This was a lovely read, it was a genuinely heart-warming tale that leaves you feeling all warm and cosy.  I thoroughly enjoyed the story and whilst this is the first book that I have read by Laura, I now want to read the other books in the series and am certain that this won’t be the last.  This book is fine to be read as a stand alone, I hadn’t read the other books in the series and don’t think I missed out – it flowed very well and was an easy read – 4 stars from me for this one!

Leave the Night On is the 4th book in the Cottonbloom series but the first book I've read in it and it felt like a book #1 in a series. I was actually surprised when I noticed it wasn't because I felt like I was being introduced to the characters and never felt like I had missed anything from a previous book.

This book centers around Wyatt who is an auto mechanic who is also breaking into the car restoration business. He works in a family owned garage with his 3 brothers and has known Sutton since they were kids. In fact, he had a crush on her when he was younger but showed it by teasing her mercilessly so Sutton has a very different view of their childhood relationship. Sutton is from the other side of the river and the daughter of a judge and hasn't seen Wyatt in years. When she drops off her fiance's car to have it restored she discovers her fiance has been cheating on her when she helps Wyatt clean out the car and Wyatt is so sweet and protective of her that the two form a bond. When Sutton is faced with her fiance and the other woman she tells them that she has been seeing someone else as well and then enlists Wyatt's help so no one will know she made it up.

I really loved Wyatt. He is sweet, sexy, protective but with a bit of an edge as well. While I liked Sutton I'll be honest she isn't my favorite heroine and a bit to concerned with what other people think for me. However, she was also sweet and caring and has a big capacity for forgiveness. Although I didn't always like the fact that she was so unsure of herself and even Wyatt I could understand it after finding out that two of the people you trust the most had betrayed you. I can see how that made her not believe in her own ability to judge people and that it would be hard to trust again. I liked the slow burn relationship between the two of them and I found it sweet and believable.

The small town feel of the community was wonderful and I feel a little in love with both Mack and Jackson and I can't help but hate Ford and wonder how the author will eventually redeem him. I very much enjoyed the writing style and will definitely go back and read the previous books in this series as well as look forward to the future books that will no doubt feature Wyatt's brothers.

This was a great, fun, well-written book. Sutton catches her fiance cheating and starts to re-evaluate her life. Wyatt has had a crush on Sutton since they were kids. Sutton comes up with an idea to get even with her fiance and asks Wyatt to pretend to be her lover. Could there be something real to it? This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is part of a series with related characters. The characters were sweet and engaging. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more books in this series as well as others by this author.

Leave the Night On, written by Laura Trentham, is the fourth book in the Cottonbloom series. This book can be read as a standalone, however, I strongly recommend reading the previous books in this series. In this latest addition to the series, the author introduces us the four Abbott brothers that own Abbott Brothers Garage and Restoration. This story is about Wyatt Abbott, but I'm sure future releases will feature the other brothers.

Sutton Mize co-owns Abigail's Boutique, an upscale boutique that caters to the wealthy residents of Cottonbloom, Mississippi. She is trying to find the perfect engagement present for her fiance, Andrew Tarwater. She finally comes up with the perfect gift...she brings his red convertible Camaro to Abbott Brothers Garage and Restoration to have the interior completely redone. Before leaving, Sutton and Wyatt Abbott check the car for any personal items left in it, and that's when Wyatt finds a black lace thong under the seat. Unfortunately, Sutton immediately knows it is not her thong, but she does know who she sold it to...her best friend since first grade, Bree Randall.

Wyatt has not seen Sutton in eighteen years, and he still thinks she is just as beautiful as she was so many years ago. He has heard all about the wedding of the year...the wedding between Sutton and Andrew. However, after finding the black lace thong stuffed under the seat of her fiance's Camaro, the wedding of the year may have just been cancelled.

