Not cool, not cool at all, but so very good. Shane still has that cape attached to the collar of his expensive suit. But it was nice to see how he and Emily’s relationship has evolved. Everything, and everyone else was just, wow. I feel sorry for those who haven’t read this yet, I feel sorry for myself because I want the next one now. I deserve it after the anxiety and emotional roller coaster this book took me on.
I was given an ARC for my honest review.
5 clean STARS!!!
The saga continues...i love this series!!!
Bad Deeds is the third book in the Dirty Money series. You must read the series in order to fully understand it. Bad Deeds starts off exactly where Damage Control ended. I am going to make this short so I don't give away too much.
Two brothers fighting over one company. A father that pins them against each other for control. A mother that has both loved and betrayed the family. Two women that want to love and protect the men they want a future with. One drug cartel leader that wants it all. And security that will do anything to protect their bosses. That is Bad Deeds in a nutshell. Who will come in on top? Who will have a future together? Will this family get their shit together before it's too late?
I have been reading the series from the very beginning and it has been full of twists, love, and sex. I think that it's a great series but this one book felt a little flat compared to the previous two books. Maybe it was because it's more about the business and not as much about the love part. But I will be finishing off the series. I have to know what happens next. I believe the fourth book is going to be more exciting and full of heat.
Overall...not my favorite of the series but still good. There are some twists and turns. The characters are growing. The writing is good and I like that Lisa sums up the previous book before it starts and there is a cast list.
Quotes:
“I have no idea how you still blush after all the things we’ve done together, but I love it.”
“I won’t be the girl who went down without one hell of a fight.”
“Yes, Master.” I shake my head. “That was a joke. You are not my master.”
“I bet I could get you to call me Master.”
Bad Deeds is the 3rd book in the Dirty Money Series. This series just keeps getting better and better. The suspense and intrigue ramps up in this book as the bad guys seem a little more ominous and it's difficult to determine if the good guys really are good! Shane & Emily continue to fortify their relationship building their trust and the chemistry between the two of them continues to be off the charts. Shane shows more pieces of himself in this story. With fierce loyalty to his family and company, the multi layers of Shane that he has been trying to hide from Emily are now seeping through. There are multiple surprises in this book and the ending cliffhanger is overwhelming unexpected!!!
Oh, boy! Edge of the seat reading no longer works. I am standing up and pacing ... and now I am done reading this installment. Complicated, complex, emotional, gripping, and a puzzle to solve all in one!
Alliances are switched, new ones are made, lives are in real danger, and all Shane wants is to solve the problem of drugs being moved using his pharma company. He wants to leave the firm in good hands and profitable so he can live his life in peace with Emily. Will this ever happen?
Everything is going downhill right now. Derek and Theresa, his father and mother, Emily's brother, etc. is seems like everyone has gone off their tracks and all the burdens are falling on Shane's shoulders. He has a plan that will satisfy all. At least he hopes it works.
I can hardly wait for the final book in this series. Like all of this author's series, this one is deep and complex. Just breathe and try to remain calm, it won't be easy. I am dying to read the conclusion now.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I thank the author for sharing a copy of the book with me.
This was an awesome third installment in the story of Shane and Emily. Secrets, betrayal, intrigue abound. Finally it looks like Shane has figured a way to get out of the mess his family has created for him and he and Emily will have their happy ever after...and then WHAM here comes a killer cliffhanger, and a note from the author that just adds to the need to see how this all turns out.
For some reason I thought this was a three book series and I wasn't too happy as I didn't think the story needed to be three books. Now I realize as I read the end of Bad Deeds, there is another book!!! Ugh, this story has been so dragged out. And Emily's issue is nonexistent is this book. How on earth is there going to be enough left to write a full length fourth book??
OMG! This book had me hooked from the get go! If there is one thing that Lisa Renee Jones is good at, it is writing fantastic stories that are emotional and captivating.
In Bad Deeds, book 3 in the Dirty Money series, Ms. Jones does a great job of pulling you into the story. Packed with plenty of drama, angst, betrayal, loyalty, suspense, secrets, lies, danger, violence, passion, twists and turns that you don't see coming, lots of questions... but very few answers, and a cliffhanger that will blow you away.
I’ve really enjoyed each book in this series, Bad Deeds included. I like Brandon and Emily. They’re smart, really smart, and trying so hard to live dignified lives despite the unsavory characters around them. Sadly, many of the evil, amoral people they must deal with are family making remaining above the taint that much harder.
It was interesting to watch some of the personal dynamics change in this book. Brandon’s mom and brother were both explored further and their courses of action altered. The change between Brandon and Derek was especially interesting. The stress level remained high as Brandon works hard trying to figure out a way to save his company and keep everyone alive.
Jones has done a really good job of creating danger, action, relationships and characters that are clever, believable and highly entertaining. I did get a bit tired of Brandon and Emily having sex in every possible way and place. This has happened to me before in other series. I guess I just have a threshold for one couple.
