Such fun sweet stories. Great for a summer beach read.
A definite buy for the summer reader! While each of the four stories are short they were all very entertaining and enjoyable reads! I must say the collection that the authors put together was definitely not a disappointment except for them being so short! So buy and enjoy the short summer reads! I was given this book in return for a honest review. Regards, Anna
I loved most of the books in this set and the characters were well written.
How a Lass Wed a Highlander was a good read matching up to the fairytale in a quirky way.
A Match Made in Heather was a great 2nd chance story!
A Midsummer Wedding, all I can say is I LOVED Elizabeth. Surprised the heck out of Alexander!
The Scots Say I Do was by far my favorite, right up until the end. Loved the story and the fact that the H/h actually communicated through their differences. My only problem with the story was right at the end, one word bothered me. It seemed so out of sync with everything else written that it bothered me. Other than that, I loved all of these stories!

This is my honest review in return for this ARC. Ah, those brawny Scottish men. BIG SIGH.... 4 delightful short stories of raw brawny Scots and the women that love them. Does it get any better?
This is really a collection of novellas, all by bestselling authors. All the stories are interesting and entertaining, all the couples interesting, with well written characters. Great stories for a quick read, for the beach or a trip. Each is about an hour read, yet don't feel rushed. Great fas reads.

Thank you to NetGalley and Swerve for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was offered to me through NetGalley and when I accepted it I didn't realize it was actually 4 stories in one. Normally, I don't read books like that because the stories are short and don't allow for a lot of plot development but since I had already downloaded it I figured I'd read it.
The stories were good. Again, there wasn't a lot of plot development because of how short the stories were but they were good. They were all set in different time periods which was interesting but could be a disappointment if you were expecting stories that built of each other. Overall, the book was a quick read. I think a book like this would be good for someone who was interested in finding new historical romance authors without committing to a whole book.
HOW A LASS WED A HIGHLANDER by Lecia Cornwall
Laird Alex Munro of Culmore has just five weeks to find a bride and marry her or else the clan will be cursed with ill luck. If seems as though the bad luck has started considering the number of raids Alex’s neighbour Laid Sutherland is making. Cait MacLeod is betrothed to Sutherland but has decided she can’t marry a bully & thug. When she tries to stop a deadly raid, she ends up as Alex Munro’s prisoner.
Delightful story which is another of the author’s retelling of a fairy tale this time The Princess and The Pea. The characters are well developed for a short story & the plot is well paced. I read it in one sitting.
A MATCH MADE IN HEATHER by Anna Harrington
Arabel Rowland was the laird's daughter. Garrick McGuiness was nothing more than a penniless, nameless Scot with nothing to offer but his heart. They planned to run away together but she couldn’t leave her family as her brother was in difficulty, then Garrick was beaten up & disappeared. Ten years have gone by. Arabel’s uncle dies leaving the family home, Castle Highburn jointing to Arabel & an English Earl, Earl of Townsend who is no other than Garrick, given his title & lands as a reward for his endeavours in the army. The terms of the will state they must inhabit Highburn for a month of forfeit their share.
A thoroughly enjoyable novella of misunderstandings, revenge & second chances. The characters are well portrayed, likeable & have plenty of depth. The pace is good & kept me reading. Garrick & Arabel are both clinging to what happened ten years ago & both are reluctant to let go & move on.
A MIDSUMMER WEDDING by May McGoldrick
Elizabeth Hay and Alexander MacPherson had been betrothed as children & now two decades later their marriage is a week away. Neither want to marry but a huge storm, floods, attempted kidnapping & a matchmaking Queen all plat their part.
I’m not a huge fan of Highlander stories but I thoroughly enjoyed this one & definitely piqued my interest enough to go & buy some of the other books in the MacPherson series. Alex is everything you want in a hero, tall, broad & with a heart. Elizabeth is a strong woman & has had her freedom to travel with her father. Both are very likeable & their witty banter had me smiling. The plot is fast paced & I read the novella in one sitting.
THE SCOT SAYS I DO by Sabrina York
Catherine Ross is in London for the season & even though sh has several suitors non compare to The gorgeous Scot Duncan MacKay who rescued her from drowning years before & who she has loved since. Her world is turned upside down when her brother Peter gambles away every penny they own. His debts have been bought by non other than Duncan who has also loved Katherine for years. Duncan proposes & to save Peter 'wee Cat' agrees.
A very paced, well written story. The characters have depth & are likeable. Another highly enjoyable novella that I read in one sitting.
Four well written enjoyable short stories. That I’m sure I’ll re read & also have whetted my appetite to buy other books by the authors
A brilliant set of historical romances. I loved them all. Great job ladies!
