Eden and Cooper were high school sweethearts, but life tore them apart. Cooper continued his life in their hometown, but Eden became a famous model and actress in Hollywood. While attending a red carpet event Eden finds out that her fiancee cheated on her and the next logical step for her is to go back to her hometown. When she gets back to her home, she find out that the house doesn’t belong only to her, but also to Cooper. Being back in town isn’t as great as it seemed, the people in town aren’t that nice to her and living with Cooper, the only man he ever loved, can it all be right again?
I did like the first book a bit more, but it was still a fun read. I didn’t warm up to Eden so much, but I really liked Cooped, he was very sweet, hard working and determined. It’s a well written novel with interesting plot and characters who stand out. Overall I enjoyed reading about Eden and Cooper’s story.
Such a great second chance romance! When Hollywood star Eden Goodnight is jilted by her Hollywood fiance, she heads home where she runs into her ex-boyfriend Cooper Mayfield. They grew apart, but never really got over each other. Now, back in town together, the old feelings reunite. Can they keep their rebound status or will it be so much more this time around?
I really liked the character in this book. My heart went out to Cooper and Eden as they tried to work their way back to each other. I could feel Eden's pain and frustration at what her life had become. I loved who Cooper became, but I have to say at the beginning, I was a little put off with him, but then again, he was always carrying a torch for Eden, he just didn't realize it. This was a good read and I'd love to see more in this small town!
Jilted is a second chance love story that will take you for a wild ride. I really liked Coop. He was down to earth and was highly relatable. Eden was a little harder to get, but she was still amazing. I could see where she came from and understand her a bit because of that. It didn't stop me from getting mad though!
Sawyer Bennett has written another fantastic romance to get lost in. Her attention to detail and character building helps me indulge in my need for sexy romance with substance. I really enjoyed this one and would definitely recommend it.
Five stars!
I’ve become a new fan of Sawyer. I love her writing and I loved this book. She gives us a page turning read and you can’t wait to see what’s going to happen with these two characters. You are rooting for them but know their past hasn’t let them be together and the same issues will arise in the present.
I love love me a second chance romance! And this one does not disappoint. Young love is ended because of fame and distance Coop and Eden couldn’t make a long distance relationship work and neither was willing to give up what they had or wanted to do.
After being publicly embarrassed by the press and “slapped” in the face by her fiancée Eden decides to run back home and get away from it all. She wasn’t expecting to come home to find her ex. He harbors some bad feeling towards her and they have this childish banter in the beginning that makes the story pretty amusing.
They soon come up with a compromise and a way to live together and enjoy each other while she takes a break. Old feelings resurface but neither is willing to give into them. Their chemistry is HOT and the sex is off the charts, but not only that you really did feel their connection.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and their relationship. I can’t wait to read another by her.
This was not my first Sawyer Bennett book, but it was the first I read in the Love Hurts series, each book is about a new couple so you don't have to read them in order. Jilted is the story of Eden Goodnight and Cooper Mayfield. Eden left her hometown of Newberry, Georgia when she could and now after becoming one of Hollywood's most sought after actresses and learning of her fiancés affair, while on the red carpet and subsequently freaking the hell out, she is back to the one place she feels she can escape from the drama that is her life. But when her past is standing right in front of her asking why she's at his house, the one her emotionally absent grandmother left her, and him apparently, she is shocked to learn that her grandmother gave her more drama from the grave, after making her youth and teen years hell.
Coop Mayfield, loved Eden Goodnight all through his teen years and he thought they would last forever, but when college came and Eden was offered the chance to model the girl her loved was gone and he hasn't been the same since. Coop knew that Eden's relationship with her grandmother was tough but he became close the the elderly woman before she passed because he knew Eden didn't come home to check up on her or call. So when he was gifted 50% ownership of Goodnight house he thought he was clear to have the house to himself, since Eden would never come back to Newberry, but now she is and they have to figure a way to not only live together but maybe bury the past, because for Coop, its not just her leaving that left him pissed its something else entirely.