Once again, this is a great addition to the Cottonbloom series. I was hooked from the opening paragraph until the very last. I loved the characters in this story...especially Wyatt. Wyatt is just a sweetheart, plain and simple. There were a few times I questioned why he put up with Sutton, but then again, love has you often doing things you normally would not do. Sutton took a bit longer to grow on me, but the more that was revealed, the more I liked her. I truly felt for her when she found out her fiance was cheating. Like a lot of women, the warning signs were there, but she was in denial. Andrew's betrayal was bad enough, but to find out that betrayal also was by her best friend was just truly heartbreaking for Sutton.

Overall, I was captivated throughout the entire story and felt the flow was a perfect pace. I read the book in one sitting, and almost hated when it ended. I love the addition of the Abbott brothers to this series, and look forward to reading their stories in future releases. I would definitely recommend this book, as well as the previous books in the series!

Thank you to St Martin's Press and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book. My views are my own and are in no way influenced by anyone else.

Chemistry explodes when Ms. Prim and Proper meets Sexy Bad Boy! Really enjoyed this story! It was exciting, sweet and oh so sensual! From the very beginning you're drawn in to see what will become of Sutton's situation, and as she and Wyatt spend more and more time together, you really fall for them as a couple.

Native to Cottonbloom, Sutton Mize has a ritzy boutique on the uppity Mississippi side of the river where she caters to the upper class she's part of. When she ventures to the other side of the river to take her fiance's prized classic car in for some work, she makes a shocking discovery ... panties belonging to her own best friend in HER fiance's car!

Wyatt Abbott sees the look of devastation on Sutton's face when he pulls the item out of the car and he sets out to do anything he can to help her. He might be from the lowly Louisiana side of the river, but he had a huge crush on her years ago, and the chemistry is alive and well as soon as he sets sights on her again. When Sutton decides to strike out with some revenge of her own, he agrees to pretend to date her all around town. Each time they are together, they find themselves fighting attraction and soon their dating is more real than either of them is ready to admit!

Laura Trentham has turned into on of my all-time favorite authors. I just love her books and when I see a new one being published I get all excited. I just can't help myself.

I have to admit this was one of my favorite romances of the year. For some reason the characters and their story really stood out to me. I just loved them and wanted them to find all the happiness they could.

These two really deserved it.

I think you'll really enjoy both Sutton (great name) and Wyatt. They both are truly nice people. You can tell right away that the last thing they'd do is hurt someone. From the beginning I cheered them on!

What started out as a slip of the tongue turned into the talk of the town, two towns in this case! You can't help feeling for Sutton. No one deserves to be betrayed by their best friend, of course I see this as they were really never your best friend or they couldn have done this to you. Plus, would you want to be friends with someone of such lower character? Nope!!

The only (really one) of the good things that came out of this is that she lost the asshole and got a Wyatt!

Oh Wyatt! Love you and your messed up family. I really can't wait for all their stories. I hope the author is listening, from what I could tell there are a ton of Abbott's in this family. I'm in heaven thinking about all the stories I could have.

From page one you won't want to stop reading Leave the Night On. It's full of everything you'd want in a romance. Great characters, love, friendship, humor, you've got it all. Did I mention family conflict and cheating assholes? My bad, you can't forget those things.

I've really enjoyed this new addition to the Cottonbloom series. Do yourselves a favor and read the series in order. It really helps to build the story line that runs through the series. Not to worry, it's the perfect end of summer reading.

Try this one if you're looking for a dance between two people who you know will ultimately get together. Wyatt and Sutton aren't an obvious match but they have a history when they decide to give Sutton's fiancé a taste of his own medicine. This isn't the smartest plan in the world, imho, but it's the underlying plot here and that's not a bad thing. It's breezily written with enough of the steamy stuff. Thanks to net galley for the ARC. Try this one for a late summer beach book or a relaxing read on the couch. I had to read the earlier books in the series but that didn't matter a whit.