Jones did not leave me happy with the book’s huge cliffhanger! I didn’t realize there is another book in the series so I had no idea she wasn’t going to tie everything up. Now, I’m impatiently awaiting the next book.

Oh no she didn't!
Yes, she did. She left me hanging. But damn, it was good. The suspense was addictive and the office sex was H-O-T! The puzzle pieces are connecting and the picture is becoming clearer. But by no means is it finished.
There are villains at work trying to take over the Brandon empire. But Shane has worked too hard to keep it in the family to let that happen. Even though he doesn't approve of the way his father and brother have handled business in the past, he wants to preserve his legacy. He gave up his successful law practice in New York to move back home and save the family company, and he's not gonna let it go now. At least not without a fight. But it's kinda hard to know who to trust when everyone seems to be fighting for a piece of the pie.
Emily is starting to see another darker side to Shane as he's faced with enemies that are threatening his family and his woman. Will there be anything left of the man she fell in love with when the dust settles? How much is she willing to take? Will she stand by her man no matter what, or will it be too much to ask of her? She's starting to see similarities to situations she faced in her past. Memories that are not pleasant. Is she strong enough to face them again? Will she run or stay?
As the suspense builds and the danger increases I have fewer and fewer nails to bite. Just when I thought it was all gonna work out, BAM! Guess that means I'll have time to grow out my nails before the next book in the Dirty Money series is released. The line forms here...

Holy Cliffhanger Batman! This is the worst one yet.
Emily and Shane are great. Their relationship is growing. There's lots of drama going on with his family and the cartel. It was nice to get more insight into Derek and Teresa's relationship. Plenty of sexy times with sparks flying between Jessica (Shane's assistant) and Cody (Emily bodyguard)...can they please hook up?
Then there's a horrible cliffy. The ones at the end of the first two books weren't that bad...this one is gut wrenching. I need the next part NOW!!
My head is spinning and I can't breathe.
I've entered the vortex that is the Brandon Family, I'm not sure how I'll escape and not been harmed.
My heart is on the edge of splitting in half, my mind is reeling and my gut is twisting in ways I never dreamed it could.
Shane Brandon is dark, dangerous and extremely hot. He fights for those he loves and he fights hard. This is the underlying theme of Bad Deeds. We may do bad things, but this doesn't make us bad people. Emily is Shane's person. Together they become one. One in soul and heart. And when the soul and heart come together, the mind will soon follow suit. This doesn't mean that the mind won't make the hard decisions that the heart can't, it will just make them in a way that is best for all involved.
The Brandon men are hard to deal with on every level. From father to sons. They make me angry, yet anxious. I want to just put them in a room together, tie them up and duck tape their mouths so that they have to listen to what I have to say. Because they all tend to do so much talking and not much listening.
I can't wait to see what happens next. I'm sitting here, attempting to write a cohesive review and realizing that it's a mess. But then so are my thoughts. They're swirling around in my head wondering what I just read... in the best way possible.
LRJ brought me into a real life world of money, power and intrigue, where Bad Deeds don't necessarily mean bad hearts. ~ Heather, White Hot Reads
Bad Deeds the third in the Dirty money series as before continues straight from the second book Damage Control. Whilst this book is as good as the other two, the continuing relationship between Emily and Shane grows and deepens and there is much happening with Shane's family, the business, and the Cartel trying to force the company into illegal activities.
So whilst I did enjoy the book I couldn't believe that it ended on yet another cliffhanger and there is a fourth book due out in January 2018, sorry but I think it should have been wrapped up by now, not sure if I want to invest anymore time in this series, others may disagree but I think this is because I felt so let down by not knowing there was another book to come.
It has been so long since I read the first part of this trilogy that I do not remember what is going on in this story. Though the author did have a cast of characters bio, I still found I had issues remembering the story. The story continues from the first book, giving us some answers, leaving us with more questions, and the difficult cliffhanger ending. I will be reading it to see what happens next. It took a bit to get back into the swing of this story, but I got into it again and couldn't put it down.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book..
This is one of those trilogys that has a profound effect on me. I love this so much!!
Saucy steamy goodness (badness) in this series. Interesting premise and characters. Great holiday reading.
I don't even know where to start... Ms Jones slays it again.
Shane and Emily are caught in the web of the Martina cartel. Shane is determined to find a way out of the situation where he and Emily are safe and together and his family business remains just that. Ms Jones has proven herself to be a master chess player in the way she spins a tale. Shane has proven to be a master chess player in the world she has created for him. He somehow manages to see the whole situation and how people can be moved to interact and further his cause. I really appreciate how much more I care about the secondary characters after this title. They become more central to the story in the way they can be played off each other.
I can't recommend this series more highly. I'm DYING to read the next installment... This one ends on one H-E-L-L of a cliffy. Thank goodness I have a few of Ms Jones's titles I haven't read yet to keep me company until End Game comes out!
