Humorous poetry that will appeal to dog lovers and poets alike. Nothing too serious. One of those stocking filler gifts for those you like but don't spend too much money on.
This was adorable. Who doesn't enjoy doggos and doggos with haikus? Even better. Love the pics, love the puppers, and the haikus were pretty great too
I really enjoyed the television show this dog is from. The poetry is fun and would be a nice way to introduce young adults and children into poetry without being too serious. It would make nice gifts for dog lovers as well.
A lovely gift for dog/poetry lovers!!
This would also be a fun introduction to studying haiku for kids in English classes. I'll definitely use it with my young learners :)
An adorable read and I will be interested in the tv show. Touching. A must read for all dog lovers. Glad the doggie is okay. I would gift this to the dog lovers in my life. Very quick read, but impactful.
Being a dog lover and owner, when I saw this book I knew I had to read it. It is a fun, quick read that I would recommend to any dog lover. When I finished the book, I only wished it was longer.
I never saw the TV series, so that didn't play a role in my wanting to read this. A short read, like, less than an hour even pausing periodically to think about the poems. Some were cute, some touching, even a couple I really found quite good. My thoughts are more about what they made me think about than judging them as good or bad haiku, I don't think I'm qualified to do that. But a fun little book, probably would make a cute small gift for dog and/or poetry lovers.
Reviewed from a copy made available by the publisher via NetGalley.
This is a fun, quick read that any dog lover or dog/pet owner can relate to. As an educator, I would love to read and pair this book with Sharon Creech's 'Love That Dog'.
A short, sweet book of poetry from the perspective of a dog.
I was disappointed with the interior, the poems is black text on white background pages, and the illustrations were so bad I actually wondered if they were done by guiding a pencil the the dogs paw.
For a 10 min read, not very impressed
I was grateful to receive this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion

This book would make a great gift for those animals lovers, especially dog lovers and dog owners. Lots of fun little illustration and an enjoyable story.
I enjoyed this collection of Haikus by Martin the Dog. I was a big fan of the show Downward Dog, especially for Martin’s wit and insight. These Haikus were a quick read that were à heartwarming insight into a dog’s mind.
I often look at my dog and wonder what is going thru her little mind... reading this book gave me some idea. Her trying to get me to purchase more varieties of kibble or being a little quicker to let her out. I can only giggle when I think about what a puppy dog would think about some of the television programs that we watch these days!! lol
I enjoyed reading this book. We were along for an adventure of good times and bad. The illustrations were cute and went along with the poetry.
This would for sure be a book I would purchase for a dog loving friend. It made me smile and giggle and I’m sure that is the emotions that the author was going for!
I received a digital copy of this book from Netgalley.com and the publisher.
A delightful read for dog lovers. It's hilarious and an easy read. The voice of the dog is adorable.
Highly recommended.
4 out of 5 stars.
Very good Haikus from a very good boy.
To be honest it was a very easy and nice read, it's few pages leaving me warm about the relationship of Nan - human why are you never at home anymore? - and Martin - Our very good boy. I teared up thinking tragically at the vet's visit, but I'm okay now that it's over. Very nice and simple Haiku's.
This book was short, quickly read, and so cute. I recommend people who like quick reads and cute things to read this book.
This is a very sweet idea and I imagine it making an excellent gift for dog lovers. I read all these haikus in the voice I imagine my own dog to have, so it was a great laugh. It's a quick read with adorable illustrations and cute little poems that I can genuinely imagine a dog coming out with. Its also nice to follow a 'ruff' storyline from a dogs perspective and I always love books that play around with similar ideas. All in all, it's a nice, wholesome little story.
Very cute book for dog lovers. I've never watched the TV series, but you don't need to be familiar with TV series in order to enjoy the book. I'd recommend this book to other dog lovers. I also think it'd make a cute gift.
Touching and sweet. I'm not familiar with the t.v. series this book goes with, but I don't think it matters. A perfect book for any dog lover. It made me smile, and brought tears to my eyes- I promise, the dog is okay, the tests came back negative! The illustrations are cute, and the doggy-ness comes through nicely.
I don't know the TV series but I loved this book. This clever creation is a treasure that all dog lovers will adore. I want a frame of the picture on page 25 of the human feet and dog feet side by side sticking out from the covers with the caption "Happy Place". That is my happy place too.
This book is many of my favorite things ✔️Dogs, ✔️ Graphic novels, and ✔️ Poems. It’s a fun little book to read or share. I look forward to more from this author. Thank you for the opportunity to review this book.
