Eden and Coop were high school sweethearts and lovers. Then Eden is discovered by a modeling agency, drops out of college after one semester and heads to L.A. Cooper stays in college knowing he’s going home to help run the family business. They try to make long distance work but it doesn’t.
Fast forward 14 years. Eden is a mega movie star engaged to another big star. While walking the red carpet, she discovers he’s been cheating. She flees back to her small hometown to relax and regroup. When she arrives back at her family home, she discovers Coop is living there too.
Coop is running the family business and is quite the manwhore. We get too much detail on this. It made me really not like him.
These two fall into bed together rather quickly, but not before establishing this is just a rebound fling with an expiration date. There is a lot of sex, not much talking, with small town attitudes and interference.
The story is light with a predictable HEA, simple characters and no complex story line. I did like it a little more than the first book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by the publisher and NetGalley.
After discovery that her fiance cheated on her during a red carpet appearance, Eden Goodnight decides to get out of dodge (California) and go back home to Newberry, Georgia. Little did she know, when she shows up to the home she grew up in, her first love, Coop Mayfield is also occupying residence there.
Coop and Eden were each others first love, but when a modeling scout wanted Eden to walk the runway, they couldn't make their relationship work and although they ended on "good terms" Coop has never really let another woman to take residence in his heart but rather his bed. Their reunion wasn't one to be missed for sure, but after they set some rules, it's all about rebound sex.
I love second chance romance. I knew sparks were going to be on fire between Eden and Coop that's for sure. And although was upset about the ex-fiance's cheating, she really wasn't in love with him anyway. There was funny moments at the beginning between Eden and Coop and the sexy times was hot. I think I wanted a bit more angst. Overall, if you're looking for a second chance at love, add Jilted to your Summer read.

GAH! Just finished another sweet and romantic novel from Sawyer Bennett. This is one of those authors that I rely on whenever I want a dose of cute, light-hearted, sexy romance and she BRINGS IT every single time.
This one is a second chance romance – Hollywood leading lady reunited with her childhood love — a boy she left behind. Eden and Coop were young lovers but when Eden got offered a modeling job she could not turn it down. A few days of shoots turned into months away and eventually Eden had to make a choice to come home or follow her career – she chose the latter.
Eden has successful career but she was not lucky in love as she was publicly humiliated by her cheating fiancé. Eden decided to come home for a quiet retreat but her life is about to get even more complicated when she comes face to face with a gorgeous, sexy, all grown up Coop… fanning self … Seriously, Coop is a total package – young, sexy, sweet, caring, and supportive … Their break up was mutual but Coop never fell out of love with Eden. Even with the misunderstanding and the town hating on Eden, Coop was always protective and stood by Eden’s side – totally swoony, right? I like Eden – I know it sounds like she left Coop behind but it wasn’t as simple. Long distance relationships are hard for young lovers so something has to give. When Eden chooses a career over Coop it was the hardest decision she had to make. For years, Coop has always been in her heart. Now that the two reunited, how would Eden and Coop deal with balancing careers and their relationship? Coop and Eden have different lives, aren’t they back to square one?
I really fell in love with Coop and Eden’s love story. When I heard that Jilted is a story about a movie star I was skeptical but their story felt real and genuine. The chemistry and passion they share is undeniable and ignites rather quickly once they see each other again. Eden is a bit misunderstood but she really is beautiful inside and out. I love that Eden is a super star but she never forgets her roots. I am a sucker for second chance romance and Jilted was perfect – sweet, swoony, great banters, plenty of angst, passion and sexual tension. Of course, I love the happy ending – I live for it!!!
Highly recommend this book – quite an enjoyable and entertaining weekend read.
Country girl Eden Goodnight leaves her much loved boyfriend behind for a modeling career, dropping out of college while he stays. Cooper is steady and knows what he wants and he wants to stay in their small town in Georgia. They try long distance but it doesn't work and their break up so painful, neither one really recovered. Cooper is the more bitter having sex only brief hook ups, while Eden has moved on to Hollywood, an Oscar under her belt but she's still always alone.
