I enjoyed this book I enjoyed the Grit that Lily put into everything she does. She has heart and really cares about the people she is trying to help.
Edge gets a little too involved in winning . It is not all about the win, But he tends to forget that. Can edge and Lily still create a relationship out of everything they stand for?
Take the time to read this book you will be glad you did.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington book for allowing me to read this title for an honest review.

After reading a blur –I thought this one will be a lame uninteresting story but I was glad that I was wrong. It is another sweet funny story about love and small town and its people Truhart. Lilly and Edge are both interesting easy to love and funny with their own trouble past and insecurities. I loved the story and how Lilly and Edge path cross. Story is about not giving up and staying strong when all falls apart. Beautiful funny story.

I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

It took Lily a little too long to adapt to her fitness surroundings, but once she did, I really enjoyed watching her fall in love with the small town, its quirky inhabitants, and of course, a notable bachelor.

Truhart, Michigan has some intriguing characters to say the least. In Fit for You by Cynthia Tennent gives us Edgar “Edge” Callaghan, whose story is as tragic as it is unique. Strong community story as well as a romance as Edge and Lily look to redefine themselves and their dreams. What makes this such a sweet romance is that neither one expected to find love or true purpose in this small community.

Much starts out wrong for Lily Shue’s in this story but the journey changes not just her perception of the town, and Edge but also of herself. Cynthia Tennent gives us a lesson here; it is not just right eating and exercising but more on our perspective. Lily knows some of that but while falling in love, she learns much more. You go, girl!

Fit for You by Cynthia Tennent
Truhart #4

Fun and funny but with an edge…well and with a hero named Edge…this is a love story that puts the entire town through its paces…well some of the town paces/walks as it become more fit. And, that is what this book is about – fitness. Lily Shue is a fitness expert hired through a grant to come in and provide fitness information and motivation for the town. She is rather surprised by the limited facilities at hand to help her achieve success but hobbles along putting the best face on the situation that she can. Edgar “Edge” Callahan is a bit of a conundrum with his bushy beard, hard body, many jobs, wonderful family, laid back attitude, magnetic personality and a deeper part he doesn’t let out often. When the town becomes involved in a “Warriors Challenge” with a nearby town the pressure is on and what was once a more laid back approach (in some ways) to getting fit becomes much more competitive AND there are some that want to win at all costs. This is more than a simple small town romance in that it is also about caring and sharing at the personal, family and community level.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books-Lyrical Shine for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Likeable Romance.
This is one in a series of books about Truhart but can be read as a standalone. Lily Shue's career as a fitness trainer is in serious trouble and as a last resort she accepts a job to make the residents of Truhart both fitter and healthier. However her goal is jeopardized by the fact that she is on crutches, with her leg in a knee brace and the town has zero gym equipment. An endearing story about small town life with a likeable romance in the shape of Edge (Edgar) Callaghan.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

This book is the 4th book the the Truhart series, but it can be read as a standalone. I jumped into the 4th book and then proceeded to buy the previous ones. Lily Shue arrives in a small town in Michigan because of a government grant to get the town moving towards better fitness. It is a little bit awkward because Lily arrives injured and on crutches and it feels like she is being judged because she can't exercise -- and she is supposed to run exercise classes. Lily is from California and adjusting to live in a small Michigan town will take some getting used to. Things are made more difficult because the terms of the grant were not completely truthful and when Edge shows up to pick her up, he puts her up as his mom's house. She was promised her own apartment. So now Lily is stuck in a house full of strangers and a hot guy she does not want to be interested in.

Edge Callaghan is a former skier and Olympic hopeful. His skiing career ended and he has been living in a small town doing all sorts of odd jobs. He is close to his family, which Lily finds endearing but he also frustrates her at every turn. The readers are introduced to Edge while he has a full on beard going, so Lily can't really tell what he looks like. She prefers to ignore him, but as she gets to know him, his personality grows on her.

