While this is the second book in the Love Hurts series this can comfortably be read on a stand alone basis.
This was an enjoyable second chances romance with great likeable characters. I found myself hooked into the story straight away and my attention never wavered to the point that I actually finished this book in one sitting. I loved the country setting of the book and for me this was a really sweet and charming romance with a wickedly sexy and steamy side to it. I for one, enjoyed this book and would be happy to recommend it.
I was provided with a copy of this book from the Publisher via NetGalley; there was no inducement or obligation.
I love second chance romances and this book by Sawyer Bennett does not disappoint in the least! Cooper was such a great hero. I fell for him immediately. Eden it took me longer to get with. But I eventually got on board with the both of them and rooted for them.
If you love Sawyer Bennett books you will for sure want to pick this one up.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book provided by NetGalley.
OMFG I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!! I loved it so much that I actually fear for this review because it might just be a bunch of rambling that makes entirely no sense and all you can understand is that I LOVED THIS BOOK!
This time around I was given the opportunity to participate in the blog tour for this book and I am so glad that I did this. I was a little deterred after reading the first book in the series, Sex in the Sticks (link to my review). Just because I was slightly disappointed with it, but it was still a solid read for me.
Jilted is definitely my new favorite book by Sawyer Bennett, like I could seriously just rave on and on about this book! I already love the concept of the series “Love Hurts” because like I said it my last review it surely does freaking suck. But my goodness did I love pretty much everything about this book. I would say everything but there was 1 minor detail I didn’t like. I FREAKING HATED THE FEMALE CHARACTERS NAME!!!! Eden Goodnight. Like really? WTF is that? Just no. LOL But minor details.
Coop on the other hand… I LOVED EVERY SINGLE THING ABOUT THIS MAN! He’s so gosh darn yummy! Swooning harder than I’ve swoon in a long time! The poor thing had his heart broken and did the typical male, bang and shoo them away. Which is cool, I get it. But the way he was with Eden was just everything! Like Please Dear Lord SEND ME A COOPER MAYFIELD!
This seems like the perfect time to share a little teaser with y’all so you can get a little, tiny glimpse of why I love Coop! ❤
Jilted Teaser #2.jpg
Speaking of good ole Coop. Let’s take a moment to savor that cover! The lord knows I would be the happiest girl on earth to get myself a fine looking man like that! *drools*
My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE THING about this book was that I could see a lot of myself in both of the main characters. Especially when it comes to their ways for coping with heartbreak. I was a little of Eden and a WHOLE LOT OF COOP. It was nice to see myself in a love story like this, tbh. There were many learning moments for me because of this.
The sex scenes in this book were on fire! As per usual with Sawyer Bennett, I have come to expect nothing less. If you have young eyes, please shield yourself from this next sentence. BUT make sure you have you a hunny or a battery operated friend while reading this book! It’s just that sexy!
The time jump at the end of the book was freaking everything!!!! I was so happy and I actually got all teary-eyed. IT WAS AWESOME! It was nice to see compromising being important in this relationship and that you can make a relationship to work when you both are willing to put in the effort. It really gives me hope.
This book did not disappoint in any way! I can’t wait to see what Sawyer Bennett has in store for us next in this series, but my expectation are kind of high now that I’ve read Jilted and I’ve been raving about it to everyone!
What an amazing second chance story. Eden is an award winning actress in the prime of her career, engaged to a huge action star....but on the red carpet of his movie premiere all of that shatters when she finds out her fiancé has been cheating on her. She runs away and then comes the drama from that. But typical of what you hear about Hollywood, which I like that it seems realistic. She ends up back in her SMALL hometown, and finds out she has to share a house with her first love whom she hasn't really talked to in 14 years. Let's just say most of the town, Coop included isn't happy to see her.
Her and Coop though have this undeniable chemistry and their battle early on had me cracking up, I think it is fate that made them want to sleep together again. And when you get back with your first love anything can happen.
This is a book of first love, redemption, faith, friendship and a little bit of everything. Once I started this book I could not put it down, it was that good. You will not be disappointed if you read Coop and Eden's story.