She meets someone, another actor who makes her feel safe which is what she craves, they become engaged quickly against her better judgement and the end all was on the night of his big movie premier a photographer asks her how she feels about the pictures of her fiancé with his co star in various intimate photos. He shoves them at her and she goes ballistic. I applauded her. Then she goes ballistic on the co-star and shows her husband the photos. Meanwhile the boyfriend acts like a complete a@@ and Eden decides she's had enough and heads back home to her family homestead in Georgia only to find Cooper living there. After her parents died, she was left in the care of her cold selfish grandmother who couldn't be bothered with her. Coop was there for her. She couldn't figure out why he's living there when he nastily tells her that he owns half the house, that it's in the will and had she bothered to even stay around long enough after her grandmother died she'd have known.
Coop was a real jerk for a good part of the book. And highly oversexed. I thought a lot of the scenes were unnecessary to the story, they took away from the dialogue between these two.
They've agreed to a rebound relationship from 14 years ago. There's some drama in town first with the towns people themselves along with a girl that Coop was bedding but getting ready to dump. Someone from high school. She was long past a woman scorned, she was flat out nuts. Thankfully Sawyer kept her appearances few.
The story peaks when Eden has to fulfill a contractual obligation and Coop tells her not to bother coming back. She's hurt, angry and leaves right after he walks away to shower. She refuses to answer his calls and texts and I really felt bad for her, for the first time in the book. She was a likable character, Coop grew on you, when he was nice he was great, when the rubber hit the road and things didn't go his way he was a complete jerk.
This is a quick read, you can skip over the sex scenes after while because they're redundant. The plot had great bones. Maybe not Sawyer's best, but give it a read.
3.5 stars from me.
**arc from NetGalley and Loveswept in exchange for a fair review**
This was an enjoyable read. The first book in the series had more heart to it, but this one was just as light and fun despite the title of "Jilted".
It's a second chance romance with Eden coming back to her hometown to get away from negative attention from her cheating ex. With her famous persona, her hometown was the best place to go to get out of the spotlight, which is where she runs into her childhood sweetheart.
There's a bit of drama with the town due to a misunderstanding and some more drama with Coop's latest fling, but nothing that took away from my enjoyment of the story. And it had a cute epilogue!
I recommend this if your looking for a quick, fun read. ARC provided by NetGalley.
If you have to find out your fiance has cheated on you, definitely hope you don't hear about in the middle of the red carpet while you are both walking into the premiere of his latest film. As a famous film actress, you have learned to control your features and not give anything away, but this is more than a human being can take!
Eden has spent the last fourteen years of her life building her career. She was a successful model first and then seamlessly made the switch to Hollywood and never looked back. It took a lot of hard work and sacrifice. Never had she felt so betrayed.
Going home to Newberry, Georgia was meant to help her think and plan her future. Solitude was all she wanted, never dreaming of finding her past lover living in her ancestral home. Coop was still as handsome as ever. Now she would have to deal with her past as well as her present and she was too vulnerable to cope.
Sawyer Bennett has a hit here. This story is not like the weepy stories of second chances you encounter out there. Her characters are strong, determined, and full of heart. These are two people who were once in love and could not work out the logistics of living at two opposite sides of the country. Meeting again stirs a lot of emotions, secrets, and dreams, but it does not solve the original problem. The journey these two characters must take is what makes this story so fantastic.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I thank the author for sharing a copy of her book with me.
Oh Em Gee, this book was so good! Eden Goodnight has come home after being jilted in a public way and is astonished with the hostile welcome, or unwelcome, she receives. Not only that but someone is living in her home and it is Cooper Mayfield, the man she broke up with 14 years previously and really the only one she has truly loved. What starts out as crazy antics turns into an understanding and ultimately "recovery sex" that turns to more. This is a second chance romance that hits all the right buttons and whistles and is better than Missy's cupcakes! I did not want this one to end, it was so good...
I highly recommend this one!

I'm really liking this series. I love the characters Sawyer Bennett writes. This was the perfect second chance romance.
Eden and Coop were high sweet hearts. They were happy and so in love. When an opportunity arises for Eden it's hard not to take it. That puts them having a long distance relationship. We all know those are hard.
Time has passed and fourteen years later Eden comes home and no one is happy she's back. Coop wasn't expecting to see her again and doesn't keep up with her career.
They decide to have a relationship with an expiration date. Once it's time for Eden to go back to LA the relationship is over.
This was a sweet and steamy story I couldn't put down. I love second chance romances. I loved this couple and couldn't help but root for them.
