I’m a sucker for a second chance romance. I really enjoyed this book. It was just a sexy feel good romance. It was fun and flirty; sexy and hot. Just like Sawyer Bennett knows how to write romance. Her characters are down to earth and so relatable. They have character and sex appeal. They make you swoon and fall for them.
The chemistry was sizzling. It was hard and rough. It was sweet and sexy. It was everything you want in a second chance romance. It was those butterflies in the stomach and warmth in your heart kind of story. Coop was the whole package. The kind of man you swoon for. But still Eden was his missing piece. As Coop was hers. They were meant for each other.
I absolutely loved this story from that very first page till the end. It will keep you entertained with each page turn while making you fan yourself.
High school lovers, Cooper and Eden, couldn’t make their relationship last when they were teenagers but when Eden returns to her small town will they be able to find their way back to each other? Eden is now a famous actress while Coop loves his hometown and never wants to leave. The chemistry between them is amazing! Loved this book all the way through! It’s the kind of story you don’t want to put down and I love Coop! I hope Sawyer revisits this town for Missy’s story! Hint! Hint!
Well, I can tell you one thing that is constant. Sawyer Bennett sure can deliver some smoking hot scenes. Whew. Of course Jilted is no exception and I’ll be completely honest, it’s the one thing that kind of pushed my rating up a little. While I throughly enjoyed this book, the overall story wouldn’t have been the same if it didn’t have the spice that Bennett delivered with it.
Eden left her small town fourteen years ago, leaving behind her first love in order to chase her dreams of something bigger. While they split cordially, you never forget your first love, right? Forced to step out of the spotlight of her cheating fiancé, Eden ends up going back to her hometown and forced to face the love she left behind.
Cooper is probably one of the sweetest heroes I’ve read in a while. He’s got that Southern charm and ultimately has a big heart. When everyone else seems to be down on Eden, he’s there to support her. Even when he thinks she might have done something that personally strikes him straight to the heart.
I enjoyed the banter between Eden and Cooper. Especially when she first got back to town. You could tell that they still harbored feelings for each other yet there were fight it and fighting each other. Their petty fights had me cracking up.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. Bennett gave us a swoon worthy love with pieces of wit and small-town Souther charm. If you are looking for a light-hearted read with some flair and charm, then this is the book for you!
ARC received for an honest review
This is the second in the Love Hurts series, however they are stand alones and can both be read alone.
I adored Jilted. It is a sweet, sexy and at times turbulent second chance love story, and I am always a sucker for one of those.
Throw in a Hollywood superstar and her small town love of her life and there is going to be major sparkage.
I live in a small town, so I get the small town vibe, the gossips, the rumour mill. I could understand Eden feeling like she was under a microscope.
Coop - sigh, what was there not to love about the guy? He has such a taciturn nature at times, but when he lets fly, well, he lets everyone know his feelings.
There were some great, and some downright d!ckish characters in Jilted that I just loved to hate.
Jilted is a sweet, sexy, cute albeit predictable story, but that didn't stop me reading it in one day and enjoying it.
Can't wait to see what Ms Bennett brings us next.
Adorable!
A very sweet second-chance-lovestory!
With lots of anger and fighting until we get to our happy end! ☺
Very cute. Funny. Moving. Sad. Sexy. Verrry sexy. ☺
Put two fighting exes with lots of left-over-feelings together in one house and let the fun times begin!
I enjoyed reading it - finished it in one day!
Great Hollywood / small-town / second-chance lovestory!
JILTED was an adorable second-chance lovestory!! Fun, sweet, moving & erotic! Run to your nearest amazon for your own COOP - this one is MINE!
What do you get when Sawyer Bennett brings a Hollywood "A-lister" together with her high school sweet heart? A sexy and seductive contemporary romance that will light the pages on fire with the chemistry alone. Bennett is surely a Queen in the contemporary romance genre and Jilted is testament to that once again.

I'm definitely in love with the beautiful southern home that Eden owns, a personal library within the master suite! Eden and Coop are adorable, sweet and eighteen again. When they were too young to understand life they made a bold decision, the right one but still life changing. After a horrific scene on the red carpet premiere of her fiancee's movie she escapes back home, a very unwelcome place. Coop, her first love, comes to the rescue eventually but makes her tough it out a bit. Her friend Missy was my favorite, a tell-it-like-it-is sort of person. This was fun, sassy and quick. The second book in the Love Hurts series it is completely unconnected to Sex in the Sticks. My copy was given through Netgalley and my review written voluntarily.