Eden and Coop were a great couple to read about! I loved the way they would bicker! You could tell that they had a past and not a good one, but it at least made it interesting. Eden wants to know why the whole town hates her, not just a little hate either, its a hate that is deep and wide spread and for the life of her she cant figure out what the hell happened to the people of her hometown! Coop and Eden have to find a way to work through their past to find common ground, but when things seem to have worked out for the better between them, the reality of their careers smacks them in the face. Coop owns a business in town and Eden is an LA actress, how could they even work out, they didn't in college so what's changed? Can these to figure out a way to have it all or will they both remain jilted by their past?
Great storyline with well defined characters that pulled me right into their story and kept me totally enthralled until the very end!

A sexy and funny book, that I could not put down and stop reading. However, the title Jilted, I am a little at a loss here... maybe it should have been Rebound. The word jilted for some reason gives an impression of being rejected at an altar. Also the storyline is more about reconnecting and not about being jilted.
I like this book, but felt like it was rushed towards the end. Wish there was more of about their pasts. Spoiler Alert! There is a lot of hot, wicked, sex scenes.
Overall, I rate it as 3.5 stars.
I IMMEDIATELY loved Eden - the spunk and backbone she showed when confronted with her fiance's infidelity on such a public setting was enough to commit me to the book from the first few pages. Coop was another story. I get the manwhore trope and even understand it to an extent, but something about him just rubbed me the wrong way. However, my heart did soften towards him a bit as it's revealed that the jump off for his slutty ways is the heartbreak he endured after splitting with Eden. I've long been a sucker for second chance romances and lately I've been super pleased with the crop of books that feature a rekindling between first/teenage loves - and Jilted is no exception. It features the character development and HEAT that I've come to expect from Sawyer Bennett, with an added humor and levity that's refreshing in a summer time - beach/poolside read. The chemistry between Eden and Coop is off the charts, and Sawyer NAILED the nuances of small town, southern life. In adding Ashley to the mix, she also instantly created a foil against Eden and Coop's HEA and I'll admit, while at times I was supremely frustrated at the situation, I was ultimately entertained by the ensuing drama. I give Jilted 4 out of 5 wine glasses and after this and Sex In the Sticks, I can't wait to see what's next in the Love Hurts series!
Another super fun read by Sawyer Bennett. The Love Hurts series is lighthearted with some serious sexy time.
Jilted is a great story of second chance love. Eden & Coop were high school & college sweethearts split apart by life. They both went on to be super successful in their individual worlds but always had a part of themselves missing.
This is a great read & I can't wait for more in this series. The books are stand alone.

THIS.WAS.HOT.
And romantic.
And also a little kinky.
And funny.
It was perfect
And of course, it was Sawyer Bennett
I’m a huge fan of this author. I can’t understand how she manages to write so many books, in so many series, or so different genres, and every time, I love it.
Sawyer Bennet is just one of those authors you KNOW will always deliver a great story. Every time.
I read JILTED this weekend, I had a great moment diving into this story, Eden and Coop were so perfect together, a great second Chance story, with really hot moments.
Once again. The perfect mix of drama, angst, humor, tenderness and steamy (oh yes!!) scenes.
Now I just have to wait for her next book!
Eden's been humiliated by the papparazzi and her ex-fiance, so she runs to her small home town to lick her wounds. But the town isn't all that thrilled with the award-winning actess/model and everyone is giving her a hard time, including her former boyfriend, Cooper.
Cooper and Eden were high school sweethearts but when Eden is "discovered" while they are in college, they couldn't make a long-distance relationship work and parted ways. Turns out they have to stay in fairly close quarters when she finally makes it home, and that rekindles a lot of the feelings between them.
They fool themselves into thinking they can have a relationship with an expiration date, but the old feelings are still strong and what was meant to "scratch an itch" turns into a a big mess once they declare their feelings for each other.
I really liked this. It's sweet. Eden is likable and Cooper is too. It captures a nice slice of life and what it can be like to go home again. The drama is resolved quickly, and Jilted is a feel-good read that you can finish in a day or two. There aren't a lot of surprises, but that's okay. Jilted is a delightful second chance romance that left me smiling.

Loved!
Whether we were glimpsing the Eden and Coop of 14 years earlier, seeing their feud at the beginning of the present portion of the book, or enjoying their "friendship" and "rebound sex" later on (ha! as if it was ever just either of those things), Eden and Coop are absolutely magic together. There wasn't a single time when I would have entertained the possibility of them not having an HEA, no matter where their lives and careers wanted to take them.