This was an absolutely amazing second chance romance and I loved every single second. I couldn't get enough of Eden and Cooper. This was highly entertaining, super sweet, and ultra sexy.
I cannot begin to say enough good things. I loved Eden and Cooper. I was excited about everything and was inhaling every detail. I loved getting to learn about their past and watch them come back together in the present. It was emotional, there was a bit of angst, and I loved their awkward reunion. The development was excellent. All the details of them reconnecting and getting to know each other was great. I thought Cooper and Eden had great character development and I loved getting to see their past and present selves. They're both strong, independent characters, and I was rooting for them. I loved the conversations between Eden and Cooper, they were just so full of goodness and fun. You could feel their chemistry. It was awesome watching their connection grow as their attraction ignites.
Excellent writing and pace. I loved the dual POVs. The story was fun and sexy and super hot. I flew threw it because I didn't want to put it down but I tried to pace myself because I didn't want it to end. Besides the fun, there is a lot of emotion as well and bits of drama. There was a great blend of everything I love that kept the story moving along perfectly. Fantastic ending too. It was emotional with a heart stopping moment and the most perfect conclusion.
So entertaining with heartfelt moments. Fantastic writing, details, build, descriptions, humor, fun, and heat. Loved it all! I loved the first book, Sex in the Sticks, but I have to say that Jilted had a slightly different feel to me, a bit more emotional with a deeper connection between the main characters, and I have to say I loved it more! You can’t go wrong with Sawyer Bennett!
This love story is so beautifully written. Coop and Eden were childhood sweethearts in every sense, separated only by her need to venture beyond their hometown and his need to stay where his roots were. When a crisis sends Eden back to her roots to regroup, she and Coop realize their lives without each other could never compare to what they have together.
Sawyer Bennett is a master at creating characters and environments that feel absolutely authentic. She's also one of the best at writing hot, steamy, scorching love scenes - everything from quick and dirty to slow and gentle and everything (and I do mean everything) in between. The scene at her house in LA was so hot it almost set my Kindle on fire.
This romance was so emotionally satisfying, as both Coop and Eden stay true to their own paths while finally being able to work out their HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is a second chance romance that, as always with a Sawyer Bennett book, hits all the right spots, at least for me. The writing as usual is very good, the plot was simple and yet not so. It is a familiar trope, but one that to me she brings new life too. Eden and Coop were high school sweethearts and even started college together, but a modeling career and then acting career took Eden to New York and Hollywood where she made a name for herself. Because of a jilted relationship in Hollywood, she returns to her hometown in Georgia to escape and lick her wounds. Coop never left their hometown, returning after college, and made a nice living there. The attraction remained when Eden came home, and this is the meat of the story. I liked both main characters in this book. I did feel like the secondary characters were a bit stereotyped but that is a very minor squawk for me. Overall, an enjoyable story and one I have come to expect from this author. Thanks to the author and publisher for allowing me to read this for an honest review.
This is a great book; this is the second book in the Love Hurts series and written by Sawyer Bennett. Eden Goodnight went to Los Angeles to make it big, not to be publicly humiliated by her cheating fiancé at a red-carpet premiere. But when Eden returns to her hometown to put the scandal behind her, she can barely find a sympathetic shoulder to cry on. Turns out the locals are worse than the paparazzi, and they all think she’s turned into a spoiled brat. But in a strange twist of fate, the one person who seems to understand what Eden’s going through is Cooper Mayfield . . . the boy she left behind. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
Coop and Eden get their second chance when Eden finds out her fiance cheated on her. To get away, Eden goes back home to Newberry, Georgia, but it's been 14 years since she lived there. Fourteen years since her first love with Cooper Mayfield. Fourteen years since she felt like she wasn't alone. They rekindle their relationship and it's hot, sexy, and romantic. When Eden's fabulous lifestyle as an actress threatens to take her away from Coop, he realizes he can't let her get away again.