This was a very quick sexy read.
Eden is a big time fashion model turned big time movie star.
Eden's melt down happens on the red carpet at a movie premiere. Her louse of a boyfriend (recently engaged just prior to the start of this story). Rumors get turned around & Eden's made to look really bad.
She runs away from her ex-fiance' and goes back to her hometown near Savannah, Georgia. Eden is taking a vacation from the rat race & relentless gossips.
Its been a long time-- 14 years. Eden was just 18 years old when she left Newberry, GA to become a fashion model then became a successful actress.
Her high school boyfriend Cooper is still there. He's 14 years older.. and wiser. And hunkier. He's got a chip on his shoulder and is determined to keep his pride. After all, Eden left & never looked back. They had been in love but then they lost touch over all those years.
Eden and Cooper find themselves in a situation where they have to see each other on a daily basis. Cooper finds out what it was like for Eden all those years ago when she nearing adulthood, why she had to leave.
Eden started her career and was gone more and more. Their break up was tear full and full of regret.
After so many years, it really seemed like they were almost new people. Cooper seems to back down from his grudge
During the time that they were apart, Coop wasn't married, but he had a series of hook ups. In a small town, it's bound to get awkward. And awkward it is. Just at the same exact almost moment that Eden shows up, Coop breaks it off with his latest hook up: Ashley!
Ashley had gone to school with Coop & Eden (of course).Eden & Ashley aren't friends-at all. She keeps showing up & causing trouble. If a "villain" is going to be featured that much, I would be more satisfied with her getting what she deserved . Ashley's name is mentioned 78 times (I did the search after my GR friend Eve mentioned the ow was featured too much for her liking).
Meanwhile, Eden & Coop are well into their "rebound romance". Both telling each other that their time together has a shelf life.
By the middle of the book, there's a lot of romance-and sexy times. In various locations and oh did I mention... A LOT OF SEX? I really was counting on Eden and Coop finding out more of what was going on in each other's lives. The sexy times were really hot though.
Their current lives are so different. Coop loves his town. Ashley does too. She has her career that takes her all over the world.
This was a short book, about 210 pages. I was happy with the ending-not too abrupt, in my opinion. Short and sweet epilogue.
This can be a standalone. I really enjoyed book 1-- Sex in the Sticks. They both have the similar theme of the wealthy heroine and the humble hunky hard working hero.
I was a little iffy about this book going into it. I usually don't like Hollywood type books, where the character is an actor or actress. They have just never really appealed to me. That being said, I absolutely loved this book! The writing was excellent and the plot was well written and kept my attention from the first paragraph! Eden Goodnight is an actress who left her small town and hit it big. She gets engaged to another actor who has the nerve to cheat on her. And the way she finds out? She was much calmer than I would have been!! She decides to go back to her hometown, a little town in Georgia. Where she runs into her ex Cooper Mayfield. Coop is a man who has never wanted a relationship after how things ended between them. He is happy living the carefree bachelor life and has no desire to change that any time soon. This book had my emotions all over the place. One time I am laughing at their antics with each other, the next I want to hit one of them for being a jerk, and then I was wanting to cry for how bad one of them hurts. Eden is a sweet, down to earth woman even though she now has a celebrity job and is making millions. She tries not to let it change who she really is. Coop is a strong, loyal man who hides his heart behind a playboy image. I loved them both, even when he was being a jerk! This was a great read and I couldn't put it down once I started! If you love second chance romances with some comedy thrown in, you will love this book!
Can you really find the love of your life in high school? Cooper thought he had until one day she decides to leave. But will he give love a second chance? Eden thought she could leave home for greener pastures, but what if she already has everything she could ever want?
Cooper has been Jilted!! When his high school sweetheart comes back into town he can't forget all the ways she made him feel. Eden was his forever. She as the one. When she left to follow her dream Cooper was heartbroken. But now she's back and she's all grown up. The sparks fly and the tension is thick. Heck, they even make arguing look hot!
This book is sexy and sweet with a whole lot of swoon. Lite on the drama and with plenty of chemistry to go around, Jilted is the perfect book for a lazy Saturday afternoon. It's not too long and the story flows well. The characters a likable and it's full of steam.
I'm really enjoying this new series from Sawyer Bennett.
Another awesome book from Sawyer, I loved it.
