The promise of this story is finally fulfilled for me: the tension, growth and repeated twists and turns were perfectly timed and kept me glued to the story until the end. And while there still is no real resolution on the overall conflict, so many things surprised and delighted me with this story: and many of the questions and concerns that I had from the earlier installments, new questions appeared, and surprisingly I found some kinder feelings for a formerly despicable character. This is not a series that is yet complete, and as each book picks up where the last left off – you need to read these in order. But, this is my favorite of the three so far, and I am finding myself desperate for the next and final.
See, Emily and Shane are still growing closer and their moments together are full of that emotion and sweetness. The kindness and caring that they show for one another, the steam that emanates from them, and even the reliance on the presence and quiet moments together adds yet another layer to their already palpable connection. But Shane and Derek are still jockeying for control of the family company, but something surprising happens: I found that with a bit more insight into Derek that I was feeling something more than an abject skin crawl when he appeared. No, he has not reformed, or become even marginally more intriguing, but add in some backstory and give him reasons why he chose the path he now walks, and I could see more of him beyond the ‘ick’ factor. Oh, I still don’t love him by any stretch, but you see how a situation can be viewed and responded to differently depending on personality.
Quiet moments are quickly shattered with the next twist and the constant up and down keep readers in a constant state of tension. Extrapolate that to the characters (yes I know it’s fiction) and the emotions are heightened even further, demanding that the page be turned to see what other changes and twists are to come. With yet another ending that had me wailing nooooooo (quietly in my head, mostly) the story still has a few questions left to answer, and undoubtedly more challenges before the end.
I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

The exciting and thrilling saga of Brandon Family continues. The story picks off right where it left off in book 2 Damage Control and it get more intense and heavy by each page. Shane is struggling to get the mafia out of their family business while his brother Derek is determined to keep them involved for more than just business reasons. His relationship with Theresa is bringing out the real Derek whom I got to like more and more. She makes him open up and act like a real person instead of the hard and nasty man we were first introduced to.
Shane and Emily are stronger than ever and I find it hard to believe that anything could break those two apart even for a second. The involvement of the mafia was a brilliant move from the author because they brought so much intensity, danger and heat to the already amazing mix. Brandon senior is showing that he too still cares about his family and wants them all to keep together one way or another. He may be dying but he is not going down without a fight. I was also positively surprised by the turn of the events regarding the mother who came clean with her sins and is trying her best to rectify them and stand her ground.
This book is NOT a standalone and you need to read first two books to be able to follow the story. It’s told mostly from Shane and Emily’s POV but there are also a few surprise chapters with other characters that were the icing on the cake. Book also ends with a BIG boom of a cliffhanger and gets you thinking all these different kind of explanations of what happened and most importantly to whom.
I liked this story, I truly did and a lot of things kept me on edge pretty much all the time. This plot is carefully created and I can imagine this being on TV as a series that would capture many viewer’s hearts. It’s been a while since I read previous books so the “Intro” at the beginning with the characters was another smart and great move from Lisa Renee Jones and I thank her for that. And it really warmed my heart to see a family that was falling apart at the start come together and stand up for each other and showed that there was still love there to grow on.
But… what I didn’t like was that ALL the focus was on the Brandon family and none on Emily in my opinion at least. I desired and expected to read more about her past and the estranged brother. Will he turn up and explain himself? Will Emily be able to be her true self again without the need to hide?
I am looking forward to The End game and hope to get more answers.
Narration: Grace Grant and Jeremy York were the narrators of this book and they both did a good job. Jeremy more than Grace at times because I had hard time listening and believe in her storytelling. More emotions are needed in some situations.
I received this book via NetGalley.com.
When Bad Deeds hit my kindle I couldn't wait to read it. Yet what I found the further I got into the book, I had to slow down. I had to make this book last. Why you ask? Because I know Lisa is going to throw me a twist or two that will have me on pin and needles until the next installment. (She did not disappoint!) So when I reached the last chapter I had to know but I didn't want it to be over. Lisa delivered me another heart stopping moment. Now I must wait, and try to keep my sanity as I wait to see what will happen next. Please tell me that End Game is coming soon.
Lisa Renee Jones' writing is like an addiction that you just can't get enough of.