Though I know this series (Love Hurts) is a series of standalone books, I absolutely would not complain if we went back for a second visit to Newberry--Missy could use an HEA, after all (sure, she was with a hot fireman when her lousy ex returned that one time, but no mention of him was made other than that, so...) and I'd really, really, REALLY like to see someone give Ashley a much deserved b!tch slap.
Just sayin'.

Review
14 years ago, Eden Goodnight gave up her first love and small town living to chase her dreams in Hollywood, trading in her southern charm and cowboy boots for the glitz and glamour of California, and while she’s definitely made a name for herself as a model and an actress, she’s never truly felt at home in LA because she’ll always be a small-town Georgia girl at heart - one who doesn’t completely buy into the kind of lifestyle she’s meant to have as a movie star beauty, especially when her picture perfect life and loving fiancé aren’t anything like she’s led herself and the public to believe.
Cooper Mayfield is the guy Eden left behind all those years ago, and since the day they called it quits, he’s vowed to live his life as a casual dater, never giving his heart to another girl because he’s never fully recovered from losing Eden, and he never wants to put himself in that position again.
But in a twist of fate, Eden finds herself back in Newberry, and that’s when things get interesting because the people of her hometown aren’t really welcoming and her contact with Cooper is definitely a bit too much in your face, turning her childhood home into more of a war zone than a place of comfort and memories.
Lately, I’ve been on a second chance romance reading kick, and Sawyer Bennett’s newest release fits into that category perfectly. Despite the fact that Eden and Cooper don’t know much about the grown up versions of one another, the history they share isn’t something than can remain dormant when they’re constantly placed in each other’s paths, and as much as they both would like to deny that the feelings they once had for one another don’t belong in the present, it’s clear from the very beginning that a fling with a time limit still won’t be able to stop their hearts from becoming a factor in their rebound sexual relationship because they’ve always been each other’s soulmates, which means that this time around, they might be able to get things right, even though they live in very different worlds and aren’t willing to give up the lives they’ve created for themselves even when their hearts want this second chance at their first time love.
Cooper Mayfield is one dirty talking hero, and he definitely has a new set of skills when it comes to the various ways he can manipulate a woman’s body, and while he hasn’t been a saint since he and Eden called it quits, his sinful words and his devilish fingers and cock are only part of the complete package he now brings into this new relationship with Eden.
The way Sawyer Bennett presented Eden’s less than stellar homecoming and the reasons behind it worked well with the story line and in contrasting the 18 year old Eden with the Hollywood princess version that “supposedly” returns to Newberry 14 years later, readers understand what Eden must overcome to feel like she belongs in a town she turned her back on and seemingly never looked back.
The fact that Bennett doesn’t hesitate to illustrate why Newberry citizens dislike her and then offers the truth amidst the hearsay also makes it easier for Cooper to get past what happened between them, focusing on the woman that Eden is now, allowing him to relearn the things about her he's always loved and combining those traits with the new revelations he learns, both in and outside their physical relationship.
Jilted is the perfect title for Eden and Cooper’s story because they both have had to endure being abandoned by those they love(d). But when a chance to make things right between them despite how different their lives are now as well as the contrasting aspects of LA to Newberry, Eden and Cooper would be completely nuts not to test the waters and figure out if a compromise can be made in order for a first love to finally get it right.

3.5 Stars
Sawyer Bennett is a favorite of mine. I like her characters and I like the situations they find themselves in, as they are realistic and believable. Although, in this book, I was less convinced than I usually am with the reality of the "reason" that was keeping them apart.
Eden and Cooper "Coop" have a history, a messy and painful breakup, and some misunderstanding between them. So, their initial meeting is less than positive and sparks (and clothes fly, but not a good way) and, as things often do, the more time they spend together, the more they start to think they may have misjudged one another.
I liked their chemistry and their attraction to one another, I liked how much it mattered to her that she was accepted in the town, and I liked how much the people around them mattered to both of them. They were both very likeable characters and you want things to work out for them.