Eden and Coop were high school sweethearts and when a chance of a lifetime opportunity came along for Eden she took it. They tried to make it work but it just didn't pan out for them. Now 14 years later Eden has come home after an awful embarrassing event. When her and Coop cross paths sparks fly and emotions that were buried come to the surface. They thought they could keep it only about sex. When it comes time for Eden to head back to her life, will they be able to work it out or will they let go all over again? This was a great book with a lot of emotions, I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this one.
I love this book, so very much! Jilted is the perfect addition to your summer reading list!!
Eden is Hollywood starlet, who left her hometown and Coop, her boyfriend, behind for the chance of a lifetime. Both were prepared for a long distance relationship but that was just not in the cards for them. Fourteen years later, Eden is back after being publicly dumped by her fiance at his movie premiere. But Eden never thought she’d run into the man she loved so long ago.
Coop is now owner of his own landscaping business and was not prepared to have Eden back in his life. Sure, he thought about her from time to time but never expected her to come back...or for them to still be attracted to each other. He’s moved on from his past and wants to keep it that way. But living in the same house with the girl he once saw his forever with is going to be the true test.
Before you know it, rebound sex for both of them is on the menu but relationships are not. Little did they know that their chemistry would never die down.
I was not prepared, at all, to fall in love with Eden and Coop. I was expecting that I was not going to like the Hollywood actress who came back to her small town expecting to be received with open arms. Then, I figured everything is Coop’s fault because, well, let’s just blame it all on the guy. In all honesty, both characters were so likeable, I couldn’t help myself and I really enjoyed them both. Fourteen years is a long time for two people to be apart, but Eden and Coop came back together so effortlessly (and with a LOT of hot sex).
When they first were around each other, I loved how feisty they were and yet, when push came to shove, they had each other’s backs. Their light hearted banter made it fun even when you knew the floor was about to drop from underneath them. And when they came to the crossroads? Get your tissues ready.
Overall, I highly recommend Jilted for that person in need of a good, fun, lighthearted and genuinely great second chance romance book.
OMG....Talk about swoon!
Cooper Mayfield is the whole package. He is a true southern gentleman with a dirty side!
Fourteen years ago Eden and Coop parted ways and ended their relationship on mutual terms. Eden lived on to be a famous Hollywood starlet while Coop stayed in their hometown and made a name for himself as a Landscape Architect.
When Eden decides to take time off and come home for a much-needed vacation away from Hollywood and her jerk of an ex fiance, she finds herself stepping into an even bigger problem, one that comes in the form of her even sexier ex-boyfriend Cooper.
When she finds the only man she's ever really loved living in her house. A house that her grandmother willed to them both before she passed away. The two have to learn to co-exist all over again. Quickly realizing that they never truly got over each other.
After all the lies Eden's ex-fiance has spread about their bedroom time. Eden is feeling insecure and curiosity wins over common sense. She makes Coop an offer he....couldn't refuse. The two agree to 'Rebound Sex'. That's it, no relationship means no hurt feelings in the end....YEAH RIGHT. like that ever works.
I love second chance romances, so when I found out Jilted was a second chance...I was all in. This novel is hilarious. I loved the back and forth between Coop and Eden. Especially when they were fighting over who gets the master suite. Jilted was fun to read. Cooper and Eden where each other's firsts so to see them together after they've both had 'experience' and think that feelings of love and all that wouldn't be involved was a fuse waiting to ignite!
This novel has a few angst type scenes but for the most part it is a fun and somewhat light read. The sexy times are spot on. I loved Cooper. What's not to love about a wild man though! Also when it comes to sexy times and this author. I love the fact that she doesn't draw out every single sexy time scene in her novels. Some scenes are worth going into detail but not all of them and Sawyer Bennett hit that spot on. The story itself wasn't overshadowed. I fell, when it comes to romance novels, the author's make the sex the pivotal points in novels when it shouldn't be. I need a deeper connection between the two main characters and with Jilted, I get exactly that.
I loved Jilted and I can't wait to read more from Sawyer Bennett in the future!
I highly recommend!
Well, this just may be a record DNF for me. Not in the mood for pages and pages of details about the heroes sex life with OW. Plus I did a search and that OW is all through the book causing issues...so ya, I have way too many books to read to spend my time on one I know I won't end up enjoying.