This is a light, summer read for those who like romance based in Scotland. Quick, no nonsense love stories. Fun read!
Four of my favorite authors provided works for this anthology – so, it is only natural that I LOVE it.
HOW A LASS WED A HIGHLANDER by Lecia Cornwall
This tale is loosely (very loosely) based on the Princess and the Pea fairytale. Laird Alex Munro of Culmore has to find a wife in five weeks or break a generations long pact. However, the ‘Pea’ is missing and they must have the ‘Pea’ which is the official engagement ring. Not only is the Pea missing, but the neighboring Laird has been attacking and burning the crofters on Munroe lands. After one such raid, Alex finds Cait MacLeod in the woods near the burned out cottage. Alex doesn’t believe Cait’s story and believes she is part of the raiding parties. Cait quickly wins the love of his Clan and even the potential brides who are visiting the keep – but – Alex is still wary of her. They have a long road to find their HEA, but it is a good read to get them there.
A MATCH MADE IN HEATHER by Anna Harrington
This is a story of second chances. Ten long years ago Arabel and Garrick were going to elope. Then, on the night of the elopement, Arabel tells Garrick that she cannot go because of a family situation that has just developed. Garrick is heartbroken and just doesn’t understand why she always chooses her family over him. Then, when she thinks he has left her, she can’t forgive him. There are huge misunderstandings in this story and you wonder how they can get past them. Given what happened to him, I would have thought Garrick would be the one unable to forgive, but it was Arabel who kept clinging to her hurt and anger. Frankly, she got on my last nerve, but finally came around so they got their HEA.
A MIDSUMMER WEDDING by May McGoldrick
I think this was my favorite story in the anthology. I LOVED the characters. They were well developed and fully formed, but I’ve never seen anything by McGoldrick that wasn’t absolutely excellently done! Be prepared – there are some really giggle-worthy moments in this book! Elizabeth and Alex were betrothed as children and raised far apart, so they never met. Their lives were very different – she thought him a barbaric Highlander and he thought her a pampered, simpering, spoiled little princess. Both of them want out of the engagement, but the other doesn’t know that. So, when Elizabeth tries to trick Alex into thinking she was in love with someone else so he’d break the engagement, things go really awry. They end up in the middle of a rain-swollen river fighting for their lives. It is funny how those near-death experiences bring you to being honest – and they were finally honest with each other and agreed to cancel the engagement. So – how do they get their HEA – well – you’ll just have to read the anthology to find out.
THE SCOT SAYS I DO by Sabrina York
This was my second favorite of the stories in this anthology. I loved Catherine’s friends, especially Elizabeth and hope to see their stories in the future. Duncan and Catherine were in love, but it was just not meant to be. She was the Lairds daughter and he was the stable hand – she was twelve and he was not. You have to wonder if there is any way for them to ever have a HEA. Years later, Catherine returns home from a ball to find that her brother has lost their entire estate – homes, land, money – all of it – and now that former stable hand owns it all. He also wants to marry her. Why in the world would he want to marry her now when he walked off and left her so long ago without even saying goodbye. I hope you’ll read this delightful, funny and entertaining story to see how they finally get their HEA. There are twists and turns and even an evil dude – everything you could possibly want.
"I requested and received this book at no cost to me and volunteered to read it; my review is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher."

Sweetly sensual historical.
A Match Made In Heather by Anna Harrington
Events conspired against Arabel Rowland and Garrick McGuiness. Falling in love as teens, their hearts are ripped to shreds as her family learns of their planned elopement, beats him near to death and throws him in a cart to take him far away from her.

Sweet and sensual
A Midsummer Wedding by May McGoldrick
Elizabeth Hay had been betrothed since she was a toddler to Alexander Macpherson, the Black Cat of Benmore. A pirate.
Neither wants the wedding, each thinking the other does....until they meet..and the attraction is instantaneous. Problem is the queen has her own agenda and had Elizabeth grabbed and hauled off to a boat right in front of him. He runs to her rescue, but is injured and both get drawn into a flood and must spend time together where they're trapped, learning more about each other and growing closer.
The betrothal is official by the time they're rescued but the king threatens her with his death and she tries to back out, but he comes up with a clever plan and the marriage goes forward.
Sweet and sensual.
The Scot Says I Do by Sabrina York
As a child Catherine Ross fell in love with groom Duncan Mackay who always treated her very well...until all of a sudden, he didn't and he made sure she saw him kissing others, she didn't know it was her father's orders. Then suddenly he was gone.
Her father passed away, and her brother Peter pushed her into the marriage mart, but she didn't know he'd gambled everything away.