Emily and Shane have grabbed a hold of a bigger piece of my heart. I sometimes feel that Lisa's writing has made them real. Like one day I will see them in person, (just not right now, I would be afraid for my life.). Bad Deeds picked up on the series and took us to the next level. Even though some curtains have been dropped and we should trust certain characters now, I am not sure that I can. I love that Shane and Emily have a stronger bond by the moment. I can't wait for them to get a HEA. They so deserve it. AND I LOVE THERE SUPPORT FOR EACH OTHER....
Grab this series and binge read to catch up. Then we can wait together for End Game. It is going to be explosive I can feel it....
OMG, what a series, this is book 3 read others in order! Emily is hiding from her past and the killers her brother is involved with. Shane is dealing with the present, the drug cartel is brother and father have brought into the family business, they meet by chance over coffee. This is a love story with adventure ,suspense and lots of emotional moments. My only complaint, I have to wait for the next book!!! And the ending was a total surprise!!!
Bad Deeds is the best story of the series and certainly my favourite so far, and I absolutely loved every second of it. As this story has got more and more complex, interesting, and intriguing as its progressed. With all the lies, betrayals and truths that have been told. Bad Deeds really had it all and it was truly brilliant to read. It a!so kept me hooked from beginning to end and I really can't wait until January and the release of End Game.
The Dirty Money series by Lisa Renee Jones were my first reads from this author. I loved them so much I read all three in a matter of days! I bought copies to share with my friends and family. They are perfect summer vacation reads. Quick, dirty, sexy fun. I will be looking for my titles from this author.
Bad Deeds, book 3 in the Dirty Money series, picks up right where Damage Control ends. The intensity definitely gets turned up in this installment. It’s a fast-paced, suspenseful page turner. Emily and Shane continue to grow their relationship with their love strengthening them as a couple and individuals. Shane is all kinds of hot and Emily all kinds of sweetness and sass. The family dynamic continues to change and add to the story. New perspectives from Derek and Teresa give more insight and how they fit into the game that’s being played. Cody (Emily’s bodyguard) and Jessica (Shane’s assistant) turn up a little heat too. You get lulled into a sense of security and safety for Emily and Shane and the other characters and then it’s snatched right from under you with a cliffhanger that wasn’t expected. Come on End Game!
Wow! I loved this book! I've been enjoying this continuing story but I think this is my favorite so far! But holy cliffhanger Batman!! I was left emotionally reeling at the end of this book and will be counting the days until End Game comes out.
I just love Shane! I love everything about him from the strength he exudes to the sexiness that just rolls off him! He makes me want to sing "What a man, what a man, what a man, what a mighty good man!!"
Emily is a perfect match for him! She is 100% there for him in every way! The steamy sexy times and the adorable I love you counting is a nice distraction from the intensity of the main storyline!
I am also seeing Derek in a new light now.
So much is happening in this book I can't wait to see how it all ends!
Arc provided by Netgalley,

Bad Deeds was a fast-paced and exciting read, with a monumental cliff-hanger that left me breathless and incredulous.
Story:
Following straight after the ending of Damage Control, Bad Deeds is faster paced, and because I have gotten to know the characters much better, I was more involved as well. The danger is stronger, as is the rivalry between family members, until something happens to make a change. Emily is put in extreme danger and a situation she could never have seen coming. And the plot continues to thicken.
Characters:
Shane and Emily are still the main characters, however, the readers get more time with Derek, Seth and Jessica, which makes for a more even story in some ways.
Writing style :
First person present tense, with chapters from Emily's and Shane's point of view.
Feels :
The suspense! It was killing me! Bad Deeds made my heart almost beat out of my chest!
Omg that ending was insane. Shane & Emily are going strong but as the situation gets more dangerous can Shane really keep Emily safe? You have lies, betrayal, fear and love and seeing how the Brandon's were against each other now knowing they have to be a united front made me absolutely love this book. Characters I disliked now I like and I'm dying too know what happens next because that ending was brutal.
OMFG, this has to be the best book yet of the Dirty Money Series by Lisa Renee Jones. I finished this book in one day. I just couldn't put it down. Bad Deeds was a great combination of suspense/drama/action with emotion/love/romance and great sexy scenes. The Brandon family is a dysfunctional family but as time goes on it looks like they all have a little heart in them to try and work together for the sake of there family. I love Emily also she is the perfect match for Shane. I can't wait to get my hands on the next one. I needed it like yesterday the suspense of finding out how this story ends is to much. I received a ARC copy thru Net gallery and i am voluntarily writing my review.