I wasn't sure what I was going to think of this first of all, but leave the night on is a clever play on words for the title of this book. I immediately liked the characters of Wyatt's two aunts , Hazel and Hyacinth.
I did not like Bree. There is a cute plot. The story is set in the fictional town of Cottonbloom which lies on the Mississippi River on the border between Mississippi and Louisiana. Wyatt has a family business called Abbott Brothers Garage and Restoration which he runs with his twin brotherJackson. His nemesis is his other brother, Ford . The boys' mother left the family when they were young and Wyatt has some painful memories of her.
The other main character is Sutton Mize , who comes from the wealthier Mississippi side of the river. She works as a dressmaker and designer at a shop called Abigail's Boutique. The author does a great job of introducing the characters slowly but in a way in which we know Who's Who in the story and get some background on them. Sutton and Wyatt have known each other since childhood and we get a sense of what is like to meet again after years. Sutton drives her boyfriend's car into Wyatt's workshop upset and angry because she has just found some underwear in the car that is not hers but her best friend's.

Sutton quickly devises a plan to get back at Adam for his affair, and ends her friendship with Bree. Sutton's aim is to get back at Adam and Bree, and Wyatt is part of her plan. It is interesting to see how Wyatt and Sutton rekindle their friendship from years ago.

The book is a very quick read, but is extremely well paced and the story is realistic. There were some incredibly sensual and sexual scenes. What is what I like about this book is the fact that the author takes a seemingly simple plot and gives it her own personal interpretation, which turned out to make leave the night on a pleasurable read for me. Leave the night on is a book in which past and present relationships are explored, family secrets are talked about, and which has a very romantic core.

Thanks to NetGalley and Laura Trenton for my advance copy of this smalltown romance. I was also invited by the publisher, St Martin's press, to write a blog tour post for this book. Thank you very much to them for this opportunity. The book has made me curious to read more of Laura Trentham's books.

What a wild ride I had while reading Leave the Night On by Laura Trentham, book four in her Cottonbloom series. Sutton Mize owns a boutique selling dresses and lingerie to the wealthy women of her Mississippi town. Wyatt Abbott has crushed on Sutton since he was a youngster. He was with Sutton when she discovers her fiancé has been cheating on her with her best friend with lots of evidence found in the fiancé’s classic red Camaro. To save face, Sutton tells the two cheaters that she’s been seeing Wyatt while knowing they were cheating.

As Wyatt and Sutton show the towns they are together as they fake date, feelings actually do begin as the chemistry between these two builds. Sutton needs to learn to not be so nice and worry about what others think as well as allowing herself to have some fun. Wyatt has his own demons to deal with, including dealings with his oldest brother. Sutton had so much difficulty knowing her mind that it made it difficult to sympathize with her at times. Those times made me feel badly for Wyatt.

I really enjoyed reading this wonderful book and highly recommend this book to other readers. Although part of a series, this is a stand-alone story.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Leave the Night On by Laura Trentham has all the feels; it’s a sweet tug-at-your-heartstrings friends to lovers romance with an engaging heroine and a kind, sexy hero. The honest conversations between Sutton Mize and Wyatt Abbott are exquisitely written. The storyline in Leave The Night On is perfectly paced and plotted; the story and its characters stayed with me for days.
Sutton Mize brings her fiancés car to Wyatt Abbott’s garage to be restored. While cleaning the car, Wyatt finds restaurant receipts and a sexy, black thong embroidered with a heart. Sutton recognizes the thong as it was special ordered item from her clothing store. She’s crushed when she puts the pieces together; her fiancé has been cheating on her with her best friend! I loved the scene when Sutton confronts her fiancé and best friend – she stays cool, calm and collected when she is told she is boring. Sutton explains that she’s been seeing someone, too—Wyatt! Sutton developed self-confidence and purpose as her relationship with Wyatt deepened.
Wyatt gave up a college scholarship to work with his brothers in the family garage. He is the peacekeeper in the family- the brothers don’t agree on how to run the day to day operations or how to increase the lucrative restoration piece of the business. The friendship and trust between Sutton and Wyatt is apparent when Sutton shows up at Wyatt’s with a homemade dinner after he texted her cancelled their date. The chemistry between the two characters exploded in the next few scenes.

