guys were quite so oblivious towards the couple, as well as Mason’s problems as a whole. I mean, come on. Maybe the last one. But the first one? No way.
Overall, I really loved Mason and Nicole as a couple. They were adorable, had great chemistry and they just worked together really well.  I feel the book was a bit stretched out as far as their romance goes, though. While reading, I figured I was reaching the end and when I checked, I was only 47% through. Major Miscalculation.
If you’re looking for that action-packed book that will grab you and drag you into the story, maybe you slap you around a bit and not let you go until The End, this isn’t it. This won’t send you on an emotional roller coaster, or make you completely obsessed.
What it is, is a sweet, fluffy, lazy read. It’s the perfect pool-side entertainment that you could set down at any point, take a dip, take a snooze, eat some shrimp, and come back to later. I would definitely recommend this adorable read, and would very much suggest you take a look at this steamy snippet below

Pushing Limits drummer, Mason is sent to check on his best friend’s sister to make sure she is ok since she hadn’t been answering her phone like normal. As Mason finds out she is more than ok and the two of them feel the energy that goes between them. The question is how much they are going to fight the attraction between them. Mason is more of a one and done type of guy since they are touring all the time and Nicole works so much that she doesn’t have time for guys…especially the ones her friends try to set her up with. I think I’d swear off guys too if they picked the same guys for me! Can two people who are dealing with so much between them learn to live with their past and future and is this something they can figure out together on a tour bus?

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley for a freely given and honest review.

This book was ok. I hadn't read the previous installments but I didn't feel lost. My main issue was every scenario was so contrived. From how they met to how they got to know each other. I also thought it was odd how they said "I love you but we knew this was never going to work" and just kept popping up and saying I love you to each other. And although I didn't read the previous books, it felt really odd that he would leave the band for her because it never seemed like he didn't love it