I had an issue with, well, their main issue. I just didn't buy it as a deal breaker. Maybe because I live in Los Angeles and know how common it is for celebrities to not live here in LA...so the issue that they had to work out was never really an issue for me, and I thought it was blown up way out of proportion. I think I wanted something that was a little harder to solve, but with Eded's status as an actress, and her money, this really wasn't an issue at all.
Overall, I do recommend this title.
I loved Coop and Eden. They dated in high school and college but Eden was "discovered" by a talent agent and struck it big. She started traveling the world and could not keep up with her relationship with Coop. So they both decided to call it quits and go separate ways. 14 years later and Eden is engaged but finds out what an a** her fiancé is on the red carpet. He gets ousted by a paparazzo and humiliates Eden. She then returns to her hometown that she hasn't been to in a very long time. When she pulls up to her house that she inherited, she is met by Coop and an extremely outrageous surprise. This starts the fire between the two that never really went out. Loved their interactions together and how they didn't just jump back into a relationship. Another hit by Sawyer Bennett.
: JILTED is the second installment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult LOVE HURTS erotic, romance series. This is Academy Award winning actress Eden Goodnight, and landscaper/gardener Cooper Mayfield’s story line. JILTED can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.
Told from dual first person points of view (Eden and Cooper) JILTED focuses on the rekindling romance between former high school and college sweethearts Eden Goodnight, and Cooper Mayfield. Fourteen years earlier Eden Goodnight and Cooper Mayfield were in love: college sweethearts, making plans for the future when a talent scout from Hollywood changed Eden’s life forever. From the runway to the red carpet our heroine became the Hollywood ‘it’ girl. But a red-carpet humiliation by her fiancé and action star Brad Wright sent our heroine back home to small town Newberry, Georgia and into the arms of the man she has always loved. Enter Cooper Mayfield, the man Eden left behind for the bright lights and glamor of Hollywood and LA. What ensues is the rekindling romance between Eden and Cooper, Eden’s battle to be accepted by the people in her hometown of Newberry, Georgia, and Eden and Cooper’s struggle to remain a couple in the face of their diverging careers.
Eden Goodnight is a star whose reputation back home is something less than to be desired. Beautiful and talented, our heroine finds it difficult to assimilate back into Newberry Georgia-from the heartbreaking memories of her past and the town’s reluctance to welcome the actress with open arms Eden Goodnight struggles with her attraction to the man she could never forget. Cooper Mayfield has been angry for a very long time, betrayed by the only woman he would ever love, Cooper refuses to commit to one woman, let alone the woman who destroyed his heart.
The relationship between Cooper and Eden is one of second chances but their second chance at romance comes with too many ghosts of the past, and the belief that Eden has somehow disavowed the people back home. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense, erotic and seductive. There is plenty of back and forth in the early stages of their reintroduction not to mention the number of times their possessions end up in the hall, on the floor and out the bedroom window.
We are introduced to Eden’s former fiancé actor Brad Wright, and fellow actress Lilliana Prentice; Eden’s business manager Colleen O’Hearn; Cooper’s former fling Ashley Barton, bakery owner Missy Chambers, and several locals who try to make Eden’s life a living h*ll. The town of Newberry, Georgia feels betrayed by one of their own, and forgiveness comes when the truth is revealed.
JILTED is a story about one woman’s rise to fame, her fall from grace, and the man who would be there to pick up the pieces. There are moments heartbreak and humor, friendship and love, retribution and forgiveness. The premise is engaging, entertaining and energetic; the characters are dynamic and lively; the romance is passionate and inspiring. JILTED is a second chance romance with a spirited heroine and the man who is willing to sacrifice for the woman he loves.

"I have no clue what this means, but I know it means something if the butterflies in my stomach are any indication."
For the second standalone book in her Love Hurts Series, Sawyer Bennett proved to us again how a second chance romance can be a sexy, and undeniable love story. We all know how much I enjoy Sawyer Bennett's books, and the ease in which she tells a story, so I don't need to drone on and on about how much I loved it. But I did. Of course! With Eden and Coop fighting such deep emotions while trying to overcome the past, this allows for a fun romp between two characters that have a past they can't escape.