I had so much fun reading this story! It's light and relatively low on angst. The banter is snappy and the chemistry between Eden and Coop sparked out of control almost immediately. It was easy to connect with their story and easy to root for them as a couple. They were completely likable and sexy. Like...dirty sexy. *fans self* H-O-T hot in a way that I wasn't really expecting but had no trouble jumping on board with (because...damn.).
While it's technically the second book in the Love Hurts series, Jilted works as a comlete standalone. I was on the fence about sticking with this series because I struggled a bit with the first book, Sex in the Sticks. I am so glad I stuck with it though because Jilted was a much more satisfying read for me. Not a perfect read - there were times I found myself skimming ahead because I felt like it dragged a bit - but I was never frustrated with the characters or turned off in any sort of way by their behavior. In fact, I rather adored Coop's growly alpha tendencies and Eden's spirited pluck. I found them quite adorable as they fumbled their way towards their happily ever after - stealing first each other's hearts, and then mine.
This was a really quick read, easily read in one sitting. It's a lovely second chance romance - light, funny, smokin' hot and the perfect entertainment on a sizzling summer day.

When Eden Goodnight has a very public break-up, she decides that to escape the blistering attention and the LA spotlight that she needs to return to her roots. But after a very un-welcome small-town greeting, she is lost now more than ever. To make matters worse, the one man she could never get over is impossible to avoid...
Cooper Mayfield has purposely ignored Eden's career success. Sure, he was once her closest friend, but once they decided to go their separate ways, it was just too painful for him to see her on a movie screen. He wishes her well, far away from him... until the day she returns to the town and community she left behind without a backward glance...
This was a great read! Eden loves her career, but her life is so lonely she just craves having a normal visit back in her hometown. But, when everyone is less than welcoming, she is completely confused as to why. Cooper is has a successful business and doesn't hurt for female companionship, but he has never again opened himself up to a woman like he had with Eden. When these two meet again after so many years apart, sparks fly... and not in a romantic way.
The storyline of this book was engaging and flowed extremely well. I loved the characters, the initial friction between Eden and Cooper and the super hot sex that resulted. With a second chance given to Eden and Cooper, will they ever be able to learn from their past mistakes, or will their time together just end up being a reminder of who they once were...
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Ohhh Eden and Cooper's story is a HOT MESS...of effing awesome sex and shenanigans!
Eeepp I love a second chance at love story...prob because that is how me and my hubby ended up ( well more like a 10th time at love story but whateves)
Eden and Cooper have a complicated past which they are dealing with now in the present. It is somewhat awkward and unconventional how they end up giving it another go.
When they do it's flat out unadulterated, petal to the metal, animalistic smashing (sex)!!!!
They are HAWWTT together like lite a match and watch it burn (but in a good way). I mean the things he does to her should be illegal in like three states. I mean we all know what is gonna happen, feelings...those damn feelings always get in the way of a good no strings smashing.
Also I must say reading this book...it made me think that Butt stuff was fun...like it should always be on the table...like not do the butt stuff on a table ( well I mean only if that is your thing) but you know like try the butt stuff...Coop made it look so awesome...anyway I am getting off track.
This is a must read book...I mean if only to learn how to try the butt stuff...LOL

4.5 Jilted Stars!
I say it every time I finish a book by this author...I LOVED IT! Ms. Bennett can not write a bad book. Ever. Just add Jilted to another favorite read of 2017.
Eden Goodnight and Cooper Mayfield were in love back when they were teenagers. But Hollywood came calling to Eden and it was an opportunity of a lifetime that she couldn't turn down. And with the long-distance relationship and fame, Eden and Cooper walked away from each other. They both didn't give into compromise.
Eden's glamorous celebrity lifestyle is not that fabulous at all. She may be the hottest star, but being in the limelight is lonely. And when her cheating and equally famous ex-fiancé publicly humiliates her, she goes into hiding in her small town. You think, being back home would be a great hideaway, but it's not. The town is not forgiving at all. They think Eden is way too good to be part of their town. And there is only one person who gives her the benefit of the doubt--and that's Cooper.
Cooper had only loved one woman and now she's walked back into his life. Eden is back and their banter is nothing more the hilarious. When these two get to know each other again, sparks fly all over. But nothing has changed--they both have separate careers in different places of the world. Can they both give it up for each other?