This book is more of a slow burn. There is a lot of character development going on and the plot is quite detailed. I think the setting is unusual, the characters don't quite hit it off right away and there is a lot of humor. It turned out to be a pleasantly surprising, quirky book. The romance is still there, but it just took a different path to get to the HEA. I love the competitive nature of both of the characters. I love the setting and I might be somewhat biased towards stories that take place in Michigan ;) The writing is good, the plot/setting is unique, the dialogue and characters are fun and unusual. I think this book will appeal to contemporary romance readers. Perfect to take with you "up north" and disconnect from reality for a bit.

Fit for You by Cynthia Tennent is the 4th book in her sweet romantic Truhart series. Lily Shue is our heroine, and after injuring herself on a hit fitness show, she arrives on crutches to become the new fitness trainer in Truhart . She is appalled to be picked up by a tall, bearded man in a truck that is filled with stuffed bears. This is where meet our hero, Edge Callaghan, who is sweet & easy going, as well as a jokester. Lily’s first surprise is the apartment she was supposed to live in, was no longer available. Instead she was taken to live in Edge’s family’s house. Everyone, including his mother, grandmother, sisters, etc all welcomed Lily.

The following morning, already in a bad mood, Lily is shocked when she is shown the gym she will be working in; it is an old grocery store, with no equipment. To make matters worse, the other trainer, who was also hired two different towns) on this grant, had a full gym with top notch equipment. The town of Truhart did not have money or donors to buy any equipment; Lily had her work cut out for her. She is big on all things healthy, including working out, and eating healthy food. When she finds out that Edge, runs an ice cream place during the summer months, she becomes angry at him for always pushing his store, when she is trying to teach those in her class and in town to eat better.

Edge we learn is a former Olympian Skier, who had too many concussions, forcing him to retire from the sport. But despite this, Edge is happy and fun loving and loves his home town of Truhart. In a short time, Lily will begin to see Edge in another light, as he is caring, and everyone loves him. A slow build romance will begin, but Lily feels there is no future, as once her job is over, she will be leaving town. Other than the fitness competition between the two towns, she has nothing here in Truhart. But Lily is determined to change people’s minds on eating healthier and losing weight. She starts different programs to walk, exercise and offering different options to eat. She starts making friends with the townsfolks and Edge’s family. When the other trainer, pushes to remove Lily, the entire town of Truhart will come to her rescue and promise they will help her fight to win the competition

What follows is a fun storyline, with some really good and funny secondary characters, and a couple we slowly come to love. Cynthia Tennent does a good job giving us a sweet romance, and more fun in Truhart. If you enjoy a fun, humorous story in a small town, with a great couple, I suggest you read Fit For You.

I was happy to spend some time back in Truhart, Michigan with it's lovely and amusing inhabitants. Lily Shue is an highly qualified fitness instructor from L.A. escaping a disastrous foray into television. She is hired to bring the town of Truhart into a higher fitness level. There is instant animosity with Edge Callahan which blossoms into admiration with the whacky goings on in this small town. It is charming, and humorous and surprisingly thoughtful, as Lily struggles understandably with issues of self esteem. I loved it and can't wait to go back to Truhart.

Fit for You is a well written romance. The book has a good plot and believable characters. I loved the small town setting. and enjoyed the author's style of writing.

I enjoyed this story, it has a different and original subject - fitness, working out and healthy eating from the individual perspective and in a small town setting – based on convincing data and embodied by the character of the heroine (Lily Shue).
I liked both the heroine and the hero, Edge Callahan. Lily is stronger and has more worth than she thinks, and I liked that while she was insecure about herself she was also learning to be more confident.
Edge is a swoony hero, “a giant teddy bear. A big animal that was supposed to be fierce and scary but ended up being cuddly and sweet” (76%). But he sort of loses some edge as the story moves on.
More than a story about a couple, perhaps “Fit for for you” is a story about strong close-knit families (Edge’s and Lily’s) and a community, whose not-so-young members and elders are characters in their own right.