I am sure I'll be in the minority again with this one. *lol*
Sawyer Bennett adds scorching heat to her heartfelt, second-chance romance, Jilted, and I advise readers to crank up their air conditioning while reading. Eden and Coop were high school sweethearts and in love when their lives took them in different directions. Eden left college to become a successful model and an A-list actress, while Coop pursued his college degree to return to their small hometown, Newberry, Georgia, in order to take over his father’s lawn maintenance business. They haven’t spoken in fourteen years when Eden all the sudden shows back up in Newton.
Eden just found out her fiancé cheated on her, and she’s back to lick her wounds. She arrives at her childhood home to discover that Coop lives there, too. Her grandmother gave him the joint rights to be there for the remainder of his life, and these ex-lovers now find themselves as roommates. Although their breakup was mutual, there is still a complicated history between these two, and all of the feelings from their youth simmer beneath the surface.
Coop and Eden have crazy chemistry and agree to safe and easy “rebound sex” but they have way too much history for this to be simple anything. There’s still an emotional connection after all these years, and the physical relationship is opens the door to both of their feelings. Both Eden and Coop are charming and likable, and I loved how they handled their years apart. There was no moaning and whining that they ended things, because both realize it is what they needed to do. They’re mature, and Jilted feels like a realistic love story. There’s laughs throughout the story, and Coop is the perfect blend of sweet and alpha. As I stated, the sex is off-the-charts hot, so don’t try to read this one in public! Sawyer Bennett delivers again with Jilted.
Unfortunately the book was not for me, no review was publicly posted on Amazon, B&N, Goodreads or Twitter etc, so no ratings were affected in relation to it.
There is just something great about Sawyer Bennett's novels. Jilted was a great read. I'm a sucker for a good celebrity romance and Jilted was just that. Even better, it was a celeb + normal Joe love story. Once I got into the story, I did not want to put this book down.
I really liked the main characters, Eden and Cooper. It was like a second-chance at love AND enemies to lovers trope mashed into one. I loved the chemistry the two had and I loved how they were forced to share a living space. Jilted was just a fun and easy read.
Sawyer Bennett brings us another fantastic story as Hollywood and small town America collide in this amazing second chance story. The characters are wonderful and the chemistry between Eden and Cooper is off the charts.
Eden Goodnight, Hollywood's current favorite star, returns home after her private life implodes spectacularly right on the red carpet. She may not be happy about being back but she never expected the animosity the townspeople are throwing her way. The only person that seems to be cutting her any slack is her high school love Cooper Mayfield.
If you enjoy your romance fun, heartfelt, and steamy this is perfect for you. I highly recommend it.
Jilted
Eden our main character is a very sweet girl from Georgia who justs wants to be able to make a difference even in a small way to the world she lives in, if its charities donations or anything she can comes across.
Coop our main guy lives in Georgia and runs his own landscaping business. Mayflower landscaping who works to much.
Eden starts this story as happy as could be a award winning mega beautiful actress a gorgeous famous movie star fiance and everything comes crashing down in a blaze of glory. She finds out st the premiere of her fiances movie that he has been cheating on her with jos CoStar. Publically she humiliates him and walks off. She goes home to find out her first love Coop jointly owns her childhood home. At the beginning they butt heads pretty good, but they become friends again pretty quickly after finding out that there was a large misunderstanding that Coop is mad at her for. So they begin to spend time again together. Then they decide to start having rebound sex that means nothing, but can two people really have no strings attached sex when they loved each other like Eden and Coop did. Old enemies resurface to rip apart this bubble Eden and Coop have. Will Eden give it all up for Coop? Will the world find Eden?
I give this book sadly 2 stars. K love Sawyer's books but this one just did not cut it for me. I did enjoy the characters and I connected with them but for like 30 pages they just bang like bunnies, the scenes are hot but I feel overdone. The plot was pretty predictable. But the thing that really ruined it for me was using slang like "peeps" in inner dialogue. It just bugged me and it wasn't a one time thing. Sorry this one just didn't hit its mark for me. But id be excited to see a Missy book :)

Ok I guess I am the black sheep here. I had a hard time with this one. I liked it, but definitely didn't love it. I didn't feel a connection with Eden and Coop. We are told about their past relationship but that's exactly how I felt about it, we were told, and we didn't get a chance to feel it. I think maybe if we started with them together and then had the separation, I might have felt different? It was like yeah we had a past so lets jump into bed?!!? I don't know just didn't really work for me. There were a few scenes that made me smile and I enjoyed so I gave it 3 stars. I love Sawyer Bennett and will continue to read her for sure.
Full review to come closer to release. Thank you for the galley!