Jilted is all about forgiving and moving on. Another fantastic second chance romance story!
Wow! I really loved this book! Coop and Eden broke up 14 years earlier when she got a shot at stardom and the long distance romance wasn't working. Now, she's running home to Newberry, GA after being publicly jilted on the red carpet. Stunned to discover Coop is living in her family home, they eventually find their way back to each other.
One of the best reunion romances I have read in a while. Equal parts sweet and funny - I found this hard to put down. As for the steamy parts, all I can say is get a fan to fan yourself. Coop is a crazy hot alpha male and Eden may have achieved fame and fortune, but she has remained a down to earth girl. The sparks are crazy between these two.
My only complaint is wondering if my book was missing a prologue. Chapter 1 starts with a quote and then "Fourteen years later...". All I could think was fourteen years later from what? Yes, it's all eventually explained, but that just didn't make sense to me.
Anyway, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves steamy romances. This is the second of a series, but they all standalone. In fact, the books aren't connected by any characters at all. If you liked the first book in the series, you will love this one!
For those of you who notice this is book 2 in a series and haven’t read the first book, Sex in the Sticks, and think you don’t have time to start a new series let me assure you, these can be read as standalone books. I honestly don’t know why this is a series. Unless I’m forgetting something major, these books are not tied together in any way. I guess the name of the series says it though, Love Hurts. Sure it does. And the characters in both books so far have had some crap to go through. But you are missing absolutely nothing by skipping the first book to read this book.
This book was fun and full of steamy scenes. Eden and Coop definitely needed to clear the air. The initial first day or two that Eden was in town were pretty funny between the two of them. Yet the animosity didn’t drag on too long and instead we got to see the flirty, sexy, fun, and tender side of both characters.
Since this book has no ties to book 1 of the series, I’m not sure where things will go if there is a book 3. But I really appreciated the character of Missy and would love to see her have a HEA someday.
This is only my second Sawyer Bennett book and I liked it even more than the first. I hope to get a chance to read more of her books in the future. And I must say, I now see what the fuss is about. She really knows how to suck a reader into her stories.
4.5 stars
Jilted is the 2nd book in the Love Hurts series by Sawyer Bennett. Cooper Mayfield and Eden Goodnight were high school sweethearts and had it all planned out. Buy one chance encounter and everything changes. Decisions are made and their lives change course. Some fourteen years later and Coop is the hometown playboy and Eden is the famous actress who's just been jilted in public by her fiance. To get back on track, she escapes to her hometown where she finds Coop. Begin the sexy times and fun banter but then life gets in the way again and they have to make a decision - compromise and work at a long distance relationship or give it up and go back to the way they were. Great writing, dual POVs, a little angst and great characters make for a sweet second chance read.
This was the kind of solid, heated contemporary I have come to expect from Sawyer Bennett with good writing and a light, engaging storyline. JILTED kept me interested and made me feel good. I read it in 24 hours and I wanted to be reading when I wasn't.
Second chance romance is a trope that never really tires for me, especially when done well. Bennett provides a backstory for the first romance that had good depth, so that I felt willing to invest in a shorter-lived connection when Eden and Coop meet again. Eden is an in-demand movie star and this isn't my favourite character occupation but I was relieved to find this to be inconsequential. Coop initially seemed to be a little superficial, in fact he only engaged in superficial relationships with women based on the physical. With Eden, I loved seeing the change in Coop and he really grew on me as a character.
JILTED had fun times but wasn't an all out rom-com, I liked that subtlety of humour weaved within the narrative. I would highly recommend this book for the kind of light, feel good read for those that like heat, lots of heat.

I love Sawyer Bennett. Each book I have read by her has just been such a pleasant experience.
This story is perfect. I absolutely love Cooper. He is so sweet and delicious. A true southern boy with his heart on his sleeve. You can always count on a fabulous book boyfriend when you read a Sawyer Bennett book.
I actually enjoyed Eden's character as well. You have to feel somewhat sorry for her because deep down she still a southern girl at heart. Her and Coop are perfect for each other.
As hot as a southern summer night, this book is a delightful diversion you will love.