This story was sweet, sexy, sassy with hotness. Great second chance romance, standalone.
Jilted (Love Hurts #2) by Sawyer Bennett
4 stars!!!
“This is the start of my reclaiming, and I feel like the possibilities are endless…”
Jilted is a second chance romance from Sawyer Bennett, one of my favourite tropes. The story of Eden and Cooper is hilarious at times and swoon worthy at others. This was a light, quick, easy romantic read, that while predictable, the dialogue and interactions between Eden and Cooper had me thoroughly entertained throughout. This was trademark Sawyer Bennett and once again, I loved it.
Second chance romances are great because the couples actually know each other, they know all the boring getting to know you stuff already, that previous chemistry and attraction is normally always ever present and while these two had that hate/love/hate initially bubbling, you knew from even those interactions it was just a manifestation of guilt and anger as to why they didn’t work the first time around.
“I lost you once, and it was an unbearable pain. But for some reason, God graced me with you again. You were brought back into my life as a precious gift that’s meant to be treasured…revered.”
Eden Goodnight is a Hollywood Oscar winning actress, she left Cooper and their small town behind to pursue her dreams. A talent scout found Eden when she was eighteen and she soon became a much sought-after model, her career just escalated and then she caught the movie bug. Eden and Cooper tried to make it work long distance, but it never worked. Cooper became resentful of her absence and Eden didn’t want to string him along and so they agreed to split, neither what they wanted, both distraught and both have never really moved on.
Cooper was a small-town boy destined to take over the family landscaping business and that is exactly what he is doing now many years on. Cooper has no inclination to move, he is happy in the life he lives, if not a little lonely. Cooper has never been attached since Eden left, she left her scars and as such Cooper is purely in it for some female company to scratch the itch.
When Eden’s life capitulates and she is humiliated on the red carpet, she runs to the small town she used to call home. It is not long before hers and Coopers paths cross and it isn’t pretty. Misunderstandings, resentment and anger have left Eden the town pariah and the welcome home she thought she would get never materialised. Now feeling lonelier than ever before Eden has to put on her big girls’ panties and the fight is fantastic.
“Coop was the ultimate package back when we were eighteen, and he only aged better.”
Second chance romances are great in the fact that you don’t have to deal with that getting to know you phase and Sawyer Bennett gave us just enough of their past to ensure the reader was settled in just how intense and long their first relationship was, making their quick morph to lovers in the present acceptable and believable. These two were a golden couple in the past and I really felt that throughout. That intense spark and chemistry was ever present and as with any Sawyer Bennett book this one was seriously hot!! There are lot of sex scenes and Sawyer Bennett had her imagination running wild in this mansion they live in. Seriously hot, intense and most importantly totally engaging.
I loved these two as a couple, I felt their connection from the very beginning and this never waned throughout the book. While their professions are chalk and cheese this book was all about compromise and what would you do all in the name of love. Loved it.

Second chance romances are hands down one of my favorite tropes. When I saw the blurb for Jilted I was immediately intrigued. Hollywood "It" girl and a local hometown boy? Sign me up!
Eden was nothing like I expected her to be-and I was completely ok with that. When the book started I wasn't sure I was going to like her very much, to be honest. But she won me over by the third chapter. She was tough, but she had to be tough. I really wound up sympathizing and cheering for her-which I thought I'd be doing right away based on the blurb. She grew on me for sure.
Full disclosure here about Coop. I REALLY thought I was going to instantly love this hero. I was ready to swoon, to fall head over heels the second he came onto the page. But I didn't initially. It wasn't that he was a self-proclaimed manwhore, or a guy who claims not to do relationships. I mean, that's a pretty common character, right? But there was just something that held me back from falling for him right away. However, he completely redeemed himself. Completely and totally redeemed himself to me.
As these two really began to reconnect, to fall back into old patterns, that's when I started rooting for them. There was just no denying their chemistry together. The sex between these two is scorching hot. Kindle melting hot. And I love that. But I also loved seeing them work through their differences outside of the bedroom. Seeing that southern charm come into play and so on. I really loved them together.