Leave the Night on exceeded my expectations! The unique characters, complicated family dynamics and small town southern feeling appealed to me. Family and community are important to both Sutton and Wyatt. The author does a fabulous job threading Wyatt’s brother Ford throughout the novel. Was Ford trying to get new business for the garage or was he secretly looking to sell his share of the business without giving his brothers the opportunity to buy him out? Loved the characters of Hazel and Hyacinth and their relationship with the Abbott brothers.
Kudos to Laura Trentham – Leave The Night On is an amazing read—perfect for reader who love a small town romance with engaging characters, family drama and a bit of mystery!
Am looking forward to the next book in this series!

Leave the Night On is a well written small town romance. I loved the southern Mississippi setting and really enjoyed the author's writing. I anticipate reading more of her books in the future.

I love small town romances and I really enjoyed Sutton and Wyatt's story along with all the other characters. The book was so good that I will continue with this series because their are so many other people I want to get to know more about. Also, I do want to mention that I did read out of order but surprisingly I was not lost at all.

Sutton Mize definitely needed the lights on to see her fiancée as he truly is in Leave The Night On by Laura Trentham. This is small town drama, probably more realistic in that the bad is shown as well as the good. There is cheating in this story but it is not by the two main characters, though the gist is that Sutton Mize wanted her fiancée to think that had happened. That did not endear her to me.

The town of Cottonbloom has plenty of Dallas drama which gives the residents plenty to talk about even if it is not true. As the story progresses Sutton grows on me so that I want her and Wyatt to find true love together. She may be the upper class with Wyatt as working class but in my eyes, he is the better class.

Cute story that seemed a bit predictable. The most unpredictable events were with Sutton, her ex and her former best friend.

I love visiting the quirky small town of Cottonbloom. The town and the people always come alive for me. Leave the Night On was no different. The story was full of love, both the romantic and platonic kind. It was sweet and touching and I loved both MCs right from the get-go.

Quick Summary:
Wyatt has always had a crush on Sutton Mize but he’s a small town mechanic and she’s the daughter of a prominent Judge. Their adult lives don’t cross paths until fate throws them together. Saving Sutton is Wyatt’s chance to get to know the girl he thought he never had a chance with.

Sutton always thought Wyatt didn't like her when they were younger, but the Wyatt that comes to her rescue is a man with profound depths she can't resist exploring. It's the wrong time to jump into a relationship so suddenly after her last disaster, but Sutton is done being safe, she's ready to take a wild risk.

The role of forgiving nice girl who never rocked the boat would have to go to her understudy tonight. Not only was she going to rock the boat, she planned to blow the mother-flipping thing to smithereens.

What starts as a business arrangement between them to save face and help Wyatt's family garage turns into something much more complicated. Pretty soon Wyatt and Sutton are knee deep in emotions and the clock is ticking down the minutes to the end of their temporary relationship.

Can Wyatt show Sutton he's ready to settle down, with her? Or will Sutton let her past cloud her chance at a real HEA with Wyatt? Lol, this is Cottonbloom, so although the ending is predictable, the road leading to that sweet ending will have some unexpected twists!

What I loved:
Sutton and Wyatt were great MCs. They complimented each other and I loved their easy, almost instinctive trust and emotional pull. Not to say they didn't have enough heat, because they generate some crazy intense heat between the sheets - just saying! Their romance was not without it's bumps but it was worth it in the end.

There are three more Abbott brothers waiting in the wings that will hopefully have their own stories soon! Mack was intriguing, Jackson and Willa - I'm anxious to read ASAP! and Ford, well idk how I feel about him . . . lets just say, he needs to be redeemed but I have faith LT will be able to pull it off!

A few things felt off for me . . .
The whole Bree thing, I felt Sutton was way too easy on her, not only because of what she did and with who, but the selfish way she behaved after the fact. I didn't buy into her remorse, she was just a terrible person and I wanted Sutton to break all ties with her. Granted this isn't Sutton's style but still I wanted less Bree time all around.