4 1/2 Stars! WOW what a page turner! This is the 3rd book in the Dirty Money Series and if this is the 1st book you are reading, go back and start at the beginning because these books definitely continue and you won't be disappointed.
Shane and Emily's relationship is headed toward the next step, as they can't keep their hands off each other. It was nice to see another side of Derek (Shane's brother) ... maybe he's human after all. The twists and turns in this book ... what can I say! And at the end ... a cliffhanger that will make your chin hit the floor - did not see that coming AT ALL! The only downside is that now we have to wait until January to find out what happens! How can we be expected to wait that long ... REALLY?
I received an ARC copy courtesy of St. Martin's Press through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
Why? Why? Why? I am screaming and almost threw my device against the wall right now. LRJ, why would you give us an ending like this? Then we have to wait till 2018? Well, that just gives me the excuse to make some demands of my own. Absolutely Derek must not die, Cody either!!!!! I mean it. Okay, now am begging. Please.
To my fellow readers, please don't let the dreaded cliff hanger prevent you from reading this series. It is addictive, and scrumptious. There is not enough words to express my opinions. There is danger at every corner, and intrigue. Every character in this book is playing Russian roulette with death. Yet, there is hope and love. Don't let's forget the sex, plenty of that variety between Emily and Shane.
Wow, I have to say it again, wow, this one I found it incredible. This series, could actually be a mini-series in T.V., and I would totally watch. It has a little bit of everything, a couple of love stories, betrayals, violence, heartbreak. And yet again, we are left with a crazy as hell cliff-hanger.
This is the third book in this series by this author. Holy cow, what and ending !!!!! This book explains a lot of things from the first two books. Same fantastic characters as the first two books. I just couldn't put this book down and the entire series, I was hooked from the first page of book one. I was left speechless at the end. This is a fantastic series from an amazing author. It has everything, steamy romance, twist and turns and suspense. I can't wait to read more from this amazing author in the future.
Highly recommended
I voluntarily reviewed and advance reader copy of this book
As the third book in the Dirty Money series, Shane and Emily are battling to get the Martina cartel out of Brandon Enterprises while dear old pops is still got the cancer, mom is still acting like nothing is wrong and poor Derek is a loose cannon who's in love with the head of the cartel's sister.
As they battle the cartel, Shane is still having trouble including Emily into the world but she makes it know that she can handle it and the Brandon’s. Alliances will be made and just when you think you've got it figured out, more twist happen.
You get a better understanding for Derek in Bad Deeds and I sympathize with him. He feels like the son who can't do anything right. In the end, it is Theresa who makes him see that he can be good.
The ending completely shocked me and I need for the final book to come out so I can get answers.
Lana-White Hot Reads
Five Glorious Cliffy Stars!!!!!
In Bad Deeds; Shane and Emily both try to find a way to get Brandon Enterprises out of the eyes of the drug cartel. Shane pushes Emily away in the beginning but only because he gets an unexpected visit from the King of the Cartel himself... Adrian in the same room with Emily and Shane does not do friendly things to him.. Shane goes into protect and push away mode with her.
With each day they make their bond stronger and Shane finds the perfect way to get them out of the pharmaceutical company.
Lisa gets us deeper into their world and twists and turns everything as you continue to read... Huge Cliffy at the end...... and I love it!
Holy crap! Hold on while I pick my jaw up off the ground! This book was pretty intense, as with the first two books, it's very well written, keeps you on edge from the first page to the very last word, plenty of hot, steamy angry sex, and also some very tender moments. I love this couple together, a lot. Derek definitely has some surprises that unfold in this book as well as their mother. Overall a great installment to this series. I really need that last book to come out now!!!!!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
Lisa Renee Jones has definitely increased the stakes that Brandon has been forced to deal with. As soon as he thinks he has a handle on each problem they slowly begin to unravel. One thought remains consistent throughout the book, without trust you have nothing. He constantly diliberates his internal struggle of doing everything to keep Emily safe and trying to not worry her with every detail he is forced to deal with. From his father, brother, Gemini, and the Martina crime family he feels pulled into so many different directions. One thing remains clear in this spellbinding book is preserving his family's name and securing a safe future for him and Emily.