There was a bit of drama here that I just didn't think was necessary. It didn't really add to the story and kind of took me out of it a bit, which is why I'm rating this a four.
I like Sawyer Bennett's writing style. I love that this book is told in dual POV so that we truly see what each character is feeling and going through. I laughed, fanned myself and really did swoon overall. I recommend this book.
I absolutely adored this book Jilted. Sawyer does a fantastic job making the characters come to life you won't want to put the book down.
This is pretty much your small town second chance book but with its own little twist. Eden left her town and everything in it when she had her big break. This includes Cooper the love of her life whom she was going to spend the rest of her life with. Eden and Cooper were the complete opposites. They come from completely different backgrounds but that did not stop them from falling in love. Eden leaves everything to get her big break.
Eden becomes completely successful throughout her career. She has everything she could possibly need except happiness. She always felt lonely. My heart broke for her when she reveals what she's truly feeling inside. Being a big shot, she still wants to feel like a part of someone. Growing up she didn't have that once her parents were gone. She essentially grew up alone. Until cooper that is. When Edens current life takes a turn of events she runs back to the one place she fled from.
I was thinking when Eden went back home for a break everyone would welcome her. But that wasn't the case. No one liked her. At all. But when and unusual circumstance puts Eden and Cooper under the same roof, all hell will break loose. I loved how their meeting after so many years played out and what transpired between them. I laughed, I cried, I swooned and I got a bit angry at some things. When all misunderstandings are cleared, Eden has her fresh start. And let me tell you, there were a lot of misunderstandings. I loved Cooper! He stood his ground with Eden and didn't let her suck him back into the past. You can truly see that they bring out the best in one another. And together they over come what transpired in the past and try to move forward.
But when Eden gets another big break, it's like deja vu all over again. Will she continue to run? Or will she stay and fight? Is her relationship with Cooper worth it all? Will cooper just let her go or will he stop her this time?
The chemistry between the two are off the charts. I loved them both. I mean Eden became more likable to me when she was with Cooper. The true side of her comes out. Eden had one friend from the bakery who befriended her when everyone hated her. She's awesome and she deserves her happy ever after too. That is one book I would love to see come to life.
This review was done by Jenn. I received an advanced copy for my honest review.
Eden and Cooper were together before Eden went to Los Angeles to make it big. But in the process her fiance' infidelity was exposed on the red carpet premiere. She flees home to find that everyone is mad at her for who knows what except Cooper the boy she left behind.
Cooper has always had it bad for Eden but he never felt he wouldn't survive the glitz and glamour of Hollywood; he is a small town guy through and through. Cooper is the landscaper for Eden's family’s historic home. Coop sees her again and he is a goner for her all over again. It isn't long until they are acting like hot horny teenagers again.Coop is in fear of history repeating itself when he knows Eden is it for him. What happens when a life-changing role falls into Eden’s lap?
I really loved this book. It was so good. I loved that she is jilted and she figures out that it was a blessing in disguise; she realizes the truth. I loved that these two pick up where they left off and you can still feel their love and all the years apart. It a romantic love story of having it all the career you love and the other half of your dreams. I love this author and how she writes. The characters are developed and it flows smoothly throughout the book. A great book.
Jilted by Sawyer Bennett is book two in her Love Hurts series, and it is a fun, contemporary romance that will have you believing in second chances (and thirds), and completely smiling with how sweet the ending is.
Eden Goodnight left her small-hometown of Newberry, Georgia to pursue modeling and acting, but most of all, she left her first love, Cooper Mayfield, who broke up with her when a long distance relationship became too hard. Now, an Oscar-award winning actress, and the “It” girl in Hollywood, Eden is now engaged to be married. When she learns of her fiancée’s infidelity in the middle of the red carpet, she soon finds herself going back to her family home, Goodnight House, to wait out the gossip and embarrassment. However, home is not as comforting as she thought it would be and an unwelcome surprise in the form of Coop Mayfield is waiting for her home.