Duncan arrives in time to save her from the reprobate that enticed her brother into gambling by buying up his vowels.
Misunderstandings abound with bits of humor until the whole truth comes out and Duncan hurries to save her only to find out the lass saved herself.....but that didn't stop him from insisting on Gretna Green.
Sweet and sensual with humor.
All are well written and engrossing tales from talented authors,
I was amazed at how fast the stories flew by.
Say Yes To The Scot is a collection of 4 stories in one book. All of these stories were well-written and a nice smooth read. Each book is a standalone, not a cliff-hanger. Each story is a fairly short read, a great choice for those with limited time for reading.
How A Lass Wed A Highlander by Lecia Cornwall is the story of Alex and Cait. The characters in this story are phenomenal. There's plenty of action, drama and suspense along with a bit of spice. This was my first book by Lecia Cornwall. I totally enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from this author.
A Match Made In Heather by Anna Harrington is Garrick and Arabel's story. Loaded with awesome characters, drama, humor and sizzle, this book will have readers glued to their kindles. I look forward to my next Anna Harrington book.
A Midsummer Wedding by May McGoldrick is Elizabeth and Alexander's story. Ms McGoldrick has loaded this story with humor, drama, action and sexy bits. The characters are lovable and a great fit for this story. This is my first book by May McGoldrick but won't be my last.
The Scot Says I Do by my favorite wordsmith, Sabrina York is another example of why I love this author's work. Catherine and Duncan's story is loaded with characters that will make you laugh, cringe or fan yourself. There plenty of drama, action and humor along with enough sparks to melt your kindle. I can't wait to read more from Sabrina York.
I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I received from NetGalley.
This is a wonderful collection of books that I just loved. Each story was better than the last and kept me turning pages just as quickly as possible. Each author created a delightful set of characters and made me fall in love with them.
While all of the books were great, my personal favorite was The Scot Says I Do, by Sabrina York. This is an engaging story that also highlights some of the real challenges women faced during the time period. However, it is told as only the Queen of Hotness can tell a tale. While the heat is a bit tamer than many of her books, the story is a must read.
If you enjoy a Highland romance, you will love this collection. Put this one at the top of your TBR, you'll be glad you did.
This anthology is a terrific book. Each story is a 5 star read.
Each author presents a couple who are destined to be together. And each author has created a world populated with Scottish men who are heroic and wonderful and all the heroines are lovely but also strong and powerful.
I am not sure if I were forced to pick, I could select my favorite story. There are relationships which are brand new. There are relationships which began long ago and are now on a new and lovely path. Most of all there are relationships which illustrate that no two people fall in love in exactly the same manner.
I loved this book. I have enjoyed these authors in the past and I am certain I will enjoy their writing in the future. I look forward to it.
I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley. I am voluntarily writing this review and all opinions are my own.
I give it more 3.5* than 4*
Well, speaking about all set of stories,I was not disappointed, because I expected to like one stories more than the others.
HOW A LASS WED A HIGHLANDER by Lecia Cornwall - ****
I really enjoyed reading this retelling of The Princess and The Pea. It definitely reminded me of a fairy-tale for adults. I loved that the main female character was strong and independent, also she wasn't afraid to show her feelings and desires. What can I say...a great love story.
A MATCH MADE IN HEATHER by Anna Harrington - **
This story differ from the first one like day and night. It was a torture to read it, because of how problematic the relationship between the couple was. He acted abusive and forced her to do things, that she didn't want to do or had some doubts about it, and his explanation was - I always get what I want, besides she wants me just don't know it yet. She was so naive and on the verge of stupidity, she responded to his abusiveness like it was some kind of expression of love. I gave it 2 stars, because I had to keep reading it, just to see how worse can it get.
A MIDSUMMER WEDDING by May McGoldrick - *****
This story was so cute and interesting to read. It was even better that the first one. And after torture of "A Match Made in Heather" this lovely story was like a gulp of fresh water. The main thing that I loved the most was the respect, that protagonists showed to each other. There was no abusiveness and domination, just admiration and respect. Amazing.
THE SCOT SAYS I DO by Sabrina York - ***
At the beginning of this story, I thought that it will be the worst from all four of the stories. I hated the main female character with all my heart from start to the end. She was irrational, spoiled little brat, but the other characters came to the rescue and this story was saved.
Four great authors writing four wonderful short stories. All of them are worth reading.
4.5 stars - This was an awesome collection of novellas!