This author is an auto click for me, I think I have ALL her books. She writes sports romances, computer nerd romances, and fun and flirty romances like this one. In this case, the Hollywood actor is the girl, and the guy is a landscape architect. She leaves Hollywood because of a scandal and comes back to her hometown to lick at her scars and have a quiet time. There she meets her high school boyfriend, with whom she had to break up to pursue her dreams of modeling and acting. They parted in friendly terms but it was hard and wrenching. And to her surprise, they have to share her childhood home!
Eden Goodnight has always lived in Goodnight House and had a great childhood with loving parents. When her parents died in a sailboat accident, her grandmother, who loved traveling and living at large, had no other choice but to come home and finish raising Eden who was fifteen at the time. She was a cold, unloving person, and even though she provided for her granddaughter in terms of house, food, clothes, and education, in other areas Eden was neglected. Cooper Mayfield was her high school sweetheart and they had plans to go to college together and marry and have four kids. Unfortunately, Eden's grandmother wouldn't pay for her college unless she went to her choice. Eden chose to follow Cooper and money was tight until an agent discovered her and signed her to a modeling job. From there, her work schedule took off and their relation went south. Their breakup was heartbreaking but understandable and neither had angry feelings about the other.
When Eden gets to her house, she gets the shock that Coop is not only living there, but even worse, he's occupying the master suite, which has access to the library room a floor above. Turns out that during the grandmother's last days, Coop was the one who took care of her. She had turned her shoulder so many times to Eden that Eden had stopped making the effort to stay in touch, and the grandmother was alone and sick and frail. Coop took upon himself to visit her, take her to the doctor, etc. and in return she gave him the rights to live in the house as long as he lives.
Once Eden verifies this with her lawyer, ensues a hysterically funny scene where each throws out the others belongings in order to claim the suite, later ending throwing the clothes out into the front yard. After that, peace is achieved and a tentative truce is effected. Then the start of a reconciliation as friends, as accomplices of many youthful mischiefs, and later on, of a temporary fling is in the works.
This was one second-chance romance, with friends to lovers plot that I greatly enjoyed. Both Coop and Eden were great characters, with a huge obstacle to surpass: their jobs which kept them at opposite sides of the country, and jobs they each loved and were unwilling to leave. I felt this was going to be one of those non-HEA stories, but love is strong and willing to compromise and I was not disappointed. As always, this author writes awesome stories and they keep you hooked until you finish. Her writing style is excellent, great pace, great dialogues and what is most important to me, a great balance between dialogues and prose.
This 4 star story was one of those that I pretty much read in a single day. It was very entertaining and full of never ending drama. It was loaded of steamy hot scenes that will leave the readers hot and bothered.
Eden left town 14 years ago and never looked back. She became an oscar winning actress. Now her fiancée, another actor cheated on her. She returns to her home town and runs into her first love, Coop. They will be their rebound but will it turn into something more?
“True love always finds a way “
Sawyer Bennett never disappoints I have read almost all her books and I am always hooked from the start. I loved Jilted !
The southern charm that is Eden her sassy won't put up with crap attitude had me from the very first page.
Eden is the "it" girl in Hollywood, the woman everyone wants to be and whose life everyone wants to be apart of. But her seemingly perfect life comes crashing down when she attends her fiancé’s première in L.A. Indeed, what she thought was a perfect engagement falls apart, leaving her single again with a scandal in LA!
Eden decides to go back to her hometown, Newsberry. Town she left 14 years ago, when she also left her first love behind, to pursue a career in modelling. Hollywood is a world where you don't show your true self because it makes you more vulnerable, that’s why Eden is in Newberry, to find herself again.
“Coop’s the real deal. He’s just not my real deal. “
Cooper is just the perfect southern boy- he is sexy, hot, possessive,, he is a first class alpha. He will make your heart melt within seconds! Since, he broke up with the love of his life, Eden, he cut all ties with her and did not follow her career at all. When she comes back, he wasn’t prepared to feel so many emotions. He was angry, pissed off but also so attracted by the beautiful woman standing in front of him… same woman who shattered his heart 14 years ago.
When they are together, their attraction is obvious and it did not take them long to yield to temptation. It is just rebound sex! So they say…
“There may have been others, but no one like you “
Can Cooper and Eden find their way back together? Can they cope with just sex? How long till Eden has to go again to film a new movie? You want to know I bet! Go and read it!