Cooper Mayfield is a landscaper, who took over his father’s business, after his father passed away. Living in Goodnight House, he is surprised when Eden Goodnight walks back into his life. Soon he and Eden are living under the same roof and old feelings he thought were buried are alive and kicking. Soon he and Eden are getting to know each other again and falling in love, but when the reality of Eden’s life as an actress comes back to haunt them will history repeat itself?
I enjoyed Sawyer Bennett’s Jilted. The first half with Eden and Cooper at odds with each other especially in regards to Goodnight House, and Coop’s unknown hurts and misconceptions towards Eden, made me think of the movie Sweet Home Alabama and the characters of Melanie and Jake. The moments in the beginning with finding out they’ll be living together were fun and humorous. I also liked Missy, the owner of Missy’s Cupcake Gallery and an old high school classmate. Missy and Eden have a good friendship within the story that I enjoyed and found added to the story as well, especially as a good break from the steamy chapters of Eden and Cooper. I even liked Colleen, especially at the end of the novel. She got a high-five from me for her stunt with the airport. To find out what I mean, I definitely recommend reading the book.
Overall, Jilted by Sawyer Bennett is an enjoyable novel that is fun, hot, and full of romance. I loved the characters of Eden and Cooper and how great they were together as a couple. I very much recommend this novel and can’t wait to read more from Ms. Bennett.
(I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)
Jilted is a cute, second chance love story that reminds you to never forget where you came from. Sometimes they're he only ones that will have your back.
I'm going to say what I liked about it first. I loved Coop and I liked Eden. The plot was intriguing and I liked it enough to not dnf it. I liked the drama in it. It was enough but not too much to take away from the story. It just didn't keep me interested. I wasn't turning the pages like I should. I found myself putting down Jilted more often than reading and that's not a good sign for me. I love Sawyer. LOVE HER. So I think it was an off day for me. I'll return to this later and reread.
This review has to start at the end because I loved the ending so much! I mean obvi no spoilers, but it was pretty epic.
Ok so this is a second chance romance told from both points of view with a happy ending. You've got Eden Goodnight, and with a name like that who is surprised she ended up in Hollywood? So years ago she was dating and in love with Cooper Mayfield but they couldn't make the distance thing work. Well after being totally embarrassed by her loser fiance' in front of everyone, she needs to re-evaluate some things back in her home town.
Not only did I enjoy the rekindling of an old flame, but I love stories where they return home after years. She's changed, the people have changed, but small towns pretty much stay the same. Oh, I loved the owner of the sweet shop too! So yeah, I totally recommend this book because
1. It's Sawyer Bennett so duh
2. Crazy exes which always provide entertainment
3. Sexy times and swoonworthy moments
Not necessarily in that order. I loved it.
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
*thank you to the author and the publisher for providing an arc**
Jilted is about second chances and what people will do when they get the opportunity to try again. Sawyer Bennett spins the tale of high school sweethearts who both decide they want different things and decide to go their separate ways. But what happens when one of them comes back to town and changes everything you know. You get caught up in Eden and Coop's story and while you understand why they decide to keep things causal, you can't help but hope for more. Come on over to the town of Newberry and see what happens Hollywood's favorite star and Newberry's favorite son are back together again.
Eden Goodnight has just had the worse night in Hollywood and the only thing she wants to do is go back to her hometown for a couple months and get away from the drama. But going back home isn't all she thought it would be especially after the chilly reception she receives and the unwelcome knowledge that her high school sweetheart now lives in her family home.
Coop Mayfield loves his town of Newberry, GA and especially loves his job as a landscaper and designer. He has everything he has ever wanted right here, that is until Eden comes back to town and changes everything. After a few tense moments in the beginning and finding out that there was a mix up with an request from Eden, Coop knows he can't stay away from her and vice versa. When they decide to use each other as rebound sex they both think they have come up with the perfect solution.
But as time goes by, they can't ignore their feelings for each other and begin to realize that maybe they never stopped loving one another. The only problem is the same reasons on why they broke up years ago are still between them and when one of them takes a chance on trying to make it work will the other one say yes? Or will they decide that it still too much work and they need to just move on?