How A Lass Weds a Highlander - Lecia Cornwall - 5 stars - This novella is part of the ongoing Fairy Tales Series, this story is very loosely based on the Princess and the Pea. Cait is betrothed to Baird Sutherland, her distant cousin. When she realizes what kind of man he really is, she decides that she will not marry him - when he leaves to attack Alex's clan, she follows. Cait has no sense of direction and gets lost - she arrives after the raid and Alex takes her prisoner. Alex's clan believes that he must marry on midsummer eve or the clan will have bad luck. The legend is that the first laird fell in love with a fairy princess and when they wed, the fairy queen gave them a ring, which is affectionately called the pea, each new laird must put the pea on his loves finger at sunset or the clan will be cursed. Alex doesn't believe the legend and has no use for love - but he will marry for the clan's sake. When he arrives back from the raid with Cait, he finds that the potential brides have already arrived and the pea is missing! Cait tells Alex that she is the fearsome McLeod's daughter and asks him to send for her father. She proceeds to charm everyone, including the brides and especially Alex. Alex doesn't believe that she is McLeod's daughter and can't consider her as a bride. But the heart wants what the heart wants. When Alex decides on his bride, Baird shows up and it seems that all is lost. The novella is well written, flows well, has some surprises, betrayal and true love.
A Match Made in Heather - Anna Harrington - 4 stars- This is the story of Arabel and Garrick, ten years ago they were in love and planning to elope. Arabel tells Garrick that she cannot leave, that her family needs her, but won't tell him why. Garrick is a stable hand and believes that Arabel has changed her mind and is angry that she would choose her family over him. As he leaves he is ambushed and told that Arabel set him up. Ten years later, they meet again, Garrick has been awarded an Earldom for his service in the war and Arabel is engaged to marry and her family is basically in ruin. They learn that they have co-inherited her family's estate, but the terms of the will say that they have to live together in the house for 30 days, to refuse is to forfeit their claim. Nether is happy, but neither will back down and let the other win. Garrick wants revenge and Arabel - as they spend time together, they realize they were both wronged and old feelings haven't died. But can Garrick let go of the past? This was a well written, well paced novella, it had the hottest love scenes in the entire collection and had an emotional depth that surprised me. I assumed that I would dislike Garrick, because I dislike revenge plots - but in actuality, Arabel was the one I had a hard time liking. I didn't hate her - but I felt that she wanted everything her way and expected Garrick to just fall in line. She does redeem herself - but it was touch and go there for awhile...
A Midsummer Wedding - May McGoldrick - 5 Stars - This was my favorite in the collection. I loved Elizabeth and Alex! They have been betrothed for years and he has finally come to claim her - or has he? Elizabeth has no desire to marry the Highlander and along with the queen, concocts a plan to have him call off the wedding. When her plan goes awry, Alex must save her. They ended up stranded alone in a cottage and begin to realize how wrong they both were about the other and both regret their decision to call off the wedding. They come to a decision to wed and when they are rescued, it seems like they will get their HEA. However, team McGoldrick will not make it easy for them and Elizabeth have to make a heartbreaking decision to save her love. Excellent story, it is well written, has steamy love scenes, laugh out loud moments, tense moments and a soulmate type love. LOVED IT!!
The Scot Says I Do - Sabrina York - 5 stars - This was a close second for my favorite novella in this collection. Duncan and Catherine have known each other for years - he saved her life and she was besotted with him. Duncan was a stable hand on her father's estate and did all he could to discourage Cat's affection. When he disappears without a word, Cat is heartbroken and tries to convince herself that she hates him. Years later Duncan is back, he shows up at their London house and Cat is informed that her brother has lost the estate and Duncan has bought his debt. To save her brother from debtors prison, Duncan offers her an alternative, she can marry him. Cat is shocked to see Duncan again and can't believe the man who spurned her and was so mean to her, wants to marry her. She agrees to save her brother (that's her story and she is sticking to it). Cat has no idea what really happened all those years ago and has no idea that Duncan loves her and always has. This story is well written, has some of the funniest dialogue in the entire book, has steamy love scenes, great secondary characters, an twisted villain and a wonderful ending. This is loosely connected to the Untamed Highlander series and I sincerely hope Ms. York is planning on writing books for the St. Claire sisters!!
All in all, this was an excellent book, which I highly recommend!
I enjoyed each of the novellas in this book. I have read books by each of the authors and they all did not disappoint!! Each story is unique, but they all involve Scottish males falling in love. Each has is own story, some discovering love and some rekindling love. Each author has her own writing style, but they mesh well together. They all contain romance, and a mix of action and adventure. Some are willing to make sacrifices for love, others are willing to fight for their love. The women are independent and strong, but have the desire to marry for love. Each pairing has their own obstacles to overcome, some due to their clans/obligations and others from their past. Each story has the potential for a happily ever after, but will each man and woman be willing to marry for love or will they choose another path?