When you fall in love with 'the one', your heart eventually leads you back, no matter your circumstances. That was most definitely true, whether she meant it or not, for Eden. With her escaping the glitz and the glamor of Hollywood after a very embarrassing night, she ended up right back where she came from and unfortunately, that came with the man she left behind in a whirlwind rise to fame. You can call it fate, you can call it chance, you can call it whatever you like....but I totally love to believe in destiny and everything happening for a reason.
Even though this was easily predictable being a second chance romance, we got to wade through their ups and downs with some familiar feelings and circumstances creeping back in and this is where SB shines when she tells a story. The banter between the characters flowed easily, with and without attitude from them both, and the love story took shape almost immediately. It was fun, it was HOT, and it was a smile inducing introduction to these two lovers. I really enjoyed this book.
Man! I'll be completely honest: At first, I really didn't like how mean Coop was to Eden!! I was like, dude! You're a jerk! But as we dove deeper into the story, we started to see that besides being a defense mechanism for his own heart, he was actually a very good, very sexy southern gentleman with a dirty streak in him. He really was a naughty one between those sheets, I can and will admit that!! HA!! With Eden, her heart knew that Coop was hers, but she tried to talk herself out of it originally, and with a huge misunderstanding looming between them, we got to see her backbone, but also her sincerity as she righted all the wrongs. She knew who ultimately had her heart.
In the beginning, the push for them felt a little.....contrived, a little forced? Which is weird because I've always felt that SB's characters have naturally come together with ease. But this one, the way they first fell back into their "norm", it felt a little awkward for me at first. A little. Being quite childish in their fighting, these two had a few run-ins at first but I knew there was a story behind this hurt. Forced or not though, contrived or pushed....this book went from two hurt and irritable individuals to some quick soul searching and a sincere realization that their hearts knew what their stubborn minds didn't want to acknowledge at first and they fell into their groove.
I love SB's writing style and the light angst in this one, not much but slight. I like her sexy alphas and I enjoy the ease in her storytelling. She's always a guaranteed good read for me; one that I know I don't have to worry about being good. It's always a treat to sink into her books and get lost in her writing that never fails to make me smile. This one was no different. I loved this "reward".
"We seized our second chance and were granted the ultimate reward. Love."
Jilted is the second book in the Love Hurts series and while I liked it I just didn’t like it as much as the previous book. Now before you start thinking that I didn’t like it, I did, there was just something that was missing that kept me from loving it. I don’t know if some parts were just too slow paced for me or if at times the connection felt forced but while these were some of the issues I had I enjoyed it.
I hate when people judge others by what they think they know about them, and Eden suffers from just that when she returns to the small town she used to call home. Add into the mix her ex, Cooper, is at times a cocky asshole and only adds to her discomfort. While eventually I started to like Cooper it took a while to warm up to him.
While Jilted may not be my favorite book by Sawyer Bennett it is one that I think most people would enjoy.
Eden Goodnight went to Los Angeles to make it big, not to be publicly humiliated by her cheating fiancé at a red-carpet premiere. But when Eden returns to her hometown to put the scandal behind her, she can barely find a sympathetic shoulder to cry on. Turns out the locals are worse than the paparazzi, and they all think she’s turned into a spoiled brat. But in a strange twist of fate, the one person who seems to understand what Eden’s going through is Cooper Mayfield . . . the boy she left behind.
Small-town charm is no match for the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. At least that’s what Coop’s been telling himself all these years. As Eden’s old flame—and the landscaper for her family’s historic home—Coop feels some responsibility for getting her out of her funk. But as soon as he sees that million-dollar smile, he’s a goner. Soon they’re making out like teenagers again. But when a life-changing role falls into Eden’s lap, Coop just hopes she doesn’t give up on a love that’s meant to be.

Jilted reminded me of another book I just read and I couldn't figure out which one...You know how you have that happen and then you're left wondering through the whole book what other book it reminded you of? That was this one, but it was soo good it didn't matter. I enjoyed every moment. This book is about Eden, who's an actress and she's engaged to Brad (who's a weasel) and she finds out at this movie premiere that he's screwing around with his co-star. She goes running home only to find that her high school ex-boyfriend has moved into her family home and she has to move in with him. While this book had excessive sex that sometimes had me skipping over it, I found the plot made up for it. I still say that Cold Fury is still my favorite series but that's okay because this was also good. I will always read anything and everything Sawyer.