My 4.5 star review is posted on Goodreads. It will be posted on blog and social media on review and excerpt tour on July 11 and links will be updated below at that time. UPDATED 7/11/17

Although this is the second in the Love Hurts series, it is totally not related and has completely different characters so can be read as a stand-alone.
Eden Goodnight is a famous Hollywood actress who seems to have it all--a handsome famous fiance, money, career, and an Oscar. But when she is humiliated by her fiance, she takes off to hide out in her old hometown of Newberry, Georgia where she has mostly avoided since she left fourteen years ago. This brings her face to face with her first love, Coop Mayfield. They were deeply in love, but broke up due to her leaving for her career and unable to make long distance work. He now works as a landscape architect and owns a business in Newberry. He is the town playboy and most wanted bachelor, but he does not do serious relationships.
Her return to town is full of surprises. She also meets some hostility and she does not even know why. There are a series of misunderstandings between her, Coop, and the town that eventually come to light. Eden and Coop initially have some battles, but soon the intense interactions begin swinging towards lust. Once they call a truce, the sexual tension heats up. What harm could some rebound sex do? No strings. Limited time frame. Win-Win.
Their physical relationship is explosive and passionate. They also laugh and enjoy each other. But as both begin to get comfortable and feel again, the expiration date looms. There is also some outside drama creating some challenges.
Eden is sweet, sassy, and caring. She has a life many would envy, but did not realize how much she is missing. Coop starts out broody, surly, and kind of mean. But he begins to show his sexy, dirty talking, protective, and vulnerable side. I liked them together, but it was easy to see they were eventually going to end up in the same hard position they did in the past.
What happens when the time has come for her to return to filming while his roots are strongly planted in Georgia? Both are pretty stubborn and set in their own opinions.
This heartwarming, second-chance love story takes you from the glamour of LA to a close-knit small town in Georgia. It is quick, fun, sexy, and sweet. I liked some of the side characters, but there are a couple that I really wanted to smack, but they are part of the drama. It was told in dual points of view from both the main characters that are likable and have history. I enjoyed their banter and chemistry. It is light-hearted with just enough emotion, drama, and swoon. It's a cute summer read if you want something not overly angsty or heavy.
I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I normally love all things Sawyer Bennett, and I absolutely adored the first book in this series so I was thrilled to jump into this one when I received it. Unfortunately I called it quits around 40% because I just didn't find myself caring about these characters enough to see it through to completion. There were some entertaining moments between Eden and Cooper when she first arrived back at her home but beyond that, several of the characters annoyed me more than anything else. Perhaps it was just my mood at the time, but I won't be finishing this book.
I wasn't a huge fan of the first book in this series but I was curious about this title and of course a good second chance romance feel. That cover is not bad too. Highschool sweethearts and Hollywood starlet make for a not so usual pair. But we find out Eden has small town roots not like many other actors. I enjoyed this one more than the first I will say I liked the heroine better she knows she did wrong. Plus I like the chemistry better between Eden and Coop.
The mall discovered models aren't always a success story but Eden managed that and then some. No welcome home committee for her upon her return to Newberry due to many reasons. I'll be honest I had a Sweet Home Alabama image in mind ìn this story but no Coop is not a glass maker. I think his job is cool too. At first their meeting is awkward after how they parted ways. Their chemistry is still there. Which leads to a lot of sexy times. Maybe a little too much and detailed for my tastes. I wasn't totally sold on them but I see them have solid interactions outside the bedroom at least.
But the lines eventually blur and they in a limbo of some kind of rebound sex relationship. Eventually they get to thinking about what really kept them apart and what they feel now. They do have a lot to get through of they want things to work the second time around. The timing is better but can they let go of old hurts and things learned from the past.
I liked this one a tad bit more not angsty light hearted pretty sweet at times. This one reminds me more of that Saywer Bennett feel I enjoy. The ending was pretty sweet and rounded it out.