Something else that stuck out as odd to me because the behavior felt so out of place, was Sutton's reaction to Ford baiting Wyatt at the gala. It was odd because she and Wyatt had always been upfront about their situation. The fact that they had just cleared the water and she was finally ready to take that next step with Wyatt, only to over-react (in my opinion) to Ford's accusations was a bit frustrating for me. TBH I was already a bit miffed with the way she had left things with Wyatt before this, so my frame of mind was not very forgiving when she puts him out of his misery and than soon after, pushes him away. Again.

Lucky for me, the drama was downplayed and not drawn out for drama's sake. It was low angst and except for those few hiccups, I really liked Sutton and loved Wyatt. Can't wait to stop by and visit Cottonbloom again soon with Jackson and Willa's story next!!!

This was my first book by Laura Trentham. How did I miss her before? It says this is the fourth book in the Cottonbloom series, so I've got to go back and catch up. I really liked her writing style, the plot and the characters. Not only were the main character, Sutton and Wyatt likable, but the secondary characters were also fun to get to know. Wyatt brother's had the "not always so harmonious" thing going on, just like any family. They really gave Wyatt a hard time, but for the most part had his back as well. Sutton's parents were very supportive of her in a way that even surprised me. Her best friend definitely broke the best friend code, but even she was redeeming herself by the end of the book.
Wyatt was just a sweetheart (as well as super sexy) from the very beginning of the book. He takes a moment that could have been the complete demolition of Sutton's dignity and really tried to help her through it. He stepped up to the plate immediately and I loved him for that! Their love/hate relationship from their childhood added another layer to the plot. It was kind of amusing that Sutton had never figured out that all the "evil things" that young Wyatt had done to her were stemming from his puppy love for her.
All in all, a great small town romance with great characters, steamy sex and the heart and romance to send me back for more!

I was given an ARC of this book by the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest opinion. All opinions are my own.
What would you do if the mechanic who is about to start work restoring your fiancé’s car pulls out a lacy thong from beneath the front seat of said car? What if said tiny scrap of underwear didn’t belong to you, but you knew exactly who the owner was? Not forgetting that you were about to send out your wedding invitations…..
This is precisely the situation that Sutton Mize finds herself in at the outset of the new romantic novel from Laura Trentham. The garage is on the opposite side of the river to her own home and is a family business run by the Abbott brothers, all whom Sutton remembers from her childhood. But today Sutton needs to keep her head held high having just realised that fiancé, lawyer Andrew Tarwater is having an affair rather too close to home. So the obvious thing to do on confronting the guilty parties, if you are Sutton Mize, is to say that you have been having an affair yourself with…with…..the man who has just offered you support and comfort. This man is Wyatt Abbott, mechanic.
I don’t want to give away too many spoilers but…..put into the mixing pot the rich girl, daughter of local Judge; the grease monkey attractive, muscled and sensitive; the self absorbed, double crossing lawyer and fiancé; the “best” friend; and a sprinkling of family histories with a run-away mother, a superstition about the family line of Abbott twins and some very extreme weather conditions – you have the makings of a perfect chick lit romance novel!
I love a good old romance as much as the next person, but I always worry that there will be no character development and that the lead figures (particularly the women) will end up annoying me. Not meaning to sound too pompous here, but there are some of those English literature lessons that I can’t shake off! But I am pleased to say that Sutton proves herself to be more than just the pretty faced daughter of the local states man! She is a savvy business woman with a hidden talent that her estranged sister and Wyatt help to nurture and her personality goes from strength to strength. Wyatt also develops through the course of the book and I loved the relationship with his slightly eccentric twin aunts, which ran alongside his with his own twin and brothers.
If you are looking for a book to stick in your suitcase for a great summer read, this could be the one! There seem to be enough a loose ends for the story to continue……Ms Trentham, do you have another up your sleeve?
For me this was a light hearted enjoyable 4 star read!
